It’s a little combative, a lot combustible, and completely captivating. It was my GUILTY PLEASURE.

With its witty writing, addicting angst, smoldering heat, and sweet-as-pie swoon, I Flipping Love You is the PERFECT FEEL-GOOD ROMANCE. Simply SPELLBINDING! I needed a fire extinguisher, a fan, and the most freezing ice to put out the flames. This MELT-WORTHY love story had me practically shoving this charmingly stubborn hero and heroine together. I don’t do dystopian books. The last dystopian series I read was Divergent in 2012-2014. I don’t do dystopian. Futuristic world settings and characters aren’t my thing. I don’t do dystopian or didn’t much … until now. Until Tarryn Fisher and Willow Aster knocked me off my axis into the delicious dystopian world of FOLSOM.

With YEARS since my last dystopian, I had no idea what to expect with this unconventional romance. Nothing. So I went in with an open mind. I picked up Folsom, challenging myself, stepping so far from my story comfort zone that I wondered who I was, and dove into this oh-so-different-for-me book. Different is an understatement. Folsom is DARINGLY DIFFERENT. It’s unlike anything I’ve read before and so unique that it’s in its own UNIQUE UNIVERSE.Folsom is so different that I were to describe much, I’d ruin it for readers.

This is the way it should be. Men allowed to hunt.

Once I started Folsom, I didn’t want to … I wouldn’t … couldn’t stop reading. I couldn’t help but notice that this story authored by two authors was meticulously made. This author duo of Fisher and Asters write so seamlessly together as one solid voice, so seamless that you’ll be hard-pressed to tell where one starts and the other stops. I couldn’t put down this DELICIOUS DYSTOPIAN DELIGHT that became my far-out realm and reality. Its powerful and passionate plot of a female-dominate world with male pollinators DOMINATED ME. The strong and smoldering hero and heroine melted together and made me fall in love with them fast. This raw and riveting romance set in another world suddenly became my world.

The moment I saw her, I knew. A feeling, a draw, the smallest spark of kindling.

Thrilling, tender, and thought-provoking, Folsom takes you so far to the edge that you’ll be powerless to stop the fall of feels. This BOUNDARY-BREAKING BOOK beguiled me the whole time reading! Bold, beautiful, and blisteringly smart, Folsom is UTTERLY UNFORGETTABLE. I FELT this Folsom fantasy world as it were my reality. Folsom UNEQUIVOCALLY OWNED every ounce of me. Every thought. Told through the perspective of a teenage hero and heroine, All the Little Lights takes a deep dive into family dynamics and darkness, uncovering secrets and setting the truth free. It is young love at its best and all of the challenges that come with two teenagers growing together as one. As Catherine and Elliotts’ journey unfolded, complex and captivating layer by layer, its words wrapping around me tightly like me a bear hug, I became BESOTTED. This hero and heroines’ tale of young love—fierce, foreboding, and full of complications—stole my heart and became a part of me that I couldn’t and didn’t want to let go.

Review – Fighting For Everything by Laura Kaye

Once again Laura gives us a book that is way more emotionally in depth than you expect. I absolutely love her ability to truly give you a real glimpse into the life of soldiers coming home with PTSD. She absolutely nailed it!

I love my characters flawed, and Noah fit that description perfectly. After losing half his hearing and vision, Noah is not the same man he used to be. He wants to be left alone, so when his bedtime friend since childhood, Kristin, shows up he knows he can’t taint her with his demons. Problem is his body and heart are warring each other for what they want.

Kristin just wants to be there for Noah just like always. She isn’t prepared for his hot/cold mood swings but is determined to stick it out because that’s what vest friends fo do.

The chemistry between these two builds and builds until it turns into a powder keg that explodes. When Noah discovered the fight club, he finds a way to release all that pent up hurt and emotion.

This is truly a fantastic read. I love Laura and her accuracy of describing what veterans go through once they come back from combat.

He’s there? Tiffany mouthed to Cam, who lifted his brows in acknowledgment and sipped his water.

Tiffany’s pulse, which had calmed down, kicked up again.

“Thanks for doing that,” Tiffany said. “And sorry again for being such a klutz.”

“Yeah, well, at least you’re a pretty klutz.” He held her eyes for a heartbeat, then looked away, almost as if he’d startled himself with his own bravado.

As if sensing the need for intervention, Mina asked Eric what he was doing later. Spring Break officially started the next day. “You don’t usually have a day off after a shift, do you?”

“Nope,” Eric said. “But I also usually work until closing. I’m only on the clock for five hours tonight. Off at nine. Reece said he’d come in and cover for me.”

“Hot date?” Cam asked, and Tiffany kicked him under the table.

“Not exactly. Pretty much everyone in my apartment complex either goes to UT or recently graduated. So there’s a party tonight in the courtyard. Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots

8 ounces sour cream

1 tablespoon ranch seasoning

1 pound sliced bacon

1 (32 ounce) bag frozen tater tots

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix together the sour cream and ranch seasoning and set aside. Cut bacon slices into thirds and wrap around each tot. Place on a cookie sheet (with sides). Bake for 20 minutes, remove from oven and place on a serving platter. Place the sour cream mixture in a resealable bag and cut one corner off. Pipe over tots and enjoy!

Blissville is a series I never want to end. Aimee just sucks you into the book, making you feel like you’re right there in Blissville with the whole gang. I absolutely loved everything about this story. That’s nothing new. Aimee can write no wrong! The history between Andy and Milo is heartbreaking. The way things went down between them 12 years prior was awful on both accounts. They both turned to their own vices to cope, Andy’s just happened to be way more destructive. Watching him get himself back on track and stay there made my heart flutter. I was so proud of him and his dedication to be his best.

Milo was so angry at what went down 12 years ago. Andy never really knew what prompted that breakup over text, but when he steps into Milo’s coffee shop with determination, he will soon find out. Watching these two navigate the rough waters and find themselves back where they belong was so beautifully eloquent! I could not ask for more. When Andy reached the top of the steps, he found a light switch on the wall. Only one socket had a bulb in it, so it wasn’t bright enough for Andy to see anything besides trunks and trunks of stuff stacked everywhere.

I turned my head slightly to the left and saw the outline of a woman’s silhouette out of the corner of my eyes. “Ghost!” I yelled, then dove behind Andy.

“Where?” Andy asked, turning in circles and swinging his flashlight to illuminate every corner of the dark, dusty space. “That?” he asked.

I peeked around his broad back and ducked my head under his armpit to see. In the center of the flashlight beam was one of those old-fashioned wire mannequins they used to hang dresses on. In fact, the mannequin sported a flowing, white dress that looked like something a woman wore in the eighteen hundreds. Of course, the white color of the gown in contrast to the dark space gave it a ghostly appearance.

“Seriously, Milo? I nearly pissed myself over a mannequin.”

“You almost jizzed yourself earlier.”

“Don’t pretend I didn’t feel your hard-on pressing up against mine, Milo.”

“True, but that wasn’t what I was referring to.”

“Then what the fuck are you talking about?” Andy asked, sounding angry all over again.

“Simon!”

“You want to talk about Simon, Milo? We’ll talk about Simon.”

“Fine, I’m going first. Since when does your uncle want to fix you up with your cousin? What kind of fuckery is this?”

“Paul isn’t my biological uncle,” Andy said. “He and my dad are best friends. Uncle was an honorary title I gave him when I was a kid.”

“Oh.” Yeah, that took the wind right out of my sails. “Are you going to take Simon on a date?”

“Should I, Milo? Is he good in bed?”

I gasped dramatically, of course. “Are you slut shaming me?”

“Are you acting slutty?”

“And if I was?” I demanded to know.

Silence. “You make me fucking crazy, Milo.”

“That makes two of us.” I realized what I said. “Wait. I meant that you make me crazy too. So crazy that I can’t even think. You rob me of my ability to snark.”

“You act as if that’s a talent,” Andy scoffed.

I am a wife and mother to three kids, three dogs, and a cat. When I’m not dreaming up stories, I like to lose myself in a good book, cook or bake. I’m a girly tomboy who paints her fingernails while watching sports and yelling at the referees. I will always choose the book over the movie. I believe in happily-ever- after. Review – Fortuity by Rochelle Paige

I have heard amazing things about Rochelle Paige and her great stories. I have never had the pleasure of reading her. I could not have picked a better introduction to Rochelle than this book. It truly blew me away. Faith and Dillon’s love story is beautiful, emotional and it seems that these two were fated to be together, to heal each other and to find the happiness that had eluded them both for quite some time.

I’ve read a lot of strong women characters. Their stories have ranged from as fantastic as healthy relationships to the worst possible abuse. Faith’s story as a young child in the foster care system slayed by heart and battered my soul from the moment I met her. Neglect at the hands of her mother and a foster family, Faith finds herself at death’s door but is given a second chance when she receives a transplant. Grabbing her life with both hands she taps into her inner strength and makes her life count. She left me so stunned and so grateful for my own well being. I rooted for her and demanded her happiness with every word that I read.

Dillon has had his own losses and engages in very high risk behaviors to cope. When his mother and father rescue him once again, the deal made brings a former foster kid into his life and changes his life in ways that he could not imagine. Thanks to Faith, Dillon begins to understand how precious life is and how the things he has taken for granted can change everyday life for Faith. The bond and the chemistry between these two was incredible. This time and experience he has had with her is simply eye opening. Not only for him but for me as well.

The ending of this book floored me! I sat and shook my head in disbelief and I am so anxiously awaiting Serenity to hit my kindle so I can finally see how the love story between Faith and Dillon ends. This duet is set to be one of my favorites this year! Rochelle Paige is so wonderfully talented. Her words are incredible and I’m just sorry that it has taken me this long to discover her. But since I have messaged her a million times while reading Fortuity, she’s got to realize she has a new fan in me!

The other kids nodded in agreement, and I snuck a peek at Dillon while everyone finished packing up. His brown eyes were wide with shock. I quickly looked away before he could ask me anything, and focused on saying my goodbyes as the kids all headed out. We both kept quiet—for which I was incredibly grateful—as Dillon helped me clean up the room. When we were back on the road, I turned to him and asked, “Were you really teaching my kids how to count cards?”

His lips tilted up at the edges. “Maybe just a little.”

“It’s a good thing none of them have any money to gamble or else they might learn to enjoy blackjack as much as you do.” His lip tilt turned into a full-fledged grin, and I glared at him. “I don’t know why you’re grinning at me! Look at what your affinity for gambling got you.”

“What?” He pointed at his face. “The black eye?”

“Yeah, for starters.”

His grin grew into a blinding smile. “It was worth it.”

“What? Why?”

“Because it’s the reason I met you.”

Shit. Those damn butterflies took flight in my stomach again.

Holy fucking hell! How the hell am I supposed to alter this review to be amazon acceptable? Meghan I’m convinced you’re some type of voodoo queen that can spin any kind of tale and do it like a mother fucking boss! Sorry fir the f bombs. Can’t be helped!

What I just read, I can’t can’t even put into words. It transcends everything I thought this book would be. I have no doubt whenever I open a Meghan March book, that I NEVER know what is coming my way. You are the queen of cliffhangers. Absolutely NO ONE can write a cliffhanger that leaves your heart in your throat thinking what the fuck just happened. Holy shit. Stick a fork in me. I’m done. Off to a book coma.

Review – When Stars Burn Out by Carrie Aarons

With each and every book that she writes, Carrie Aarons just astounds me. Her talent is growing by leaps and bounds and her ability to make me want to climb inside her worlds and simply just be and never leave shows just how she has become one of my favorite authors. When Stars Burn Out is one magnificent second chance love story.

We all do things in college that we regret. We go to the wrong parties. We hang with the wrong people. We lust after people who are so very bad for us. We get our hearts broken. We trash our reputations. And then college ends and we have to go forward, strive to be the people we are meant to be. Learn from the past and endeavor never to be who we were before. All of that sums up Paxton Shaw and Demi Rosen.

He was the all star football player headed to an amazing NFL career. She was the girl pulled into his world but he only wanted her when he wanted her. To say he was a user and a complete jerk (I would use a much stronger word) is an understatment. But to Demi he was everything. When he called, she came running and the harder she tried to bring him closer the more he pushed to stay away. Until one day he left without a word, ignored the texts and became the NFL’s hottest and most beloved player. Fast forward eight years and Demi Rosen has reinvented herself. She has become a very successful businesswoman. Her specialty? Granting the wishes of severely ill children and low and behold, one very special boy with one very special wish brings Pax and Demi back together again. Only this time, Pax knows he has everything to lose if he messes up his second chance to get the girl.

This story was so real for me. College was eye opening and as a twenty something, you live in your own head and in your own bubble never really thinking that want you say and do will change someone for good or for bad. Pax changed Demi. He broke not only her heart, he hardened it. He had work to do to get through Demi’s defenses. Their story captured my heart, enthralled me and made me root for their happy ending. I didn’t want to like Pax. He was the typical big headed jock that believed the world revolved around him, but wow… what a man he became once he got out of his own way. Demi is one of the strongest characters I have ever read. She knows her flaws. She recognizes her mistakes. She owns her life and her decisions. Through all of that she loves Pax. There’s no denying that.

Beautifully written and ridiculously romantic. Emotional, honest -sometimes brutally so – and just a love story that I wanted to read again as soon as I was done. I laughed and I cried, too. This is a story of redemption, forgiveness and finding your own special star. Well done, Carrie. Your star certainly shines in this tale.
