Wow that short book packed one hell of a punch. I also admit I haven’t read any of the Titan books but still absolutely loved this book. Its like a full length novel packed into 100 pages. I even read the last chapter with blurry vision from the happy tears. Steamy, action packed goodness is what you will find. I especially recommend for those of you that want a follow up on your favorite couples from the Titan series. I also reviewed the audio version and it was spectacular. You are really able to feel sucked into the story. Great job as always Cristin.

Before I began this story, I had to say…Gasp! My name is Karen and I’ve never met the Filthy Beautiful Lies series by Kendall Ryan. Let’s put it this way: I’ve only met Kendall’s rom-coms so I really had no idea to expect from this other delicious side of Kendall.

I dove into Dirty Little Secret, a story about as far away from a rom-com as you could get, and relished my dive into dark territory. I closed out my world and opened up the Dirty Little Secret world where I quickly fell captive to words that made me their prisoner from the first page.

My first thought after inhaling the Prologue:

WHOA!!! Is this the same author who writes those fun and flirty romances?!? I like the dark and dirtier writer Kendall even better. Dark and dirty romance writing fits Kendall Ryan like a glove: oh so perfectly.

From the first page, Dirty Little Secret is a RUSH, a fervor of smolder and smoothness that strikes hard. Pulse-pounding, breath-bating, mind-mesmerizing, heart-hitting, and soul-searing, this STORY STOLE EVERY SENSE and SEDUCED EVERY OUNCE OF ME. Wow!! Tara just wowed me with this forbidden office romance. The heat sizzled my kindle and the back and forth between characters kept me well engaged. This is definitely not a book you can read in bits. It will have you reading through til the end.
A chance meeting at a social event brings them together, but when she finds out exactly who he is, she is running faster than a cheetah. She is dumbstruck that he is the very man she will be working for.
She tries to resist him at every turn but he keeps pushing and pushing until she eventually gives in. What scandal will come of this relationship is the question.
This is a definite must read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more to come from Tara Leigh.

My eyes skipped over a blonde in a red dress, and then quickly returned. I hadn’t realized I’d started walking towards her until a waiter nearly spilled my drink. She was gorgeous. And when she tipped her head back to laugh at something the man beside her said, I decided that word was entirely inadequate. Stunning was much more apt. Exquisitely stunning, actually. Her creamy skin was flawless. And she was tall. I looked down, or at least she appeared tall with the five-inch stilettos on her feet. When her open-mouthed laugh faded into a generous smile, her wide eyes met mine. If she’d been an investment, she would have been labeled high risk, high reward, with a warning—Don’t buy if you can’t afford to lose.

Her lips closed around the edge of the glass in her hands, our stare unbroken. Her eyes were the bright shade of freshly cut, well-tended grass. And after she took a sip, white wine by the looks of it, she didn’t look away. Her open appraisal was a lure, and I took the bait. She could have been a model on a billboard in Times Square, or in the GQ magazine I subscribed to but never had the time to read. I know I should’ve turned away. This girl was clearly trouble with capital T, something I needed as much as a hole in my head.

After doing well with the first fifty million I’d been able to raise, I was just about to open my fund up to new investors. I didn’t have any official commitments yet, but I had no doubt my fund was about to grow to at least $500 million. I had a lot to consider, and a ton of work to do. This was the most important time in my career and I couldn’t afford to fuck it up by becoming a lovesick fool over some girl, exquisitely stunning or not.

I stopped in my tracks, maybe ten feet away, although I couldn’t tear my eyes from her face. She was young. Maybe too young? But then she smiled again. And not just any smile. This one wasn’t polite, or friendly, or casual in any way. No, her smile was so bright it heated the drink in my hands and blinded me from seeing anyone else in the room. Her curved lips were an invitation I couldn’t resist. Even though I knew I should.

“Obviously, something needs to happen between us. Soon. Preferably tonight, actually.”

Endorphins ping-ponged through my body like the ball in an old-fashioned arcade game. I’d tried to deny the chemistry between us, then suggested we ignore it. But to hell with that. It just wasn’t possible. I found my voice. “Someplace with a bed, or a couch.” I shrugged. “At least a rug, maybe a table.”

Tristan chuckled, attempting to finger-comb his hair into place. “Last time I checked, my apartment had all four.”

“Good. We can’t be seen in public together. At least not outside of the office.”

“About that. Bettencourt has more than one hedge fund you can work on. I’ll set you up with another portfolio manager or have you assigned to marketing or research, whatever you want.”

I shook my head. That wasn’t what I wanted at all. “No. Please don’t. Your strategy is the one I feel most closely aligned with. I applied to Bettencourt, hoping I’d have the opportunity to work on the Millennial Fund. This doesn’t have to be an either/or situation.” Taking a breath, I debated whether or not I should even verbalize the thoughts racing through my mind. Spit it out, already. I forced words through my mouth in a rush. “Let’s just have sex tonight and get it out of our system. Then we can pretend it never happened and focus on work.”

An aristocratic eyebrow arched upwards. “You think that’s all going to take? One fuck and we won’t ever need to do it again?”

I grinned at Tristan’s outraged expression. He even wore indignation well. “Okay, fine. Maybe we’ll have to do it more than once. But I just started here, and I intend to come out on the other side of this internship with a job offer. And I want it because I’ve proved myself on the Bettencourt trading floor, not in you bedroom. No one can know about us.”

Tristan scowled. “Is there someone else? Maybe not a boyfriend, just a friends-with-benefits kind of thing? You seem pretty eager to keep us in the dark.”

It’s what I know. “Don’t be ridiculous.”

Tristan tucked in his shirt, adjusted his sleeves. Skepticism darkened his eyes. “Casual sex, no strings attached. That’s what you want?”

“I’m not exactly the next Mrs. Bettencourt, Tristan. I highly doubt your socialite stepmother would approve of me.”

“Why?” Tristan seemed less than eager to take my words at face value. “Because you want to do more with your life than plan overpriced parties with bad food and watered-down drinks?”

I looked down, a blush coloring my cheeks. If he knew that even my own mother wouldn’t be seen in public with me, he would feel differently. “Something like that.”

Branch Best has turned my whole world upside down! I sent Adriana so many PMs and Gifs while I was reading this amazing book I think she’s going to block me. I just couldn’t help myself! They may burn the sheets but more importantly, they are friends and what better way to build a love relationship than to be friends first? They need that bond, that like for each other, because together they have to face a rather unforeseen obstacle.

Truly one of the most awesome things in an Adriana Locke story are the secondary characters. They almost always steal the spotlight or make themselves so integral to the plot that without them there would be no story. Everyone wants a best girlfriend like Poppy. Her mouth is foul. She’s sexy, sassy and so incredibly loyal. Her football analogies had me in tears I laughed so hard! She’s not in any way afraid to tell it like it is or put Finn Miller in his place. Finn is the big brother that every girl wants. A fierce protector, loving and absolutely devoted to his sister’s happiness. I’m excited to see Finn and Poppy get their own story!

Lucky Number Eleven was perfection! So funny, steamy with a side sweet. Angsty and just amazingly good! One confident and absolutely charming wide receiver finally brought to his knees by a beautiful woman who is simply being herself. No over the top designer clothes, ill intentions or a womanizer set on bedding the hottest athlete. I cannot stop saying how much I enjoyed my time in Linton. I finished it a few days ago, and I am still smiling. This was FANTASTIC! One of Addy’s best!

When I read a romance by Corinne Michaels, I can never write a review right away. I have to allow time to process the feels that I hope flow into words. I have to let the wondrous words of this writer sink in—saturating me—as I ponder the book that blew me away. Always.

HOLY HOTNESS!!! Stacey has written the hottest story yet. While it does contain BDSM, there is so much more to the story. I guarantee you won’t put it down until you finish.
Rebecca grew up around abuse. Her father user to beat her mother and then her. This makes her hold back in relationships with men. She simply can’t trust that they will not hurt her.
Bennett is not only her boss, but soon to be dom. After pleading from her best friend Miranda, to join her and her man at Luminous for new year’s Eve . She has no problem putting her foot down to refuse. In the end, she gives in but never expected to see her boss on stage doing a scene. He makes eye contact across the room, and the rest is history.
Watching these two go through the ups and downs of this relationship was completely mesmerizing. This definitely a must read for steam and emotions.

Sometimes you need a quick fix when reading, especially if you are a busy mama or have a demanding job. You need a tale that is going to tempt you to read further but one that you can quickly gobble up in one sitting. You need a test drive into new author territory before jumping behind the wheel. Anotholgies like Eye Candy are the perfect places to test drive authors’ words before you thrust full throttle into their books.

When you always wish your favorite authors would write a bit more about their beloved characters that you love and then your wish is granted from a genie called the anthology. The Eye Candy anthology, a collection of short stories from many amazing authors in one book, is that glorified quickie we readers sometimes crave….that wham-bam-thank you, sir or ma’am.

As I only met two series out of the five that the Eye Candy anthology features, I read and reviewed those.

SO MUCH MORE – J. DANIELS

Smoldering sex, sweet surprises, endearing moments, Halloween haunts, and friends who are family make up So Much More! J. Daniels gives readers with more Bama Boys, back to the series of Southern sass, steam and swoon. Each Eye Candy chapter blesses us with a Bama Boy’s point-of-view, an insight into what’s happened since the series stopped.

Ben and Mia return and they are as cute and captivating as ever, especially as parents who still are hot for each other. Their family life is so sweet…so endearing and I loved the sneak peek into their life with littles.

This need—this overwhelming desire to taste and touch and fuck this woman never goes away. Never lessens in the slightest. It’s always there.

Reed and Beth keep the kink in marriage and you have to applaud their Christian Grey creativity. One word: rope! I missed Reed’s deliciously dirty mouth and loved getting a taste.

“Watching you with that rope is driving me crazy. Because I know what you can do with that rope, Reed. I know exactly what you can do with it. And I want that.”

Luke and Tessa are still as feisty as ever and always entertaining couple. I like my alphas a little tarnished and perfectly imperfect, and Luke is all that and more. Tessa always makes me both laugh and gasp in shock…no filter. I LOVE her and still want to be her bestie!

I shouldn’t get off on riling Tessa up and getting a helluva lot of lip from her, but I do. And she gets off on giving it.

Tully and Riley…the best for last and oh do they have a sweet surprise! Tully is still my favorite Bama boy who is entertaining and endearing to me!

This is real—the way she’s looking at me. Those big, blue flames burning me up the way they always do.

That ‘darlin,’ a Southern gal’s kryptonite, gets me every time.

“We were always meant for this, darlin’.”

That Tully charm is twisted around me and I’ll never let it go. I’ll never want to let go of the Bama Boys.

GETTING DOWN – HELENA HUNTING

Heat, humor, and heart make up one delicious delight as Helena Hunting weaves her writing magic into Getting Down. Cinderella meets superheroes and one villain or two in a fierce and fire-hot fairytale that leaves you wanting more. You’ll end this taste of a treat needing the next novel by Helena Hunting, Hooking Up, to satisfy the ache that Getting Down leaves.

The chemistry continues to combust between Bancroft ‘Bane’ and Ruby! These two were created for each other. I loved them both so much!

Serious Bancroft makes me want to get naked. All versions of Bane make me want to get naked, but when he’s all scowly and furrowed brow it makes my lady parts want attention.

Ruby channeled her inner Violet and I was in HUMOR HEAVEN!

“Naughty girl.” He drags a knuckle along my slit. “You’re ready for my cock right now, aren’t you.”

Holy hot! Bane’s deliciously dirty words turned me into wanton woman.

This is the delicious fun that I have come to know from Alexx Andria! A dark hero and the fiesty girl… steamy sexy chemistry. Don’t forget the wicked push and pull between said dark hero and his fiesty girl. Throw in a Buchanan or two that we have had the pleasure of meeting in Alexx’s previous series, and you have Temporary. Don’t think that you’re going to be able to read a little of this and walk away for a few hours. Oh no! This book kept pulling me back every time that I tried to walk away. The story is so well written and just so much fun to read that I didn’t want to stop until I was done. Maybe it’s because I LOVE FOOTBALL and watch it obsessively.

Maybe it’s because I LOVE SPORTS ROMANCES, my favorite romance genre next to rocker reads.

Maybe because childhood friends-to-lovers romances are my weakness…my kryptonite.

Maybe it’s because I need to lose myself completely in stories, feeling every word.

No…not maybe at all…but YES!!! YES to all of these and more! Lauren Blakely wrote SO MUCH MORE than a sports meets friends-to-lovers romance!!!The Most Valuable Playboy is a love story of HAPPY FEELS and FATE, a romance of DREAMS and DESTINY. My first thought while reading The Most Valuable Playboy: This is really a guy writing this book as the perspective is on point. Lauren Blakely SLAYS the MALE POINT-OF-VIEW (POV) like a boss, nailing it like a playboy quarterback to the cheerleading squad. I didn’t even miss the female POV as Lauren Blakely wove enough dialogue into the story to bring depth to both the hero and heroine.

Cooper is an up-and-coming NFL quarterback, a player on and off the field. Gorgeous with sun-kissed brown hair and bright brown eyes, tall, chiseled, and cut…beautiful inside and out. Hot Cooper is also a dirty talker who delivers the big Os with ease. I LOVED this hero!!!!

Beautiful dark-haired and dark-eyed Violet is Cooper’s childhood friend. Sassy, sexy, strong and smart, Violet is gal who could so be my bestie. I ADORED this heroine!

Friends…staying the friend zone is easy until they have to fake a relationship to help Cooper’s career. Then the game gets tough as lines are blurred…

“What are we doing?” she asks.

I bring my face nearer, my forehead touching hers.

Then we kiss, and it’s the first kiss that belongs to us.

That kiss, so sweet and delicate, was EVERYTHING!!! I could not help but smile, as this kiss lifted me up to the clouds, swooning all the way. The chemistry between Cooper and Violet is a play they can’t fake.

She’s doing a everything to me—hitting me everywhere—mind, body, and straight in the heart with an arrow I’m not even sure she knows she’s aiming in that direction.

Don’t let the fact that I’m the leading pick in the Most Valuable Playboy charity auction fool you. These days, I’m only a player on the field. I’ve kept my pants zipped all season long — and it has been long — because nothing’s more important than leading my team to victory every week. Except maybe escaping from the team owner’s recently-widowed and handsy-as-hell sister who’s dead set on winning more than a date with me.

Enter Violet and a well-placed Hail Mary.

She’s my best friend’s sister with a smile as sweet as cherry pie and a mind that runs quicker than the 40-yard-dash. Those are just some of the nicknames I’ve been given in the last few years. They don’t bug me. Not one bit. They’ve all been true, especially that last one. You should see my ass. You can bounce a quarter off my cheeks.

Here’s the thing—when you spend the first three years of your career warming the bench for the best player in the league, you can’t get a chip on your shoulder. You have to stay sharp and be ready for that moment when you swap out a ball cap for a helmet and get your pants dirty.

Yeah, I’ve enjoyed the fuck out of being paraded on stage in front of hundreds of women, their slender arms lifted in the air, raising their bids higher on me than all the other guys. It’s been my one chance to shine, even to stand out.

Those days are behind me, though, now that I’m finally leading the team down the field every single Sunday. I still expect to rake in top dollar for the charity I gladly support, but this time, I won’t be living it up and letting loose after hours. I have a reputation to protect, and a season on the line.

The trouble is, the woman who has her eyes on me at the Most Valuable Playboy charity auction wants my full enchilada, and it’s not on the menu anymore.
