“Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.” ~Vince Lombardi

Football is my favorite sport to watch on TV. I love the fast pace and fierce completion. I love the game. I LOVE FOOTBALL! Hot guys in tight pants with massive muscles scrambling over the ball all day long? Sign me up! Football gets my heart racing and my blood pumping with adrenaline. You’ll find me in front of the TV or occasionally at the game during NFL season where I am so engaged that I should be a sideline commentator. I live and breathe this sport like it’s my religion.

While I have been stalking Sosie Frost’s hot covers and drooling over the accompanying book synopses for her football series for many weeks, I had not met one book by this author until now. Until Happily Ever All-Star hit my kindle and I was lost to this football romance. Before I dove in, I could not help but shoot a few eyegasms at the cover because I’m a football fangirl and football players are hot.

Because 7 points = a touchdown (counting that extra point of course)….

REASON #1 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: FOOTBALL.

“I don’t bother romance. Football is my only desire.”

There is something so special and sweet about a friends-to-lovers romance. The history, friendship, and realization that there is more make me swoon so much. Throw football into the mix and it makes for one touchdown of a story! A fun and flirty friends-to-lovers meets football romance, Happily Ever All-Star is a touchdown of a tale that’s full of heat and heart.

REASON #2 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS ROMANCE.

“God, she was absolutely stunning…But it didn’t matter. One thing hadn’t changed. She was my best friend’s little sister.”

Dark and beautiful, Aurora ‘Rory’ is the neurologist for the Ironfield Rivets. Rory’s newest patient is the blue-eyed, golden-haired, tall, and very fit football player, Jude Owens. Jude also happens to be her step-brother’s best friend. The best friend who has been her secret crush for a lifetime.

REASON #3 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: SURPRISE PREGNANCY.

The heroine in this book doesn’t get pregnant at the end. She is already with child. I loved the unexpected surprise!

REASON #4 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: PRETEND BOYFRIEND

Rory Jude is the father of Rory’s unborn baby. Or at least that’s what the world thinks. The real-life knight in shining armor, Jude, rescues the reputation of his princess by pretending to be her baby daddy to the public. In turn, Rory will protect his football career.

“Our love has to make Romeo and Juliet look like idiot teenagers.”

REASON #5 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: HOT & HUMOROUS

Happily Ever All-Star brought its A game in heat and humor. I laughed and lusted at the lines that made me blush and blurt out with giggles like these.

“Until this point, the pregnancy cravings hadn’t extended beyond orange juice and chocolate. Now I wanted something different.”

“A meat popsicle.”
“A lick of his loins.”
“A peck of his pecker.”
“Maybe a cheeseburger too.”

REASON #6 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: CHEMISTRY COLLISION

The chemistry is combustible. A collision of current that can’t be broken. One that is a higher power than friendship, more akin to fate. Rory and Jude can’t ignore the feelings that flow when they are near each other making the fake relationship feel real. Though to make it real, they have to at least test the waters with a kiss and oh what a kiss it was.

“We touched. We kissed. We groaned within comfort of each other’s lips as desire tangled us tighter than our embrace. This wasn’t passion—it was freedom. Permission. A moment of weakness that hid us from our own thoughts and fears and regrets.”

I spun in a sea of swoon as I rooted for love to win the game. I wanted love to burst through the friendship defensive line and make a touchdown.

REASON #7 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: PLOT OF PERFECTION

You have to love a twist on the friends-to-lovers romance where the heroine is pregnant at the beginning instead of the end. A story where the hero is really a huge hero—one that will do anything for his friend who is quickly becoming more. A story where lines are blurred to where they cross many times.

“I couldn’t have a fake relationship with Jude. Not when everything already felt so real.”

For Jude, Rory is not a distraction but a reason to fight for the game. Fight for him as injuries keep mounting up and may pave the way to the end. Fight for the possibility of more. Though before the players have even warmed up, trust may be the penalty that stops the game for good.

Lines and blurred. Friends hover into lovers’ territory. The football game and season are on the line while two hearts are as well.

“I knew how to win a football game, but scoring with Rory? It wasn’t just a bad idea; it was the wrong game to play.”

Sweet, sexy, and spellbinding, Happily Ever All-Star packs heat and heart into a touchdown of a tender tale. This story is the perfect second-chance romance for the sports junkie. I was in the stands cheering for the Ironside Rivets, I was in the locker room listening to the team pep talks, and I was on the field chasing the ball with the players as feels were flying. I was in this game for the win.

Happily Ever All-Star is a fierce and flirty football romance that oozes spice and sweetness, an all-star story indeed. I could not help but cheer for love to win the game. This raw and rousing romance is fresh, flirty, and fabulous and I was glued to this sensational sports story like my favorite team playing football. I loved this refreshing read and now I need to date the rest of Sosie Frost’s books.

synopsis.jpg

Can you fake a happily-ever-after?

Veteran running back Jude Owens is one of the best and most respected players in the league. A brutal concussion nearly ended his career, but Jude refuses to retire without earning the ultimate honor—a championship.

But first, he needs me to clear him to play. As the Ironfield Rivets’ neurologist, I usually treat bad boy quarterbacks and beastly linebackers. I can’t be impartial when my lifelong crush hops onto the exam table. Not only is Jude gorgeous and a gentleman, he’s my brother’s best friend…and the father of my unborn baby.

Or so everyone thinks.

Jude offers to pose as my boyfriend and the baby’s father to save my reputation. In return, he needs my help to stay on the field. The pretend romance keeps me close enough to take care of him, but I can’t protect my heart. Our stolen kisses and nightly indiscretions make this fake relationship feel so very real.

I can’t complicate our arrangement by falling in love, especially as Jude’s obsession with football blinds him to everything but the game. When his symptoms worsen, the only way I can protect him may be to sit him on the sidelines. But ending his career will ruin our Once Upon A Time.

It’s up to me to save my prince charming.
Even if it means I lose my happily-ever-after.

Review – Latch by LK Collins

LATCH final eBook

Review graphic

There are no words.

As I turned the last page of Latch and screamed loud enough to wake my two sleeping sons, I kept shaking my head. Not believing how this absolutely emotional roller coaster ended. I had been warned and of course, I thought I was prepared.

I clearly was not.

Latch Teracino was New York’s most coveted male escort. So in demand, he could have his pick of any woman he wanted – for a price. He lived to please and he did his job extremely well. Making money hand over fist, he had no attachments. No worries. Until Abby McEllrath enters his life and turns everything upside down. He’s drawn to her from the moment that he met her. He doesn’t want her money. He only wants her – her time, her attention, her love. Still he knows that their professional relationship is the only way that he can have her and he will take her anyway that he can.

Abby is an unhappy MBL wife. Her husband is emotionally distant, verbally abusive and a serial cheater. She covets her time with Latch. He makes her feel cherished, protected and wanted. Sexy and sensual. He wants her. Just her. Still Abby has her fears. She knows that Latch is dedicated to his job. Would he give all of that up for her? Could she count on him to step away and focus his life on her and only her?

As the situation continues to grow more complicated, I found myself pulled more and more into their story. The chemistry and sexy times between Latch and Abby scorch the pages of this story. Still outside of their amazing love life, insecurities and past relationships continue to strain the relationship. But they want their relationship and work hard to make it solid and real. As a reader, I’m comfortable and excited to see them building something lasting.

Then I turned the page. And was left devastated. Reeling. No way could it end like THIS?

Incredibly moving. A beautifully written roller coaster. One of my favorite books of the year! Fantastic, LK!

When New York City’s most desirable male escort gets caught, things get messy.

Latch Teracino is God’s gift to women. He’s everything you’ve ever dreamed of in a man, and he’ll fulfill your hottest fantasies, all for a price. He makes a very good living pleasing the rich and famous. Like Abby McEllrath, married to Major League Baseball’s biggest all-star, which often leaves her at home, lonely and bored.

After years of neglect and disrespect from a man who promised to give her the world, she meets Latch in the most unlikely setting. For Latch, she’s just another client – it’s the way he works. And for Abby, she adapts. However, as time progresses, their explosive connection transforms from dirty, raw sex into so much more than just a paid relationship.

Lines are crossed.

Rules are broken.

And lives are shattered.

In the end, Latch and Abby have to make a choice, one that will forever change the course they were destined to be a part of. But sometimes a simple choice isn’t that easy, especially when the one you leave behind would rather die than live without you.

Review – Hitched 3 by Kendall Ryan

Hitched: Volume Three by Kendall Ryan

Kendall Ryan - H3 Banner.jpg

img_1368-7My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kendall Ryan - H3 Cover

I nearly had a bookgasm before I even pounced on the pages of Hitched 3, the conclusion to a captivating series. Kendall Ryan’s writing is pure pleasure and a guaranteed good time. Being the greedy gal and bookworm I am, I had to have more Hitched. The Hitched series quickly became my intoxicating indulgence.

Hitched had me laughing and lusting.
Hitched 2 had me reeling in angst.
Hitched 3 had me sweating, swooning, sniffling, snickering, and smiling.

The perfect conclusion to an enthralling and explosive frenemies-to-lovers romance, Hitched 3 brings the heat with a whole lot of heart. Amusing. Angst-filled. All-consuming. The Hitched series hitched itself to my heart and hypnotized me, never letting go.

“Our marriage was only supposed to be a legal agreement—a business arrangement meant to appease the stakeholders. But we’ve quickly become something much more.”

The fake feels real in the sham of a marriage that began as a business agreement between Olivia and Noah but is now much more. Feelings are vested and much more is on the line. The anguish had me swimming in a sea of anticipation. Rapidly reading with bated breathing, I was on edge as I wondered if and how the new fake-real relationship would work. One thing that works like magic is the sex part of the package.

“Noah is thoughtful and kind and generous in bed…and hung like a damn elephant.”

Noah aims to please and Olivia is one lucky lady. I love that Olivia is not only beautiful but a strong, smart, sassy, and sexy woman. Her lady balls are bigger than Noah’s and she doesn’t tolerate treated like an inferior. Olivia is the ultimate woman as Noah is the perfect man. If only they would stop messing up the relationship part.

“Olivia isn’t just my crush anymore, the girl I wanted to play house with. She’s become my everything. She’s the woman who’s won me over against all odds…And I’m just the douche who betrayed her.”

I’m lovesick for Noah and want a love connection with Olivia and him desperately. I want Noah to right his wrongs and make Olivia believe that he is it for her. His heart has always been Olivia’s he must convince her that they are meant to be together forever.

“To think I was actually starting to hope. To get attached to Noah, to trust him, to think of myself as part of an us.”

The push and pull of Hitched hit me like the tide of the sea. One minute I was swimming in a sea of bliss, body stretched out on my happy raft as it floated on the ocean. Then as quickly as I was in my bliss bubble, I was pulled under a riptide, helpless as I prayed to be rescued from the dark storm that was suddenly cast over me.

“My heart still beats, but it’s broken. I never knew a love like I’ve felt for Olivia.”

My heart breaks for Noah and Olivia. There is nothing like the heartbreak of a couple meant to be but is torn apart. Fate has thrown this captivating and compassionate couple together and I don’t want fate to be wrong. Fate can’t be wrong.

“Noah Tate, my husband, my rival, my betrayer, my partner. This walking contradiction, the one man I can’t seem to stay away from, who makes my emotions simultaneously so confusion and so clear.”

Hitched is a beautiful disaster, a messy but meaningful love story. Oh was I drunk on this book that became my drug. My addiction. My angst. My all-encompassing everything. I felt every word in Hitched as it hit me like paint to a canvas. The emotions swirled around me like a hurricane. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I hoped heartbreak would bleed into happiness.

Kendall Ryan writes the most satisfying, sexy, spellbinding, and soulful stories. The Hitched series is pure pleasure, one that hooked me hard with a dual dose of heat and heart where I quickly lost myself and didn’t want to be found. The banter, bounce, and brilliance of this book and series wrapped itself around me so tightly. I could not help but be swept into this whirlwind romance that felt nothing but real. The series is over, but I am still hitched Hitched and don’t want to let go.

I’ve ruined everything.

I’ve broken the cardinal rule and fallen in love with my fake wife, and then I went and did the worst thing a husband can do.

Winning her back will be nearly impossible, but I’ve never backed down from a challenge before and I’m sure as hell not about to start now. Olivia will be mine, and I can’t wait to put a bun in her oven.

You won’t want to miss the final installment in Noah and Olivia’s love story, and especially the way this over-the-top alpha male wins over his bride once and for all.

This is the third and final volume in the story.

Review – Forbidden Fling by Skye Jordan

Forbidden Fling

Review graphic

Warring families. A tragic accident. A love affair that would destroy everyone involved if the affair is discovered. Instead of the Montagues and the Capulets, the family feud is on a smaller scale – the Harts vs the Hayes. But just like Romeo and Juliet, two people find love where they certainly shouldn’t and secrets can destroy.

The Hayes have always blamed Delaney Hart for the loss of family member, Ian. It’s because of her, her alcoholic father and their bar – The Bad Seed – that Ian was killed. But they’ve also blamed their own son, Ethan. He should never have let Ian drink too much and get into any fights. The Hayes managed to squeeze Delaney and make things so difficult for her that at 18 years old she leaves Wildwood, her two young sisters and aunt. Ethan fairs no better, leaving his own dreams behind when the guilt of Ian’s death is used to his bitter father’s advantage.

Ten years have passed and The Bad Seed brings Delaney back to the one place she never wanted to see again. The bar her father has left to her and her two sisters has been designated a visual nuisance. It is up to Delaney to make a decision on the bar – demolish the place of her nightmares or renovate. Ethan has his own dreams for The Bad Seed’s liquor license – he wants to open his own brew pub for his homemade beer. The plot thickens even more – he is the city planner and chief inspector.

Ethan has always wanted Delaney but knows she’s out of his league. Delaney has struggled the last ten years and has kept men at arm’s length. What’s supposed to be one night together changes everything. Delaney knows the feud will escalate if they are discovered. Even if she and Ethan are electric together, her plans for the bar will damage the fragile bond between them. Ethan realizes that with her he can finally be everything he wants to be – have everything he ever wanted. Still so much stands in the way – his warped family, his obligations and his guilt.

Oh, the steam and instant chemistry between these two! Scorching hot encounters that neither one could forget. Neither could this reader! Delaney and Ethan burn, burn, burn! The family feud left me speechless and angry. How can family be this cruel? The story is wonderfully full of angst, heartbreak, misunderstandings and want for something that should never be. Twist and turns kept me turning the pages. I fell just as hard for the secondary characters – Pops and Phoebe – as I did for Ethan and Delaney. Especially for Pops.

Forbidden Fling is a fantastic look into Wildwood! The Hart sisters, Avery and Chloe, are set to come home soon, and I very excited to see what happens next in this series! This was a fun and fabulous read. Great job, Skye!

4 Wildwood will be WILD! Kisses

synopsis.jpg

Forbidden Fling, Book 1 in the Wildwood Series by Skye Jordan

Delaney Hart has come a long way from her wild youth, dating tattooed bikers at her father’s bar, The Bad Seed. But when his death pulls her back to Wildwood, California, she must stay to renovate the dive he left her. And also face the lies and secrets that sent her running ten years before.

When Wildwood’s chief building inspector, Ethan Hayes, shows up on the property, Delaney doesn’t recognize him. The last thing he wants to do is save the bar where his cousin died in a brawl. But the good boy from her past is all too willing to remind her of the bad girl she used to be. And one night of passion leaves them both in a compromising position.

The last place Ethan should be is in Delaney’s bed. Guilt, family pressure, and plans for a brewpub of his own make shutting down The Bad Seed his top priority…until his feelings for Delaney interfere. Because her future depends on the success of the bar’s renovation and his dreams are rooted in its failure, their forbidden romance may be destined for heartbreak.

Excerpt

She lifted a hand to his face and cupped his jaw. “You’ve been through enough. You have a great life here. A good job, great friends, everyone in town respects and likes you, all the single girls can’t wait for the day you look their way. I’m not going to come into town for a week, or a month, turn everything upside down, and leave. That’s not right.” She ran her thumb over his cheek and smiled. “So we’re good?”

Panic blipped through his chest. He covered her hand with his to keep her from leaving, while he fought for something to say that would fix everything and make her stay. But she was so freaking rational, so goddamned logical, he was having a hard time finding anything to work with. And with the bar, his grandfather, his family, his aunt, and his job in the middle of this, he didn’t even know if he should.

“Delaney, let’s—”

“It’s not a big deal.” She curled her fingers around his and lowered their hands. “And I’m not going to make it one. I just wanted you to know so you wouldn’t worry. I’m good, so we’re good.” She nodded. Smiled again. “Okay?”

Say okay and let her go.

He shifted on his feet.

One little word.

Let her go. Right your world.

“No.” He heaved a sigh and rubbed his eyes. “No, it’s not okay.”

“Ethan . . .”

Her goddammit-I’m-barely-holding-on-here plea was lost on him. He slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her warm little body against his.

She pushed at his shoulders, leaning away. “You know I’m right. You know it’s what you need.”

“No.” He lifted a hand and cupped the back of her neck. “You are what I need.”

He pulled her mouth to his and kissed her. She mewled, the sound frustrated, but her hands fisted in his shirt and held him close.

Ethan softened his mouth, tilted his head, and kissed her again. This time, she whimpered and her body loosened. The feel of her melting against him pushed heat through his body. He moaned and slid the hand at her neck into the silky strands of her hair, and when she parted her lips to gasp, he pushed his tongue into her mouth.

She opened to him immediately, hungrily, and met the stroke of his tongue. The warm, wet slide made everything Ethan had been holding back—the lust, the confusion, the fear, the anger, the want, the longing—break through his barriers like a flood. The wave wiped everything from his mind but Delaney and brought profound relief.

With nothing else invading his thoughts, he focused on the luscious cushion of her breasts against his chest, the soft mound of her sex against his cock, the feel of her small waist beneath his arm.

And, God, her mouth. Wet. Warm. Wild.

He tore out of the kiss, lifting her into his arms and starting for the house. “Fuck, I need you.”

She bit her way down his neck, and tingles spread across his skin, but at the same time she murmured breathless attempts at logic. “We can’t keep doing this. Too complicated. If anyone finds out . . .”

He pushed his door open, covered her mouth with his, and let his tongue talk her out of leaving. By the time they were inside, she had her legs wrapped at his hips, one hand deep in his hair, the other working his belt open.

The thrill of winning her over spread through him like fire. He kicked the door closed, and Delaney pulled out of the kiss, breathless, both hands moving to the buttons of his shirt. Turning a circle, he searched for the closest horizontal surface. But his kitchen was a mess, his sofa was covered with laundry, and his dining room table was strewn with paperwork.

Then her mouth found his again, licking and biting and sucking, while her hands worked on his shirt, and his desperation mounted.

“This is the last time,” she murmured between kisses. “Not happening again.”

Screw that. He turned a half circle and rested her butt on a wide, deep windowsill. Her thighs opened, and she pulled him between her legs.

Review – Dirty Work by Chelle Bliss & Brenda Rothert

Dirty Work by Chelle Bliss & Brenda Rothert

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chelle Bliss Cover

Being a Virginia gal born and raised in the DC suburbs, I could not help but live and breathe politics—whether I wanted to or not. I could not ignore the parties of red and blue even if I wanted to. Being near the nation’s capital, politics was served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was everywhere! While I don’t follow politics much and would not be called a fan, the political romance I gobbled up from Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert made me want to parade into the political pool with pom-poms as Dirty Work is that POWERFUL and PERFECT!!!

I dug into Dirty Work with a deep hunger, a story where I expected to flame with desire. What I did not prepare for was the assault on my heart where it was pounded into pieces. Dirty Work is deliciously dirty, fabulously flirty, fierce, and full of feels. Pulse pounding. Body blazing. Feelings flaring. I was utterly consumed and captivated from beginning to end.

Reagan Preston is calm, cool, collected, and beautiful. She is the daughter of Senator Preston, set to retire, and she is set on moving up the political ladder from Representative to Senator. Reagan’s opponent, a political virgin, is the panty-melting, power-wielding, former Marine veteran, Jude Titan who is fierce and fiery. Titan is correct as this man is big in all the right places.

Both are armed in battle to become the next Senator of Illinois.

I love how Reagan’s lady balls are willing and ready to do some busting.

“I’m eager for him to see that I can bust balls with the best of them. Jude Titan can bring it on. I’m ready.”

Jude, a former military man, is making me swoon everywhere. He is a proud veteran and representative of everything not political and I love that part best.

“Reagan Preston’s about to find out Marines always fight to win, no matter the cost.”

When the gorgeous gal and guy meet, it’s a firestorm as lethal as the hardest-fought political debate.

Jude dishes the dirty in Dirty Work.

“God, the way her calves look when she sits with her legs crossed. I can almost fel them squeeze my head like a vise when I’m licking her.”

Holy mother of hotness!

Reagan is distracted by everything Titan.

Chelle Bliss Teaser

“My libido was in overdrive as I spoke to him, torn between staring at his inked, muscled forearms and his intense, dark brown eyes. He’s got swagger in spades, and it’s really sexy.”

Red versus blue. Fire versus ice. Titan vs. Preston. Only one candidate will win and both are prepared to fight this battle until the end.

“I need to remind myself that we’re not friends. We’ll never be friends. She’s the enemy. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer? The Godfather may be right.”

Closer is what chemistry has planned for this captivating couple where the pull, like politics, is too fire-hot and strong to resist.

“We’re not friends. We’re nothing.”

“But the way you kissed me back, we’re something, whether you’ll admit it to yourself or not.”

The race is heating up where the heart is on fire along with the poll numbers. Lines are blurred. Feelings are flowing in a cloud of confusion. Politics versus love. Only one race will generate a winner.

Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert made me fall in love with politics—especially as an Independent—even if fictional. Dirty Work is THE WINNER in the race for romance! If only politics could be as poignant and powerful as in Dirty Work. Politics that please the people. A Washington where blue and red bleed into purple with both main parties and players working in harmony rather than tearing each other apart. I LOVED these authors’ version of politics that united rather than divided and what America should be in spades.

Power play. Sex. Scandal. Lies. Corruption. Villains. Heroes. Passion and power permeated through the pages, banter blazed fire, and love threatened everything. Dirty Work felt like a guilty pleasure; it became my dirty little secret. I left this achingly-addictive and alluring story that stole my heart WANTING MORE. NEEDING more. Hoping for more Dirty Work as I don’t think this romantic race is over.

synopsis.jpg

From authors Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert comes a smoldering standalone enemies to lovers romance that will, ahem…check all your boxes.

Reagan
I hate him. Jude Titan is everything that’s wrong with the male sex: cocky, domineering and loaded with swagger. Oh, and did I mention he’s a Republican? Yeah, the guy’s so conservative he leans to the right when walking. And lucky me, I’m running against him for Senate. But I’ve got plenty of fight in me. A golden boy war hero opponent with a smile that leaves melted panties in its wake? Bring. It. On.

Jude
Damn, she’s sexy. Reagan Preston intrigues me from the moment I lay eyes on her. And speaking of laying…I want between those thighs. But I want to make her burn for me first. Every debate and stolen moment is foreplay for us. She claims she hates me, but her body tells a different story. I plan to win this election, but I also want to win the sharp, fiery Democrat who captures my attention like no woman ever has. Politics is filthy, just like all the things I want to do to Reagan Preston.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.” ~Vince Lombardi

I confess: My favorite sport is FOOTBALL! I love the fast-pace and fierce completion. I love the game. I LOVE FOOTBALL! Plus, I can watch those hot guys in tight pants with massive muscles scrambling over the ball all day long. There is nothing like the thrill of football to get my heart racing and my blood pumping with adrenaline. You’ll find me in front of the TV or occasionally at the game during NFL season where I am so engaged that I should be a sideline commentator. I live and breathe this sport like it’s my religion. A sports romance like Kicked is my religion too.

“After all, is football a game or a religion?”~Howard Cosell

When I found out that the amazing Celia Aaron was writing a football book, I may have had a bookgasm or few—like the football freak I am—from the thought alone. My body tingled with excitement before I even began the book. I decided to be the Rogue Reviewer for Kicked, going blindly in because it’s fun to embrace the unknown and dive into a story sans synopsis. Oh what a surprise of a story it was! Kicked quickly catapulted me into a sports spiral of bliss where I was spinning in sweet satisfaction!

Beautiful, dark-haired, and amber-eyed Cordy has with curves that look female even through all of the football she sports. Cordy is soccer star who is now playing football for her college team, the Billingsley Bobcats, because she needs the scholarship money.

“I needed the money; the school needed a female who could kick. That was how I wound up on a football field with the crowd cheering, the Gatorade flowing, and the testosterone reigning.”

The kicker for the team, she is the lone lamb in a pack of wolves. Cordy handles her own though, turning she-wolf when the wolves act like wieners.

“Soccer was my sport, but football was in my blood.”

I LOVE how Kicked features a strong FEMALE FOOTBALL STAR. How refreshing and reverse-roled is that?!? It’s AMAZING…that’s what it is!

Not only did soccer star, Cordy, have to switch gears and drop her beloved soccer for football, she is forced to play with the one boy who broke her heart two years ago. More a boy back then, Trent is now ALL MAN and the quarterback who not only holds on to a football but a piece of Cordy’s heart. Tall and muscular with the perfect ‘V’ with dark hair, and green eyes, Trent is panty-melting hot. Add tight football pants to the mix and Trent is sex-on-a-stick-or-football-goalie HOT.

Kicked Teaser 2.jpg

“I hated Trent, but I was also starved for him. How could I still crave him after all this time?”

My body is warming too. Trent may be a big guy but he has a big heart.

For Trent, Cordy is a distraction on the field and off. She is sweet, sexy and sassy, and shares Trent’s love for the game. Though he would love to show Cordy his game in the bedroom and claim her as his.

“Her full lips were made for kissing. I’d only ever gotten a taste of them in one stolen moment two years ago, but I wanted more.”

Holy HOT! Trent is sweet and sensual. Pure perfection.

Cordy has to step up her kicking game as she has moved from the bench to the field. What better person to give her pointers than the quarterback, the kicker’s right-hand man?!? Cordy vows to focus on the game and not on Trent’s tantalizing and tender talk or his blazing-hot body.

“I couldn’t go down the path that I already knew would end in disappointment.”

Cordy has been on Trent’s mind since he broke her heart and he is ready to stake his claim.

KIcked Teaser.jpg

“For the millionth time, I cursed myself for ruining things with her two years ago. But I could fix it.”

Lines and blurred. Friends hover into lovers’ territory. The football game and season are on the line while two hearts are as well.

Entrancing and exhilarating, Kicked packs heat and heart into a touchdown of a tender tale. Playful. Passionate. Powerful. Kicked is the perfect second-chance romance for the sports junkie. I was in the stands cheering for the Billingsley Bobcats, I was in the locker room listening to the team pep talks, and I was on the field chasing the ball with the players as my emotions were thoroughly Kicked. I was in this game ALL THE WAY.

This fierce and flirty football romance that oozes spice and sweetness hits meaningful messages. One being a phenomenal role for females in that they are strong athletes who can play any sport that men can. Perseverance also filters through this football romance where, like in the game of football, you fall down but brush yourself off and get right back in the game.

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”~Vince Lombardi

Kicked is action-packed and achingly-addictive like football where I was embedded in this book all the way. I could not help but cheer for love to win the game. This raw and rousing romance is fresh, flirty, and fabulous and I was glued to this sensational sports story like my favorite team playing football. I loved getting Kicked and left needing more.

synopsis.jpg

Trent Carrington.

Trent Mr. Perfect-Has-Everyone-Fooled Carrington.

He’s the star quarterback, university scholar, and happens to be the sexiest man I’ve ever seen. He shines at any angle, and especially under the Saturday night stadium lights where I watch him from the sidelines. But I know the real him, the one who broke my heart and pretended I didn’t exist for the past two years.

I’m the third-string kicker, the only woman on the team and nothing better than a mascot. Until I’m not. Until I get my chance to earn a full scholarship and join the team as first-string. The only way I’ll make the cut is to accept help from the one man I swore never to trust again. The problem is, with each stolen glance and lingering touch, I begin to realize that trusting Trent isn’t the problem. It’s that I can’t trust myself when I’m around him.

This is a full-length, sweet, hot, safe, standalone American football romance novel.

Review – Twirled Bond by Emma Hart

Murder, mystery, intrigue, suspense, love, sex, sass and SO MUCH MORE makes up Twirled Bond, the 5th installment of the Holly Woods series.

Filled with the humour and hotness that we’ve previously come to expect with the Holly Woods series, Emma once again takes Drake & Noelle on a new thrill ride that fully captivated my attention, made me laugh and ultimately stole my heart.

Each book in the Holly Woods series, is fresh but continues perfectly from the one before! If you enjoy a suspense filled, romantic comedy, with intrigue and intensity then this book, this whole series is for you!

4.5 magical mystery stars!

If I thought Holly Woods was crazy before, I was wrong.

Devin is finally married. Nonna’s on the wedding warpath. Drake might be getting ideas. His mom just dropped a bombshell, and Bek is caught between a hot as hell FBI agent and my super-sweet little brother.

And I still don’t have the shoe closet Drake promised me when he moved in six months ago.

At least there’s one positive: the old, abandoned Holly Woods Theater is about to reopen, and there’s nothing like a theater opening to bring people together… And make crazy grandmothers forget proposal agendas.

Until that theater comes with a dead body. A very, very, very dead body.

Chaos is coming to town.

Everything I’ve ever known about Holly Woods might just be about to change.

Review – Provocative by Alex Lucian

Man, oh, man, oh, man!! I honestly have NO IDEA where to start. Holy shiz, this book rocked me to my core! When I first saw that we were getting more from Nathan & Adele I think I squealed a little, then came the anxiety of what on earth would happen between them and wowzas a lot freaking happened between them!

My naughty professor and his teasing temptress stole my heart in Tempting. In Provocative they obliterated it, before rendering me speechless with their love and devotion. The forbidden fantasy became an overwhelming, heart breaking romance that drained me, push all my emotions to the brink and then fully claimed me!

I didn’t think I could love them anymore to be honest. I was so scared that this book would do something to make me not like Adele. Don’t ask me why just her, I have no idea. It was just a funny feeling. But my word! I freaking LOVE her, even more so now! If possible, her character development in this book brought her on SO MUCH MORE! Alex pushed her to the limits in this book, with a devastating story line that packed a punch in the feels department! But she grew, a lot. And man, I wanted to fist bump her on a few occasions, as well as hug her and cry with her.

Nathan once again made me all tingly. He’s sin, wrapped in a delicious hot package. But I’ll admit he made me ansty when reading this book, I was on the edge of my seat at times not knowing where their story was going.

However, it went in the best possible direction, a fantastic direction that lit up a pathway to bookworm heaven. A heaven I don’t want to descend from!!

Coming home to a quiet, dark house.
Meals by myself, because she was already done.

Excuses and apologies, they were never enough.

But even with that, when I touched her—when she arched under me and pulled me deeper— we couldn’t get back to where we needed to be.

Where we used to be.

It was all frustration.

Loneliness.

Loss.

Because even though she was no longer my student, the chemistry was always there.

Adele and I loved each other.

We thought we were unshakeable.

But love isn’t always enough.

It wasn’t enough when I constantly disappointed her.

It wasn’t enough when loss cleaved us in two.

And when she left me, love was not enough.

She didn’t know yet that I’d never stop fighting for her.

But she would.

**Author’s note- Let’s be real clear that this is BOOK TWO of a duet, and you’re going to want to read Tempting before you read this one. Adele and Nathan started their story in that book, and you’ll get the same sex, fighting, and cursing that you did in the first. But if you want it to make sense, read Tempting first. If any of that offends you, please avoid them both.**

Review – Bossman by Vi Keeland

So I got to 22% and I KNEW that Bossman was a 5 star read. No doubt about it. At 22% I could have ended there and said it was one of my top books of the year! Now 22% may seem a bit premature to some and I know some people will think “yeah right whatever” but after reading 22% I couldn’t imagine NOT finishing this book, I was hooked, 100% in. Obviously, I continued and OH EM GEE I am just so HAPPY with this book!! I’m currently sat, minutes after finishing with a stupid grin on my face and tears in my eyes!

In true Vi Keeland fashion this book follows one sexy, cocky hero and his sassy female counterpart. The dynamic between Chase and Reese is utter perfection! They are electric. I’m pretty sure their connection is one of the strongest I’ve read, I felt EVERY little ping of want, need and lust. I felt every burn of tension and love. Added together they are an inferno. And I happily bathed in their flame.

What really sets this book alight though is the story line. Yes we have a woman getting with her Boss and a witty, sexy adventure to get them there. But it’s the characters back story that really ADDS everything to Bossman.

Vi’s story telling is second to none. Literally so strong. Bossman is mainly told from Reese’s point of view but the chapters we get from Chase are so intense it honestly made my heart skip a beat. The intrigue and suspense that builds through this story is what held me most captive. It built up to a truly powerful crescendo that was executed seamlessly. My heart hurt and my breath caught. I was sucker punched with FEELS and it’s was the best thing ever!

Bossman from start to finish is a beautiful, breath taking read that not only made me grin like a Cheshire cat, burn up hotter than a flame and laugh but it also made me swoon, fall in love and FEEL! I keep saying it, I’ve said it about every Vi Keeland book I’ve read – this is most probably Vi’s best book to date. Every single time the writing gets more seamless, the words flow more intricately and the story even better, each and every time Vi tops her previous work of art and this one is now my favourite! I am blissfully happy after reading this book. It’s a top read of 2016 for sure!!

5 insanely HUGE stars!!!

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business―his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business―and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us―telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again…

What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

Review – Going Down Easy by Carly Phillips

easy_amazon

Review graphic

Carly Phillips is back and once again has written the beginning to another fantastic series. Just when I thought that her Dirty Sexy series with Erika Wilde was some of her best stories I have read, Carly gives us the tech genius that is Kaden Barnes. Truly he is unlike any character I have read in recent memory. He’s moody, difficult and a total pain to everyone in his office, but he’s also brilliant, beautiful and so alpha he sets the pages of GDE on fire! But his demands and over the top behaviors make him nearly impossible to work for. That is, until Lexie Parker arrives.

Lexie is desperate. She needs this job. She’s determined, fierce and will not take no for an answer. She walks into Kaden Barnes’ office and takes charge. She shakes up Kaden in a way that no one ever has. She’s all about business. She refuses to be afraid of Kaden and has no problem letting him know she isn’t. This job is about Lexie getting her life back. So many times she has sacrificed for her family… put herself last. But no more. This job, this man is her chance to start over.

Kaden’s quirks and demands and his attention to exact details are no surprise to Lexie. She sees those same struggles in her sister who is suffering from bipolar disorder. Lexie has always had to care for her twin sister while her father had more pressing issues with their mother. Kaden and Lexie are drawn to each other. For once he can be himself and has someone in his life that GETS him… flaws and all. His father has tried. His mother never has. He hasn’t seen his brother in years. Other women have only seen his money and what they can get from him. Lexie simply wants him but she certainly doesn’t want to. They both want to fight the attraction between them but when they finally give in to what they feel there is no stopping them.

Twists and turns come. Insecurities must be dealt with. Things happen that could shake the couple and tear them apart. Carly writes their love story so elegantly and with such emotion. She dealt with the characters’ mental health issues with class and dignity. On a personal note, I thanked Carly for her potrayal of Kaden’s struggles with ADHD and OCD. I saw my own child in Kaden and it made me re-evaluate my own actions and plans to help my child be all he can be.

Once again, Carly Phillips hands her readers a truly amazing story! Kaden is sinfully sexy. Lexie is strong and his perfect compliment. I cannot wait to read the rest of the Billionaire Bad Boys!

Very well done, Carly!
