What can I say? Tia Louise strikes again, and it’s just a huge explosion. The stunning conclusion to this duet will leave you breathless. I’m trying to write this without giving anything away because she keeps you on your toes trying to figure out what’s coming next. Packed with intrigue, mystery, action, angst, undying love and devotion, and that Tia Louise heat we all know and love, this conclusion will rock your world. I see another book or possibly duet coming our way from this one and I will surely be happy to get my hands on it.

We stop walking and turn to face the emerald waters. The briny air pushes her hair back and around her shoulders. Tendrils spin around my face, and the inescapable sorrow filters through my chest.

“I can’t do this anymore.”

“Yes, you can.” Her voice is flat, and she bends to put Pierre on the dry sand. “I’m going up. How much longer will you be out here? Celeste is making Quiche Lorraine for breakfast.”

I watch her run up the tall staircase, her little dog at her heels, thinking of the reasons she has to run. I remember her as a small girl on the street, in the dark alley behind the theater. She was thin and starving and hunched in the corner waiting to die.

She was so malnourished, I thought she was younger than her actual age, which was twelve. I remember carrying her inside and fighting with Rosa. I remember Rosa boxing my ears and telling me the first time that kid cried, she’d throw us both in the alley with the rats. I remember the terror I felt that night and Molly falling asleep so quietly with her head on my chest.

She needed me. She loved me, and I loved her fiercely in return.

I remember her running around the theater, a sweet and innocent kid never suspecting the hawk was circling above, watching her, closing in to steal her soul and warp her future. I’ll never forgive myself for what happened to her. I’ll never forgive myself for not being there to protect her.

A flash of pain moves through my stomach, and I remember someone saying the same words to me not so long ago…

Walking to the edge of the water, I look out at the surf, at the waves rushing in and out. I think about how nothing bad can happen here. The sins of the past are far, far away from this beautiful place.

My heart alternates between beating out of my chest and dying. I’m back on that train, seeing him for the first time out of the blue, completely caught off-guard, alternately panicking and rejoicing… He’s alive!

He’s wearing faded jeans and a plain white t-shirt. His caramel hair is a little longer, but not much. It moves in the breeze as he approaches me.

He’s strong and pure and gorgeous as ever, and the way we touched, our glorious reunion is stronger and hotter in my memory than the sun climbing higher in the sky.

I want to cry. I want to sing. I want to hold him…

But now everything has changed.

Review – Thunder by Willow Summers

This was my first book by this author. By reading the title and blurb, I figured it was just going to be a hot read without too much emotions. I was so wrong. Not only was this book HOT, it was hilarious and endearing.

I fell in love with Colton pretty quickly. Yes, he was a male escort but he was doing it to make his dreams come true. When he tells Dick he is quitting, there is just one last case that he has to take, and it’s not even a request for him. Boy is he in for a surprise when he meets Madison.

Madison is awesome. I loved her instantly. The way she handles the break up with her ex had me laughing so hard. Even more was that she had no idea how much of a catch she truly was. She was still beyond scarred from her high school days where she was bullied and teased. So when the ex that humiliatingly dumped her invites her to his wedding, she has to go to prove that she isn’t that pathetic girl anymore. What she didn’t plan on was not having a date.

This is where we meet the beyond hilarious best friend Janie. Even though this book isn’t gets, she plays a big role and you will absolutely love her. She has the bright idea to order an escort. When Colton shows up at their door, neither Colton or Madison know that their lives are about to change forever.

I am so glad that I read this book and took a chance on an author I wasn’t familiar with. This book was so much more than I expected and I cannot wait to read Janie’s story.

“I guess I can’t go to James’s wedding,” Madison said. “He’ll probably think I’m canceling because I don’t have a date. Which is true.” She crinkled her nose and drummed on the counter. “This really sucks.”

“Oh my God. Do I have to do everything for you?” Janie abandoned the martini and stalked from the room.

Janie marched back in with a card in her hand. She thumped it down on the counter. “Yes. I am. I feel as big as a house, you don’t have any chocolate, and despite hating to cry in front of people, I want to sob. Okay? “I’m afraid of you right now.”

“That is wise.” Janie went back to Dr. Vodka.

Madison picked up the card and read the front with a crooked grin. “Big Dick Escort Service?” Giggles bubbled out. “Are you for real?”

“Yes, actually. You get what you pay for. They’re expensive, but they’re professional.”

“Their name is Big Dick Escort Service, and you’re saying they’re professional?”

Marni, you blow me away woman. Your diversity of writing amazes me. This by far is the HOTTEST 🔥🔥🔥🔥 book I’ve read by you. Heat from beginning to the sweet ending. I will admit I read the epilogue with tears running down my face. This was such the perfect read. Serious scorch factor with a very emotional storyline.

James is one of the sweetest girls ever and is mature beyond her years, most likely because of losing her parents so you and her chasing her dreams. At 18, she was flying high, successful as could be. Little did she know that was all about to be ripped right out from under her by a nasty vile human being.

WOAH!!

That’s my initial thought as I sit here post Dirt by Cassia Leo. I honestly think Dirt had one of the most hard hitting, emotional prologue I’ve ever read. The whole opener just GUTTED ME! As did the rest of the book in all honesty.

Dirt is angsty and heart wrenching. Every page punches deeper and harder. My heart was POUNDING while reading this book. The tension is as REAL as it gets! It’s so, so hard to fully explain any of it because it’s only the first book and there are SO MANY THINGS I NEED TO KNOW!

Jack & Laurel are hotter than the rising Sun but more broken than a shattered glass. Together this mix of heat and emotion really played well in building up the story and making so much more.

I am GUTTED that it ended like it did! So gutted. And DESPERATE for book two!

Before I start I want to make it abundantly clear that I could only choose 5 stars for this review but actually NO AMOUNT of stars could ever rate this book.. I’ve sat on this review for days now. Not because I didn’t know what to say, it was because I feared I’d say to much. Midnight Blue is not one of those books that you can read and easily sum up. The book it’s self has SO MANY hidden layers and depths that even attempting to fully convey everything I loved so much about this book will be impossible.

If you don’t know LJ Shen, have never picked up one of her books and fallen deep into her stories, then I beg of you, please do so. You cannot go wrong with any book of hers that you read but something about Midnight Blue made an already incredible author a truly PHENOMENAL author. LJ Shen has this way of RUINING you with her words but it’s a good kind of ruin. A beautiful burn shall we say? Seriously she’s an author who’s books I could ONLY EVER read and I would never tire of them.

From the very start Midnight Blue is a consuming, complex novel that burrows itself deep into the heart and soul and BURNS, the most incredible, beautiful burn. The angst and feeling and emotion and depth of this book is out of this world. How LJ Shen wrote this book how she did is beyond me. There is intensity and passion and power, darkness, anger and pain, lust, love and beauty. It just about covers every emotion, every feeling.

Alex and Indie are a couple that are forever unforgettable. There will NEVER be a couple like these ever again. I cannot even begin to tell you how epic they are, together AND individually. Together they are DYNAMITE. Individually they are the spark, the initial fire, the inevitable burn. Together they got under my skin, flowed through my blood. Individually they invaded my heart, head and soul, tattooing themselves on me forever. I loved them, their story, their amazing highs and devastating lows. Following the journey of a couple like Alex & Indie has never been so captivating.

I honestly could say more, spill more about what makes this book good, great in fact. I could talk forever, the book hangover after Midnight Blue is REAL. The only problem with me talking too much is that YOU, the person reading this now learns too much about the book. I just finished KEEP HER SAFE by K.A. Tucker in an hours-long marathon read. I never read the blurb and dove in blindly. When I picked up this book and began reading, I wasn’t sure if this crime-solving story was for me. I was uncertain whether I could get into this tale of more thrills and chills than romance. Then after just a few pages … BOOM! I was BREATHLESS as I was UTTERLY BEGUILED with this book!!! Like fireworks on the Fourth of July, I was ALL IN! I’ve was never into crime-solving suspense until now. Now I was glued to a novel that suddenly gripped me hard, holding me in its clutches. Keep Her Safe CLICKED and I was HOOKED!!!

I was UTTERLY SPELLBOUND … SPINNING from this sea of suspense where I was rendered SPEECHLESS!!! My HEART POUNDED with each page as I felt the current of Keep Her Safe flow through me. Keep Her Safe kept me turning the pages, anxious for answers. I began solving the crimes with these characters as this suspense slowly unfolded. Another great novella from Rebecca that makes you feel like you’re getting a full story. That’s why I love her writing so much. Her capability to get in all the pertinent info and have a whole story play out in a shorter read. Don’t get me wrong, I would always love more, but I’m let satisfied.

This book was no different. They are fighting a deadly outbreak of Scorpious and homeland security is desperately trying to save the world. It’s touch and go. Ellie and Hugh who went to school together have all the feelings they kept inside all those years back, come to the surface. They will do anything to keep each other safe. Overall, a great read. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for more.

Ellie cleared her throat. “You’d need one of the best hackers in the world to do that. There are safeguards upon safeguards in place for coolants.”

Hugh nodded. “Yeah. If I was going to attack a nuclear power plant, I’d have the best in the world in my pocket.” His body started to ache and he released each muscle to try uselessly to rid himself of tension. “Then I’d plant explosives around the spent fuel.”

“It’s nice you’ve planned this out,” Connor muttered.

Hugh flashed a grin, amusement filling him. They were truly suspicious of him. “It’s my job. At least, it was my job.” He had a feeling everything had just changed.

“Suspects?” Deke asked.

Ellie pressed a button, and faces started filling the wall screen. “We’ve narrowed it down to five organizations in the states. Two homegrown and three Hugh has been watching for a year. They have the skills and means.”

“It’s one of these?” Ivan asked, leaning forward.

Hugh ran through the data. “Maybe. We don’t know who else has shown up the last month as we all concentrated on Scorpius and the outbreak. There could be players on our soil that I haven’t tracked.”

“Just great,” Connor said, eyeing the screen. “What now?”

Ellie set her papers down. “We go to the sites and look for anything out of the ordinary. I can only get into the computers onsite and not remotely.”

“Affirmative.” Deke shoved away from the table. “As of right now, you all have top-level clearance. There’s nothing you can’t request or see.” He assisted Nora from her chair. “I think you’re right about New York. Resources have been sent to the bigger cities for protection, and it’d be too hard to hit.”

Man, Hugh hoped he was right. “Or that’s what they’re expecting we’ll think.”

Deke nodded. “Aye. That. For now, we check out the other two plants. Nora, Ivan, and I will fly to Pennsylvania since private planes haven’t been grounded yet. Ivan has expertise here as well. Eleanor, Hugh, and Connor? You guys fly to the Arizona plant. I’ll ask the new president to grease the wheels for you.”

Connor stood. “And if Hugh is a problem?”

“Shoot him,” Deke said absently.

Hugh coughed. Wonderful. He was going to work with these people?

Connor moved for the door. “Everyone needs to be properly suited up. Satellite phone, weapons, and protective gear. I have everything ready in the armory.”

Hugh kept his face blank. Protective gear? Something told him that didn’t mean condoms.

Just what the hell had he gotten involved in?

It’s not often when I sit and stare at the last line of a story I finished and am left STUNNED SPEECHLESS!!! Three days. It took me three days to process Tijan Meyer’s latest soul-clenching story and translate my emotions into words. This story was UNEXPECTED, so UTTERLY RAW and REAL that my emotions are still reeling from its impact. Ryan’s Bed is a book I dove into blindly but one that made me see. I KNEW that this broken and beautiful book would BREAK ME, and that it did. Ryan’s Bed cut me open and I’m still BLEEDING.
