Review – Can’t Let Go by Barbara Freethy

5 out of 5 stars

This was my first venture into a Barbara Freethy book, and I was pleasantly surprised. The development of the characters and the way they contrasted each other kept for an intriguing story.
Annie is from a large family of FBI agents, cops, and firefighters  but she didn’t inherit that gene. She’s the curious artsy free spirit. She lands in a beach town sub letting a house on the beach for a friend that’s out of town for 6 months. She’s hoping it will get her creative juices flowing again. One day she decides to try to overcome her fear of water, which leads her in a huge predicament… Shark!!  She gets rescued by the gruff sexy surfer  Griffin who skips out before she can thank him. She is determined to find him and express her gratitude.
Griffin is a quiet guy that keeps to himself and for good reason. When the feisty Annie tracks him down, he knows no good could come of it. He has to push her away while at the same time fight the attraction he’s feeling. These two lead us on quite a journey.
It was an excellent read that I definitely recommend. You don’t have to read the others in the series to read this.

Callaway Cousins #5

By Barbara Freethy

Release Day: DEC 26, 2017

From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Barbara Freethy comes another stunning blend of heart-warming romance and spine-tingling suspense in her popular Callaway Series…

Talented graphic artist and animator Annie Callaway has been commissioned by a Hollywood studio to create the next superhero blockbuster movie, but a bout of creative block has Annie searching the Southern California beach scene for inspiration. A local Irish bar in an old train depot, run by the ruggedly attractive and somewhat mysterious Griffin Hale, piques her interest, and she finds herself weaving fantasies about not only Griffin but also the quirky characters who work there.

The last thing Griffin Hale needs at his bar is a nosy artist looking for personal stories to turn into movie plots. He has carefully cultivated a scene of complete normalcy for people who need it more than Annie could possibly imagine, and it’s his job to protect them. But the beautiful redhead with the compelling green eyes is difficult to turn away. Annie’s fantasy world where good always conquers evil is not the life that Griffin has lived, and he can’t help but think she’ll never be satisfied with anyone less than a superhero.

After a string of bad relationships, Annie willingly admits that most real men don’t live up to her muscle-bound, cape-wearing protectors of the world, but when her stubborn curiosity propels her into a danger she never expected, she begins to realize that some heroes work in the dark…and a man who fights for you is a man worth fighting for.

While Griffin is determined to keep Annie alive, he’s not at all convinced he can give her the happily-ever-after she’s looking for. But then some stories take an unexpected turn…

A man walked into the bar. He wore dark-gray slacks, a white button-down shirt, and a striped navy-blue tie. His brown hair was cut very short, his face cleanly shaven. And he was the last person Griffin wanted to see. But whatever Paul Daniels had to say needed to be said with a bit more privacy.

He tipped his head toward a table in the corner, then poured two shots of bourbon and walked around the bar, sitting down across from a man who inspired both loyalty and frustration whenever they met up. “Could you look more like a fed?” he asked.

“I didn’t have time to change,” Paul Daniels replied. He took the shot with a swallow of satisfaction. “Smooth.”

“You must be off the clock.”

That answer didn’t make him happy. “I told you we need to take a break.”

“And we did. It’s been two months,” Paul replied. “Megan is a twenty-four-year-old woman. She’s jittery, fragile, and isn’t doing well in isolation. She needs people around her that she doesn’t have to lie to. It won’t be for long—a week, maybe ten days.”

“You always say that.”

“And I’m mostly telling the truth.”

He drank his shot, breaking his own rule about not drinking while working, then said, “Where is she?”

“In the car.”

“Rob is with her.” Paul paused, resting his forearms on the table, as his brown-eyed gaze settled on Griffin’s face. “She’s not any happier about this than you are, but I think this would be a good place for her.”

“Where is she from?”

“A long way from here. I’m not worried about danger finding her; I’m worried about her cracking or running. Some people can live a lie with no problems. Others can’t.”

He knew that better than anyone.

The door opened again, and for a split second he thought it might be the person Paul had brought to the bar, but the woman with reddish-blonde hair and sparkling green eyes was much more familiar and even more disturbing. She’d been very attractive in the orange bikini she’d had on yesterday, but it had been hard to get past the enormous fear in her eyes. Today, wearing white jeans and a clingy blue top, she looked beautiful and back on her game.

But why was she here? He couldn’t believe it was a coincidence.

“Damn,” he muttered.

“Ex-girlfriend?” Paul asked, raising an eyebrow as he followed his gaze.

“No, but not someone I wanted to see.”

“You never want to see anyone. I’m still surprised someone as unfriendly as you decided to open a bar.”

Sometimes—like today—he asked himself the same question. But while there were a lot of people in the bar, he didn’t have to interact with very many of them.

As the redhead’s gaze lit on him, a smile spread across her face. He felt like he’d just been struck by a hot, bright ray of sun. It warmed up places in his body that had gone cold a long time ago.

“I’m going to get Megan and bring her in,” Paul said, getting to his feet. “I’ll let you deal with whatever this is.”

“What?” he asked, a little distracted by the woman making her way across the bar.

“I’ll be right back.”

He had a lot more he wanted to say to Paul, but his friend was already gone, and the woman he’d pulled out of the ocean yesterday was almost at his table. He stood up, his nerves tightening. He could sense danger from a mile away. He didn’t know why this woman was trouble; he just knew that she was.

Review – The Lady Is A Thief  by Aimee Nicole Walker

 5 out of 5 stars

Wow. Aimee nailed her first M/F book. This was an absolute riot. It made you laugh at all the shenanigans and it kept you on your toes with all the mysterious murders still going on in Blissville. It was like going back in time and getting glimpses of some of our favorite characters from the Curl Up and Dye series plus a bunch of new characters.
I loved Maegan. She was a riot and she wasn’t one to be messed with. She was hell on wheels. I love that in a female main character. She is a successful business woman along with her brother Milo. She is unlucky in love until the huge hunk of mam meat who happens to be her neighbor but also a cop comes barrelling into her life. Her libido goes haywire
Elijah has had a rough go at love and has sworn off relationships for good. Who can blame him after coming home to find his wife pregnant by his brother. I mean seriously?  I would kick his a** if I could jump in those pages.
A seriously dangerous situation comes up that throws Maegan and Elijah together and it gets harder and harder to fight that attraction. Their chemistry is off the scales. It’s only a matter of time until they combust. We get a HEA for now, and I will be eagerly waiting for book 2.

RELEASE DATE: 12.16.17

Detective Elijah Markham has decided to trade big city danger for sleepy town charm. He quickly learns that small towns harbor deadly secrets, and the biggest threat to Elijah may prove to be the sexy lady who lives next door. Guarding his turbulent heart could be his biggest challenge if he falls captive to her irresistible charms.

Maegan Miracle seemingly has the perfect life. She has a successful career, amazing friends, and a family that adores her, but it’s not enough to erase the loneliness she hides behind a brilliant smile. Maegan’s world is turned upside down when she becomes a potential target in a twisted killer’s cat and mouse games. The only man who can save her is the same one that threatens her peaceful existence.

Passion and lust override doubt and suspicion, igniting a flame that’s hot enough to consume them and torch the town. Something that burns so hot and fast won’t last…or will it? If they want a chance to find out, they’ll need to stop a killer before it’s too late.

The Lady is a Thief is the first book in The Lady is Mine Trilogy. It’s a scorching-hot story filled with humor, mystery, and lovable characters that will make you want to pack your bags and move to Blissville.

“Open up, Freckles,” Elijah said as he pounded on the door hard enough to make it rattle in the frame. He didn’t sound angry though; he sounded… horny.

Yes, my body cried out. I shook so hard from anticipation that I practically vibrated through the house instead of walked.

“I know you’re awake. I saw your bedroom light on! Open up this door before I—”

I yanked the door open before he could finish what he was going to say. “Huff and puff and blow it down?” I asked sassily, finishing for him. His pulse pounded wildly in his neck, matching the tempo of my heart trying to beat its way out of my chest. “What the hell is your problem?”

“I got something for you to blow.”

    “You wish,” I retorted.

Elijah’s eyes lowered to my unbound breasts and stayed there. He wasn’t the least bit ashamed that he was staring at my girls. Okay, so the nips were saluting his soldier, but that didn’t make it right. What woman doesn’t whip off her bra as soon as she comes home for the night? It wasn’t some part of a grand scheme to lure that jackass back into my bed. I’d settle for a wall-banging.

I crossed my arms beneath my chest, but that only plumped them up more for him. Elijah’s delighted smile should’ve pissed me off because I was not the kind of girl who opened her doors and legs for a guy at whim. What an asshole! Who did he think he was… Oh, fucking forget it. I grabbed his scarf and pulled him into my house and shut the door.

I am a wife and mother to three kids, three dogs, and a cat. When I’m not dreaming up stories, I like to lose myself in a good book, cook or bake. I’m a girly tomboy who paints her fingernails while watching sports and yelling at the referees. I will always choose the book over the movie. I believe in happily-ever- after. Love inspires everything that I do. Music keeps me sane.

Review – Shelter by Jay Crownover

Shelter by Jay Crownover

My rating: 6 of 5 stars

“We’ve been on a collision course from day one. We were always going to crash into one another.”

I love the authors who ditch the ordinary for the extraordinary, who take risks in their writing, who deliver the different to readers. Every time I open a book by Jay Crownover, I know it’s going to be a voyage into unchartered territory. Just like all of Jay Crownover’s other out-of-the box books, Shelter is UNIQUE, UNPREDICTABLE, and UTTERLY BRILLIANT. The Getaway series continues to be one INCREDIBLY INTENSE ADVENTURE!!!

Shelter is tale of tough love but also a story of survival, second chances, and strength. Shelter is a roller coaster ride of an adventure with twists and turns, and ups and downs—one that takes the senses for a spin. Shelter is a fierce and fiery flame of a love story that burns all over. Shelter is a fusion of feels where no emotion is left untouched. Shelter is UNPUTDOWNABLE. Shelter is EVERYTHING!!!!

Jay Crownover has truly outdone herself with this masterful, intensely mesmerizing portrait of a broken hero and heroine who fight the hardest of battles to become whole. Emerys and Suttons’ life-altering journey continues in Shelter. A hero and heroine, both strong and stubborn, may learn that the best way to heal and put their broken pieces together may be to come together as one.

”All his broken pieces made mine seem less jagged.”

Like older brother, Warner, Sutton is a man’s man. Tall. Rugged. Handsome. Brooding. Stubborn. Tough. Tender. Sutton is my favorite Warner brother and near the top of all of Jay Crownover’s complex and tough but tender heroes.

”Even when I didn’t want to want you, I did.”

Emerys is a tall beauty who sees the light in others’ dark. She is the perfect complement to Sutton: the soft to his hard. Emerys is as bold as she is beautiful, and one of the strongest heroines I’ve encountered.

”I like all your pieces, Sutton…You keep dropping them and I keep picking them up.”

Sutton and Emerys are on fire together!!! Their chemistry is COMBUSTIBLE! This hero and heroine are imperfectly perfect but so perfect for each other in every way. It’s as if Sutton and Enerys were forged together by fate, calming each others’ storms.

”You feel like fire wrapped up in silk.”

I LOVED THIS HEART-POUNDING ROMANCE!!! My heart pounded out of my chest where I forgot to breathe. Tears streamed down my face as Shelter—this mix of SORROW, SWEETNESS and SOUL—struck me hard, igniting every emotion. Shelter struck me everywhere!!! I was so lost in this story that I didn’t want to be found.

Humming with rich descriptions, deep emotions, and razor-sharp intensity, Shelter tears at the heartstrings in a journey felt all over. What a RUSH!!! Twists and turns. Fire and ice. Dark and light. Love and loss. Chase and calm. This book BUZZES WITH EXCITEMENT!!!

Shelter is a heart-clenching thriller of a tale of love wrapped in heroism, heartbreak, hope, and healing that strikes straight to the core. Shelter is the BEST EMOTIONAL CHAOS!!! Like a shard of glass, Shelter shines and then cuts deep. An ADRENALINE RUSH spiked with HEAT and HEART, Shelter is an ADVENTURE lived and a story loved long after the last page.

”What do you get out of any of this, Em?”

“I get you.”

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 heart-striking and soul-shining stars

His life is chaos and confusion. It’s a storm of uncertainty and raging emotion.
Sutton Warner is a mess. Everything in his life feels like it’s unraveling.
He’s let a lot of people down lately, including his daughter. Sutton always promised his little girl he would never disappoint her and that he would always be there when she needed him. Until he wasn’t.

The truth is, he’s used to disappointing the women in his life. First was his mother who couldn’t find a reason to stick around when he was growing up. Then there’s his ex. The woman who takes unbridled delight in making his life incredibly complicated. Luckily, his daughter is still young enough to believe her old man is some kind of hero. But, he knows the day is coming when she realizes the truth, which is, he’s just a man with some serious flaws and a list of ever-growing weaknesses.

Finally, there’s the woman he’s desperately trying to forget with every shot tossed back and each pill popped.

He more than disappointed Emrys…he almost got her killed.

Her love is steady and sure. It’s a shelter shaped by conviction and silent assurance.
Emrys Santos is lost. Everything in her life feels pointless and futile.

She’s been busy running away from her feelings and all the people who love her the most—including her best friend, the one person who knows exactly what she’s been through. They promised to always stick together and to lean on one another. It was a promise Em had to break so she could lick her wounds and figure out her next move. For once, there is no easy way out of the tangled web of emotions she’s caught up in, and right now, she recognizes that all roads lead back to Wyoming…and back to Sutton.
The man she nearly got killed.

Shelter is a standalone novel, the second book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

Review – True by Ella Frank

I am tearing up saying goodbye to two beautiful souls that Ella has blessed us with. This series is so beautiful and is one that will remain in my heart for all of eternity. We have watched these two go through so many ups and downs which made them so real to us. This final book has made my heart bursting at the seams with happiness and a feeling of fulfillment. Ella could not have done a better job at bringing this series to a close.
It is a series that we will continue to read or listen to over and over again because it is a feel good journey of love, discovery, and happiness.   Ella I want to thank you for blessing us with your talent and giving us this gift to escape from the horrors of the real world to a place full of unconditional love. Tate and Logan will live in my heart for eternity. ❤❤❤

TRUE, the final book in The Temptation Series by Ella Frank and the highly anticipated wedding between Logan Mitchell and Tate Morrison is available now!

True – adjective: That which is accurate or exact.

I dare you to try.

I think you’re my truth.

Terrify me.

Marry me.

Marry me.

Marry me…

Four years ago, Logan Mitchell walked into Tate’s life and challenged him to see it differently.

He dared Tate to try a kiss, when normally he wouldn’t have.

He begged him to take a chance, when he probably shouldn’t have.

But most importantly, he asked Tate to trust that he would love him, and he did. From that moment on, Tate realized exactly what his life had been missing—Logan.

Happily-ever-afters come in many different forms. But for Tate Morrison, there’s only one ending he wants. The one where the guy marries the guy and true love conquers all.

Now all he has to do is tell Logan.

Join Logan and Tate as they finally realize what the rest of us knew all along. That they belong together for better or worse—always.

LOVE. IT’S FUNNY how one four-letter word can bring on such an onslaught of emotions. Happiness, desire, anger, even fear, Tate Morrison thought, as he sat at the tiny table in the empty bar of the Lynley Winery and tried to calm his erratic heartbeat. It could make those who were the most honest with their emotions run scared, while at the same time bring forth a determination in the most unlikely of people.

That was something he had discovered ten minutes ago back in their suite when Logan had stood before him naked and uttered, “Just tell me how you want me, Tate. I’m yours.”

That was when he’d run.

Tate had practically tripped over his feet in his hurry to be free of the suddenly suffocating confines of that bathroom. And now, as he sat alone replaying Logan’s words, he stared down at the crumpled paper he’d grabbed from his wallet and studied the words in his shaking hands.

His stomach knotted, then flipped over on itself time and time again, and Tate willed himself to breathe. The last thing he needed was to pass out from a panic attack, but that was exactly what was happening. He was panicking. And the reason? The reason was as clear as day. He was the dumbest motherfucker on the planet. Yeah, he was.

Fucking hell. He’d heard that love made people do some stupid shit before, but this… God, what if I can’t fix this? What if Logan doesn’t want me like that anymore? The thought made him want to be sick. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to stop the room from spinning, but all that did was bring to mind Logan back in the bathroom, beautiful as always, looking at Tate for some kind of indication of what was running through his head. And what had Tate given him? Nothing. He’d just fled.

Damn it.

Tate shoved the piece of paper into his pocket, along with the pen he’d grabbed from the side table back in their suite, no longer able to look at it. What had he done to them? How had he let fear of the unknown possibly ruin this? And as the memories flooded him again…

I dare you to try.

I think you’re my truth.

Terrify me.

Marry me.

…he was more than aware that it was that one, the last one, that didn’t have the right ending. He’d really messed this up, but he could make it right and wanted to, more than he wanted his next breath.

He placed his head in his hands and shut his eyes, trying to gather some semblance of control so he could go back, find Logan, and do the one thing he realized he should’ve done all along. It wasn’t until he heard the sound of padded feet on the hardwood floor that he looked up to see that he didn’t need to go and find Logan, because he had tracked Tate down instead.

With the fire flickering behind him, the sharp angles of Logan’s cheeks and jaw only enhanced a face Tate loved more than he thought possible, and when Logan pulled out the chair opposite him and reached across the table to take his hands, Tate couldn’t believe it had taken his brain this long to catch up and get to where it now firmly was.

“Hey,” Logan said, his eyes roaming over Tate’s face, no doubt for signs, clues as to why he’d run away.

“Hey,” Tate replied, and then lowered his gaze to their hands, marveling over the strength he found there when they were joined.

Exactly…together, not apart. Always and forever, together.

“What are you doing out here?” Logan asked, and Tate swallowed as he felt Logan tighten his grip.

“I, uhh…”

“Tate?” Logan said before Tate could give any kind of response. “What are you doing out here?”

Tate withdrew his hand and ran it through his hair, and as Logan continued to watch him, he felt his nerves kick in. “Back there in the bathroom…” he started, and then stopped. As he thought over his words, Tate wondered if there was even a way to explain how badly he’d screwed this all up, but knew the only way he’d ever know was to try. “I had a thought. It was more of a moment, I guess. A flash of us. Of all we are and will be and— Shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?”

Logan’s eyes narrowed, but he shook his head. “You don’t sound crazy. But you are freaking me out a little. Were the things you were thinking good things, at least?”

Tate frowned and then shot Logan an apologetic look. The last thing Tate wanted was to worry him more—it was the exact opposite. “Yeah, of course. I should’ve probably started with that. Everything about you was good. Perfect, really, but me…”

“What about you? You’re pretty fucking perfect from where I’m sitting. And back there in that bathroom, trust me, you looked better than any of those naked statues on the wall.”

Tate tried for a smile but knew he didn’t quite pull it off when Logan asked, “What is it, Tate? Come on; you know you can tell me anything.”

Okay, this is it, Tate thought, as he swallowed and then shifted in his seat, glancing over at the fire for a moment to gather his nerve. Then he turned back to Logan and asked, “Am I too late?”

At Logan’s confused expression, Tate knew he didn’t understand what he was asking. So he reached into his pocket where he’d shoved the piece of paper, and then put it on the table. He smoothed his hand over it, lovingly tracing his fingers over the name he now wanted as his own, and then pushed it over in front of Logan.

As Logan stared down at it, Tate watched him read over the words on the paper, waiting for a reaction, and when Logan looked up, Tate asked again, “Am I too late?”

Logan blinked several times, and Tate held his breath, wondering if he was too late. But then something miraculous happened: Logan shook his head.

The blood rushing around Tate’s head made his ears ring as he tried to comprehend what Logan was telling him, but he still hadn’t said a word, so Tate pulled the pen from his pocket and leaned over to circle the name he hadn’t been able to stop looking at ever since he’d found the piece of paper.

As Logan looked down again, Tate saw a huge grin split his lips. “So what do you think? Can the world handle two Mr. Mitchells?”

Review – Twisted by Helen Hardt

 6 stars
Holy mother of Steele books!  This book takes the cake, hands down. Before I could grasp what had just happened even more twisted information pops up. Helen really worked overtime to keep our minds in overdrive following this one.
I must apologize to Talon. I loved Talon from the start and never in my wildest dreams thought he could be replaced, but Ryan certainly pulled it off. I am going to have naughty dreams of all the filthy things Ryan can do to me, not to mention that alpha hot head streak that can’t be contained. Do not mess with someone he loves if you value your life. That’s all I’m saying.
This book really starts to get further in depth of uncovering all of the secrets that were being slowly unraveled. I have to say,  this book seriously turned uo the intensity factor about 10 notches. It’s  on now. The end is in sight. Now we have to cross our fingers and toes that everyone makes it out unscathed.
This is hands down the best book Helen has released yet. I never thought I would say those words because of the strong affinity I developed for Talon from the start but you don’t even know the half of it. Kudos to Helen for continually delivering a series that only exponentially gets better and better. Unraveled can’t get here soon enough. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.

Review – Jared’s Fulfillment by Riley Hart

When I read book 1,I loved it but felt like something was missing. After finishing book 2,I realize that it had to be that way because of the progression of Jared and Kieran’s relationship in book 2. You will finish with a sense of fulfillment.
The way their relationship blossomed can only be described as beautiful. I know that not everyone can get into BDSM,  but this series was so much more than that. We got to watch two broken people heal with the help of each other. It didn’t matter which role they played in their relationship, they both brought out the best in each other. Watching them grow together was heartwarming.
Riley really proved how diverse she is in writing a beautiful duet that is different from her norm. I hope that you all take a chance on this beautiful story and enjoy it as much as I did.

My relationship with Jared has lasted too long. He’s mesmerizing, beautiful in his devotion, pure in his need. He reaches parts of me I thought no longer existed, places I’d never known were there. His submission is a gift. His cries of pleasure and pain call to the most primal parts of me. I want to inhale him, own him, mark him as mine. He’s my boy and I need to be his Daddy, but my fear holds me back. I’ll fail him like I’ve failed everyone else I’ve loved. Before that happens, I’ll walk away.

I’ve never known security, love, or true pleasure before Kieran. With every touch, every command, every second of blissful, torturous pain, my heart grows and my soul is at peace. He protects me, spoils me, gives me what I need. Still, in some ways, he’s closed off and won’t let me in. But Kieran’s given me strength. I’ve evolved, and won’t accept less than I deserve…and I won’t let Daddy accept less than he deserves, either.

It’s a delicate balance: give and take, pleasure and pain. Together we can break each other down to our purest forms and build each other up again. Kieran always says I’m stronger than I think, but I know that together we’re invincible…if only he’d believe me.

We have two choices: say goodbye or fight for what’s always been out of both our reaches…fulfillment.

Warning: Jared’s Fulfillment contains BDSM elements, domestic discipline, spanking, and daddy kink–without age play–between consenting adults. If any of those things offend you, reading this book might not be a good idea.

Jared’s Evolution and Jared’s Fulfillment must be read in order.

Jared’s Fulfillment is part of the Desires Unleashed collection. Some books in this collection will have darker themes. Please be aware Desires Unleashed are er*tic and not your typical Riley Hart romance. You can expect the mental and emotional journey to be led by the physical/s*xual moments–which will be intense, frequent and kinky.

“Come here, boy. Your tie isn’t straight.”

I walked over to Kieran and tilted my head up so he could fix my tie. It was silly how good it made me feel, since it was such a simple thing to do for someone, but I loved it when Kieran did the small things. Sometimes, I didn’t think people realized how much the small things mattered, but he did. Kieran thought of everything.

I smiled because I knew it brought him joy too.

“What are you grinning at?” he asked as he finished.

“You,” I told him, and then added, “Thank you, Daddy.”

“So beautiful when you say that to me.” He rubbed his thumb across my bottom lip. “I love to watch your mouth when you call me Daddy.” He cupped my cheek, leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to my lips. I savored it, nearly melting into him. Kieran reached me on a bone-deep level. My body had a visceral reaction to him any time he was in the same room. And the reaction had grown over the last month, since the night of the play. It was then when I’d quietly decided to show Kieran how much I loved him, with my service to him. When I’d decided to secretly fight for us, the best way I knew how.

“Finish getting ready. I’ll put bagels on,” he told me, pressing another quick kiss to my mouth.

“Thank you,” I replied, before watching Kieran walk out of the room. I loved the way he moved—the power in the way he held his body. The dominance in him. He filled me in ways I never knew I needed, in ways that left me forever changed. He was everything to me and I couldn’t deny that. I didn’t want to. I wanted to bask in it because, for the first time in my life, I truly understood what it was like to be happy. Secure. At peace. Protected.

After walking over to Kieran’s dresser, I plucked a pair of socks from the top drawer, pulled them onto my feet, and then slipped on my shoes before I met him in the kitchen.

“You’re going to lunch with Marco today?” he confirmed. Marco and I had begun spending quite a bit of time together. He was funny and understanding. He always answered my questions and freely shared his own stories with me. I truly liked him and was thankful for this new friendship.

I walked over to help but he said, “Sit. I’ll take care of it.”

Another smile pulled at my lips; I loved the feeling of Kieran caring for me…of him telling me what to do. It made my head spin in the best sort of way. It was amazing, really, the way this lifestyle had changed me. The way it had grounded me—strengthened me. It’s not something I would have believed before my relationship with Kieran. It’s not something most people could likely understand but then…why did anyone else have to understand it? It was the way we chose to live. People often forgot that because something was wrong for them, it didn’t mean it was wrong for everyone, or hell, that it was wrong in any way.

Review – Nightshade by Molly McAdams

Nightshade by Molly McAdams

My rating: 6 of 5 stars

”What if it all went wrong so you could find what’s been waiting for you?”

Here I sit days after reading, unable to read another book as this story STRUCK ME SO HARD!!! Hours and days after reading, just thinking of this story leaves tears that stay etched in my eyes. I am still STUNNED SPEECHLESS from Nightshade by Molly McAdams, a STUNNING STORY that stole, stripped, and shattered both my heart and soul. Captivating … chaotic … dark … dangerous … and devastatingly beautiful, Nightshade is the PERFECT STORM … MY perfect storm.

Happiness. That word would never touch my life again. Happiness wasn’t meant for girls like me.

Nightshade GRIPPED ME immediately, chasing my heart and soul like a fierce fire where I fell to the flames. This firestorm of feels was a fight I would not—did not—want to win. Nightshade both lit me up with life while casting my soul into the dark. Every breath matched every breathtakingly beautiful word. Light to light. Dark to dark. Beauty to beauty. Feel to feel. I FELT NIGHTSHADE EVERYWHERE.

One page and I was ENSNARED in the trap called Nightshade.
One page and I BROKE for the heroine.
One page and I knew Nightshade would break me … and that it did!

I wasn’t scared for my life. I was scared for my soul.

From the moment I met the intensely dark knight, Kieran, in Firefly, the story that precedes Nightshade, I LOVED HIM. Long blond hair. Piercing green eyes. Tall and muscular. Fierce. Deadly. A man who would lay down his life for those he loves. A man battling darkness but is still a dark hero. Kieran, AKA, Nightshade, is the ULTIMATE HERO—-my Robin Hood! Kieran is PERFECTION!!!

He was terrifying. And he was beautiful.

Nightshade has met his match in Jessica. Beautiful. Broken. Bold. Brave. Jessica is as evasive and lethal as Kieran.

”Chaos. Everything you make me feel. Everything you are. Chaos.”

Chaos and calm collide and what an EXPLOSION Nightshade is … a heart-pounding HIGH!!!
The banter spiked with hate and heat…
The angst that burned like a constant flame…
The chemistry that could not be stopped…

”I hate that I want you.”

Jessica has led a life of hell and no man will ever control her. No man until Kieran…

”Because I’ve never wanted to give up control as much as I do with you.”

These sweet and soulful words MELTED ME!!! Kieran and Jessica were EXPLOSIVE together … a union of fire and ice. Their chemistry was on FIRE!!! I felt their POWERFUL PULL pull me.

There was something inside her that called to me.

The INTENSITY?!? I felt it EVERYWHERE!!! Nightshade had me on EDGE, my heart not beating but THRASHING out of my chest!!! Twisted. Tortuous. Tender. Tough. These words sliced through me like a knife, cutting me open. This story SHATTERED ME into many pieces. Each piece of this poignant tale took and was a part of me. My heart bled and beat for this book, a book that BROKE ME IN THE BEST WAY!!!

”What if I was made for you and you were made for me?”

When you begin and end a story in TEARS, one so full of PASSION, PROMISE, and POIGNANCY, where every FEEL IS FELT, that story is one that you’ll FEEL FOREVER!!! I SURRENDERED my body, breath, heart, soul, and every emotion to Nightshade. I was so LOST in this story that I didn’t want to be found. Fire and ice. Dark and light. Love and loss. Holy RUSH!!! Nightshade is the BEST EMOTIONAL CHAOS!!! This soul-shattering story is one not only read but FELT long after the last page.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 soul-shattering stars

Review – Ashes To Ashes by Rebecca Norinne

Hold on for just a second while I put out the flames from this scorching hot and absolutely beautiful story. This book is very different from Rebecca’s previous works. While her other books don’t lack in the heat department, this one turns it up about 10 notches while still delivering the most beautiful love story. This book will slither it’s way into your heart and soul and make you feel so satisfied.
Let’s start with Rae. Rae is a tough cookie. She may have gone down a bad path in dealing with how her ex-husband treated her, but make no mistake about it, she is one tough chick. She is fed up with being treated like dirt and has no problem standing up for what she now wants in life. Her happiness is her priority and I so admire that in a strong woman.
Now onto Ash. Oh Ash. I freaking LOVE Ash. He is a badass alpha male with a dominant side and a need to be loved that he can’t see. He’s been through a lot in his life, like Rae, though they’re stories are significantly different. He is her rock way before the two of them even realized it.
When these two are forces back together after a one night stand, both are left facing the hidden feelings they’ve harbored all this time. The chemistry is off the charts explosive. The way they emotionally connect though, that takes the cake. Rebecca has seriously stepped her game in a big way with this book, proving the immense diversity she possess with her writing skills. Every book she has released has been nothing short of 5- 6 stars, and I don’t forsee that changing anytime soon with the talent she repeatedly shows us.

I had it all, or so I thought. Until my husband betrayed me and my entire world came crashing down. I turned to alcohol and sex to numb my pain—a different city each night, a new man in my bed. But I’m sober now, and I’m working my way back up the country music charts.

But then the death threats started and I needed protection. When my new bodyguard walked in the room, I couldn’t believe my eyes: the one man from my long spiral down who I never forgot. The one who played my body like an instrument.
Now we’re on the run from a madman and all I want is to forget about everything. To pretend this isn’t my life. To lose myself in him. So I let him take control.
I tried telling myself it was only sex, but I’ve done the unthinkable: I’ve fallen in love with a man who can never love me back. Because Ash has demons of his own—ones he never talks about and never will. I know I should walk away before it’s too late. But I’m an addict, and I need him.
How do you give up something you love, even when you know it’s bad for you? How do you walk away from a man like Ash Devereaux?

Review – Sinful Empire by Meghan March

 6 stars
Holy FUCKING shit!!! I know I will have to edit this review for Amazon, but this has to be said. This series was out of those world epic, but Meghan has absolutely obliterated this series! I couldn’t have asked for more.
Meghan proves time and time again that her writing skills far exceed most others, but with the conclusion to this trilogy, she has just jumped to a whole new level. Obviously I’m not going to discuss one thing about the contents of this book. No, this review is just to tell you the sheer magnitude of thrill and excitement you get from this book.
Sinfully delicious and mesmerizing beyond belief, this book was out of this galaxy superb. I have no idea how Meghan can top this perfection, but I know without a shadow of a doubt she will accomplish that task. Why you ask? Because she’s Meghan FUCKING  March!!!!!  That’s why. Enough said!!

Review – If I’d Known by Rebecca Donovan

If Id Known eCover

If I’d Known by Rebecca Donovan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

”Act the way you want everyone to see you, no matter how you’re really feeling.”

Sometimes you read a book that BLASTS through you like countless cannons catapulting your heart, a heart that pounds out of your chest, where you want to scream it—it being If I’d Known by Rebecca Donovan—to the world!!! I want to scream about this story that struck me hard. My mind is still stuck in this story, wrapped up in this mastery of words that OWNED ME. If I’d Known still OWNS every ounce of me.

Trust, Kindness and Boldness. They sound like the best characteristics to possess. Except they’re the reason for just about everything that’s ever gone wrong.

If I’d Known, this fast-paced young adult romantic thriller, is UNIQUE and UNPUTDOWNABLE. It’s CYNICAL and CRUEL at times. It has moments that are just CREEPY. Yet I found myself WHOLEHEARTEDLY BEGUILED, so BEWITCHED with this GOOSE-BUMP INDUCING BOOK, where I DEVOURED every word as if it were my air to breathe. This tale ENAMORED ME where I couldn’t stop reading.

Thrilling and tragically flawed, If I’d Known is a novel so compelling and well-told that it will appeal to older readers as well as young adults. If I’d Known details the life of a troubled teen girl highly attuned to virtues, and delivers a satisfying, but shocking twist ending. The cast of strong characters in this spellbinding saga are simply striking—so full of life—that you can’t help but fall under their spell.

Sassy, smart, and beautiful, the heroine, Lana, is charming without trying at all. She has survived several forms of hell, her young life full of obstacles that would set back most teen girls. However, this teen is wise beyond her years. I LOVED that she’s refreshingly real, brutally honest with sarcasm that is humorous. I admired her honesty and loved her spirit.

I’ve come to accept that, regardless of how honest or silent I am, the truth is fated to destroy my life.

Lana forges a strong bond, a connection full of chemistry, with gorgeous but rebellious Joey during the most unusual of adventures. This heroine and hero MELT together. Their MAGNETIC PULL is unstoppable.

I can’t breathe, but I don’t want to. I grip the front of his shirt, needing to get closer. Needing him. His arm tightened around my waist. I am lost in him, in this kiss.

One night out with friends was fun until it wasn’t.
One night and monsters surfaced from the shadows.
One night possibly altered their lives’ paths.
One night almost resulted in their end.
One night would burn in their memories forever.

This is one BANG-UP BOOK!!! If I’d Known is a HEART-POUNDING RUSH, a raw and riveting roller coaster of a romantic toe-curling thriller. I was BREATHLESS from this book that buzzes with excitement and emotion. Intense. Intriguing. Intoxicating. Irresistible. This story stimulates until the end.

If I’d Known is an aspiring young adult novel with an engaging voice, believable characters, clever plot and some sensational writing. Rebecca Donovan pulls you into the story with a PARALYZING INTENSITY where you can’t stop devouring the words until the last page. If I’d Known whets the appetite where you’re left hungry for MORE. Electrifying, emotionally complex, and blisteringly smart, If I’d Known is UTTERLY UNFORGETTABLE.

”Don’t lose yourself to anyone.”

💋💋💋💋💋 honest kisses

“What better way to amplify the anticipation than a surprise release—especially for a series filled with suspense and mystery.” – Rebecca Donovan

“We’re all cursed—every single one of us.”

Optimism seeps from every pore of my body. I truly believe that what’s supposed to happen… will! In that regard, I don’t know how to give up; it’s not part of my biological make up.

I’m a passionate (and some would say, overly enthusiastic) person. I learn by doing (and have been burned more times that I’d like to admit), but I will always throw my entire self into whatever I do – fail or succeed.

I think this is evident when I write, leaving nothing behind and spilling it all out on the pages. I give it all to my readers – love it or hate it.

The path I’m on is very often my own, veering off the beaten path at the sight of something more interesting or captivating, getting caught in the vines and thorns in order to experience the beauty and intrigue others often pass by. And I always meet the most interesting people along the way…
