The best things in life are unexpected. Sometimes when you least expect it, an author throws a curveball your way in a book that is utterly unexpected but totally brilliant. Kendall Ryan wrote her best rom-com yet, hitting a huge home run, knocking this book out of the park! The Fix Up casts a swoon-filled spell on you, claiming you, where you can’t help but submit to its power. The Fix Up by Kendall Ryan is a BOMB OF BOOK BLISS, one you won’t see coming, which penetrates every part of you: body, heart, and soul.

From the very first page, I was enraptured as I entered this spin-off of Hitched that quickly became my escape. I was lost to the outside world as I devoured this story with a fast force, not wanting to come up for air. The Fix Up was my fix, weaving me into a web of seduction, where I was glued to every wondrous word. I could not stop reading. I COULD NOT STOP THIS FIERCE FIX.

Before I met the blazing-hot Brit, Sterling, and Camryn, his beautiful friend-turned-publicist, the synopsis snared me like a lion lures its prey:

“The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I’m stuck between a rock and Sterling’s very hard place.”

I did not have to read The Fix Up to know I’d fall in insta-love because I already had. Who would not fall fast for a book about a British panty-melting playboy who must bait a bride and get her to marry him in six months? Like Sterling’s lust-laden British accent, THIS STORY IS A SURE THING.

“I grew up in England, and my British accent is like lube. It makes girls wet instantly.”

HOLY HOT. I’m IN!!! That lube of an accent belongs to Sterling Quinn, Noah Tate’s best friend who entertained and flamed readers in Hitched, who is back and better than ever!!! The Brit Playboy Prince must find his princess. Six months to put a ring on it or risk losing one hefty inheritance.

“Quickies in the men’s room of my office aren’t going to work anymore. I need to start thinking like…a husband.”

The beautiful and blonde Camryn Palmer, Olivia Tate’s best friend, is the PR goddess to help Sterling clean up his playboy image. The task of transforming the blazing-hot Brit from manwhore to marriage material won’t be an easy one, but Camryn is up to the challenge. The second challenge is to convince herself that she and Sterling are just friends, nothing more.

There is nothing better than a friends-to-lovers tale. Spellbinding, sweet, and smoldering, The Fix Up is a good old-fashioned love story with a modern twist and a hot Brit. I LOVED THE FIX UP! That moment when you’re reading a book and the world around you doesn’t exist anymore. Some stories…series…are shut-the-door, shut-off-the-world, do-not-bother me books, ones you know you’ll devour in one sitting. We lose ourselves in these brilliant books; we find ourselves too. I lost myself in Pucked Under by Helena Hunting and did not want to be found. This hockey story, like the series, was…is…my addiction…my ache…my ALL. I. CAN’T. GET. ENOUGH. I’ll never get enough.

Helena Hunting is one of my favorite writers and among my go-to authors FOR LIFE. Her words do so many things to me, melting me from the inside out. I love Helena’s writing so much I would put a ring on it if I could. I’ll just have to settle for dating her brilliant and blissful books, with Pucked Under the latest of crack in my Hunting expedition.

When I need a good laugh, the kind that makes me contemplate slapping on a Depends adult diaper due to the thorough laugh-to-bladder work-out, I’ll grab a Helena Hunting book. I’ll stalk these stories so hard that I could teach those wanna-be Hollywood stalkers outside celebrities’ homes a thing or ten. Once a story from Helena Hunting’s hot and hilarious Pucked series appears on my e-reader, I drop off of the earth or go missing for hours. I may be physically present, but my mind is stuck in a sensational sports series that is my delicious drug.

From the beginning to end, I WAS ALL IN. I was SPELLBOUND…SUNK…as I swiftly succumbed to Pucked Under that stole every piece of me. A big grin quickly formed, spreading across my face. I don’t know if I’ve ever loved a set of characters with charisma in spades—the perfect culmination of humor, heat and heart—as much as I do in this Pucked series. I was elated to be wrapped up in this witty and wonderful writing, a deep sea dive into Pucked Under, part of a hockey series that are not just stories but SO MUCH MORE.

There is no other series that makes me drunk girl giggle like Helena Hunting’s Pucked series and characters. Characters who not just make me laugh but make me LOVE…oh so hard. Characters with charisma in spades. Characters who have burrowed themselves in my heart where they will likely remain forever. Characters so raw and so real they feel like family; they are my family.

Ever since devouring Pucked Over with the hot bearded alpha, Randy ‘Balls’ Ballistic, and his now-girlfriend, the beautiful Lily Le Blanc, I’ve panted for more. Lily is a trip to the amusement park as she channel’s her inner Violet; both are spirit animals. I loved that Lily’s confidence has skyrocketed throughout this series and it’s due to her Balls or Randy worshipping her like the princess she is as she deserves his devotion.

Even after a year, Randy and Lily’s chemistry is still SMOKIN’ HOT and their relationship grows by leaps and bounds. My favorite Pucked heroine, the spitfire, Violet, sums up Randy and Lily’s chemistry perfectly, which has not waned and, if anything, has grown stronger.

“For the love of broken beavers, do you two ever take a break? Seriously. Is your vagina lined with leather? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if one day your vagina fell right off.”

I can’t help but roll in laughter with nearly every word that wanders out of Violet’s mouth. Her humor knows no bounds…and I love every funny-filled moment!

I loved that the spark that still shoots through Lily and Randy, that passion permeating throughout the pages.

“Randy may be right; he has the incredible ability to get me off with very little physical contact. He’s rather cocky about it…He can make me come just by rubbing up on me. Our chemistry is ridiculous.”

A bit cocky, fun, and blunt like Lily, Randy too is quite the fire cracker with lines laced in lust and laughter. Tall, muscular, bearded and gifted with a magic tongue, Randy is a woman’s wet dream and knight in shining armor rolled into one. I loved his dirty mouth…A LOT.

“You can tell me exactly what you liked best about my eating your pussy in the changing room and if there’s anything you’d want me to do differently next time.”

HOLY. HOT. Barely into the story and I am melting like molten lava. Holy mounds! I’m crowning Balls both King Clit and Magic Button Magician. From being a Chicago baller, Randy definitely knows his way around the Canadian beaver. Lily is one lucky recipient.

As dirty and delicious as Randy’s mouth is on Lily, what pours out of it made me melt in a sugary sweet way.

The softer Randy swathed me in sweetness. I SWOONED HARD. This man is a HOT hockey GOD with a huge HEART that’s unleashed even more in Pucked Under, and I FELL EVEN HARDER FOR RANDY…my Balls for life.

Hot, hilarious, and heartfelt, I thoroughly loved getting Pucked Under. I CRIED HAPPY TEARS. I CRIED SAPPY TEARS. I CRIED A FEW SAD TEARS. The feels flowed through the lust and laughter.

Deliciously dirty, fabulously flirty, laced with laughter, and filled with feels, Pucked Under fully satisfies while seducing the senses. A hot and hilarious hockey story with huge heart, Pucked Under is PURE PUCKING PERFECTION. These Pucked stories make my soul sing, my gut giggle, and my heart happy. In D.C., politics is served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Politics is everywhere! Growing up in the D.C. suburbs of Virginia, I could not help but live and breathe politics—whether I wanted to or not. Oh did I loathe the dishonest and dirty D.C. politics.

“Living in D.C. required the ability to see the strings attached to everything behind the scenes, the lies, and the manipulations.”

If showcased in a romance book, I can love and play politics night and day. Oh did I want to play with Bedmates, a politically-lit love story by Nichole Chase that made me want to parade into the White House wearing red, white, and blue. Intense and intoxicating, Bedmates is a politically-powered friends-to-lovers romance that harnesses the heart and sparks the soul.

From the very first page, I sank into this story, immersing myself where I quickly became intoxicated. I dove into Bedmates with a deep hunger and did not want to come up for air. I expected to detonate with desire. What I did not prepare for was for Bedmates to administer an assault on my heart where it was pounded into pieces. As a military wife, those pieces shattered even more, bleeding for broken heroes. Bedmates was what I expected yet it wasn’t; it was so much more.

Beautiful Maddie McGuire is the President’s daughter completing her last year in college with a strong passion for many issues including saving animals and the environment. It’s too bad that that passion seems to land her in trouble.

Maddie is now stuck doing community service for veterans, serving alongside the Vice President’s son, Jake Simmon.

“Jake hated me and I wasn’t exactly his biggest fan.”

Jake, the boy who is now all man, has swayed from friend to enemy territory during most of Maddie’s teenage years. I so wanted to hang out with Maddie…LOVED HER!

Working with her forever crush is one challenge that’s proving difficult for Maddie to ignore. Jake’s cockiness and playboy lifestyle gets under her skin, but Maddie sees the man beneath the mask.

“There was a darkness behind his eyes that made my heart ache, despite his pompous attitude.”

Jake won’t own his feelings towards the First Daughter, feelings he’s tried to bury for years. Even war in Afghanistan didn’t destroy that ache that surfaces for Maddie when she’s around. Oh does Jake want to scratch that Maddie ache.

“I wanted nothing more than to pull her into a dark corner, grip that perfect ass with both hands, and kiss her until she couldn’t think to tease me anymore.”

The all-alpha Jake is having a tough time reigning Maddie to his fantasies when he wants to ravish her in real life. Staying in the friend zone proves to be one race that Maddie and Jake may not beat.

Politics tends to be fake but everything about this political romance felt REAL. My emotions entangled in this romance were REAL. I could not help but feel every word I read in Bedmates, words that reached inside and hitched themselves to my heart, tugging it the whole way where my heart stayed stuck in this story that stole my soul too. My LOVE for Bedmates was so much more than its title…it was…is…REAL.

First Bedmates bewildered me, this story instantly becoming the unexpected. Then Bedmates blazed heat through me as the passion from the characters melted the pages…melting me. Finally, Bedmates broke me where my tears bled onto the pages. Heartbreaking tears. Hopeful tears. Happy tears. This military wife bled for these broken heroes too, one of whom is still hijacking my heart along with the bewildering and brilliant Bedmates.

All of the best love stories have one thing in common: You have to go against the odds to get there. Like the best love stories, books often go against the odds with the unexpected and exceed what we expected. Sweetest Taboo by J. Kenner EXCEEDED ALL OF MY EXPECTATIONS.

I did not expect to become so engrossed and entangled in this steamy suspense…but oh was I tangled and twisted in every part of this thrilling tale! I did not expect to fall in insta-love with these characters who captivated me and coerced me into their story, but oh did I fall for them so hard! I did not expect to love the S.I.N trilogy by J. Kenner as much as the Stark series that is one of my all-time favorites…but oh did the Stark series meet its match in the S.I.N spin-off.

I wanted to take my time, but all I could do was DIG IN, devouring this scintillating and suspenseful story fast and furiously. All I could do was succumb to the seduction of Sweetest Taboo as I rushed to read this riveting roller coaster of a romance where the world closed around me, opening up to all things SIN. I tore through this story as the adrenaline from this thrilling tale coursed through this Sweetest Taboo straight to me.

The twists and turns.

I knew that this thrilling yet tender tale would dig itself deep in my heart, sending my feelings flying into one tornado of a tailspin. Sultry. Sinful. Scorching. Sweet. Sensations traveled through me at lightning speed. I was not prepared for Sweetest Taboo to sink into my soul.

The first page packed a punch to the gut where I knew Fighting to Be Free would be a hard-fought tale, one perhaps where hell would happen before happiness. Instantly, I was cast into this story’s clutches…captivated…claimed. I knew this broken boy who was indeed fighting to be free would break me.

Review – Unstable by SE Hall

You can put up a front… but destiny already has your back.

From first glance, I believed this book was going to be a hot and heavy love triangle. I was ready for the angst of star crossed lovers, the agony of being separated from one’s truest love. This was truly unlike anything that I expected. This was the story of a young woman already in tremendous pain facing yet more pain as she returns to the one place that she ever planned to return to. She goes home to Ashfall to say goodbye to her beloved mother and to finally face her past. That past includes the boy on the farm next door who has grown into the man running that farm and wanting more from that girl than she’s ready to give.

Henley Gene Calvert was a twin. She, her sister Hadley and her mother were a team that survived through the hardest of times – only to be divided by a tragic loss. Henley left home and stayed away for eight years, severing her ties and trying to regain her sanity. But yet another death brings her back, only now she has to face not only her past but make decisions for the farm her mother has left her. Then we meet Gatlin. He’s been her mother’s farmhand and is determined to see Henley stand on her own and become the woman she was meant to be – strong, resilient, ready to be in control. They become friends… He becomes the one that she can depend on. But there’s someone else who wants to be her support too.

The more of this story I read, the more it snared me. Henley’s struggle to accept her losses, accept her pain and find forgiveness was so heartbreaking. So much anguish. So much hurt. Eight years of suffering alone… my soul hurt for her. The friendship she has with Gatlin is so strong and helps to build her confidence and her belief that she can survive. But it’s her relationship with Keaton that is so incredible. Watching their relationship turn so fully on its axis. The long simmering chemistry between them and the obvious fact that they have loved each other for so much longer than Henny Penny is willing to admit to.

Beautifully written. I found myself laughing so hard and then crying much harder. I was so sucked in and so invested in Henley, Gatlin and Keaton. I couldn’t help but care and hope for a joyful ending for all involved. Unstable is such a moving tribute to the power of forgiveness, finding a path to embrace the past and forging ahead to accept all the future holds – pains and all. Even the twists and turns that we never see coming.

Review – Sex Machine by Marie Force

I almost passed on Sex Machine. Almost. I didn’t have time for another arc. I was just too busy. But there was just something about this book that called to me. I just had a feeling that this book would be the one that would shake up the same old, same old. Marie has always written some amazing stories. And I must say that I have been so very fortunate to be a fan. She’s taken me to the families of Gansett Island… to the halls of Congress in the Fatals. I’ve been to Vermont with the Green Mountain series, even ventured into the naughtier side with Quantum. All have been amazing. But never and I mean, NEVER, have I enjoyed a Marie Force story more than Sex Machine. It is by far her BEST BOOK YET.

From the opening line, Marie lays down the gauntlet and lets the reader know this book is going to burn in the best way. Straight from Honey Carmichael’s mouth to Blake Dempsey’s ears: I want you to fuck me. It only gets steamier and sexier from there. Honey and Blake have known each other all their lives. They grew up together, went to school together… had the same circle of friends. Even suffered through the same tragic loss that took away Blake’s girlfriend, Jordan. She watched him suffer and blame himself. He turned into a shell of man, looking only for one night stands and nothing lasting. He garners a reputation for his impressive… skills. And after all this time and all the empty nights, Honey just wants to know if the rumors are true.

Blake feels empty, lost and guilty. It’s his fault that Jordan is gone. His focus must be his business. He has nothing to give anyone but a few fleeting moments of hot sex. He’s heard the rumors. He knows what everyone thinks – he’s nothing but a sex machine but he’s damn good at it. His friends worry and he knows that. But Honey is different. She’s the only one that can reach him. She’s the only one that he wants more time with, more everything with. She’s the only one that understand the pain of being alone.

They both have a past filled with loneliness, sadness… unspeakable loss and heartbreak. Watching these two build a love life was incredible. It was easy to do – they were always friends first. Yes, they have a red hot sex life. Blake certainly rocks Honey’s world…. he certainly left ME stunned. But this story goes so much further than what is going on between the sheets. This story is about forgiveness, letting go of a soul shattering trauma and finding the strength to begin again with someone who truly understands.

I cannot begin to say how very much I loved this book. I was drawn in from the very first page. The first 25% is so steamy, so breath taking. Unbelievably hot. This story shows Marie’s incredible versatility. This is no sweet romance. It deals with some heartbreaking issues with class and grace. This book is raw and demanding. I laughed as much as I swooned and rooted for Blake and Honey even when it looked like the past would never let them go. As I read the last lines, I was overjoyed with this awesomeness. It is a truly remarkable book and boy, am I glad that I didn’t pass on reading it.

Have you ever read a story that sinks itself into your soul from the start? Have you met a story that should be a soap opera because it’s that addicting—where you are so transfixed that you don’t want to stop turning the pages? Silver by K.A. Linde stole every piece of me in one incredible and intoxicating date of delicious drama. Silver struck me like lightning—hard and fast—where I was glued to this gem from its brilliant beginning to enticing end.

I only had to read a few pages before I knew that Silver was my new favorite story in this series, replacing Diamonds. Gasp!!! I know, right?!? Silver is my top gem in the All That Glitters saga. TOP GEM. I’ll give you THREE WORDS as to why Silver is the best book in this series for me: SECOND-CHANCE ROMANCE. Second-chance romances are my go-to gems and Silver by K.A. Linde is my new kryptonite.

A second-chance is so many things: a chance to start fresh, a chance to right those wrongs, a chance to find happiness, and, perhaps, a last chance. I walked into this story not a Stacia fan at all. The jersey-chasing gold digger seemed so shallow with not much under the surface. This young woman slept through her way of quarterbacks; a ball bunny. I deemed Stacia weak with her sole ambition of being an NFL quarterback’s wife though she was going to college to obtain her own degree.

Then K.A. wove her magic, morphing characters like Stacia that you can’t stand into ones that you can’t help but love. I WAS WON OVER FAST AND FURIOUSLY. K.A. Linde proved me wrong in thinking that Stacia was just smoke and mirrors; this captivating character captured my heart at less than five percent into Silver. Stacia soared into the spot of my favorite female of K.A. Linde’s in this sparkling series. I liked—no LOVED—this new Stacia.

Silver also spun me around by making me FALL IN LOVE TWICE. Pace Larson, Stacia’s previous love, is now her annoyance. With his golden hair and blue eyes, and tall and muscular build that makes women forget their own names, Pace is panty-melting HOT. He is also still hot for Stacia. I LIKED PACE BEFORE; I LOVED HIM NOW.

Pace is sick of playing the field…sick of playing games. Pace throws Stacia off her game, making her question her ill feelings towards him. Her attraction to this devastatingly beautiful man has never vanished. It’s time to finally claim the woman of his dreams, catch her and make her fall. Oh is Stacia starting to fall under Pace’s persuasive spell.

“God, is everything a joke to you?”

My heart broke yet danced at the same time. Pace has toyed with Stacia’s emotions like a back-and-forth ball game. Can the heart, once broken, trust again?

There are not many stories and series where you see the characters evolve from ones you can’t stand to ones you can’t help but love. K.A. I came into Silver as anti-Stacy and slightly anti-Pace, but left loving these compelling and captivating characters like never before. I could not help but root for both of them to rekindle that passion where it would permeate to love.

I was drunk on this second-chance romance that sizzled with sweetness and swoon yet bled angst. Silver shone bright and flared in feels. My heart was hit with a hybrid of happiness and hurt. My soul soared and swooned. I lost myself in Silver as this spellbinding story grabbed me, wrapping itself around my heart, where I did not want to surface until the very end.

Silver is not just a story filled with swoon, sex, and shame. It’s so much MORE. Silver is about second chances—changing your life and being your best self. Silver is a story of heartbreak and healing—with highs and lows—where my feels flung like a football down the field, and I FELL IN INSTA-LOVE.

This gem glitters in greatness. Achingly addicting like a soap opera, I left this super star of a story wanting more…needing more. Silver struck me hard and fast, and I knew from the start that it the cheapest gem in price would be the greatest one in value.

Review – Sugar Daddies by Jade West

This book – this story. Jade West has written the most incredible, most emotional love story. I have never read a MMF story and while I have many of her books on my kindle, this is my first read of Jade’s. On either count, it certainly will not be my last. Jade has weaved a story that is sensual, so so sexy but sweet and off the charts romantic. Even now after having read Sugar Daddies a few months ago, I am at a loss on how to put into words how this story moved me and opened me up to see how a relationship like the one Carl, Rick and Katie can be oh so wonderful.

Rick and Carl are very happy together. They have an amazing relationship but are missing the final piece of their family – the one girl that fill the empty hole in their lives. They have been looking for so long and they finally believe that in Katie they have found their missing link. Katie has other plans when she completes the ad the couple have placed looking the right girl. She wants the money the guys are offering to complete her own dreams. It was just sex after all – with lots of stipulations. But still sex. Some of the most incredible earth shattering, soul shaking sex of her life.

Then things change. The relationship between these three change and soon the three find themselves in something that they never expected. Something that can last. Something that fill all the empty places in their lives. They have everything in their grasp – everything is falling into place. Not only do they have an amazing sex life, they have a wonderful love life that they all come to crave and embrace. Then the twists and turns. The emotional roller coaster ride. The sad history that comes to light. Truly some of the best story that I have read in a long time.

This was stunning! After I finished, I wished for more story and longed for another glimpse into Carl, Rick and Katie’s life. This was beautifully written. Screaming hot! Heart warming and hangover inducing. An awesome introduction to Jade West and her brand of naughty! Very well done, Jade!

A sugar daddy website doesn’t seem a sound basis for an A1 life plan, but I’m a small town girl with big dreams, and there’s this one advert, this one crazy advert I can’t stop thinking about…

Review – Call Me by Gillian Jones

Holy mother Hubbard in her cupboard. I just finished Call Me by Gillian Jones and it was SENSATIONAL. Without doubt one of the best student/teacher books I’ve read. Everything about this book is PERFECTION! From the likeable characters, to the all consuming connection that SIZZLES through this book, to the kick ass storyline that is written brilliantly. Call Me is a TOP, TOP September read for me.

I absolutely loved everything about this book so I honestly don’t know where to start with my review. I probably could talk about it all day and not get bored, Gillian lit up this book with so many good points that electrified this bookworm all the way through.

Call Me is seriously sexy, SUPER DUPER HOT! Ellie our lead female, who, may I add is absolutely amazing, works as a sex line call worker. Gillian played out Ellie’s role perfectly throughout this whole book, the initial uncertainty was written so well that I felt exactly like Ellie did. But Ellie’s development into her role was what I loved most and the calls were some of the hottest moments of the book. But here is where I must discuss Ace! Firstly, why didn’t I have a teacher like him to ogle at, at school? Everything about Ace is HOT! The initial description we get will give you the best visuals, his POV will make you fall deep in love with him and the sexy parts will leave you breathless, the man is pure, seductive SIN. The connection written between Ellie and Ace is electrifying, you feel it grow and burn with each and every chapter, add in the alter ego phone calls and WOW! Seriously a gym has never sounded so appealing!

What is also great about Call Me though is the underlying message Gillian writes in. All of Gillian’s books have touched on real issues that aren’t always talked about on a wide scale. While Ellie’s job a times in Call Me appears quite fun, Gillian manages to balance the good and bad throughout, keeping things real.

As I said Call Me is now one of my fave student teacher books. It’s light, it’s fun, it’s ridiculously hot and super sexy. There is no big drama but do you know what? It didn’t need it, Call Me is captivating and a huge 5 star read for me!
