It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

People who are meant to be together find their way back. They may take a few detours, but they’re never lost.

There is something special about second-chance love that summons the soul. Soul mates who have always loved each other are granted another chance. Their hearts, cut in half from being apart, find their way back to each other and become whole again. Second-chance love stories call to me like a kindred spirit. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover was my kindred spirit too.

NAKED TRUTH: This second-chance romance immediately became my obsession…my heart…my soul…my drug…my kryptonite.

It Ends with Us is a heart-pounding tale of second-chance love that bleeds angst and burns the soul in a firestorm of feels that touches every part of you.

I wanted to wait…taking my time to soak up every powerful and poignant word of It Ends with Us. I wanted to rush…tearing through these pages as the adrenaline from this thrilling yet tender tale coursed through the story straight to me.

With my heart beating out of my chest with the extreme excitement of my first Colleen Hoover book, I dove in and barely surfaced for air, almost completely ignoring everyone and everything, until the end. I WAS ALL IN.

It Ends with Us quickly became my adrenaline…my ache…my addiction…MY EVERYTHING. The words pounded from the pages to my already-pounding heart as I FELT EVERY WORD I READ. This soul-searing story sucked me in like a hurricane, whirling me around in a merry-go-round of emotions that entangled around my heart and soul, never letting go.

NAKED TRUTH: I knew that It Ends with Us would be one of the most gripping and gut-wrenching stories I’ve ever read…and that it was. The intensity of this heart-wrenching story burned through me like fire…pulse-pounding and powerful.

“There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.”

Beautiful red-haired and blue-eyed Lily Bloom has seen utter devastation in her young life, but like a flower, she’s blossomed into a successful business woman. Lily bonds over grief one night with a handsome neurosurgeon, Ryle Kinkaid, who ignites a spark from the start. However, Lily doesn’t need nor have time for a relationship or any involvement with a man right now.

“I am a brave and bold businesswoman with zero f**ks to give for men in scrubs.”

Ryle is all alpha—assertive, cocky, and stubborn—traits Lily avoids in men as she never had a good example of a good man. She doesn’t want to be attracted to the gorgeous doctor because he’s a player who wants Lily for maybe just a night.

“Oh, I want you, Lily. Make no mistake about that. I just don’t want to want you.”

IEWU Teaser 2.png

Ryle wants Lily but doesn’t do relationships. Lily is trying to focus on her new business and doesn’t do one-night stands or flings so it’s best to get Ryle out of her head before he creeps into her heart. It’s hard to ignore Ryle when Lily keeps bumping into him. Add that to the undeniable chemistry that surrounds them, and Lily is putty in Ryle’s surgical-wielding hands.

“When I’m with you, I feel like I get to have my cake and eat it, too.”

Oh did Doctor McDreamy make me swoon with his sweet words to Lily. A new relationship develops between Ryle and Lily on shaky ground, one that formed fast where they are wading into new territory. The deeper Lily and Ryle’s relationship gets, the more Lily’s thoughts surface back to the past to her first love, Atlas Corrigan, the man who owned half of her heart since they were teens.

“How do you tell your brand-new boyfriend that you’re trying to avoid your first love?”

When Lily’s first love collides with her current love, past to present, the relationship waters get murky. Atlas has always been her kindred spirt and protector. Their teenage love story was supposed to last forever but abruptly ended, leaving two broken hearts along the way, perhaps three if you count mine.

“In the future . . . if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again . . . fall in love with me.” He presses his lips against my forehead. “You’re still my favorite person, Lily. Always will be.”

IEWU Teaser.png

Oh how did my heart race for Atlas! This beautiful man make me swoon and melt to mush. Atlas is pure perfection with a heart of pure gold. I loved this hero so much! I was owned by Atlas. I was owned by It Ends with Us.

“Heaviness follows and it presses down on every part of me. So much gravity, pushing down on my emotions. Everything shatters. My tears, my heart, my laughter, my soul. Shattered like broken glass, raining down around me.”

Chills ran through me. My breaths were bated. My pulse raced. My heart quickly broke as tragedy struck…again and again. Tears streamed down my face as waves of despair crashed through Lily, crashing through me.

“Five minutes. That’s all it takes to completely destroy a person.”

I was shocked….gutted…destroyed.

“It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us.”

NAKED TRUTH: I began and ended this story in tears.

NAKED TRUTH: It Ends with Us is one of the most profound books I’ve ever read, one that danced itself into me deeply, straight to my soul, where I felt naked inside.

This story is so personal that it felt like an invasion upon reading. Deep. Dynamic. Devastatingly beautiful. It Ends with Us connected to me from the start, one that tore at my heart. I was rendered powerless to this story’s power, its force, which awakened everything inside of me: body…mind…heart…soul.

NAKED TRUTH: I regret sitting on Colleen Hoover’s books and hoarding them for so long…I’m embarrassed that I did not jump on all this CoHo book bliss sooner.

I finally met a Colleen Hoover book and oh what a roller coaster of a romance it was! My soul was slayed and my heart was hit hard…one hurricane of feels and a soul storm that won’t leave me! I FELL FAST. I FELL HARD. I FELL IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING IN IT ENDS WITH US.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Colleen Hoover’s wonderful writing, but I was a fool to procrastinate. This author is one of my new favorites: those who write from the heart where their hearts are poured into those beautiful and brilliant words. You live and breathe these authors’ stories where you can feel their hearts imprinted all over their wondrous words.

It Ends with Us is not simply a broken and beautiful romance; it’s a story about LIFE AND LIVING. It’s a story of STRENGTH and SURVIVAL. It’s about taking that LEAP OF FAITH and FOLLOWING YOUR HEART. I quickly learned that EVERY WORD MATTERS that Colleen Hoover writes, those words that instantly come to life…so meaningful, mesmerizing, and magnificent.

Those devastatingly beautiful books that authors pen like paint to a canvas, so vivid and valuable…THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT STEAL MY SOUL AND OWN ME FOR LIFE. Colleen Hoover is one of those writers who pour their hearts and souls into their stories that tear at the reader’s heart and soul, these stories that break you, bind you, and brandish themselves to you in a bath of beauty where you’ll remember them forever.

NAKED TRUTH: It Ends with Us is one of my top romance reads of 2016 and ever.

It Ends with Us is heart, heartbreak, hope, and happiness in a story with a huge hit that you won’t see coming. This book?!? THIS BOOK WILL BREAK YOUR HEART IN THE BEST WAY! OH DID I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH!

NAKED TRUTH: It Ends with Us stole a piece of my soul that will remain stuck in this story forever.

“All humans make mistakes. What determines a person’s character aren’t the mistakes we make. It’s how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.”

★★★★★ ‘but worth 10’ broken and beautiful ‘naked truth’ stars

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

Review – Drunk on Love by S.L. Scott

Drunk on Love by S.L. Scott

I feel as though I’m glowing. Maybe it’s because I’m drunk on Drunk on Love. Maybe because this new release from SL Scott was so light, fresh and fun. Not to mention really sexy and oh so hot!

Hardy & Virginia are just so likeable. So easy to connect with. From the first meet they have a very strong, very intense, passionate connection that just SIZZLES and BURNS!

I ADORED that this book was written from Hardy’s POV, the all male outlook was so refreshing and powerful. He dragged me so deep into his story, into his heart and now he’s fully in mine. SL writes such good male characters that you can’t help but fall for, although this has a bigger comedic feel from her other books, the standard of the male character is still just as strong. Just as loveable and oh so adorable.
Drunk on Love is so uplifting, the storyline so different from many others. SL writes the whole thing so fluidly, so flawlessly, so beautifully. Everything about it, from beginning to end made me smile and it gave me all those warm, fuzzy feels.

Drunk on Love is an outstanding read that is worth so many more than the 5 stars I can give!

There are only two rules:

1. Don’t get too close.

2. Don’t fall in love.

Correction: Don’t ever fall in love. I don’t need the baggage of relationships. Life should be simple, easy, uncomplicated.

The problem I’m faced with is, if I really believe life should be that easy, that uncomplicated, and that simple, then why am I still thinking about a woman I met on a random Tuesday at the bar? A girl who was never a Gimlet, and always a Paloma. Yep, I called it all wrong last night and I’m starting to wonder if my heart will pay the price.

I might have broken rule number one, but rule number two remains firmly intact. For now. Sort of. Okay, maybe rule two hasn’t been broken, but it’s definitely been bent.

Drunk on Love is LIVE!

Billionaire Caleb Blackstone lives in the glamorous world of wealth and success, with every material luxury. But the moment he sees Brooke Casterley, none of that matters. Caleb is filled with a raw, undeniable need that he can’t ignore…for a girl who is so completely different from everything and everyone he’s ever known.

Only Brooke isn’t looking for love. She knows all too well just how much damage the wrong guy can do. Still, what sane, broke British girl can resist the charms of an incredibly sexy, chivalrous billionaire? What starts as flirtation quickly turns into all-consuming passion. Nothing could have prepared her for the searing heat of Caleb’s touch—or just how much she craves him.

After a lifetime of lies, deceit and betrayal, Jackson Stone isn’t a man who trusts easily—with women being at the top of the list. Now he’s all about control in every aspect of his life. Especially between the sheets. Hot, mutual pleasure with a woman? No problem, as long as he’s in charge.

But there’s something different about sexy bartender Tara Kent that he finds irresistible, in bed and out. Something that has him willing to compromise his principles and bend his rules. Let the sinning begin.

My career is finally looking up, and I’m leading a new pro team down the field every Sunday. No way will I mess with that. But when I meet the most stunning and captivating woman I’ve ever seen, I tell myself one night will have to be enough.

But it’s not. And now I can’t get her out of my mind. Even when I’m playing. Even when I need to focus. Even when I’m on the hottest streak of my life. And it turns out, she’s not just some random woman I met. She works for the team. My team.

I only have one goal this season–do my part as the team’s lawyer to keep them out of trouble. Help rebuild their reputation on and off the field. There’s no room for error and certainly no room for a secret tryst with a player . . . even if he’s the quarterback.

Brotherhood is what Bull bleeds and all that he knows. Being the king of The Devil’s Dust and surrounded by easy women was his everyday… until having his heart broke rooted him to the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Heartbroken, and drowning in lost memories he’s unsure of the direction of his life, when the answer – consisting of a terrified Mexican girl- nearly knocks him off his feet.

Determined to get his act together and rectify his club, he rides to Texas for answers, only to be confronted with the emotional ghosts he isn’t ready to deal with. He sees Anahi, and he wants her. But she may come with more baggage than Bull is ready for.

I’m a doctor. Mobster. Killer. My hands are covered in filth. I don’t have the right to touch anything as clean and pure as Ellison MacAllister.

I distance myself … always remaining obscure, composed, restrained.
Careful to never allow my eyes to linger too long. Careful to hide my interest. Careful to keep my burning desire buried beneath the surface. I do it for her—suffer in silence—because it’s what is best for the woman I love. And she has no idea.

She’ll be initiated as a Fellowship member soon. One of my mafia brothers will go through endurance so he’ll earn the right to claim her. Make her his wife.  Kill. Me. Slowly.

Chelsea Dwyer arrives home from her job at the middle-school library in Latham Hills, Michigan, expecting another quiet evening—until she hears the screams for help through her living room window. As the first witness to a terrible accident involving two local students, Chelsea doesn’t anticipate how her own life will be irrevocably changed by the father of one of the boys. In the wake of tragedy, she’s the only one who seems to understand his grief. Chelsea’s a survivor, too—and she knows that there are brighter days ahead.

As a single father, Aidan Deveraux worked his entire life to provide a stable home for his son, Derrick. Without him, Aidan feels the deepest despair imaginable. The one thing that keeps him going is his connection with the woman who tried to save his son. Hard as he tries, Aidan just can’t stay away. Chelsea’s warm embrace is the comforting solace he desperately craves—and it doesn’t hurt that Aidan had noticed the beautiful librarian and wanted to ask her out for years. Now that she’s in his life, he doesn’t ever want to let go.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding. I should have ignored it. Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied. With a plus one. And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear of him. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me. But I didn’t.

Jack Valentini isn’t my type. Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave.

Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so. But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles. His huge, hard muscles.

Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop. And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife left him broken and bitter and blaming himself.

He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness. But he’s wrong. I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last.

At a boxing gym in Chicago, Mary Monahan accidentally knocks out the most handsome man she’s ever met. After she wakes him up with a few slaps and some smelling salts, the very first thing he does is ask her out for ribs and beer. His name is Jimmy. He looks like a Gillette model. And he’s just too hunky to resist.

Jimmy “The Falcon” Falconi is mystified that Mary has absolutely no idea who he is. Mystified and refreshed. He is, after all, not your everyday NFL quarterback. He shops at Costco, has a soft spot for Pinterest, and is in the midst of an epic losing streak.

Jimmy falls for Mary fast and hard, the way he does everything—balls out and like it’s fourth and long. And he realizes he’s finally met his match. That stamina he’s so proud of? Doesn’t stand a chance against her Kegels.

Jillian Lima’s whole world was destroyed in a span of a few hours. The same night her childhood love, Brock ‘the Beast’ Mitchell, broke her heart, her life was irrevocably altered by the hand of a stranger with a gun. It takes six years to slowly glue together the shattered pieces of her life, but Jillian is finally ready to stop existing in a past full of pain and regret.

She just never expected Brock to be a part of her life again. But he’s firmly back in her life before she knows it, and not only is he older, he’s impossibly more handsome, more teasing and more everything. And when he sees Jillian, he’s no longer capable of thinking of her as the little girl who was his shadow growing up or the daughter of the man who gave him a second chance at life. He sees the woman who’d always been there for him, the one person who believed in him no matter what.

Brock knows she’s the one he should’ve made his.

My life with Jackson is nothing short of perfection. He is my love, my husband, the one man in all the world who makes me feel alive and whole. Our careers are on track. Our family is growing. And the ghosts of our past have been vanquished – or so I believed.

When a wonderful night of sensuality and passion following a masquerade ball turns dark with the news that haunting, horrible photographs of me have surfaced, my old fears and insecurities threaten to knock me down, and it is only within Jackson’s arms that I find the strength to endure.

But even Jackson’s protection may not be able to save us, because I know my husband well. And he will do whatever it takes—even if it means risking himself—in order to protect our family…

Meet Tobias Banger…He’s the demanding, dominant, sexy-as-sin CEO of Banger Industries, and he’s used to getting what he wants. Every time. He’s built a Fortune 500 company from the ground up. The last thing he needs is a pretty woman distracting him from his empire.

Curvy, sassy secretary Ellis Ford isn’t just any pretty woman…
Fresh out of college, she’s smart, focused, sometimes sarcastic, and trying desperately to contain the wildfire that licks at her insides whenever Mr. Banger calls her name.

One forbidden night while locked in a closet, and the office will never be the same…The chemistry between Ellis and Tobias sizzles until raw passion ignites in a frenzy of filthy words, frantic lust, and all-consuming basic instinct. He’s hell-bent on claiming her. She’s too blinded by his charm to see the ghosts haunting his dark eyes. Will one night with Tobias be something she’ll live to regret?

She has no idea what she’s doing. Loose cannons never hit their targets. And they take out plenty of collateral damage.

Four years ago Lindsay experienced the unspeakable right before me, and I couldn’t stop them. But that’s all changed now.

When her father, Senator Bosworth, contacted me to ask — demand — that I protect her, it was a second chance. A shot at redemption. An opportunity to right an unspeakable wrong.

Controlling Lindsay as she seeks her revenge on the monsters who hurt her won’t be hard. Containing my own out-of-control feelings for Lindsay and keeping up this ruse of cold-blooded distance will be. Even harder than admitting to her what really happened that night four years ago.

It turns out I don’t have to, though. Someone else did it for me. And I’ll make sure they regret it.

From the moment I laid eyes on her, I was doomed. Quinn Whitmore was unlike any other woman in the world. She was it for me. That spark, that instant connection, became my sole purpose for breathing. Her laugh would take over a room. Her smile brought me to my knees. And her body was…pure perfection.

When I met Quinn, she was fresh off a nasty breakup and had ruled out all men. She wanted to spend the week in the Rocky Mountains unplugged from the world, unwinding and focusing on herself.
So I decided to let it go. But my mind wouldn’t. Every thought suddenly became consumed with Quinn, and I knew I had to have her. So when she finally agreed to a week of just sex, no strings attached, I took the deal and ran. It would give me time to fuck my Quinn obsession out of my head.  But, man, was I wrong. A week wasn’t enough. A lifetime wouldn’t be enough.
The problem…Quinn was hiding a secret–a secret that would ruin my life. And ruin it she did.

Olivia Bridge has always been a good girl—good grades, good friends, and a good job that her wealthy parents handed her. Desperate to carve out a life that is truly hers, Liv walks away from it all and takes on the challenge of helping her brothers open a chain of fitness centers in New York City. Just as she’s beginning to find her footing in a new place, she’s caught between two men who couldn’t be more determined to turn all her goodness inside out.

Will Donovan has the capital to make the Bridge brothers’ entrepreneurial dreams a reality. Taking their uptight sister to bed seems a reasonable perk for the risk. Liv is the smartest, sexiest prude Will’s ever met, and he can’t wait to break her down.

Life is too short for Ian Savo to play by anyone’s rules. Sharing women with his best friend isn’t anything new, so when Will introduces him to Liv, he can’t wait to get a taste. But falling for the same girl, or falling at all, was never in the plans…

After that close-up of his package on the sailboat in Morocco, TMZ started calling him Crown Jewels. Not that I keep track of Prince Liam. Definitely don’t stalk him online like my friends do. I’m out of that scene now. My family’s reality show might still be running, but I’ve been off-screen for a while.

Prince Liam—my stalking his Instagram—that’s just for fun. It’s my dirty little secret. Trust me, I’m the only woman in the world who doesn’t actually want him.

Except I’m back in the Hamptons for the first time in two years. I’m at a party, and Prince Manwhore is here as well. I tell myself that smile has no effect on me. That his ridiculous charisma is a parlor trick I see right through.

After our one night together, no one knows that I succumbed.  It doesn’t matter. It meant nothing. Not until I see those two pink lines.

In a sprint, every millisecond counts. When you’re waiting for love, those milliseconds can feel like eons.

His saving grace? Lois “Laney” Sanders, a girl he started to fall in like with when he was just eleven. A girl who became his best friend, his confidant, his courage.

It took only sixteen clicks and eight seconds for Lucas to realize that his like for Laney had turned into love.  Eight life-changing seconds. It’s also the exact length of time it took to lose her.

A cowboy can’t resist a damsel in distress.

Brad Anderson, the bullwhip master, has guarded his heart ever since a certain redhead broke it. After attending the wedding of his best friend, Master Anderson decides to find his own happy ending. However, it seems Fate has different plans when he finds himself protecting a damsel in distress.

Will this cowboy at heart ever let down his guard long enough to allow true love to flow in? Find out what happens when love and loyalty meet fate head on.

I’ve made mistakes. Some of those mistakes have ruined lives, including my own. Because of this, my past is something I have kept to myself, so when I found a woman who also wanted her past to remain hidden, it felt like the universe was pushing us together.

It turns out the universe had nothing to do with that. If a person’s past doesn’t exist, the present may not unravel the way it should.

I found out the hard way, when I learned that my wife is not who I thought she was…living with a past I should know about. Her continuous self-destructive behaviors let me know she clearly has a plan—possibly one I never should have been a part of. I keep trying to save her, but she’s making it hard.

Now, both of our pasts have simultaneously rolled into the spotlight—colliding head-on, and causing the present to come crashing down on top of us.

He’s not perfect, but he’s all I want…

I’m your average girl at your average high school, trying to figure out my place in life. After catching my now ex-boyfriend messing around with my now ex-best friend, I’ve made some big changes. No more band, no more backstabbing friends and no more boring old life. Now I have new friends, a new job and new interests.

But there’s a certain someone who’s interested in me, and I don’t get it. Jordan Tuttle could have anyone he wants. He’s the most popular boy in school. Rich, gorgeous, smart and the star quarterback, he’s perfect. Yet he acts like he wants no one else but…me. So despite my fears and doubt, I let him get close. Probably too close. I discover that he’s not so perfect after all, but it doesn’t matter. I’m falling for him, even though he runs so hot and cold. I know someday he’s going to break my heart.

And I’m going to let him.

My name is Maggie May and I met him under a haze of purple lights. As cliché as it sounds he was tall, dark, and handsome as hell, and I had fireworks in my eyes…literally.

It was New Year’s Eve and beneath the magic of all that glitters and shines, I fell for him and his wicked ways. The way he moved, the way he touched me, the way he brought me to org@sm over and over.

You should know that I don’t believe in love. Fairytales and happily-ever-afters are never anything I’ve dreamed of…until him.

Something changed the moment our eyes met. It wasn’t insta-lust or insta-love, it was simply him and me, and the dance floor at our feet.

The problem is our story ended three days after it started. But now he’s back. And he says he’s sorry. Can I believe him? Do I want to believe him? He calls me his bedwrecker…but what if he wrecks me?

Carina Painter lives a life she created in between the pages of her bestselling novel. At least, that’s what she outwardly portrays. When an author asks to interview him for a fiction novel, he’s ready to pour his heart out no matter the cost.

He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.

Did I mention his body?

Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist—and cocky bastard—stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled. And easily seduced.

I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin. What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it…love.

But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.

Life has not been easy for Penelope Summers. Specifically, the last month, when her high-profile boyfriend dumped her, her indecent exposure record surfaced, and her favorite thing in the world, tequila, failed her.

Growing up in Ember Peak, Colorado, Jones nurtured dreams as big as the Rockies. Why else would a flat-broke college student believe he has a shot with Truitt Larkin, the billionaire CEO of Larkin Corp? What do you do when the strongest girl in the world falls apart? You hold her. And you stroke her hair. And you whisper to her that everything is going to be all right. Even if you’re not sure it will be.

I’m Drew Garrick, and I was never supposed to fall in love with Gillian Ambrose. It wasn’t part of the plan. Sleep with her? Yes. Have a good time with her while our best friends fell in love? Yes. But fall for her? Never.

The plan changed the moment her brother was released from prison, and all the dangers of his old life reared their ugly heads.

“Protect her,” he said. And that’s what I promised to do. Whatever it took.

Waitressing at a seedy strip club isn’t ideal, but it pays Sarah Adamson’s tuition. Her goal is to finish her master’s program and get a job that doesn’t involve tight skirts and groping hands. At thirteen years old I was sold, doomed to become a sex slave.
Nicholai Ivanov, boss of the Russian Bratva, gave me the ultimate gift. He saved me from a fate worse than death. He promised to make me strong, because only the strong survive, and the weak die, forgotten and inconsequential.

I now live in a world of blood and violence, where humanity itself is a weakness. My life is not a battle of bad and good, but bad and worse. This is kill or be killed, survival of the fittest.

Make me or break me?

Train swore never to let a woman get under his skin unless it meant forever, and forever only meant belonging to The Last Riders. He had believed his one brief sexual encounter with Killyama was a hit it and quit it. Instead, her green eyes haunted his memories. Then when he tried to convince the woman he was serious as his “more the merrier” lifestyle became a painful reminder of the life he lived, Killyama used his own club against him to keep him from what he wanted.

Killyama was holding out for a man who could offer her forever, and Train wasn’t the forever kind of man. He was a Mr. Here and Now; the wicked warrior in her dreams. He might be a walking, talking sex machine, but she needed more than that. So, until he proved she was the only one sharing his bed, the only part of her body he was going to see was her ass walking away.

Follow his feelings or stay strong, doing what he was here to do.  Now he has to decide between the job he loves and the man who could change everything. Life for Drake was easy before he went Undercover.

Benny had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick.
Just like him, his dolly needed darkness as a fix, fix, fix.
So they tormented and hunted and played tricks, tricks, tricks.
Together their sins a lethal mix, mix, mix.

Until Benny missed his dolly who was lost, lost, lost.
He needed to find her and love her at any cost, cost, cost.
Not wanting him and his dolly to be alone, lone, lone.

I left my soul open. I left my heart open. I left the door open.
And he stole me. Dillon…I’m sorry.

“I met her at an all-time low . . . the worst night of my life—a time I never wanted to remember.”

“It was a night I could never forget.”

“When it came to women, I swore I was done with wishful thinking. Ball and my coaching career were all that mattered.”

“I reminded him it wasn’t.”

“She was everything I was afraid of.”

“He was everything I’d ever wanted.”

Ashley Riggs’ life was forever changed when she was only seventeen years old. Thrust into a world of darkness, scarred at the hands of many, and left abandoned in a cage, her hope is found in the man who rescues her from the clutches of hell. Day by day, he breathes life into her, and her heart becomes his. But when she longs for more, her savior turns his back on her, insistent that he cannot give her what she wants.

Yakov Chekov is certain that evil runs in his veins. Direct descendant of the late Ivan Chekov—the poison that infected the Russian Bratva in ways that cannot be forgiven, and the father he murdered in the name of justice—Yakov fears he cannot love as a man should. Yet, try as he might, pushing away his sweet girl, in order to protect her from himself, proves to be impossible.

The nightmares find me. They steal my breath, slowly suffocating me. I’m scared. I want it to stop.

He’s supposed to help me. Instead, he evokes something forbidden.

I know I should run. But I can’t. I’ve made my choice. I want him.

There’s only one problem…

He’s my therapist.

I’ve always thought of myself as a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of person. I wanted to save the world, or at least leave my stamp behind. In my own naïve way I thought I could bribe karma but life has a way of teaching us lessons.

I never knew how selfish I was until my life was ripped away from me. Taken. I’m forced to watch as they torture and kill my family … and I know I’m next.

Then he comes. He made a promise to my brother. It’s the only thing keeping him bound to me. A promise to protect me.

I should set him free of the promise … but I don’t. He’s my shield against karma. He’s my protector.

Former police psychologist Ronni Alexander had it all before a poison attacked her heart and gave her a death sentence. Now, on her last leg, she has an opportunity to live if she mates a vampire. Well, except for the vampire whose dominance is over the top, and who has no clue how to deal with a modern woman who can take care of herself.

Jared Reese, who has no intention of ever mating for anything other than convenience, agrees to help out his new sister in law by saving her friend’s life with a quick tussle in bed. Except after one night with Ronni, one moment of her sighing his name, and he wants more than a mating of convenience. Now all he has to do is convince Ronni she wants the same thing. Good thing he’s up for a good battle.

Her life destroyed by a stalker, Uzuri Cheval starts anew in Tampa and joins the exclusive Shadowlands club. Unconvinced of her claims that she can overcome her fear of big men without help, Master Z gives her a time limit. And she is improving–until she hears the stalker is out of prison. Now her time limit is up, and the Masters will intervene, which is okay–as long as whoever helps her is short. Okay, sweet and gentle would be good, too.

But two Doms? Dangerously experienced and dauntingly powerful cousins? No way.

Having volunteered in every hellhole in the world, Dr. Alastair Drago is ready to settle down. Detective Max Drago has joined him and, once again, the cousins share everything. A house, lives, problems…and whatever submissive catches their interest. One mischievous submissive has definitely caught Alastair’s. Review – Swing by Adriana Locke

The Landry brothers are slowly but surely becoming some of my favorites! Swoony, sexy… so so sexy. So much swagger and determination to have the women they crave. Lincoln – Mr. Baseball himself – is absolutely no exception.

Lincoln is a talented athlete with so much heart. His love for his family is only rivaled by his love of baseball. After living in the shadow of a high powered politico, a financial wizard and a decorated solider, baseball is the one thing that Lincoln feels he is good at… the only way to stand out, and now that’s in jeopardy because of a terrible shoulder injury. But then he meets Danielle and she changes everything in Lincoln’s world.

Danielle spends her days caring for sick children. She never expected the delightfully delicious Lincoln Landry to show up on her ward and tilt her world on its axis. She has her own reasons for staying away from baseball players – especially players like Lincoln. She doesn’t plan on giving Linc a chance to change her mind about seeing him. She fights the temptation…. and fights some more. But Lincoln Landry is no quitter – on or off the field.

These two are so sexy and sensual together but also so side splitting funny as well! Lincoln and Huxley together are absolutey HILARIOUS! How could Dani resist those two? Lincoln is relentless with his dirty mouth, delicious body and over the top boyish charm. Danielle is just one of Adriana’s best leading ladies because she’s real, determined and so compassionate. The chemistry between these two is so right from the very beginning. They balance each other and Dani fits so very well into the Landry family. They simply opened their arms and welcomed her in. How could you not love them?

I finished this Landry book feeling just glorious! Lincoln and Dani were so refreshing and so much fun to read! Even when they faced some obstacles to being together, they still had my heart fluttering and my soul just plain happy! Now, let’s see what Graham Landry in store for us…

5 Swing and a HOME RUN stars!

Marriage couple in the hotel's room

Screw him and his perfect stats.
Sinful smirk.
Delicious body.
Lincoln Landry probably even has game-winning stamina.

I’d like to screw her and her perfect ass.
Dangerous curves.
Sweet smile.
Ryan Danielle Ashley probably even has a game-changing personality.

There’s no denying the chemistry between them. It’s so fiery, it’s undeniable. They partake in it. Enjoy it.
They really enjoy it.
Attraction is not a problem. Nor is their banter, relationship status, or habits. That’s all fine. Perfect, actually.
The problem is as tangled up as their sheets.

A lighthearted and sexy STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke.

Handsome muscular man posing in studio

Screw him and his perfect resume.
And flawless face.
And delicious body.
And probably game-winning stamina. I’m going to be a mess today just thinking about it.
“Why was he in your office?” Macie asks, right as I was ready to mentally remove his clothes. “Oh my God, Danielle! I just pulled him up. Why can’t I be you? Just for a day?”
“I’m quite happy I’m me today,” I laugh. “He just walked off the elevator on the wrong floor and followed me to my office.”
“Does it matter? Now I’m sitting here with wet panties, his ‘Fuck me’ cologne filling my office, and all sorts of ideas as to what his body looks like under those sweatpants and t-shirt.”

Review – Jaded Hearts by Harper Sloan

JH Cover.png

Jaded Hearts by Harper Sloan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jaded heart how you will see. Once the fog rolls away, it was all just a fantasy. This heart jaded, never had to be. ~Jamie Ellen Christian

The best love is often the one that is unexpected, a firestorm of feels you never saw coming but one that steals your heart…your body…your soul. Books are like love; we get lost in them. We feel them. We live in them. Harper Sloan threw a curveball my way in a love story that rocked my world, one I did not see coming, but one where I INSTANTLY FELL HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE. Jaded Hearts stole my heart in a romantic rocker story full of smolder, swoon, and soul!

I plunged myself into Jaded Hearts with an itch that only a rock star story could scratch. This book buzzed with excitement, Jaded Hearts an enticing and edgy tale that I devoured with the hunger of a groupie at a concert. Pulse pounding like a drum. Body buzzing like a guitar. Emotions flowing like a moving melody. Soul singing to the music of this masterpiece.

Jaded Hearts buzzed with brilliance and hummed with heart. The words seduced me, lyrics of love that danced on my heart and sent my soul soaring to heaven, as I felt the music and magic of Jaded Hearts move through every part of me. I WAS ALL IN AND I WANTED TO STAY.

Wrenlee Davenport, the beautiful singer of Loaded Replay, is jaded. The fiery redhead with piercing blue eyes is done with people using her, those who only see the voice and not the person.

JH teaser 2.png

No man has been worthy of a piece of Wren’s heart…no man until tall and muscular, dark-haired, blue-green-eyed, all-alpha god, Chance Nash, stormed into her life as her security guard. What Wren may need guarding the most is her heart as it beat for Chance from the start, an attraction beyond physical desire.

“You don’t want to go down that road, Wren. I’ll protect you from the world, but you need to protect yourself from me.”

Despite the intense attraction to the beautiful singing goddess Chance was hired to protect, he must keep his head in the game and fight the force of combustible chemistry that ignites like fire between them. Wren wants Chance, the first man who sees Wren along with Wrenlee.

“Oh, Chance, you won’t win. You might think you will, but mark my words, I will have you, and you’re going to love it. Every. Single. Second.”

Oh now I wanted to be besties with Wren, one of the most badass heroines I could not help but love! This bold woman with brass balls is simply brilliant! Wren is determined to have this man who is slowly picking up the pieces of her jaded heart and making it whole.

“His mouth opens, and his tongue meets mine, no hesitation whatsoever, as he deepens the kiss.”

That kiss is the turning point. That passion permeates through them…through me…one so physically strong and heartfelt that it can’t be denied. Wren finally sees a man who wants her for Wren, the woman, not Wrenlee the singer…and she needs to convince Chance to take a chance on her…on love…and cure each other’s jaded hearts.

“Both of us wear the jaded scars of our past.”

Chance’s resolve is crumbling, Wren is breaking down his walls. Chance is woven in Wren’s web, and there is no going back. Oh did this book burn with passion and bleed with angst!

“The second I feel your body ripple against my c**k, you will be mine, Wrenlee…If we’re taking a gamble together, it’s all in, or we fold before the call.”

I. WAS. ON. FIRE and Chance was the heat!!! Oh did Chance, this amazing all-alpha, melt me from head to toe. The heat set me ablaze, as I burned along with this sweet, sensual and seductive story.

“You’re going to destroy me.”

“We’re going to destroy each other and then put the pieces back together, so there aren’t any more cracks.”

Wren knows what…who…she wants and that’s Chance. Her jaded heart is ready to become whole. Wren is ready to take a chance on Chance and not let the one man who sees the woman and not just the rock star go.

“You’re going to be my undoing, Wren.”

I fell fast and hard for all-alpha, Chance, and beautiful and badass, Wren. I fell fast and hard for the secondary characters, the bandmates that included Wren’s brother and childhood friends. I fell fast and hard for Jaded Hearts, a fairy tale of a rocker romance where Cinderella grabs her Prince, and they rescue each other. I fell fast for Harper Sloan’s wondrous words as this author’s books only get better and better. I FELL FAST AND HARD…JADED HEARTS AND ALL!

Jaded Hearts is one enticing, edgy, emotionally-entwined tale of unexpected love. Oh did I LOVE EVERY MINUTE! Harper Sloan thrust me into the thrilling music scene, painting a vivid picture where I went on a virtual tour with the band, feeling the rush in a music world that became my world too. Jaded Hearts was PURE MAGIC—penned and painted to perfection—in a movie that played in my head while reading.

I smoldered. I sweated. I swooned. I felt this love story too. Jaded Hearts melted my heart with magic in a book that is UTTER BRILLIANCE. The perfect fusion of heat and heart in a hit of a rocker romance, Jaded Hearts ROCKED MY WORLD. My heart is now a bit jaded in that I have to say goodbye to this spellbinding rock star romance.

★★★★★ magically ‘must take a chance’ loaded stars

Signing with Brighthouse Records was supposed to be everything we ever wanted—our better life. Our chance at everything we never had but always wanted. All our dreams would finally come true and we were on top of the world. It was our chance at the happiness we never had in life.

Our every desire was at our fingertips and the power of that feeling was all consuming. But then it took every dream we thought would come true and it slapped us in the face with the cold hard reality.

Dreams were just that…something that floated on the cusp of untouchable, taunting you with every graze of your fingertips before slipping even further away.

Happiness…that feeling is a joke.

In the end it became painfully obvious that each of us would always have each other, but we would forever be alone.

Review – Checkmate : This Is Love by Kennedy Fox

The King has returned! Someone please hold me, fan me and feed me all kinds of sweet stuff. Travis King has my heart pounding, pulse soaring and my stomach fluttering. This man, got even cockier, even hotter and even more desirable than the first time I met him. How you ask?! I know….Hard to believe right? How can he possibly be better than book one? Welp, take my word for it because he was! Way better. Kennedy Fox wrote him SUPERBLY!

Speaking of Kennedy Fox, can I just say I have no idea who these authors are separately but my gosh…. Together they are ASTOUNDING. Reading their words is like taking a breath of fresh air. Simple, uplifting and satisfying. Everything about this novel was FLAWLESS. From the continued growth of the characters to the blistering connection to the beautiful love story that resulted. FLAW-LESS!

Travis & Viola aka team Traviola which I’m on, TOTALLY. Are a match made in enemy heaven. This book brought us a huge development in their relationship but still, they had that SPARK. That FIRE. That downright intense, passionate, hate filled LUST that we first saw in book 1. Only this time, all of it was balanced perfectly with the breathtaking LOVE that develops.

I guess you’re all wanting to know if book two also packs the same scorching heat as book one? Well I can happily tell you that it does. And it’s MAGNIFIED. Gaming never looked or sounded SO FREAKING HOT before. *reaches for a fan* SO yeah… BOILING HOT. LITERALLY MELTING!

I was ALL IN with this story, this couple. Everything. From beginning to end they had me. Devoted. Obsessed. Consumed.

I found myself in such a hurry to reach the end but I also never wanted it to stop. Books that evoke so much passion and emotion are THE BEST. Undoubtedly. And this, is one of the BEST!

Kennedy Fox have once again made their move and what a move it was. Checkmate- This is Love, IS love, passion, heat, intensity, power.  And above all else MAGNIFICENT.

I’ll keep reading (and counting) as long as you two keep writing….

Viola Fisher is the epitome of perfection.

She despises my one-night stands and mocks my less-than-classy habits.

She’s smart, beautiful, and too good to be true.

And I want her.

If she were anyone else, I’d have made my move years ago, but considering she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s always been off-limits. Not to mention how much she loathes my very existence.

Hating me is her religion, but needing her is mine. Her sexy curves and filthy smart mouth make me want her even more, and I’m more determined than ever to change her mind.

I’ll prove I’m done playing games.

But until then, we’ll continue to play by her rules.

Viola Fisher may have won the battle, but the war isn’t over yet.

Checkmate, princess.

Review – Christmas Wishes by Karen Ferry

4.5 classical christmassy stars!

What better way to kick off December, the holiday season, than with a sweet, sexy Christmas novella?! Christmas Wishes by Karen Ferry was not only a perfect start but also HELLO GARRETT!!

Lord have I missed that man and all his dirty mouthed dominance. He’s FIIIIIIINNNNE! And SO, SO, HOT!

As a huge fan of Fool for Love this novella was a beautiful addition to the characters I loved. I took great pleasure in catching up with them and falling back in love with them. Karen managed to add in plenty of story that held my attention and allowed the story to flow and breathe in the direction it was supposed to go.

I also must add that Karen’s writing has improved SO FREAKING MUCH. Words hold so much more emotion, everything blends together perfectly. I could have happily read a full length novel based on this extra story, I was utterly captivated!

Christmas Wishes is sweet, sexy and romantic, definitely perfect for this holiday season!

Most lovers can’t wait to celebrate their first Christmas together –

but for Suzy and Garrett, the special season comes with a few surprises

I got the happily-ever-after that I had always hoped for. My life in New York seems like a fairy-tale – though my knight is not a white one. He is all the colours of the rainbow, and I love him more and more with each passing day.

Despite my happiness, I miss my home. I miss my parents. I miss my friends.

I wish I knew of a way to combine my past life with my present.

Maybe I can wish for a little Christmas magic?

She’s my light – the only one who can see into the depths of my soul. I’ll do anything to keep her happy. I wish she would let me inside her mind so I can help erase the shadows from her eyes.

Our happiness is interrupted when my family find themselves in trouble. I have to help them get back on the right track before it’s too late.

All they want is a Merry Christmas, but how is that possible when the outside world won’t let them?

Author’s Note: This is a novella in the Believe Series and it is important that you read Fool for Love first.

Review – Being Brooke by Emma Hart

I can’t breathe. I’m really struggling to take in a breath, because I’m smiling so damn big right now that it’s actually hurting my face. In fact if I’m honest I never stopped smiling through this book, from the first page to the very last Being Brooke has made me laugh, swoon, feel and love.

There was something incredibly refreshing about this book. It wasn’t all brooding asshole alpha and hot sex but dya know what, it didn’t need it. The whole story is captivating. It’s one of those books that just implants itself in your heart and refuses to let go. It was funny and filled with laugh out loud humour and sarcasm. Everything about this book screams rom com, done so perfectly, it’s one of my faves of the whole year.

Brooke aka the Hot Mess was an outstanding character. I loooooved her so freaking much. She is one of the realist characters I have ever read, her personality was infectious. I want to be friends with this woman, she’s one of those characters that you just connect with. And Emma, as usual wrote her superbly, not that I ever doubted her, Emma writes the best heroines!

And Cain, OMG Cain! Why, how, does Emma manage to write men that just RUIN every part of you? Because he will, every single damn part…RUINED. IN THE BEST WAY! There has not been one single Hart hero that I haven’t fallen head over heels with. And Cain! Cain! I actually have no words guys. Just YES! GAH! And ALL THE THINGS! Because he is, all the things!

He is the best friend, the guy you have loved forever, the guy that you can’t ever let know how you truly feel. Yup. I’ve been there, done that, and so FELT EVERY DAMN WORD OF THIS BOOK! And that is what makes this book so damn special, because it’s TOO FREAKING REAL and you can connect to it all. Feel it all, bask in all its otherworldly goodness.
I adore Emma, her books are addictive, her writing is flawless, everything about Emma’s writing is just perfection. Without a doubt she is one of my ultimate favourite authors. When her stories are THIS GOOD and just keep getting better how can she not be a?

Being Brooke was an hilarious, refreshing read that stole my heart and exploded with real, breathtaking beauty.

From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes a brand new standalone novel. BEING BROOKE is a laugh-out-loud, witty, sexy, and sometimes highly inappropriate romantic comedy about being in love with your best friend. And how much that freaking sucks.

My name is Brooke Barker…

And I’m a freaking disaster.

No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.

Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.

The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.

The second problem? He’s my best friend.

My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.

And that’s all he can be, right?

Behind the wheel, racing champion Zander Donavan is at the top of his game. But after too much excess in his personal life, he’s forced to step away. He needs to accomplish something all on his own—outside of his famous father’s shadow.
Getty Caster is running away from the abuse that clouds her past. She thinks she’s found the perfect escape—until she discovers a stranger in the beachside cottage she’d been promised. He’s undeniably sexy, but she’s there to heal. Alone.
Before long though, fighting with each other turns into fighting their attraction. And giving into desire sets off a chain reaction that has their pasts colliding. With an unexpected love on the line, can they overcome the fallout to build a future?

All eyes are on us . . . and there’s nowhere to run.

Everyone has their own ideas about Dallas Sykes: He’s a reckless billionaire, a devilish playboy, a man who gets whatever he wants the minute he wants it. But I know the real Dallas behind the money, bravado, and power—and he’s completely, blissfully mine.

We carefully guarded our secrets, and in each other’s arms we sought refuge from our dark past. Our pain became our pleasure, our control within the chaos. But we could only hide from the truth for so long.

Now we’ve let loose our inhibitions and are ready to face the future. And no matter what people think or say, coming clean is its own sweet reward.

I’ve loved him as long as I can remember. The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop. Killian Shepard. Shep.

We grew up together.  It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life. He’d be back.
He was always meant to be mine.  He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.

So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do. I got my revenge. I married his brother, Kael. Now we’re one big happy f*cking family.

It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.

My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

This is the story of an American Queen.

He’s won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?

I met the president’s son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent.  He promised me that he’d never run for president. I promised that if he did, I’d be by his side.

Three terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton’s campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I’ve ever experienced. I’m determined to make a difference; he is determined to win. Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him and his popularity is surging. But soon, the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one—and despite the risks, I’m helpless to resist.

Winning will take everything. Walking away will be the hardest thing of all.

It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long. Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.

It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle. It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.

But we can’t start here. No, to tell this story right, we need to go back. Back to the beginning. Back to the very first drop. This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

I swore a solemn oath that saw to the end of the Cormacs, a family of hunters that persistently sought to rid my coven’s existence.

For years we have lived in the shadows, free from hunters and the weapons of wood that could destroy us.

But the familiar scent of Cormac blood is awakening my senses. We were certain that we had ended the bloodline. Now, the vow I swore plagues my mind. The guilt I harbour buries deep. The desire and lust burns.

My pledge to my family is now a promise to protect the woman I love.
Aurelia Galligan is a descendant of the Cormac bloodline. I should drain her. I have to destroy her. But she may just end me.

Joel Anderson doesn’t take anything seriously. Not his relationships, which have been few and far between since his brutal divorce. Not the drama of working in a tattoo parlor, which seems to be around every corner.  But he’s not the kind of man you cross.

Annika Belousov takes everything seriously. Like her job as a reality television producer, given that she typically has something to prove. When she’s tapped to produce a reality show at Joel’s shop, she doesn’t think twice, just goes in for the kill, as if there were any other way.

The second Annika walks into Joel’s shop, he makes it his mission to crack her open. He’s all wrong. But it doesn’t take her long to find out there’s more to him than smirks and tattoos. And what she finds could put her career and his heart on the line.

Not that Joel cares. Because for the first time in a long time, he’s found his tonic.

There’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington. He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.

It proves easier said than done.

When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone. The problem is–when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real . . .

Everyone makes mistakes, especially in college. But when you’re the daughter of the President of the United States, any little slip up is a huge embarrassment. Maddie McGuire’s latest error in judgment lands her in police custody, giving the press a field day. Agreeing to do community service as penance and to restore her tattered reputation, Maddie never dreams incredibly good looking but extremely annoying vice president’s son, Jake Simmon, will be along for the ride.

Recently returning from Afghanistan with a life-altering injury, Jake is wrestling with his own demons. He doesn’t have the time or patience to deal with the likes of Maddie. They’re like oil and water and every time they’re together, it’s combustible. But there’s a thin line between love and hate, and it’s not long before their fiery arguments give way to infinitely sexier encounters.

I’m naturally gifted on the field and between the sheets. With flashy cars and enough media attention to put the Royal Family to shame, I’m the definition of Most Eligible Bachelor. Every man wants to be me and every woman wants to tame me.

Until Camila. The moment I lay eyes on her, I know I have to have her. She wants to keep me at arm’s length. I want her naked in my bed. She thinks our worlds are too different. All I want her to think about is screaming my name.

She says I’m bad news. I have three weeks to prove her wrong.

Falling in love is easy. Falling out of love is the hardest thing in the world. And Elin and Ty Whitt are terrible at it.

The first time the local basketball star smiled at Elin, she was a goner. It was just so damn easy to fall for the dark-haired hometown hero with his charming smile and strong, athletic build.

Thousands of sleepy smiles, aimless drives down country roads, and squeaks of the backdoor after a swing shift later, reality hits. And it hits hard. Falling in love was definitely the easy part. Watching it break apart was impossible.

When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.

Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away…that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.

Gianluca. After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.

But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.

For as long as Madeleine “Mad” Rousseau can remember, she’s been the “sweet” twin to her sister Jax’s “sassy.” But after an especially painful break-up, Mad decides she’s had enough of being sweet. Children’s librarian during the day, she begins visiting Philly’s seedier nightspots on a quest for adventure.

When Cortlandt “Cort” Ambler, the ex-boyfriend of Mad’s sister, Jax, saves her from disaster on one such evening, an unlikely friendship is born between the rebellious librarian and the moonlighting pianist…and two broken hearts begin a journey toward being whole again.

Claire Fortune arrives in Boston with an old notebook and her best friend’s dying wish – to finish the scribbled bucket list that Hope didn’t have time to complete. Moment by moment, Claire builds a life she never dreamed of – until Theo walks into the coffee-shop one crisp September afternoon, and her careful plans scatter on the winds.

Sometimes a chance meeting can change a life forever.
Sometimes fate knows exactly what we need.

Perfect for fans of ‘Me Before You’ and ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, ‘The Promise’ brings together two people searching for a love that can overcome tragedy. A heartbreakingly romantic novel that challenges us to live – and love – every day as if it were our last.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face. Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be. There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. The royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever…

Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day. Did I mention she’s gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home. Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She’s the nanny. And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.
The other nannies in this city don’t call him The Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret.

I can’t risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

Don’t be fooled. Don’t make excuses for me. I am not a good man.

I’ve seen things no one should, done things no one should talk about. Honor and conscience have no place in my life. But I’ve fought and I’ve survived. I’ve had to.

The first time I saw her dancing on that seedy stage in that second rate club, I felt my heart pulse for the first time. Keelyn Foster was too young, too vibrant for this place, and I knew in an instant that I would make her mine. But first I had to climb my way to the top. I had to have something more to offer her.

I’m here now, money is no object and I have no equal. Except for her. She’s disappeared. But don’t worry, I will find her and claim her. She will be mine.

Like I said, don’t be fooled. I am not the devil in disguise… I’m the one standing front and center.

I fell hard for the Mafioso at the tender age of eleven. This beast of a man who I knew made people disappear—and probably enjoyed every second of it—was also the sixteen-year-old boy who had picked me up after I’d fallen flat on my face during my dance recital and told me I was the best ballerina he’d ever seen. He’s watched over me, protected me like I was the most precious thing in the world to him.  And then he sent me away.

Scarlett Vitucci was many things:
The daughter of the biggest Cosa Nostra boss from New York to Chicago.
The sister of the man I would gladly take a bullet for.
And the only woman I would ever love. Letting her go had been a huge mistake.  One I would never repeat.

My world was rock solid.
Until I saw her.

Lara Kessler showed up as if heaven sent her to me, and suddenly my priorities changed. Love is funny like that. One minute you’re living the dream, then BAM! Half my soul shows up backstage wearing a purple shirt and sexy skin-tight jeans, making me realize what I’ve been missing all along. Loving her means exposing a life I’ve tried to bury.

My heart had lost its beat.
Until I saw him.

Kaz Fabian caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on him. Love is funny like that. The famous guitarist was every woman’s fantasy—great face, chiseled jaw, cut biceps. The rock star was pure sex on and off stage, but his charm and charisma won me over. Loving him means burdening him with a life I’ve tried to leave behind.

They only had each other, until one forbidden night ruined everything…

STEPSISTER. He hated that flipping word.

When their parents got married, the only thing Caleb Luxan had in common with Wren Brashill was that they both hated their parents. When he was sixteen, Caleb discovered Wren’s closely guarded secret and vowed to protect her: from that day forward she became the reason for every decision he made.

Jealousy and long-suppressed desire overpowered Caleb’s fierce protectiveness and they spent one forbidden and unforgettable night in each other arms, but the aftermath left Caleb panicked, Wren heartbroken, and their relationship in shambles.

Like it or not, his father’s last, hard lesson, will demand Caleb deal with his long denied emotions for Wren, or let go of her forever.

Randy Ballistic and Lily LeBlanc are head-over-heels, bed-breakingly, screaming orgasmically in love. But even they have their challenges, mostly outside of the bedroom.

With the off-season coming to a close and the boys gearing up for training camp, one more weekend of fun is the perfect way to welcome the new season. The entire crew piles into vehicles and drives to Alex and Violet’s Chicago cottage for a few days of relaxation―and hopefully a chance for Randy to shake the anxiety that’s been plaguing him.

Accidental wardrobe malfunctions, typical Violet inspired overshares, and a whole lot of private time round out the perfect weekend getaway. But the moment they return to the city all of Randy’s angst resurfaces with the arrival of a surprise houseguest.

Dom’s the one she couldn’t have. Gigi’s the one he couldn’t forget.
They haven’t seen each other for four years. He’s been serving in the Special Forces. She’s finished college. They’ve had time to move on. Neither one has.

Now there’s a death threat. Her family’s business has pissed off a drug cartel. Her life’s in danger.
They’re thrown together, on the run. He has to keep her safe. From everyone. Including himself.

The only permanent thing in my life is the ink I put on my clients.
I drift from city to city, in and out of beds, from one tattoo shop to the next.
Every time I start to put down roots, I rip them up.
Until New Orleans.
Until her.
She’s everything I’m not.
Full of fire and life. An innocent where I’m a sinner.
I want to consume her. Protect her. Keep her.
But first, I have to escape from beneath these shadows.

Meeting him was a fluke. Dating him was a mistake. Watching him become a drug addict put me through hell. Running was my only option.

I’m running from my demons and when I find out she’s trying to escape her past, I know what I have to do.

One broken cop. One woman fighting for her life. A fragile love. Sinister secrets that threaten to tear them apart.

They’ve been to hell. The hard part will be finding their way back together.

Travis King is the worst kind of a**hole. He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards. He’s cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes. And I hate him.

It wouldn’t matter so much if he were avoidable. But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to. His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are wasted on such an arrogant man, which makes me hate him even more.

Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s made that very clear. He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed.

I’ve succumbed to his manw**re ways, but that doesn’t change a thing. Because the King is about to get played at his own game–and lose. Checkmate.

He thinks he caused her pain, but she knows he’s the only one who can heal her…

Kenna Sloane lost her career and her arm in the Marines, and now she feels like she’s losing herself. Submission is the only thing that ever freed her from pain and made her feel secure, and Kenna needs to serve again. Bad. The only problem is the Dom she wants once refused her submission and broke her heart, but, scarred on the inside and out, she’s not looking for love this time. She’s not even sure she’s capable.

Griffin Hudson is haunted by the mistakes that cost him the only woman he ever loved. Now she’s back at his BDSM club, Blasphemy, and more beautiful than ever, and she’s asking for his help with the pain he knows he caused. Even though he’s scared to hurt her again, he can’t refuse her, because he’d give anything to earn a second chance. And this time, he’ll hold on forever.

Peyton Adams learned a long time ago that selfish and detached is the only way to be in life.  Most disapproving of all? USA Gymnastics’ golden boy with an eight-pack, Jared Hargrove. After being cut from the women’s team right before Rio, Peyton is back on the post-Summer Games tour. Not only is she the only one without a gold medal, but her history with Jared won’t stay buried for long.

Control and good manners; the two things drilled into Jared Hargrove’s head from birth. As a four-time gold medalist, he’s always obeyed the rules and reaped the reward. Well, except for the whirlwind week four years ago in London when wild-child Peyton Adams finally got under his skin, and into his bed. She broke his heart, and he hasn’t removed the ice wall around it since. Now she’s back to redeem herself to the world of gymnastics, and it seems, to push his buttons more than ever.

Addiction: the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming.

Ruby was sin and sex.
The ultimate indulgence and worth every penny she cost me. I paid for her body, but didn’t know she’d end up embedded in my soul.

Elias was dark and tempting.
Unmatched in intensity and passion compared to my other clients. He handed me cash in exchange for my touch, and he dug himself into my heart instead.

Money changes things, firms up the lines of a relationship. But when it becomes an addiction—an all-consuming, life-changing addiction—the lines are completely obliterated.

“You don’t know what I’m capable of.”

Jett Fox has been surrounded by women his entire life. He knows what makes them tick, how to make them feel beautiful, and how to work their feminine wiles to his advantage. Honing sexuality is in his blood. It’s his gift.

Jett is accustomed to women eating out of the palm of his hand, but when a tall, mysterious, redheaded goddess strolls into Mansion –his domain– the eccentric Dom finds himself enamored. She becomes an obsession in his dark, secretive, and dangerous underworld — a world that appears one way on the outside but is entirely different within.

Forced to maintain the ruse at all costs, he’ll walk a treacherous line between allegiance and lust, deliberately deceiving the one woman who means anything to him.

Their past will become their future. Their scars will be reopened.

Clark Layton has the world at his feet. He is the CEO of one of the largest oil companies in the world and he has a fiancée most men would kill for. Then why, the night before his wedding, is he still thinking about everything he lost when he walked out on Dayna Cross?

Dayna didn’t intend to take the helm of Subsea Petroleum. But events beyond her control left her no choice. And she can handle it, mostly. She can juggle the long hours, the chauvinistic men, and a broken heart. What she can’t deal with is Clark Layton swanning back into her life and threatening to break down her walls.

I’m Millie Hart, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve dedicated my life to my Catholic faith. It was a part of me every step of the way. So when I decided to join a nunnery, no one in my family was surprised. I’m not sure at what point my life changed or where it went extremely wrong. My nightmares are becoming realities as my world starts to slowly tremble under the ground I’m presently shackled to. I was taken. Everything I thought I knew was about to rain down on me in drops of lies, deceit, and undiluted evil.

I’m more machine than man. I’m the alpha and the omega of The Army, and the leader of The 6 masked huntsmen. I live and bleed this life. The arms that raised me weren’t carrying love— they were carrying knives and AKs. I’m agent 000, the executioner, and the damn devil who walks in the flesh. No one can break through my hard shell— not even her.

She was his best friend’s chubby sister. He was the star football player.
It never made sense that he would want her, but he did.

It’s been ten years since Dyson Cole walked out of the barn after taking Ireland McKidd’s innocence with him.  Another notch in his belt.  Then he was gone.

Ireland has lost everything she’s ever cared about. She’s trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart, when the last person to obliterate it barges back into her life – literally.

Dyson has everything – money, power, sex appeal – a real life Adonis and women line up outside his door. But he’d gladly give up his whorish ways for the one woman he walked away from.

She’s wrecked, broken, a shell of the girl he once knew. He’s incapable of ignoring what she means to him.

She’s irresistible. He’s undeniable.

Grant Turner’s name is synonymous with football. The fans and media can’t get enough of the player known as The Invincible Man, a nickname he earned while growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the country and the nickname he’s kept by being one of the best players in professional football today. No one can take him down. He’s unstoppable.

But even a suit of armor has its weak point, and Grant’s has always been Ryan Hale.  They were a couple of kids when they fell in love, and just when it looked like the happy ending neither expected was within reach, Ryan disappeared. No explanations. No good-byes.

Grant coped by throwing himself into the game for seven years, and he’s finally moved on. Or so he thinks. When she walks back into his life, all of those feelings come crashing back, despite the warnings in his head that tell him she’ll leave him again. Grant can withstand the league’s toughest defensive line, but he’s always been weak where she’s concerned.

No man can take Grant Turner down. But one woman certainly can. One woman will.

To many, I am little more than a myth. The Kiss of Death, a hired killer, revered by some of the greatest criminal organisations in the world. Trained by the bratva themselves, without conscience, without mercy, the perfect soldier. I’ll kill anyone… for a price. Death doesn’t discriminate, she sells to the highest bidder, but even I have a weakness.

I want one thing—power. But power is merely a game of strategy. The pieces are on the chess board. Death is my queen, and also my pawn. She’ll paint this city red in exchange for the one thing she wants. Now all I have to do is watch it all play out. She’s nothing more than a weapon, and yet, I find myself wanting to dance with death, to possess her. And I always get what I want.

A game of power. A risk that could cost her everything. An obsession that would see the world burn at their feet. A bloodied king. A broken queen. Kill me or kiss me?

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck. He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.  Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths. For most people, death is the end of their story. For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

Review – Worth Fighting For by Kirsty Moseley

Worth Fighting For by Kirsty Moseley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sometimes two people need to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.

Second-chance love is a special kind of love, a raw and real romance, which speaks to the soul. Two soulmates broken apart whose love has never died are granted a do-over…that coveted second chance. Their hearts, once sliced in half, find their way back to each other and become whole again. Second-chance love stories are my heart…my soul…my addiction; Worth Fighting For was MY KRYPTONITE.

I could not help but devour Worth Fighting For with a voracious hunger, drowning in the pulse-pounding pages like my last breath. I had to force myself to put my kindle down as I did not want to stop inhaling this thrilling tale. I fell in fast love with Worth Fighting For, a story I knew would be worthy of its title, one that would be a fight of feels and a tug-of-war with my heart, and that it was.

Worth Fighting For held my heart in its clutches, owning it…OWNING ME. My feelings were free-falling fast and hard, as my heart beat out of its chest, pounding with every page. My emotions were entangled around every word as the passion penetrated me. I FELT EVERYTHING!!!

The Prologue alone brought me to tears. My emotions engulfed me, igniting like fire, ready to burn. Oh did I BURN as I battled my feels…a fight I would not win…a fight I did not want to win. I knew this story starring story about a broken boy who lost the one girl he loved who could save him would break me…that it did. I just did not know that the girl’s story this time would break me just as hard or even more.

Gorgeous, dark-haired, dark-eyed, tall, inked, and muscular Jamie Cole lost the only girl he loved…his soul mate…and it was all his fault. He thought he was letting her go so she could be free, but his heart was never free as it was broken and bound to Ellie, half a heart remaining as she’d always have the other half.

“I was in love once. Only once. And I lost her. And I would give any f**king thing in the world to never loved her at all. No, it was definitely is not better to have loved and lost.”

It’s been three years since beautiful, red-haired and blue-eyed Ellie left New York to London to start a new life, and forget about the boy who broke her heart and now the man who still holds her broken heart in his hands.

“Jamie. The beautiful, wounded boy who tricked me into falling in love with him only to shatter me completely.”

Jamie is dead inside, living to work and working to live. His heart is gone, as it was given to the only girl who stole it from him when they were teens. Ellie was an angel in his darkness, the one who made him believe in a future…believe in himself.

“The girl was still everything right in my world.”

A tragedy brings Ellie home after three long years, reuniting her with the broken boy…now man…who was supposed to be her forever. Sometimes love never dies; it just needs to be rekindled.

“The second my eyes met his I forget to breathe.”

The chemistry sparked by flames, a fire ignites with passion between them.

“I didn’t have time to react before his mouth was on mine…Everything was forgotten: the pain, the heartache, the tears…I was lost in him.”

Those kisses melted from the pages, penetrating that passion right to me as I felt it too. Those lifetime kisses of soulmates that you know will lock you to love for life. Oh how was I rooting for love! I wanted…no needed…this second chance love story to succeed. I wanted this broken boy to reunite with his angel girl, soul mates whose hearts needed to be whole.

“You deserved better than me, you always did.”

“Was I not worth fighting for?”

“You’re worth dying for.”

Worth Fighting for Teaser.png

Oh did I love this broken and beautiful man, Jamie, so much! Oh how this amazing alpha made me swoon and smolder. Jamie is pure perfection! The dark hero with a heart of gold held my heart in his hands and never stopped owning it…OWNING ME!

My heart shattered as my soul swooned. I was gutted…unglued. I was drowning in tears mixed with hope and heartbreak. These words melted my heart in the utmost devotion of love…slaying my soul…SLAYING ME!

“He had been my first love and, I had come to realize, my only love.”

Can Jamie and Ellie pick up the pieces of their painful pasts and their shattered hearts and become whole again?

These two halves of hearts needed to be whole… one. This knight could not…would not… leave his damsel in distress…PLEASE NO! So I hoped. I prayed. I desperately rooted for love. Love that had to survive this turmoil.

Worth Fighting For Teaser 3.png

Worth Fighting For is a heartbreaking and heartwarming tale that hijacked my heart and slayed my soul. I cried tears of heartbreak, happiness, and hope in one of the most gut-wrenching and gripping stories of second-chance love. My fingers gripped tightly, white-knuckling my kindle from beginning to end as Worth Fighting For had me on the edge. Oh what a fast and furious, heart-beating-out-of-my-chest edge it was!!!

I could only succumb to this tale that took my emotions from me where I was fighting them and they were fighting me. Worth Fighting For is a roller coaster of a second-chance romance, one where I felt every twist and turn of my heart as it traveled on a riveting ride of heartbreak, hope, and happiness. This thrilling tale of tenderness mixed with terror was my adrenaline…my angst…my ache…MY ALL!

Worth Fighting For BROKE ME IN THE BEST WAY! Kirsty Moseley wove her magic in one masterpiece of an utterly brilliant and devastatingly beautiful book that I LOVED SOOO MUCH. Kirsty Moseley has moved up to my top author list, and Worth Fighting For is a new top 2016 read!

When you begin and end a tale in tears, you know that story stamped itself all over your heart and soul, entangling and embedding itself into your emotions. You were lost to it and it was lost to you. I lost myself in Worth Fighting For by Kirsty Moseley and I am still not ready to be found. Worth Fighting For is WORTH EVERYTHING.

★★★★★ ‘but worth 10’ devastatingly beautiful and brilliant stars
