When you pick up a book from a new author, you never know what you’re gonna get. Alexis completely sucked me in like a vortex weaving a spell around my heart. To say I was extremely satisfied is an understatement. There was no unnecessary words just to fill in a period of time over months. That makes it so much more appealing.
Lily has so much negativity in her life and is in need of a retreat where she can be someone else for once. Her best friend keeps pushing her to hook up with someone especially the sexy cowboys that is eyeing her up while she discretely eyes him up. Not letting her chicken out, her friend puts the plan in motion and sends that sexy cowboy her way.
Colt has literally been forced to go on this vacation by his sister who knows he desperately needs a break. Colt isn’t Happy to be there but when he gets pushed towards Lily, he just can’t understand how this woman has taken all his worries away.
Unfortunately, their rendezvous can’t last forever. The two make plans to meet the same time next year, but fate has something else in store. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series, and this author has made it on my mist read radar!

Fast forward to my new movie set and the handsome property owner. Yep, same guy. Same sexy, sexy guy. Our chemistry is still off the charts but there’s one tiny problem: he doesn’t trust me.

Okay, so I skipped a few important details. I don’t blame the guy. But they were just little white lies. Unfortunately if I want that movie-perfect ending I’m going to have to set the record straight…and hopefully have a little fun in the process.

Review – The Perfect Bastard by LK Collins

This story was not at all what I expected it to be. Single dads are the current “thing”, the latest hot fad that seems to be popping up everywhere. Roan Reddick could be like any other man trying to do the right thing by his family while also trying to do his sexy thing on the side and keep it hidden. But I was wrong. This single dad was so much more. This man is unlike any hero that LK has ever written. This story has a different feel than anything LK has offered and is a wonderful show of her talent and versatility.

Roan is a broken man but hiding it as well as he can. He’s tempermental and hardworking. A brilliant engineer and shrewd businessman. He’s determined to give his two girls everything but knows that he can’t give them the most important thing – their mother. That doesn’t stop him though, but one night he takes something for himself. One night he takes Mia Cavalano, his best friend’s little sister, and finds solace for himself. It was wrong and he knows it. Still that one moment of indulgence changes his life and Mia’s. So much so that Mia opts to leave Boston, Roan and her broken heart behind to go to college and start over.

But Mia can’t pass up an opportunity to return home when her job transfers her there. She goes back knowing that Roan and those memories of their night together await her. But there’s no way to hide what’s between these two. It’s smoldering and steaming right at the surface. They want to deny what they feel and fight a second chance at love. So many worries and insecurities – the girls’ abandonment by their mother, the fear that Chandler will not accept his sister and best friend together, the guilt that Roan feels.

I loved Roan! He’s sexy and strong, but he’s flawed and bitter. He’s dark and just so heartbroken. He’s loved and lost. He’s tired of fighting but is scared to trust what he feels for Mia. The one thing that is sure in his life are his daughters and his absolute devotion to them. Mia is fierce, feisty and absolutely perfect for Roan. She’s accepting of his flaws and understands just how much the past has hurt this man that she has known and loved most of her life.

The Perfect Bastard is one incredible second chance love story. Angsty, full of sexy moments and undeniable chemistry. The ultimate story – the real love story in my opinion – is the love that Roan has for his girls. The ups and downs that he faces with them… the defiance, tears and feelings of failure. The past is never far behind with this family. But leave it to Mia to act as a bond between Roan and his girls even when she has to face her own doubts.

Beautifully done! A story of true love and more importantly, the amazing truth that the love of family can heal broken hearts. Great job, LK!

I’m FLYING…FLOATING on Cloud Nine and I can’t stop!!! Royally Endowed by Emma Chase injected me with some serious SWOON SERUM where I still feel a HEADY HIGH! Royally Endowed is DAZZLING, DREAMY and oh so DIVINE. This fairytale felt like I was experiencing a dream. My face was etched with a dreamy look. This story shot STARS IN MY EYES!!! I still can’t stop SMILING and SWOONING!

In the first few pages, Emma Chase made me feel the plight of a lovesick and broken man. I broke from this broken man. My heart hurt as I felt his sting of rejection sting me.

What I feel for her is the one thing in my life that makes sense. That matters. But I never told her that.

His chest seems to rise just a little faster, and his throat ripples when he swallows. He bends his head, curves his strong back, and then I feel his hands on my ankle, securing the strap. Another 5 star read from Rebecca Zanetti. I absolutely have loved this series. This one went out with a bang. This is a pure page turner. A must read. While it could be read without reading the previous books, it would definitely help you with the plot.

Bear and Nessa have this undeniable chemistry but Bear does not trust her motives. Nessa tells half truths so that Bear doesn’t catch what she’s really up to.

So much action, passion, and intensity that you won’t be able to put down. I’m excited for the next series.

As she hunts for a drug lord killing her fellow witches, all Tessa Lansa’s instincts point to the Grizzly motorcycle club. That might be because their leader, Bear, is the strong, silent shifter type: warm brown eyes and more muscle and alpha male than any woman can ignore. Somebody was in his cabin. Beauregard McDunphy lumbered around the side of the modest wood structure, his fur rippling in the wind, his big paws leaving tracks in the wet dirt. At one point, not too long ago, he’d been bigger than any bear in the area—shifter or animal. Now he was merely normal size. Yet he could still take a human trespasser without much effort. He lifted his snout, and the fur rose down his broad back.

He was a loner, and he liked his privacy, so anybody who even remotely knew him understood to stay the hell out of his space. What was that smell?

Irish roses and something . . . female. The scent of woman. He growled, the sound hollow.

Who the hell was in his cabin? He stalked toward the front door, which remained open. Oh, he was going to scare this interloper. He sucked in air to snarl, rolling his neck so he could fully flash his canines.

A woman came into view, turning around, skirt rustling. “There you are.”

He paused and studied her. Thick black hair piled on her head, violet-blue eyes, smooth features. Delicate. Something stirred inside him, and he shook his head, trying to focus. Why wasn’t she scream- ing? Most people freaked out when faced with a grizzly bear. Wait a minute. He knew her. Didn’t he know her?

She pressed her hands to her hips. Her green houndstooth de- signer suit looked like something out of the fifties. Somehow, it worked on her. “Do you mind shifting back to human form? We need ta talk.”

The brogue. Irish brogue. Pretty eyes. Small stature. Sparks of power all around her.

It hit him then. A witch. There was a witch in his home. He growled again and set his bones to transforming into his human shape. The process took longer than it should have, considering he’d mainly been in bear form for nearly three months. Three useless months that hadn’t changed a damn thing about his failing health.

Pain lanced down his spine and through his arms. His bones broke and reformed, hurting much more than they should. The fur receded on his arms and then the rest of his body. Agony flared through his face, reshaping it, nearly making him black out. Finally, he straight- ened, his body elongating. He kept his expression stoic and tried to banish the ache.

“That looked painful,” she whispered, her gaze soft on his face. “It was,” he responded before he could think. Then reality crashed

back. “Why is there a Coven Nine witch in my fucking cabin?” His safe cabin in the Seattle wilderness where witches and the Coven Nine couldn’t get to him. What was her name? He couldn’t place it. Everything was cloudy. Yet he remembered seeing her in Ireland at witch headquarters—she was a council member. When was that? Months ago.

She hummed and looked around, her gaze high and a light pink dusting her cheekbones.

He settled his stance. His human brain kicked back in. “As a member of the Coven Nine, what are you doing here?” She was on the ruling council of witches, and she should have security all around her. His back stiffened, and he turned to scan for threats.

“I’m alone,” she said.

That was impossible. Yet even with his senses returning, he couldn’t find any other people near, much less any witches. “Why?” he barked. His voice was rough and hoarse from disuse.

She blew out air, her pretty lips pursing. Her gaze rose nearly to the rough wooden ceiling. If she craned her neck up any more, she might fall backward.

Bear frowned. “What the hell?”

She cleared her throat. “Do you, ah, do you mind?” Her hand swept out, even the small movement graceful.

“Mind what?” he snapped, glancing over his shoulder again. Trees

and silence met his gaze. Thunder ripped above, and an angry autumn rain began to slap the ground. Summer had given up the fight, and the oncoming winter scented the breeze. He stepped inside the cabin.

She backed up so quickly her butt hit the ancient stove, and she gave a startled eep. “Please, Mr. McDunphy.”

What in the world was wrong with the woman? “Please, what?” Was this some kind of trap?

“Put some clothes on,” she said through pearly-white teeth.

He started and looked down at his naked body. “Oh.” Clothes were such a damn annoyance. “Uh, okay.” A small dresser sat by the bed, on the north wall. He moved past the raggedy sofa and modest fireplace to yank out a pair of faded jeans. He struggled into them, wincing as he engaged the zipper.

Life was so much easier as a bear.

Review – Barrel Proof by Layla Reyne

This series just keeps getting better and better. It’s so hard to believe this was the first series written by Layla. I fell, and I fell hard for her writing. This has definitely been one of my favorite MM series. You do need to read the first two books before reading this as it is a continuation through each book.
Now on to the story. I’m not writing any details from the story because everyone deserves to experience the ups and downs that Irish and Whiskey go through.
This book is action packed throughout. We get to see more of Mel and Danny. Overall, this series is a must read.

FBI agents Aidan “Irish” Talley and Jameson “Whiskey” Walker can’t get a moment’s peace. Their hunt for the terrorist Renaud seems to be nearing an end, until a fire allows him to slip through their fingers—and puts Jamie’s life in danger. But in his sickness he finds friendship with Tono and love – with Mary. But mary has her own demons and those demons destroy what she and Faelan have. So once again Todd finds himself alone. But not as lost. Thanks to Rytsar, Faelan has a purpose. Brie is in danger and he must protect her at all costs.

As I read Faelan’s story, I was amazed at his transformation. His strength and courage. He went from the stalker that I hated to the Dom that I respected. His care for Brie in a time when she needed him as a protector warmed me. He embraced his responsibility with humility, stubborness and determination. Todd is so multi-layered, complex and compelling. On the one hand, he is in total command when he dominates. He has a presence that cannot be denied. He certainly had me squirming in my seat! Still, on the other hand he’s still the teenage boy that can’t move past the accident that took the life of another boy who never had a chance to live to his full potential. It’s a mistake that he simply cannot move from.

Todd has his own potential and his own life to live fully with love, friendships and family. He shows all of that here. Clearly his story is just beginning. There is so much more to come from this amazing man.

Amazing story! It simply stunned me. Seeing the family bond between the members of The Submissive Center was heartwarming and thrilling. These doms are faithful and true to their own. The ending blew me away and now? Now we wait. The best is coming. Fantastic!

Graceley Knox has once again blown us away with this faery mystical world. The level of talent and the way you are drawn into the story leaves you wanting so much more. This series is going down as the best Fae series ever.
We get to see more of the plot unfold with plenty of twists and turns. You may think you know what’s coming, then boom…you never saw that coming.
Let me tell you, this is the first book I read with goblins and I never knew they could be so hot.

The steam picks up between Ever and Dare. I can’t be more excited for book 3.

My review is 5 out of 5 stars.

This may be my favorite Felice Steven’s book yet. It was so emotionally charged and sucked you in with no way out. I also listened to the audio version and it was perfect. The narrator was incredible. He really made you feel the emotions the characters went through.

Without giving away details, the main characters in this book both had extremely rough lives in the past. To watch them overcome together was heart melting. In other words, read or listen to this book!!

“We have a board meeting next week to decide if we want to accept sponsorships or not. I’m all for getting companies to donate as much as they want.”

Pushing his artichoke around the plate, Jordan chewed his bottom lip in thought. “I understand, but I don’t want this to become something they crow about and take credit for. It isn’t about them or us. It’s about what Keith wanted and helping the kids of the community so they have a safe place to come to every day if they choose. We have to make them want to come. So for sure we’ll try and get the computer companies to donate their computers and the libraries to donate children’s books. But this is always going to be The Keith Hart Center for Youth. Not XYZ Corp Center. I’m doing this to help Keith’s dream become a reality.”

Noting Lucas’s silence, Jordan quirked a brow. “Did I surprise you? You’re awfully quiet.”

The chatter from the cavernous dining room filled the silence, while he awaited Lucas’s response.

“I agree. For the record, I never intended to acknowledge the corporate sponsors any more than having maybe a plaque in, say the computer area, stating, Computers Generously Donated by…whomever we choose. As you put it so very well, it isn’t about them.” Once again, he flashed that charming grin that lit up his normally austere face.

A tug of desire hit Jordan low in his belly and the breadstick crumbled in his hand. For almost a year he’d barely thought about sex. In the cold hours of the dark, he’d awaken from dreams where he’d been making love with Keith, and his body’s natural urge had led him to finish off with his hand. But not until this moment had he felt a pull toward another man. Disturbed, Jordan studied Lucas from beneath lowered lashes, pretending to concentrate on his food.

For God’s sake, what was he even thinking? Shaking his head, angry with himself for having those traitorous urges, Jordan drank down half his sparkling water, his hands shaking so badly he feared Lucas might comment. Lucky for him, the waiter approached to take away their dishes, engaging Lucas in conversation so he saw nothing.

Lucas wasn’t even his type. Jordan ran a critical gaze over the enigmatic man sitting across from him. Sure, he had the broad, muscular build similar to Keith but personality-wise, the two men were nothing alike. Keith’s friendly, joyful personality drew people to him; they couldn’t help but want to be his friend. Totally unlike the quietly serious Lucas Conover whose lone-wolf persona and hands-off attitude screamed, Don’t ask, don’t touch. Jordan excused this inexplicable physical reaction as his first time in months being in close proximity to a man.

“You okay, Jordan? You looked kind of sick for a moment.”

As far as he knew, there wasn’t yet a cure for being heartsick and heartbroken.

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. While life is tough, she believes there is a happy ending for everyone. She started reading traditional historical romances as a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until she picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that her interest in romance novels was renewed.
