Dirty Talk by SL Scott OWNED ME. Friends to lovers is my kryptonite. It’s my crack. I feed off friends to lovers romances and revel in them. Dirty Talk was utter perfection for this friends to lovers bookworm.. I could not get enough. The build up throughout this book is an epic high, that left me deliriously happy. But with each high came an earth shattering low and massive heartbreak. Luke and Jane’s whole relationship is intense and explosive whether they are on or off.

If you read Sweet Talk, then like me, I’m sure you were SUPER excited at the prospect of getting Luke’s book. NEVER did I imagine that I’d love him the way I do. Jeez that man is DANGEROUS. In a totally good way.
Luke Anders is dirty, delicious, sinful, sexy romantic and oh so swoony. He made my knees buckle just from reading his lines. He’s infectious and raw. Just wonderful. *heart eyes* He ruined me.

Jane Lewis is Luke’s best friend, childhood sweetheart and holder of his heart. Her and Luke are a match made in heaven, don’t get me wrong there were times I just wanted to scream OPEN YOUR EYES! but that burn, that tension, that build up is what made this books so perfect for me. The breath stealing way their relationship broke, then built before breaking again then ending so beautifully was everything I needed. At times my heart was racing, pounding so hard. Other times it hit the floor. Dirty Talk has the perfect mix of highs and lows, that balance beautifully.

Dirty Talk shines like the brightest star, lights everything up like the fullest moon and steals the heart and soul. And has left my feelings the total opposite of mad!

Love lands on you when you least expect it; you’re not prepared for your life to be altered or your path to change its destination. Sometimes stories cross your path and give you great pleasure when you aren’t expecting them where their releases may be ones of surprise. These stories start as surprises but buried beneath the writing they become the best books and unexpected pieces of pleasure.

Pepper Winters, writing as Tess Hunter, surprises the book world with a bang in the form of Can’t Touch This, soaring in her rom-com debut with a heated, humorous, and heartwarming story of unexpected love. A story that scorched me from head to toe. A story that made my soul soar and my heart happy. A story that stole every part of me.

The inside cover page already had me giggling with the caveat that is not Pepper Winters but so Pepper at the same time.

“Don’t worry. It’s the same person doing strange things as all authors are prone to do. Just sit back and hopefully enjoy…”

When this book landed in my lap as a sensational surprise, I dropped everything to devour Can’t Touch This because Pepper Winters’ writing always speaks to my soul, making it soar to destinations unknown. Written on a whim as medicine to soothe the soul after a great loss, I felt Tess Hunters’ emotions escape from Can’t Touch This to me: angst to awe and humor to heart.

The cover for Can’t Touch this had me drooling where I knew instantly that this book would be different and daring, a unique and out-of-the-box story for one of my favorite authors. Oh did the cover make me want to touch this…a lot. I knew the heat and humor would pour off the pages…and oh did it steam up my kindle and make me light up in laughter. What I didn’t expect is how Can’t Touch This would touch my heart.

Oh did the blurb make me want to touch Can’t Touch This even harder with the first few lines that zapped electricity from the pages to other places.

“I don’t’ really want to touch it. I really, really don’t. He’s egotistical, crass, and my patient’s owner – which makes him totally off limits.”

Hook. Line. Sinker. I was already caught before I read the story, which I already knew would be incredible. Spoiler Alert: Can’t Touch This is so intoxicating and so incredible.

Can’t Touch This took me in its clutches from the very first page, capturing me, claiming me; I was ALL IN. Where Pepper Winters’ other books are drenched in darkness, this one by her other alias, Tess Hunter, is bathed in brightness. I did not have to pause while reading to reign in my emotions left dangling in the darkness like in this authors’ other stories. I devoured Can’t Touch This like a hungry lioness, ready to pounce on the pages like my next meal or the air I needed to breathe.

Vesper ‘Ves’ Fairfax is a beautiful blonde, blue-eyed, and long-legged veterinarian who dedicates her life to her four-legged friends and her human bestie, Polly, leaving no time for the male two-legged species. No time except for the one who keeps bringing a parade of injured dogs to her vet, harassing her, and looking at her like he wants her for dinner.

“Her blonde curls, slightly upturned nose, and damn pixie features meant my cock wanted to visit just as much as doing the right thing by the dogs I cared for.”

Ryan Carson with his hazel eyes, dark tousled hair, and tall and muscular body was sex-on-a-stick. An Adonis who happens to love animals, especially the two-legged vet that he and his rescue dogs must see.

Not even 10 percent into this story, the humor and heat had me eating up the pages.

“I didn’t mean I wouldn’t touch him. Just not that hot dog in your pants that you keep referring to.”

“Hot dog? I’d say it’s more like a giant salami…You can squeeze my salami if you want.”

I’m pooling in a mixture of laughter and lust, still in disbelief that the Queen of Darkness is now the Queen of Comedy. I FELL IN LOVE FAST AND FURIOUSLY after just a few pages.

While Ryan is heated and humorous, the vet has a hot and hilarious streak too where I laughed just as hard.

“He cupped the delicate meat and veg between his legs. It wasn’t just snack size, either. It was banquet – need to go back for seconds and possibly thirds – size. Damn him. Damn his sexy face and alluring cock.”

I may or may not had to fan myself off a few times from these steamy lines that lit me up like a fire scorching below. Oh how has this dirty-talking delight of a man with a heart of gold worn out the beautiful vet, enticing her with thoughts of his salacious salami so she’ll bite and go on a date.

“I liked him. And there was no room in my colour-coded diary for a dirty talker, pooch lover, and gorgeously handsome man. Even if I did want to touch it.”

Ves doesn’t want to like the infuriating man who turns her on at work, but she can’t help what her traitorous body feels. Her brain also can’t help but process every dirty word and look that makes her want to pounce on Ryan like a cat in heat. Temptation never looked so good.

“This wasn’t just a first kiss. This was something explosive. This was dangerous, and it brought things out of me I didn’t know existed.”

The chemistry between this captivating couple – between these pages – ignited like wildfire, burning from the pages to me.

“Now I truly see you.”

Oh how my sweat turned into SWOON. I SWOONED HARD over this unexpected story. I swooned over this unexpected couple. Can’t Touch This didn’t just smoke the story and me with heat; it hit my heart with a bigger impact than I imagined. One laced in lust where love threatened to seep through, one sweet surprise that I didn’t see coming.

“We were both breathless as we slowly returned from heaven, floating back to earth. We stared into each other’s eyes and there was so much to say, so much to ask.”

Sex with no strings is easy…uncomplicated. What happens when those strings start to entangle the hearts, throwing emotions into the mix to make a sudden mess?

“This game we were playing had suddenly become endlessly dangerous.”

I FELL IN LOVE with Can’t Touch This, fast and furiously. Sweet and spicy, witty and wonderful, I LOVED this story so much! Can’t Touch This touched every part of me as this unexpected romance blazed my body, lit me up in laughter, and hitched itself to my heart in a story that made my soul soar. Explosive and entertaining like fireworks, and emotionally-intertwined like first love, Can’t Touch Left this left me aching for more.

Ever since then, he expects me to serve him.

Review – Chandler by Laurelin Paige

Many say that you should never mix business with pleasure. But what if that pleasure could be the love of your life? What if that pleasure is life-changing? What if that pleasure is a page-turning book? SPOILER: Chandler, the latest romance in the Fixed series by Laurelin Paige, is pure pleasure indeed. An intoxicating rush of a read, Chandler stirred my soul, hitching itself to my heart so hard to where I did not want to leave.

After just a few pages, I was plummeted back into the Pierce world, one that pierced every part of me. I was fixed on this story as if I had never left, reunited with Chandler, Hudson, Alayna, and others who invaded my head and hear. I felt these charismatic and compelling characters sink into my soul, stealing it quickly, hijacking my heart and head.

SPOILER: It did not take long to FALL IN LOVE with Chandler, the captivating character and the tender tale. I FELL IN LOVE with this story more than I suspected I would, one that surprised me with its sweetness that wrapped itself around me like a blanket, making me swoon so very hard. I FELL IN LOVE with this series even more—as if that were possible.

I was ALL IN as Chandler, the latest story in the Fixed series, became my fix. My need. My ache. My angst. My adoration. My addiction. SPOILER: I could not stop reading, could not stop snickering, could not stop swooning, could not stop hoping, and could not stop my heart from beating hard for Chandler as it did and does for Hudson.

Oh Hudson. This story reveals a new side of big brother who berates little brother, sometimes warranted, yet mostly Hudson loves Chandler so much too. Chandler doesn’t let big brother sway him though; he still shines with self-confidence in spades.

“Though he’s easing me into the family business, I’m technically the owner of Pierce Industries, just like he is, and I hate it when he treats me like an average employee…Despite our differences, I want our company to succeed as much as he does.”

Chandler is not intimated by his bold, big brother. As much as I adore Hudson, I love Chandler’s power too, a power that surfaces from boardroom to bedroom.

“Swear on the Pierce family name, I do not let a woman leave my sheets before she’s received at least two orgasms. The goal is always three.”

Speaking of Os…holy ovary explosion! Chandler is a generous lover who puts women first in every way. I fell in love with this blue-eyed, blond, tall, and muscular Adonis hard and fast. Chandler is a manwhore, a ‘feast and flee’ man. Burned in the past, he is not about to let his heart get broken again. Women don’t affect him except for a hot night. Women don’t capture him…except one: Genevieve Fasbender.

“My breath is knocked from my chest the second my gaze slams into her…I’m absolutely certain I have to have her. Have to possess her.”

SPOILER: I was just as possessed as Chandler, turning the pages as fast as I could soak up this spellbinding story, needing to know what happened like I needed air to breathe.

“I’m not ready to move on from this kiss. From this moment. From this out-of-breath, on-the-edge-of-a-precipice, scared-out-of-my-mind feeling scratching inside of me.”

This beautiful Brit has captured the cocky Chandler, seeping him into her spell where he thinks about putting his playboy status to rest. Chandler and Genevieve are the perfect match. Both fierce leaders are vying for a spot in their fathers’ companies that may merge as one. Both are battling being in their brothers’ shadows.

“The tension in the air thickens. It’s so heavy, I can’t breathe. I can’t think.”

The angst bleeds fast and furiously throughout Chandler. I was lost in lust, lost in love, lost in the spell cast upon me as Chandler captivated me, calling to me like the sea: fierce and forceful.

“I will keep it my pants zipped, as long as you promise never to refer to it as a ‘bit’ again. Monster would be preferable. Lord could work. Great Big Dick of Amazingness would earn lots of points with me.”

The banter between Genevieve and Chandler is heated and humorous; I could not get enough at the lines that made me lust and laugh, and sweat and swoon. Their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS HOT like molten lava. I LOVE THEM!!!

“Because I don’t have time for you! You’re an obstacle on the path to my dream career. A distraction.”

While Chandler looks at Genevieve for pleasure and a possible future, she thinks he’s a mistake. A relationship that—while feels like pure pleasure—should only be business.

“A blaring alarm in my head says I’m not ready for this. That it needs to stop. That I should pull away and leave before this relationship gets out of hand.”

SPOILER: Chandler exceeded my expectations where I now hold Hudson and Chandler both tightly in my heart. I did not expect to love Chandler as much as Hudson but I did! I did not expect Chandler to be filled with as much humor as heart but he and his story were so much! I did not expect Chandler to melt me into a pool of swoon, making me fall in love with him and his story over and over again but he and it did. I FELL HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER PIERCE.

Captivating and combustible, I was drunk on this brilliant book. Drunk on Chandler. Drunk on the Pierce family. Drunk on the masterful writing of Laurelin Paige. I could not help but succumb to the spell of this story that is sheer brilliance from beginning to end. A riveting romance where the feels flowed as much as the fun, I’ll remain fixed on Chandler forever.

I’m good in a boardroom, but I’m better in the bedroom. Much better. I can charm the skirt off any woman in one encounter. I’ll even give her an orgasm before I put her in a cab. Or three. No more or she’ll start making plans for the future and I’m not into that.

Or I wasn’t until Genevieve Fasbender. She’s the first woman in five years that I want to spend the whole night with. And she’s the first woman who’s told me I’m not what she wants in a lover, even after multiple O’s. She’s brash and bold and stubborn as hell, and she doesn’t believe it’s possible to satisfy her.

But I’m up for the challenge.

And after an incident in my brother’s office closet―a downright dirty incident―I think I’m just the guy to deliver.

Review – The Arrogant Architect by LK Collins

I am such a fan of LK Collins. Her work is stunning. Her words bring her worlds to life. In the time that I have read her works, she has touched on some topics. PTSD, drug abuse, suicide… the death of a loved one. I was sure that The Arrogant Architect would be one of her steamy sexy tales. But this story… King and Ever? This was crazy love, an instant hate, heartbreaking loss, a struggle to move on… a struggle to understand.

Ever has had a tough six years after losing her beloved mother. Nothing has been the same for her and her father. The loss has been staggering and she has no clear plan to let her mother go. Her work as a chef has been her salvation. Her apartment has been her sanctuary. All of that is thrown into disarray by one brilliant, beautiful man – Kingsley Lennox. Instant hate for Ever. Instant attraction and need for King.

King is an architectual genius. Highly sought after. Richly awarded. A pioneer in his field. But no matter how hard he tries and how many other people adore him, the one person who he wants doesn’t want to be anywhere near him. With dogged determination, he pursues Ever. He won’t stop until her wins her over. One date. That’s all. He doesn’t have time for love but he has time for ONE DATE.

Their interactions put me on edge. Ever hates him, refuses to give him a chance – to the point that I found her and her actions mean and petty. Kingsley moved and moved faster and faster. Trying everything, everything. Until it happens. Ever gives in and then nothing between the couple is the same. Their relationship swings up and down… just as their lives swing up and down. The angst continues to build. The feeling that something just isn’t right. Just when it seems too much for Ever to understand and to accept, the answer is there.

This amazing story won’t let me go. Even after having finished their love story a few days ago, Kingsley won’t leave my thoughts. Everly won’t slip away so easily. I laughed at their antics. I cried for their losses. I cried for man needing to come to grips with his needs and his limitations. I grieved for a young woman who just wanted one more minute with her mother. I celebrated with them as they worked their way toward a happily ever after – or at least for right now.

Beautiful words. Amazing story. Job well done, LK. All hail the King.

Kingsley Lennox, AKA King, has been dubbed a genius of the architectural world. Anything he touches turns to gold, and being as successful as he is, his work is his number one priority. Review – Sacred Serenity by Audrey Carlan

After I finished reading Resisting Roots, book 1 in the Lotus House series, I couldn’t wait for more! I anxiously waiting for the release of Sacred Serenity! Mrs. Carlan has never disappointed and she still hasn’t this book was EVERYTHING! From sweet and caring to hot and steamy to sex personified! Amber and Dash’s story will leave you panting and swooning. The angst was raw. It was real! I felt for the characters so much throughout the story. This beautiful book grabbed me by the heart and wouldn’t let go for days after I finished.

So what’s better than Yoga? Why Tantric Yoga of course! I have never in my life wanted to jump right in and say….I’M READY TO TRY SOME TANTRIC!….like I do now. Who am I kidding? I’ve never known what Tantric Yoga really was until reading this book! I was hooked from page one. It sucked me in as I turned page after page never wanting it to end!

Dash and Amber come together is an explosion of sexual frustration. Inexplicably drawn to one another, both try to resist, but it’s no use when you’re soul mates. Or so Dash thinks.

“There will be no part of you untouched or untasted. I’m going to consume you, little bird, until there is no more of you and me. Only us.”

I was super excited that we got to see characters from Resisting Roots again! I loved how Mrs. Carlan allowed us to have glimpses into their lives and how they have been playing out. I still love Genevieve and Trent and his overprotective alpha man self!

I can’t get enough of this series or Mrs. Carlan’s books period. She is a phenomenal author who conjures up beautiful words for a timeless story! I can’t wait to see what she dreams up next!

Man oh man! Where on earth do I start? If you could see my now then you’d honestly see a crazy loon of a bookworm sitting with the biggest smile on her face, with a heart that is POUNDING, skin COVERED in goosebumps, tingling from SO MANY EMOTIONS and I’m HOT, like burning up from the pure epicness that is Neighbor Dearest.

Captivating. Neighbor Dearest is captivating. From the prologue I was dragged into this story, and held hostage by words that held so much emotion I couldn’t escape, I didn’t want to escape.

I feel I have to admit now, before I go any further that my nerves were shot going into this, I mean Elec WAS my top Penelope guy and I was nervous as to what may happen, but at 33% when those butterflies began flapping deep in my stomach I was no longer nervous. I was hyper, floating on an extreme buzz that built and built and built with each page read. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times my whole body EXPLODED with different feels while reading. Neighbor Dearest gave me an emotional high that I’ll never forget.

Led from Chelsea’s POV, Neighbor Dearest is a read that I’m ADDICTED too. In four hours I have fallen head over heels in love with EVERYTHING about this book. From the pure intensity of the connection between Chelsea and Damien to the soul searing love that BURNED every fibre of me.

Not only did the story burn me, but so did Damien. This man is EVERYTHING. There is SO MUCH to him, from his deep, moody intensity, to his delicious dirty words to the swoony, romantic man that destroys the heart in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY, is just perfection. So much so that I sit here now asking “Elec who?!?” Yep that’s right you heard me. Prepare to wave goodbye to Elec because Damien Hennessey is going to BLOW YOUR MIND while ROCKING YOUR WORLD leaving you in a sticky gooey mess of pure sated bliss.

If there is one thing I have to say about Neighbor Dearest it’s that it’s a sublime story. From start to finish there isn’t any time where I wanted to put this book down, where I wanted to stop and the further I got in the more overpowering the feeling got. I can’t honestly say I devoured this book because this book devoured ME!

Penelope Ward is an artist, how she builds up her words is astounding. The words flow into breathtaking sentences that make up chapter after chapter of beautiful perfection. I feel as though I want to hang up EVERY SINGLE page from this book and marvel at them forever. Penelope OWNED it with this book. OWNED me with this book.

From the very first sparks to the rip roaring flame and burning heat that emits from this book and it’s characters, Neighbor Dearest is Penelope’s best book yet. It’s a firestarter that takes over everything. And in no way would I ever change a thing about this story.

I wanted to scoop Summer up into a hug as her self-confidence needed a big boost. Cayden and Summer become fast friends, hanging out together all the time and sparking interest on campus. Suddenly, Summer is significant.

Summer is more reserved at first and appears meek, but Caden is the sun that makes her sprout, helping Summer growing from lamb to lioness. As Summer and Caden become closer, their friendship walks the line of love, confusing what they are…what they can be. That attraction brewing between them is building into something bigger.

“I looked at him and knew my emotions were shining through. If he’d glanced back at me, he would’ve seen everything I felt.”

Chemistry charges like a bull, hitting Summer and Caden with a sudden urge, forcing them out of the friend zone.

Caden is broken but Summer is the glue helping repair his shattered soul.

As Summer and Caden get closer, the past strikes hard like lightning, threatening their new-found friendship and budding love.

The wreckage ruined me; my heart shattered as I hoped for healing and happiness. Hoping for Summer and Caden to heal each other. Praying that the dark knight and his princess would ride off into the sunset together.

Anti-Stepbrother broke me with a heavy hit to my heart where my tears bled onto the pages. Happy tears. Heartbreaking tears. Hopeful tears. The beauty in these words warmed my body and soul; I felt every word I read. Words that reached inside and grabbed my heart hard, tugging it the whole way where it stayed stuck in this story.

Tijan RUINED ME with Anti-Stepbrother in THE BEST WAY!!! Caden has my heart…THIS MAN IS EVERYTHING. THIS STORY IS EVERYTHING. My head was full of swoony sensations and so much goodness! I had not read a college romance that hit me that hard since Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster.

I did not expect to fall in insta-love with Anti-Stepbrother but I did. I did not expect this sweet and swoony story, Anti-Stepbrother, to shoot stars into my eyes and daggers in my heart but oh it did. I did not expect much of anything but got everything. Every tear. Every smile. Every laugh. Every gasp. Every beat of my heart. Anti-Stepbrother stole them all.

Anti-Stepbrother dug itself into my heart, penetrating it profusely and poignantly. I fell in love with this soul-searing story over and over again. I did not want to be done with my Anti-Stepbrother in a story I felt had only begun, one where the feels will remain long after the last page.

Review – The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Move aside Jesse Ward. Jake Sharp is here to steal your alpha crown!

The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas is a phenomenal romance that has left me pretty much useless ALL DAY!

From the opening pages of the prologue, I was absolutely done for. From the prologue the spike in adrenaline started to slowly build higher and higher through each page read. It continued to build stronger, more intense as the book went on. I had butterflies throughout the whole book, that flapped with different levels of power and intensity as the story progressed.

Suspense thrilled me from head to toe, firing up my heart on so many occasions, that at times it felt like it may blast from my chest. The angst was crazy good and wholly addicting. I honestly couldn’t get enough of that deep tug that burned all the way through The Protector.

Sensuality, sizzles through the story, through captivating, character connections and hot scenes that pulled me back and forth, a tug of war that my heart played willingly.

As we know Jodi can write the most sensational alphas going. And Jake Sharp IS NOT TO BE IGNORED. He is EVERYTHING you need in an alpha. Raw, oozing, sexy, powerful. I could go on. I want to go on but nothing I say will fully express him. He’s brutal to the heart and soul. Absolutely mind blowing!

Camille Logan was THE PERFECT character to pair with Jake, I was apprehensive to read this book as I expected to not like her. But I found that Camille is a super strong, sexy, sassy lead female character, easy to connect to, easy to like. Her teasing, sultry nature was empowering to read. And reading her ability to bring Jake to his knees was utter bookworm bliss.

Reading The Protector was a pleasure, never once did I want to leave the world Jodi pens so brilliantly. So beautifully. So breathtakingly. It’s my favourite book of Jodi’s. As a Brit, the connection I felt to the book was already really strong and it only emphasised with the further in I got. It’s been a long awaited read, one that has excited me and after finally reading has not let me down!

Review – Prime Minister by Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller

This was unbelievably hot. This was one of the sexiest reads I have had my hands on this year. One thing is for sure….

I will never look at the Prime Minister the same way again. If Gavin is running the country, I’m ready – MORE THAN READY – to move me and all my worldly possessions to Canada. This book left me stunned and so happy. I missed Gavin and Ellie once the I was done with the story. Their love story is so complex. While he may be the leader of Canada, Gavin is like any other man. He has the same wants, the same needs. Except his comes with a little bit of a kink. He’s smart, determined to make his country better. And when he meets Ellie – an graduate intern in his office – his life is never the same. He’s drawn to her mind, her heart, and yes. He wants her. But he tries so hard to fight what he’s feeling. She’s 25. He’s in his late thirties. He has certain sexual needs. He has to be in control. He doesn’t want to scare her, but he doesn’t want to be without her either.

Their relationship is lusty and explosive in the bedroom but respectful and sweet outside of it. Their love story may be unconventional and some may think a bit unrealistic, but it made for a totally fantastic read that I could not turn away from for very long. A hot doctor for a best friend, a seriously sexy bodyguard and a hockey player who’s going to be a whole lot of naughty make this story one divine page turner!

Ainsley and Sadie have started something oh so worthwhile with the Frisky Beaver series. I laughed so much my sides hurt. I sighed and swooned so hard over Gavin. I cheered for Ellie because she is some woman! I’m excited to return to Canada and get the rest of the series! Oh, Canada!
