Review – American Queen by Sierra Simone

Stunned.

I wasn’t any where near ready for this. Not even close.

I am just absolutely stunned and still vibrating from this amazing read. Sierra Simone has written a book that is moving, sensual, so damned sexy. I cannot believe how amazing this story is. This is one hot steamy tale that you don’t want to put down until the very last page – and even then? You want more. Much, much more.

Yes, this is a political story. This is Washington seen through the eyes of someone who suffered through the backstabbing, the dirty deals and insider sessions. Greer decided that she was done with that life. But one visit from Vice President Embry Moore would change her life forever. One visit that would be the catalyst of one the most intense, possessive and incredible love triangles that I have ever read. It didn’t matter the age difference between Greer and her President or that while she longed for him after their first meeting, he would find love with another. It didn’t matter that while she loved her President, she also loved his second in command and that she gave herself to him.

What mattered was that no matter how they all tried to deny it, Greer, Ash and Embry are made for each other. Their unconventional, and in some eyes, sinful relationship could cause a scandal and bring down a Presidency. They have all been warned. They know their actions can have consequences. That doesn’t matter. These three together are fire and passion. Theirs is an all consuming, uncompromising love with the President clearly at the head of the relationship. The King with his Queen and Prince entralled and adoring. It was awe inspiring to watch these characters grow and their story progress, evolve and grab me so by the throat that I was left speechless as I turned the last page.

Again, I am still so stunned. American Prince cannot get here fast enough. Sierra, you are simply amazing. This story clearly showcases your ever growing talent and that you love and know your classics very well. Highly recommend this book! VERY HIGHLY!

FANTASTIC!

It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.

My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

This is the story of an American Queen.

excerpt
“I kept thinking about what I wanted to give you today for our wedding day, and honestly, Greer, there isn’t really anything I couldn’t give you. Jewelry or exotic vacations or rare editions of the books you love, anything I could have dreamed of, I could get for you—but they were just things. I didn’t want to get you a thing for a curio cabinet or a jewelry box. I wanted to give you something that you could carry with you through our new life together. Something that would make you a promise.”
The best man’s hand brushes up against my stocking-covered ankle and I gasp.
“What is it, princess?” Ash’s low voice comes over the phone line.
“Embry…I mean, Ash, I—” I can’t find the words just then, because Embry’s hand slides up my calf and everything stops. My thoughts, my feelings, my guilt—my world shrinks to Ash’s voice on the phone and the fingers moving past my knee and Embry’s face, so controlled. But lust and anger and determination are fissuring across that control, and I can see his wide pupils and the pulse pounding in his neck and the trembling of his lips.
What is happening? I think distantly to myself. What am I letting happen…and all while I’m on the phone with my soon-to-be husband?
And then the world slams back into motion, and I make a strangled noise, stumbling backwards, away from Embry. He starts to stand and come toward me, and I hold out one of my hands, moving backwards until my back is pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the skyline.
Embry looks down at my shaking hand and then back up to me, those fissures in his control now full-on fractures, and he says, “Greer…”
“Don’t test me,” I whisper, not sure if I’m whispering to the groom or the best man. “Don’t test me like this.”
This isn’t happening. I missed a connection somewhere, misunderstood something vital, because there is no way, no fucking way, that Ash is offering his best friend to me as some sort of wedding present. This is my wishful thinking turned toxic, this is my darkest fantasies turning into delusion—
“I want you to let Embry give you my gift,” Ash tells me. “While I listen. That’s what you’ll give me in exchange: every single moan, pant and cry will be for me.”
“You can’t be saying what I think you’re saying,” I say.
“Oh, don’t worry, angel. I’ll get something out of this for me too.”
I hear the dark roughness in his voice and I realize I’m so very, very wet.
“Close your eyes,” Ash orders.
I do, my panting somehow louder in my head when I can’t see anything. The glass window against my back is cool and strong, just like Ash’s words in my ear.
“I know you’re wet. I know it like I know Embry is hard right now, just from the mere thought of touching you. You want it, don’t you? You want it so much that you’re shaking with the effort it’s taking to hold yourself back.”
“But I don’t want to hurt you.” It’s my final plea, my final argument, my final grasp at some semblance of sanity. My skirts are almost up at my waist now, and I know the moment Embry catches sight of my delicate, hand-embroidered French panties because he takes in a sharp breath, as if punched in the gut.
“It all hurts,” Ash says. “It hurts watching you two watching each other. It hurts watching him with other people. There’s no part about this that doesn’t hurt, but what’s the alternative? Living without the pain means living without each other.”

Review – Written In The Scars by Adriana Locke

Written in the Scars Ebook Cover.jpg

review-graphic

Some books make you laugh.

Some books make you cry.

Some books act as a distraction to take you away from reality.

Then there are books like this one. Words that change your mind, imprint on your heart and shake you to your core. A story that whether it was meant to or not, heal not only your hurts but mend the hurts of another carrying an ugly awful pain right along you. Words that show the brutal honesty and heartbreaking roller coaster reality of marriage, friendship and family.

Marriage isn’t always easy. It isn’t always the fairy tale that we read about. Sometimes even the strongest of bonds can be broken by the obstacles of life and happily ever after isn’t always guaranteed – it has to be earned. Elin and Ty have always loved each other. Ty knew that Elin was his future from the moment he saw her. Elin wanted nothing more than to love Ty… be his wife and have a family. But as Written begins, the couple isn’t in that happy marriage and building the family that they planned.  They are separated and the pain of that separation has taken on a life of its own. There are secrets that both are carrying. And there is anger. So very much anger.  Stressed from an unfortunate accident, feeling lost and worthless for months, Ty had left his wife – and has returned to town.  Still unsure of where he stood with his wife, Ty wondered if he could reclaim his love, his home and his sense of self.  Elin never dreamed that she and the man she has loved for so long would end up at opposite ends of a relationship.  But here they were – and she wasn’t sure if the fighting and anguish was worth it.

Adriana Locke is such an amazing talent. As she weaved Elin and Ty’s story, their pain is so gut wrenching, so unbearably real. The miscommunications, insecurities and the fight to hang on are evident in every sentence, every paragraph, on every single page.  Still these two loved each other so much.  Is love enough though? Can love overcome heartbreak and the loss of a dream of home and family? The secondary characters in this book aren’t really secondary. They are just as integral and vital to this story as Elin and Ty. Without Jiggs and Lindsay – Elin’s brother and her best friend – there would be a void in the story. Without Cord there is no story. He is the glue holding together this family of five. In this story, Cord McCurry is proof that family is not always blood. Family is made in the heart and nurtured in the soul.

As I read on through this thought provoking story, I had to face my own personal demons and my own struggles. To say that I identified with Elin in every way is an understatement. I shed so many tears right along with her. I felt her anguish and hoped for her healing.  I believed in their marriage even when Elin didn’t.  I rooted for Ty and celebrated as he fought for what he wanted. I prayed as I turned the pages that Elin could find a way to forgive Ty and that Ty could forgive himself.  I was right there with them. All credit to an amazing story teller.

Emotionally stirring and beautifully written.  I couldn’t put it down when I started and truly, I didn’t want to. No one reading this book will walk away unchanged. This story isn’t so much about the white hot burning romance between two people as the sweet long lasting journey that their love story takes. That journey was not without pit stops, speed bumps and accidents. Even the truest love can veer off course.  It was Elin and Ty knowing in their heart of hearts that no matter what the scars from those pit stops, speed bumps and accidents were proof that they could survive anything.  Love always wins.

Fantastic, Addy!  Absolutely the very best  that you have written and one of the best books of 2016!

synopsis.jpg

Falling in love is easy.

Falling out of love is the hardest thing in the world.

And Elin and Ty Whitt are terrible at it.

The first time the local basketball star smiled at Elin, she was a goner. It was just so damn easy to fall for the dark-haired hometown hero with his charming smile and strong, athletic build.

Thousands of sleepy smiles, aimless drives down country roads, and squeaks of the backdoor after a swing shift later, reality hits. And it hits hard. Falling in love was definitely the easy part. Watching it break apart was impossible.

Through the tears, the second-guesses, the memories of a life built together, the world keeps spinning. With each turn comes clarity and hope—sometimes in the form of a pair of muddy boots by the back door or from the words of a wise friend.

When Ty shows back up with a new found determination to put his family back together, Elin’s torn between the fights of the past and the possibility of a new start. This is the man that holds her heart, the man she loves beyond anything else. But this is also the one person in the world that can cause her the most pain.

Life’s not always easy. Love’s not for the faint of heart. But with life comes lessons and Ty and Elin have the scars to prove it. But it’s their love written in those scars that will hold them together … or break them apart.

EXCERPT

His mouth falls, his eyes leaving mine and heading across the lake to some place, some memory, some thought I’m not privy to. He slips off the back of the truck and faces the lake for a long minute. When he turns to me, he’s resigned to a decision.

“I tell the boys on my team that we don’t quit,” he says, his tone steady. “I’m always reminding them that we set our eyes on a prize and we work our tails off until we get there. Regardless of how painful, even though it might hurt, we get to the finish line.”

“Sounds like good logic,” I say, swallowing a lump that’s suddenly lodged in my throat.

“It is. In theory. But I’m rethinking it now.” He shoves his hands in his pockets and squares his shoulders up to me. “Sometimes you have to let things go. Just because you start on a path, even if you’re balls-to-the-wall at first, doesn’t mean you should stay on it. It’s less quitting, I guess, and more adjusting. Moving on to the next thing you think you want.”

He knows I’m dying for him to expound, that I’m terrified that he means he’s decided my recent rhetoric is right. Even though that’s what I’ve asked him to do, I can’t bear to hear it come out of his mouth. He knows this, yet he doesn’t go on. He waits for me to respond.

With a voice shakier than I’d like, I give in. “What are you moving on from now?”

Slowly, inch-by-inch, the corner of his mouth upturns. With every movement, every flinch, my heartbeat picks up.

“I quit pretending like I don’t know what we’re doing,” he says. “I’ve tried to ease back into this because I think that’s what you want. I’ve slept on that fucking futon in Cord’s room with that stupid dog licking me in the face every morning long enough.” He smirks, cocking a brow. “Baby, I’m coming home. If you don’t like it, too damn bad.”

Malcolm – The Meeting by Jade Sinner

Karen's Review.png

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sometimes you need a quick fix when reading, especially if you are a busy mama or have a demanding job. You need a tale that is going to tempt you to read further but one that you can quickly gobble up in one sitting. You need a story by the dynamic duo of authors, Jade Sinner, which will heat you up but hit your heart along the way. Malcolm, the latest sensation by Jade Sinner, is a sexy and spellbinding story filled with swoon.

From beginning to end, I was beguiled by this book that is pure Jade Sinner BUT BETTER. Even if this story were a full-length novel, I would not have been able to put this intoxicating and intense story down. Malcolm not only burned my body but stormed my soul, hitting my heart where my emotions were engulfed in this short story, pulling at every part of me.

Beautiful brunette and blue-eyed Amanda ‘Mandy’ Wells is lamenting on her life, the life she lost a few years ago when a tragedy took her husband, leaving Mandy alone to raise her baby. Robbed of joy, Mandy focuses on her boy.

The heartache Mandy has endured by age 25 resonated pain that poured into me where I could not stop the waterworks that fell.

“It’s been so long since I’ve thrown caution to the wind and let myself go. One night of abandoned, reckless fun. How difficult would that be to do?”

Pressured by her best friend and mother, Mandy agrees to a blind date at a bar. A blind date who she can’t find, but instead found the gorgeous dark-haired and blue-eyed Malcolm Peppernick, a former hockey player with a body built for sin.

“There’s something about her…I want to know more. I’m wanting to know her like I’ve never wanted to know anyone…There’s a pull—a magnetic force—drawing me closer to her.”

The immediate chemistry catches both Mandy and Malcolm off guard, both are at war, wanting to put their past lives to rest but unsure how to recover.

“Our lips unite. I capture hers, tasting her shiny gloss as we kiss…wanting more…This beautiful lady is the power and energy I hadn’t realized I was missing.”

Mandy must decide if she’s going to throw caution to the wind and start to finally live again.

“As heat and wetness flood my core, I contemplate how I went from nun to slut in the matter of forty minutes.”

“This is one night.”

Malcolm Teaser 2.png

One night. One night that feels like fate fell on her lap. Can Mandy lose the reigns of the past long enough to spend one hot night with a stranger or will guilt eat her alive? Fate and the past both are at war…only one will win.

“You said you want one night. One night doesn’t end with a kiss. It begins with one.”

Malcolm Teaser.png

A short story with soul and steam, Malcolm is packed with perfection. Tender and touching yet tantalizing, this tale is pure addiction! I was wholeheartedly hooked! Hook. Line. Sinker. My soul sunk into this story along with my heart.

Malcolm is different than the other creations by this author duo in that it hits you with even more heart than heat in what is Jade Sinner’s BEST BOOK YET! Malcolm is so much more than a short sexy and sugary sweet story. Malcolm’s messages are as heart-hitting as the story itself: Live life to its fullest and don’t let it pass you by even if it means brushing yourself off and starting over again.

Like a fine wine with age, Jade Sinner’s books get better and better. Each tale is more terrific than the last. Jade Sinner’s short, sweet, and sexy stories have become my addiction and oh was I achingly addicted to Malcolm. Jade Sinner’s stories have quickly become my go-to fast fixes. It’s impressive to see their stories morph into something amazing. Something better. Something beautiful. Something you need to read like Malcolm.

Review – Hard to Fall by Marquita Valentine

Hard to Fall by Marquita Valentine

karens-review

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly? ~Erin Hansen

I decided to leap blindly into Hard to Fall, the fourth story in the Take the Fall series by Marquita Valentine. Sometimes you just have to take that jump in life and in books. So I jumped, free-falling into Hard to Fall. I had not read any other stories in this series or any of this author’s books. Oh did I fall hard for Hard to Fall, a spellbinding and sexy story of love against the odds that hijacked my heart with a hero who made me swoon.

From the very first page, I sank into this story, submerging myself where I quickly became spellbound. The sweet, small town setting and vibe brought me back to my time living in a little North Carolina town. This Southern gal now living in Europe was transported back into the South where Hard to Fall felt a bit like coming home.

Coming home also meant politics. Growing up in the D.C. suburbs of Virginia, I could not help but live and breathe politics—whether I wanted to or not. I share a dislike of politics just like the hero in this story; his was part of his family where mine was part of my roots.

“It’s our family business that comes first… Walkers are career politicians. Have been since the Revolutionary War…and I f**king hate it.”

Hayden Walker with his dark blond hair, blue eyes, tall, and muscular body is the definition of hot. Speaking of hot, Hayden is a fire captain, every woman’s fantasy. A hardworking and hard-partying fire captain who doesn’t want to follow in his senator father’s political footsteps though it has been Hayden’s destiny since day one. Hayden feels hopeless and that feeling hits me, where I want to tell him to run for the hills and never cave into the cut-throat career of politics that can eat you alive.

“I know this is my duty. I know it is what’s expected of me, but I have a job, a career, but none of it matters to anyone but me.”

One distraction from Hayden’s political calling is the wedding of his best friend Hunter in Mexico, a much-needed getaway that comes at the right time for Hayden. A time to let loose and party before the reigns are tightened and the political noose is around his neck. Oh does Hayden party hard, so hard that a la Hangover style, he wakes up the next day in a blur though the beautiful woman he spots the next morning looks oddly familiar.

Saylor Dean, a beautiful brunette with brown eyes and curves in all the right places is the daughter of a famous Hollywood actress and absentee father of a Senator and runs an animal shelter. Her heart is as big as her brown eyes.

“Some might call me a lonely little rich girl with first world problems. I disagree with that descriptor, well, the lonely part anyway.”

Saylor may have gone to see her best friend, Evangeline, get married in Mexico but had no idea that she too would become a bride. One tonight together in Mexico was forgettable for Hayden but unforgettable for Saylor.

“Our night together was nothing but a fluke. Worse, it was forgettable. I am forgettable. Easily disregarded.”

I wanted to reach though the pages and hug Saylor and life her low self-esteem that had my heart breaking. Hayden can’t help but be attracted to his the best friend of his best friend’s wife; a woman who keeps crossing his path. A woman who he has no clue is his wife. Saylor is unique and Hayden can’t stop pursuing her.

“I like the beat of your drum.”

Hayden has never felt anything for a woman before beyond a physical attraction. Saylor is special; she is a spark of light in his darkened world that feels hopeless.

“You make me feel like…things can get better for me. Like my own ray of sunshine.”

His father has increased the political pressure, giving Hayden the choice of landing a bride in 45 days to help the Senator’s campaign or run for the second vacant senator position himself. Little does he know he is already married.

“My reprieve from a life of politics is quickly coming to a close.”

The chemistry between Saylor and Hayden is like fireworks, sparking with passion and promise.

“He gently grabs my chin, forcing me to acknowledge he’s there. With incite tenderness, he kisses me and I tremble.”

htf-teaser

The past parades through Hayden and Saylor like a tornado, threatening to destroy everything and everyone in its path. Secrets and scandals await their debut. In the dirty world of politics, love may never stand a chance.

“I finally matter to someone…If I tell him the truth, I could lose that…I would lose that. He won’t look at me in the same way again.”

Politics is often fake but everything about this politically-powered romance felt raw and real. I could not help but feel every word I read in Hard to Fall, a tender and touching romance full of twists and turns that tugged at my heartstrings. The hero in Hard to Fall, Hayden, stole my swoon as he was utter perfection in the lethal mix of sexy alpha with a huge heart. The small town setting in the South brought more sugar to an already sweet romance. The surprise scandals with this tale’s twists and turns kept the reader guessing and wanting more.

Hard to Fall was my first book by Marquita Valentine and oh did I fall hard in love! I FELT ALL OF THE SWOON. This story quickly wrapped itself around my heart and never let go.

synopsis.jpg

As a hardworking, hard-partying firefighter, Hayden Walker values his career and his freedom. But as the eldest son of a U.S. senator, he agreed long ago to follow in his father’s footsteps and run for office, and that means settling down and marrying the picture-perfect wife. Hayden just isn’t ready for that sort of commitment . . . not with women like beautiful, curvy Saylor Dean—the naughty bridesmaid he recognizes the morning after his buddy’s wedding—tempting Hayden to stay single forever.

The unwanted love child of a well-known politician, Saylor has always felt isolated and alone, her only solace the animal shelter she runs in Forrestville. Then she meets Hayden at her best friend’s wedding. During their impulsive and unforgettable night together, Saylor feels desired like never before—only to wake up and find that Hayden doesn’t remember his drunken proposal, or their hasty marriage, or her. But when the truth comes out, Saylor finds it’s a lot harder to fall out of love than in love.

Review – Bold Beautiful Love by Angel Payne

bbl-cover

review-graphic

In every review that I have completed for Angel Payne’s Cimarron Series, I have always made a point to let her know how much I enjoy – no, ADORE – my trips to Arcadia. I can say that the series is paradise on the pages. As I finished Bold Beautiful Love and closed the book on Cassian and Mishella’s whirlwind romance I sent the following message to Angel:

“Red, you know I love everything that I have read from you. You are ridiculously talented and I couldn’t be more happy to know your work. And I cannot believe I’m going to say this… I love this Temptation spin off more than the original series! OMG! Cassian Court… There are NO WORDS for this man. He’s perfection. And Ella? I adore her. Just wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!!!!”

Bold Beautiful Love starts with Mishella’s return to her homeland after a catastrophic terrorist attack. With her home in ruins, Ella must also face even bigger obstacles – dangers at court, a long time friendship left in tatters, defending and believing in the man who has changed her heart and given her a love unlike any she has ever known. The greed and ultimate betrayal of family…

The romance in this book… this ENTIRE Temptation Court series. I have never sighed so much, swooned so much. Cassian Court is in a class all of his own. He’s solid in his love for Mishella. He is determined to have her – all of her. He’s a man on a mission to save his beautiful woman from the despicable people that she calls family and have her see herself for all that she is. Having fallen for more than one of Angel’s leading men, I can honestly say that Cassian Court took my breath away. I want him all to myself. Watching Mishella transform from a brow beaten, sad servant to a triumphant, strong woman? Amazing! She made my heart soar. To see her embrace her love and to stand on her own two feet under Cassian’s care made this book the perfect ending to a series that should be read by everyone reading this review!

Bold Beautiful Love has twists and turns that stun. A cast of characters that made me as angry as they did happy. While I bragged on the romance, don’t believe this book wasn’t sexy. Oh no! Cassian may be a romantic but he’s a dirty dominant with a flair for naughty talk in fluent Arcadian. It made my toes tingle. Oh, Cassian Court…

This is a must read! The entire Temptation Court series is an absolute MUST READ! Fantastic, Angel!

Review – Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

RS Cover.png

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

Karen's Review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Let me share this whole new world with you.” ~Aladdin

Our lives may not always be fairy tales, but we can experience them in books every day. We can feel the fantasy; we can live the dream. Who doesn’t want to be a princess? Emma Chase whisks you into a better-than-Cinderella fairy tale in Royally Screwed where you feel that fantasy as you dive into one delicious dream. Alluring and all-consuming, Royally Screwed is a modern day rags-to-riches romance with a sexy Prince and the perfect blend of heat, humor, and heart.

Feeling like a Disney Princess, I dove into the delicious Royally Screwed where I wanted to take my time, sprinkling myself into this dream like fairy dust, where I could bask in the glow of wonder. Now for the reality: I devoured Royally Screwed with a deep hunger like an addict, ignoring everything and everyone, not wanting to surface for air. I could not sink fast enough into this story that quickly became my crack, captivating and claiming all of me. Royally Screwed instantly thrust me into a royal kingdom with one panty-melting and passionate Prince where I wanted to be his Cinderella.

Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco is tall, blue-eyed, dark-haired, and handsome with a delicious body and dirty-talking mouth.

“What do you like to do in your spare time?”

“I enjoy rock climbing, driving as fast as I can without crashing, flying, good scotch, B-movies, and a scathingly passive-aggressive verbal exchange with the Queen…and I like to f**k. Which is probably the answer my fans would rather hear. The Palace, however, would lose their ever-loving minds if I had said that.”

RS Teaser 6.png

His Royal Hotness indeed. The Prince’s inner thoughts were icing on the cake.

While Nicholas enjoys the royal perks, he is not a fan of his princely duties and wants to live as a real guy for once. According to the Queen, this hot and hilarious Prince doesn’t take those duties seriously. To save the kingdom from further embarrassment and worldwide mockery, the Queen decided that the Prince must find his Princess from a list of suitable royalty of course.

“The Queen has me by the balls—and I’m going to have to bleach my brain for even completing that thought—but besides that, I still have time.”

With only six months to find a bride, the Prince does what only a royally hot alpha who hates his royally ridiculous responsibilities can do: Run off to New York City to embark on one last adventure, far away from his princely duties, before he is forced into a wedding he doesn’t want. Little does Nicholas count on was his adventure being one where a beautiful waitress hurls a pie at his face after an offer he thought she wouldn’t refuse, and it’s a fixation at first sight.

“I’ve been told my cock is a gift from God. You should test that opinion tonight. You know…for religion.”

HOLY. HOT. That line may be cheesy but it fans the flame, heating me into molten lava.

Beautiful Olivia Hammond is struggling financially to help keep her family afloat in a bakery serving her famous pies. One Prince wants to devour her like pie and Olivia doesn’t have time for a distraction, no matter how tempting he is or how scrumptious he looks.

“I feel like a James Bond martini—shaken—but also stirred.”

The Prince is a determined man who has always taken what he wants. What or who he wants is Olivia, the gal with the sassy mouth and lush lips that he wants to taste. His raunchy and racy humor along with his charm is slowly seducing Olivia.

“Possessively. Boldly. Like he owns me. And in this moment he does. Holy f**k. Does he know how to kiss. I think I have an orgasm of the mouth. A mouth-gasm. And it’s amazing.”

RS Teaser 5.png

Combine the seductive charm and heated humor with one passionate and soul-shattering kiss and Olivia falls into the rabbit hole, completely smitten by the oh-so-persuasive Prince.

Somehow, perhaps halfway through Royally Screwed, my laughing and lusting was overcome by swooning as this story penetrated my heart, piercing it like Cupid’s arrow. Hook. Line. Sinker. I was royally smitten and my heart was royally sunk.

“I smile—and I know it’s radiant. Because that’s how I feel. Right now—in his arms. Lit from the inside, like a luminous shooting start that won’t ever dim.”

RS Teaser 3.png

The Prince moves from seducer to seduced as Olivia’s power over him is like that of no other woman. She is the first to see the man behind the mirror…the real Nicholas.

“She looks into my eyes and I’m lost. Wrecked. Owned.”

Olivia has the Prince under her spell, and he wants to remain spellbound. Olivia doesn’t want to end the best thing that’s ever happened to her, the man who is more than just a Prince. The man who is sweet, sexy, funny, and amazing who has stolen her heart.

“…I see him clearly. It’s the face of a fallen angel. A fallen angel with secrets in his eyes.”

Prince Nicholas’ duty is to marry a noble bride, not a commoner. If only the law allowed him to marry Olivia, the woman who has quickly captured his heart but one who must be a temporary fix because duty calls.

“I should’ve left her alone. I should’ve walked away the moment I started to feel…everything. I had no business trying to keep her. It will forever be the cruelest thing I’ve ever done.”

RS Teaser.png

Secrets, lies, and an unyielding Queen equate to one royal mess. Nicholas is royally screwed.

“We can’t change who we are—not a queen, a prince, or a girl from New York. Like he told me once…royalty is forever.”

RS Teaser 2.png

Royally Screwed is royally incredible, one unputdownable and unforgettable tale! I fell fast and hard for Prince Nicholas, one of my new best book boyfriends and amazing alphas. I fell fast and hard for the secondary characters, Prince Henry the little brother, and Franny, Olivia’s new royal friend whose lady balls were sky high. I fell fast and hard for Royally Screwed, an immensely intoxicating and incredible modern day Cinderella story. I FELL FAST AND HARD FOR IT ALL!.

This book is bloody brilliant! Royally Screwed blew me away as one of best books I’ve read this year and ever! I did not expect this story to twist and turn itself around me where I FELT ALL THE FEELS. I laughed and lusted, and then cried happy and sad tears. Royally Screwed brought the heat and humor, but also a heap of heart coupled with courage and hope where I could not help but FALL IN UTTER LOVE with this rom-com that is SO MUCH MORE.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Emma Chase’s masterpieces, but I was a fool to procrastinate. This author is one of my new favorites: those who BRING IT ALL to their work, where their imaginations, humor, and hearts are poured into every beautiful and brilliant word. These go-to authors write books that aren’t simply stories but escapes from reality, adventures where you free-fall so hard that you don’t to surface for air.

Emma Chase sprinkled fairy dust on the pages of Royally Screwed, an enchanting and entertaining story of epic love, a gem so beautiful and bright. Royally Screwed is pure magic, penned and painted to perfection, a movie playing while reading. I had laughs in my gut, love in my heart and stars in my eyes. The story that’s an ace in a sea of cards, I can’t wait to get Royally Screwed again as my fairy tale was over too soon.

SYNOPSIS

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

EXCERPT

“I have a plan.”

We’re in the library of the suite. Nicholas is behind the desk, his hair falling still damp over his forehead from a recent shower, while James and Tommy stand near the windows.

“Take off your clothes,” I say, dropping a stuffed backpack at my feet.

He stands, giving me a curious, dimple-flashing smile that makes my stomach tingle.

“I like this plan.”

He pulls his shirt over his head—and at the sight of that gorgeous chest and ripped abs, I have to close my mouth to stop the flow of drool.

“Should I send the lads to their room?” he asks.

I toss him a Beastie Boys T-shirt and ripped jeans from the backpack. “They can stay—I’ll get to them in a second.”

Nicholas puts on the outfit, his disguise for the day. I hold up a thick gold chain with a dangling cross, and he dips his head so I can loop it over his neck. Then I squirt gel into my hand and reach up on tiptoes to rub it through his hair—mussing it at the top and slicking the sides.

Perfect.

“Do you know how to drive a motorcycle?”

“Yes.”

“Excellent.” I pull a helmet with a full, tinted face shield out of the backpack and hold it up. “Marty’s bike is downstairs. He said to tell you: break it, you bought…a Ducati.”

Logan steps into the room from where he was stationed just outside the door, lifting his hand, like a traffic cop. “Hold on, now—”

Nicholas takes the helmet. “It’ll be fine, Logan.”

“And,” I say cautiously, turning to the three big, strong, probably-have-a-license-to-kill boys. “I want Nicholas and me to go on this outing alone. You guys stay here.”

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph.” Tommy says.

James makes the sign of the cross.

Logan takes another route. “No fuckin’ way. Not possible.”

But the look on Nicholas’s face says it’s definitely possible.

“No,” Logan insists again, his voice straining with a faint hint of desperation.

“I have an itinerary.” I take the sealed envelope out of the backpack and hand it to Logan. “I wrote everything down for you, just in case—exactly where we’ll be, every minute.” When he starts to tear it open I put my hand on his. “You can’t open it until after we’re gone—it’ll ruin the surprise. But I promise it will be all right. I swear on my life.”

My eyes drift from Logan to Nicholas. “Trust me.”

And I want him to—so much. I want to do this for him, give him something he hasn’t had. Something he’ll remember always: freedom.

Nicholas looks at the helmet, then at Logan. “What’s the worst that could happen?”

“Ah…you could get assassinated and the three of us will hang for treason.”

“Don’t be silly,” Nicholas scoffs. “We haven’t hung anyone in years.” He smacks Logan’s back. “It’d be the firing squad.”

Review – The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely

The Sexy One Cover.jpg

The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely

karens-review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The best relationships begin as friendships.

Sometimes you need more spice and sizzle when devouring a book. Other times you want that sweet story that makes you gush at the great love resonating throughout the read. Lauren Blakely went a bit rogue on The Sexy One—penning it in a dual POV, pumping it with more passion, and sweetening this story with more sugary goodness than her previous romances—and I LOVED EVERY MAGICAL MINUTE!!!

It didn’t take me but a few pages to realize that this romance from the lovely Lauren Blakely was different. Different in a sweet sigh sort of way. Different in a fluttery butterfly way. Different in THE BEST WAY.

Ahhh…The Sexy One. Don’t let this story’s name fool you; there is so much more sweetness than sexiness buried beneath The Sexy One. Subtly sexy and sugary sweet, The Sexy One is a good old-fashioned love story with a forbidden twist.

Simon Travers, a single and super sexy dad, develops a friendship with his little lady’s beautiful nanny, Abby. That friendship is full of sparks that are ready to ignite into a firestorm. This book was ready to go boom.

“If you look up ‘hot single dad’ in the dictionary, you’d find his picture…He’s the prize in the available dad sweepstakes.”

The Sexy One Teaser 4.jpg

Oh did Simon make me melt into a pool of goo from head to toe. Six feet three inches of hotness with broad shoulders, prize abs, facial stubble, dark blond hair, and crystal blue eyes made for one panty-melting piece of perfection. Add that hotness to the sexy and sweet single dad and I was DONE. DONE!

“For a bonus prize, add in that he’s an amazing father. That’s some sexy kryptonite right there.”

HOLY SWOON! I’ve succumbed to Simon and I haven’t even hit 5% into the story. This man is already everything and he hasn’t even opened his mouth yet.

Simon can’t help but be attracted to his nanny whose personality is as beautiful as her looks. Abby is a breath of fresh air and sunshine all wrapped into one pretty package. I LOVED SIMON. I LOVED ABBY. I wanted a love connection between these two beautiful people.

“Insta-lust. It’s morphed into a lot more than lust in all this time she’s spent in my home, with my family, with my kid. Admiration. Fondness. The real deal.”

the-sexy-one-teaser

Temptation is tough. So tough that temptation turns into a kiss, a scorching and sweet kiss, a kiss that can’t become more.

“I slant my mouth to hers. Our lips touch, and it’s like a world that was ordinary has now turned extraordinary…My entire body is alive…I’m lost in a kiss I barely saw coming, one I’m powerless to stop.”

Abby is affected by that kiss, the one that rocked her world, just like Simon.

“This man isn’t just turning me on. He’s turning me into a woman who wants only to be taken.”

The Sexy One Teaser 2.png

The passion poured from the pages as the chemistry crashed down on this couple. Simon is smitten. Though a relationship with his little girl’s nanny, his employee, is out. Forbidden.

“I might have stepped over a line yesterday, but that doesn’t give me permission to do it again. That’s the thing about lines. We make them, we break them, and we keep them. This is a line I need to maintain.”

The Sexy One is a tender friends-to-lovers tale that touched me HARD. I was quickly captivated and claimed. The Sexy One has THE CLICK—that connection to the characters and everything about the story from inside out—where I could not help but fall fast and furiously in INSTA-LOVE.

What I LOVE about Lauren Blakely’s books is that they aren’t just sets of series; they are family that are so perfectly and lovingly linked that they feel familiar. Reading each story with subtle ties to previous tales feels like coming home to characters who have carved out a piece of my heart. Characters who feel close. Characters who I love like family. Characters who feel like more.

Not the usual fire-hot and funny Lauren Blakely book that I’ve come to love in these last few interwoven series, The Sexy One is sweetness and smolder and MORE. SO MUCH MORE. So spellbinding. So swoon-filled. So sugary good. The Sexy One is a slow burn, a story that seduced me slowly and sensually in THE BEST WAY.

The perfect recipe for romance, this story is sheer brilliance from beginning to end. A breath of fresh air. The Sexy One is a ride to ROMANCE HEAVEN. I can’t help but ache for more of this blissful book as I’m not quite done swooning.

synopsis.jpg

From NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy new standalone romance…

Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day.
Did I mention she’s gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home.
Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She’s the nanny.
And that makes her completely off-limits… But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.

***

The other nannies in this city don’t call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.

I can’t risk my job for a chance at something more… can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

Review – The Promise by Melody Grace

The Promise Cover.jpg

The Promise by Melody Grace

karens-review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first time you fall in love, it changes you forever. No matter how hard you try, that feeling never goes away. ~Nicholas Sparks

Books are like love; we get lost in them. We feel them. We experience them. The Promise by Melody Grace crashed into me unexpectedly, casting me under its spell, where I could do nothing but succumb to this story that shattered my soul and hijacked my heart from beginning to end.

From the beginning, I knew that this was unlike any other Melody Grace book I’ve ever read; it was way better. I knew that this story with its simple title would not be simple at all. The Promise…so much meaning in two little words. So much hope. So much potential. Simple-sounding but significant words.

The Promise took me prisoner from page one, immersing me, as I was intoxicated by the beauty and brilliance of words that rivaled those in a Nicholas Sparks novel. My emotions entangled around me, engulfing every part of me where I felt powerless to stop the feelings that threatened to flow.

A 19-year-old girl, Claire Fortune, promised her dying best friend that she would complete her bestie’s bucket list. A bucket list that would take Claire out of her Texas hometown into unchartered territory, Boston, a big city for a small town girl. A new adventure. A new life.

“I half-expected this new adventure to be a dream that would dissolve with every yawning breath, and when it didn’t, I treasured it all over again.”

This bucket list was so out of the reserved Claire’s comfort zone but one she would see through until completion. A bucket list that altered Claire’s world. A bucket list that meant everything.

Sometimes love comes along when you least expect and changes you forever.

“I wasn’t looking for a man to walk through the door and change my life. I wasn’t that girl at all. But that’s not how this story goes.”

Claire didn’t expect to check off finding a man who would change her life, an item not on her bucket list, but one that was an unexpected surprise.

“I wanted something I’d never wanted before, with a fierce hunger that took the wind from my lungs.”

A gorgeous guy named Theo, a poet with a huge heart, walked into Claire’s life, shifting their worlds forever.

“We were gravity, we were the earth’s orbit, inexorably drawn together.”

Love is built on trust, so delicately woven that once broken, may break the already fragile love. Once lost, love is the greatest hit to the heart of all.

“I thought I knew what it was to love and lose, to feel that wretched agony split your world apart, the jagged edged of an empty forever taunting with every raw, ragged breath…and then I lost Theo too. It was over. It was all my fault.”

The Promise Teaser.png

I lost myself in The Promise, vanishing into this life-altering story, spellbound, as it seized every part of me: body, heart, and soul. The Promise hit my heart and shattered my soul where my emotions bled for this book. I was melded to every word. I smiled all the smiles. I cried all the tears. I felt all the feels. I FELT EVERYTHING.

Melody Grace poured her heart, blood, sweat, and tears into her most brilliant and best book yet, a perfectly poignant romance that remains for a lifetime like that epic love. The Promise is a story that is so much more than those two simple words. The Promise is taking that leap and living life to the fullest. The Promise is love against the odds. The Promise is happiness, hope, and heartbreak in a book bathed in beautiful words. The Promise is EVERYTHING.

Enjoy the little moments in life, for some day you will look back and realize they were the big things. Every day is a new beginning. A chance to love. A chance to live. A chance to dream. A chance to do! We live through our actions. We live through our memories. Sometimes we live through stories.

I lived and loved through The Promise, a breathtakingly beautiful and broken love story by Melody Grace, where I was wrecked in the worst and best way. I fell in deep and devotional love with The Promise. I gave my soul to this story—as if I had a choice—for it to be sucked in and stolen from me. I gave my heart to The Promise, this tender and touching tale, where it was massacred yet melted. I lost myself in The Promise where I may forever remain.

“Promise me one thing. Promise me you’ll live.”

Claire Fortune arrives in Boston with an old notebook and her best friend’s dying wish – to finish the scribbled bucket list that Hope didn’t have time to complete. Moment by moment, Claire builds a life she never dreamed of – until Theo walks into the coffee-shop one crisp September afternoon, and her careful plans scatter on the winds.

Sometimes a chance meeting can change a life forever.
Sometimes fate knows exactly what we need.

Perfect for fans of ‘Me Before You’ and ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, ‘The Promise’ brings together two people searching for a love that can overcome tragedy. A heartbreakingly romantic novel that challenges us to live – and love – every day as if it were our last.

Review – Honor by Jay Crownover

honor-cover

Honor by Jay Crownover

karens-review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“The devil is not as black as he is painted.”

Jay Crownover painted her latest story at the Point, Honor, in black and red with maybe a hint of white to represent the darkness that often eclipsed the light. I thought I was prepared for the battle this book would bestow on me, but nothing could have primed me for Honor, Jay Crownover’s blackest book ever. No pep talk or words of wisdom would have helped me walk through the pits of hell where the devil reigned, praying for a sliver of light. All I could do was dive in and silently pray for mercy on my emotions, hoping they would stay at bay.

I wanted to rush through this riveting read, soaking up all of the ‘Crownover Crack.’ My emotions engulfed like flames, making me read in smaller doses. Some of these doses delivered darts of darkness that made me pull away to try to catch my rapidly beating heart. Honor swiftly sunk my soul, where it drowned in the dark in hopes to see light. Honor was my enchantment. My escape. My EVERYTHING.

The Introduction warned me, willing those feels to stand down. The Prologue prepared me for this battle, a book I knew would wreck me…and oh did it tear me apart. This battle was dark and deadly, one forged from the depths of hell, but one where I had to survive. This dark devil’s tale became my demise and I wanted to fight by his side. I knew Nassir’s story would be the hardest to digest and the longest from which to heal, but a story perhaps more worthy than those of the others who paraded the Point.

“I wasn’t just part of a war…I was the war.”

Nassir Gates, the beautiful man who is the power of the Point, had already waged a war in his past life that made the Point look like a playground. This brave boy went to war alone with no one by his side, not even his family.

“There was an army of one, and the war he fought was for survival and self-preservation.”

I wanted to hug the boy who was robbed of his childhood. I could not help but break and bleed for the man forced to become the monster…all that he’s even known. Until one woman lends him a lifeline, a sliver of light in the depths of darkness. A life with lost meaning, Honor is Nassir’s reason to live.

“She was so much more than freedom. She was Honor.”

Honor Teaser 2.png

Nassir’s salvation and soul rest in Honor, a virtue and savior. Beautiful and vibrant Keelyn ‘Key’ Foster danced her way through Nassir’s club and into his heart, giving him a reason to care…a reason to live…for the first time ever. She left him once the devil revealed a glimpse of an angel, fleeing from her past. It’s time for the devil to pay his dues and take what’s taunted him and holds a piece of him: Honor.

“My devil wasn’t going to push me…he was going to do what devils did best. He was going to tempt me.”

Oh what a temptation Nassir Gates was from outside in. Golden skin and bronze eyes, dark hair, and a body made of perfection with a dominance that made me melt. This monster if made into superhero would be the Punisher, half villain and half hero, as Nassir walks a fine line between good and evil. Key did not stand a chance against this dashing devil.

“I was made to stand out not to blend in, and I was going back to the Point ready to shine.”

Of course, Nassir doesn’t stand a chance against Key either as she is the only one to unlock his frozen heart. Beauty, brains, and bravery in spades, Key is Nassir’s equal in every way. She is her own warrior. Both are a match made in heaven forged in hell.

“You are so deep inside of me I feel like I’m missing pieces of myself when you aren’t around.”

Honor Teaser.png

The devil melted me, even making me swoon. The heart I tried to freeze to stay strong in this story shattered so many times.

“He kissed like he did everything else, with finesse, with skill, with demand and force.”

His beautiful battle warrior wills him to fight as she doesn’t want to want Nassir, but can’t help the power and passion that permeate between them. This devil plays dirty to collect his dues, needing the Key to his heart.

“I’m not giving you my heart.”

“You don’t have to give it to me, because I’m going to take it one way or another.”

One dark angel…one mixed devil…one team…one war. Tragedy strikes, blood is shed, and war wages on the Point where lives are altered forever. The past may be the most dangerous weapon of all.

“When you make your home in hell, you want to have the devil in your corner.”

Honor Teaser.jpg

Oh did this devil dancing on the city of doom demolish every part of me. Honor dipped me into the darkness, dangling my emotions off a cliff, where I could not help but fall. I FELL HARD for Honor, a story that shook my soul with a force I did not see coming, but one that engulfed every emotion like a raging inferno. Honor BLEW ME AWAY!!!

Honor hit my heart hard, wrecking it—wrecking me—in the best way. Haunting, heartbreaking, and heroic, Honor is a must-read romance that rages among the ashes in an epic story of the hardest-fought love ever. HONOR WAS EVERYTHING!!!

Only Jay Crownover can make you fall in love with the devil and follow him to the pits of hell. Oh did I want this dashing devil in my corner, Nassir, my dark knight. I fell so deeply in love with a villain who—hidden beneath the mask—was a hero with a heart. Jay Crownover’s writing reaches inside deeply, grabs your heart, holding it in its hands, and then both hits and hugs it so hard. With each story Jay Crownover writes, I fall deeper into her spell that I’ve dubbed ‘Crownover Crack’ since meeting this author’s first masterpiece, Rule, years ago.

Those devastatingly beautiful books that authors pen like paint to a canvas, so vivid and valuable…THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT STEAL MY SOUL AND OWN ME FOR LIFE. Jay Crownover is one of those wondrous writers of brilliant books that break you, bind you, and brandish themselves to you forever. It’s that ‘Crownover Crack’ that hits me harder each time, where I’m rendered with the worst yet best emotional hangovers. My ride through heaven and hell was a huge honor, one I’d do again in a heartbeat.

5 ‘but worth 10’ heart-hitting and honor-filled stars

SYNOPSIS

Don’t be fooled.

Don’t make excuses for me.

I am not a good man.

I’ve seen things no one should, done things no one should talk about. Honor and conscience have no place in my life. But I’ve fought and I’ve survived. I’ve had to.

The first time I saw her dancing on that seedy stage in that second rate club, I felt my heart pulse for the first time. Keelyn Foster was too young, too vibrant for this place, and I knew in an instant that I would make her mine. But first I had to climb my way to the top. I had to have something more to offer her.

I’m here now, money is no object and I have no equal. Except for her. She’s disappeared. But don’t worry, I will find her and claim her. She will be mine.

Like I said, don’t be fooled. I am not the devil in disguise… I’m the one front and center.

EXCERPT

NASSIR

I was in the Point for less than a day when I got word that the man that ran the streets wanted to see me. I like to lay low. I liked to blend in, but here it didn’t see like that was an option. Instead of desert sand, the battleground here was asphalt and concrete, and as soon as my presence was known, it was as if this place recognized the fight lying dormant inside of me. This city called to it. I don’t know why I instantly felt like I fit, but I did. So I went to see the man in charge, fully expecting to offer him the last of my cash in order to gain a foothold in the desolate kingdom. I was a survivor. I could do without money for a little bit. No man was more resourceful than I was.

I walked into a disgustingly gaudy strip club, offended by its crass ugliness. I was expecting to meet the ruler of the land, state my intentions, and let him know I would bow to no man here or anywhere else ever again. I was expecting a shakedown and maybe some strong-arming since I was obviously foreign and undocumented. I was technically legal since my mother had been an American citizen before she fell in love with an extremist, but I hadn’t really existed on paper since she handed me over to killers and radicals when I was just a kid. Mossad didn’t want me to be anything other than their trained attack dog, so they hadn’t offered up any proof of identity for me during my time at the end of their string. What I wasn’t expecting was that my cause, my reason, my purpose for living, and my something to believe in would be dancing nearly naked on a horrifically ugly stage, looking like she was going to cry at any second. She was so much more than freedom.

              She was Honor.

She was beautiful, young, innocent, and so obviously resigned to her fate. It pulled at a heart I was stunned to find I still had buried somewhere deep underneath the brutal history that filled up the inside of me. It was the first time I felt it beat, and the pulse of its yearning scared and electrified me in equal measure.

I started to move toward her like all those invisible gods I spent my life killing for were leading me directly to her when suddenly a man twice her age and triple her size leaped from his seat next to the stage and hurled himself up onto the platform directly at the girl. In the blink of an eye he was on top of her, rough hands all over her naked flesh. I heard her scream. I saw her long limbs flail and thrash under him. A red haze filled my vision and I forgot all about staying quiet and laying low. I forgot all about being a ghost, and realized that I could channel the fight that had been forged into my very soul, the fight that was slumbering restlessly inside me at that moment, into protecting something so innocent. She woke the fight up and she kept it alive.

Review – Elicit by M. Never

Owned-Proofs

review-graphic

As I came to the end of Elicit, hating with all of my heart to see that last page pop up on my Kindle, there were two words that came to mind to describe Jett Fox. Two simple words to sum up this character’s power, charisma, drive and determination. Two words that even as I think of this book, Jett and London’s painful pasts and their triumphant future, I have to say the words with a smile and a sigh….

Absolute perfection.

This love story with so many twists and turns, heartbreaks, and a soul shaking connection did not fail to disappoint. It was the story that I had been waiting for, and it was well worth the wait. Some may say that it is a bit of a rehash of Owned. There is some mention of the events of the first book of Decadence After Dark, but this is all Jett and London.

London came to Mansion and to Jett broken, lost and hollow. Believing with all her heart that she was nothing and no one… an empty shell to be used for sex, pleasure and pain. But not her own. London’s story is so heartbreaking, so painful… breathing in her story destroyed my heart. All of this is true. Still her story is so hopeful because of Jett. From the moment he opened the door to Mansion and there stood London, Jett knew that his life would be hers. He knew that he would do anything and everything to heal her heart, know her mind and capture her soul. This beautiful robin would be his.

Even knowing he would have to share her body with others, including with his best friend. Even knowing that they both had secrets, some of them deadly, Jett was determined to have London. He had grown up with women. He knew how to hamdle them, how to touch them, how to mold them in his own image. He would use everything he had to have her. I sat back, amazed and captivated. This man so enraptured me with his dominance, his tenderness and his love for one who had never known it. But when London caught on fire and began to feel her own power, I cheered loudly and proudly for her.

This story is so very twisty and full of dark moments. Things popped up that I never saw coming. The chemistry between Jett and London… I swear my kindle was on fire. The romance between them is sigh worthy. An amazing secondary cast that make this book so much deeper and richer. The bonds between Jett and his girls made me envious. The loyalty Jett displays to Kayne goes far beyond the bonds of friendship. These two were brothers in every sense of the word.

Elicit is a collection of beautifully written words that evoked raw open feelings. It’s an angsty, gut clenching emotional roller coaster, and I personally am sorry that the ride has ended.

Absolute perfection, M. Very, very well done.
