My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.” ~Vince Lombardi

Football is my favorite sport to watch on TV. I love the fast pace and fierce completion. I love the game. I LOVE FOOTBALL! Hot guys in tight pants with massive muscles scrambling over the ball all day long? Sign me up! Football gets my heart racing and my blood pumping with adrenaline. You’ll find me in front of the TV or occasionally at the game during NFL season where I am so engaged that I should be a sideline commentator. I live and breathe this sport like it’s my religion.

While I have been stalking Sosie Frost’s hot covers and drooling over the accompanying book synopses for her football series for many weeks, I had not met one book by this author until now. Until Happily Ever All-Star hit my kindle and I was lost to this football romance. Before I dove in, I could not help but shoot a few eyegasms at the cover because I’m a football fangirl and football players are hot.

Because 7 points = a touchdown (counting that extra point of course)….

REASON #1 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: FOOTBALL.

“I don’t bother romance. Football is my only desire.”

There is something so special and sweet about a friends-to-lovers romance. The history, friendship, and realization that there is more make me swoon so much. Throw football into the mix and it makes for one touchdown of a story! A fun and flirty friends-to-lovers meets football romance, Happily Ever All-Star is a touchdown of a tale that’s full of heat and heart.

REASON #2 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS ROMANCE.

“God, she was absolutely stunning…But it didn’t matter. One thing hadn’t changed. She was my best friend’s little sister.”

Dark and beautiful, Aurora ‘Rory’ is the neurologist for the Ironfield Rivets. Rory’s newest patient is the blue-eyed, golden-haired, tall, and very fit football player, Jude Owens. Jude also happens to be her step-brother’s best friend. The best friend who has been her secret crush for a lifetime.

REASON #3 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: SURPRISE PREGNANCY.

The heroine in this book doesn’t get pregnant at the end. She is already with child. I loved the unexpected surprise!

REASON #4 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: PRETEND BOYFRIEND

Rory Jude is the father of Rory’s unborn baby. Or at least that’s what the world thinks. The real-life knight in shining armor, Jude, rescues the reputation of his princess by pretending to be her baby daddy to the public. In turn, Rory will protect his football career.

“Our love has to make Romeo and Juliet look like idiot teenagers.”

REASON #5 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: HOT & HUMOROUS

Happily Ever All-Star brought its A game in heat and humor. I laughed and lusted at the lines that made me blush and blurt out with giggles like these.

“Until this point, the pregnancy cravings hadn’t extended beyond orange juice and chocolate. Now I wanted something different.”

“A meat popsicle.”
“A lick of his loins.”
“A peck of his pecker.”
“Maybe a cheeseburger too.”

REASON #6 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: CHEMISTRY COLLISION

The chemistry is combustible. A collision of current that can’t be broken. One that is a higher power than friendship, more akin to fate. Rory and Jude can’t ignore the feelings that flow when they are near each other making the fake relationship feel real. Though to make it real, they have to at least test the waters with a kiss and oh what a kiss it was.

“We touched. We kissed. We groaned within comfort of each other’s lips as desire tangled us tighter than our embrace. This wasn’t passion—it was freedom. Permission. A moment of weakness that hid us from our own thoughts and fears and regrets.”

I spun in a sea of swoon as I rooted for love to win the game. I wanted love to burst through the friendship defensive line and make a touchdown.

REASON #7 WHY YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK: PLOT OF PERFECTION

You have to love a twist on the friends-to-lovers romance where the heroine is pregnant at the beginning instead of the end. A story where the hero is really a huge hero—one that will do anything for his friend who is quickly becoming more. A story where lines are blurred to where they cross many times.

“I couldn’t have a fake relationship with Jude. Not when everything already felt so real.”

For Jude, Rory is not a distraction but a reason to fight for the game. Fight for him as injuries keep mounting up and may pave the way to the end. Fight for the possibility of more. Though before the players have even warmed up, trust may be the penalty that stops the game for good.

Lines and blurred. Friends hover into lovers’ territory. The football game and season are on the line while two hearts are as well.

“I knew how to win a football game, but scoring with Rory? It wasn’t just a bad idea; it was the wrong game to play.”

Sweet, sexy, and spellbinding, Happily Ever All-Star packs heat and heart into a touchdown of a tender tale. This story is the perfect second-chance romance for the sports junkie. I was in the stands cheering for the Ironside Rivets, I was in the locker room listening to the team pep talks, and I was on the field chasing the ball with the players as feels were flying. I was in this game for the win.

Happily Ever All-Star is a fierce and flirty football romance that oozes spice and sweetness, an all-star story indeed. I could not help but cheer for love to win the game. This raw and rousing romance is fresh, flirty, and fabulous and I was glued to this sensational sports story like my favorite team playing football. I loved this refreshing read and now I need to date the rest of Sosie Frost’s books.

Can you fake a happily-ever-after?

Veteran running back Jude Owens is one of the best and most respected players in the league. A brutal concussion nearly ended his career, but Jude refuses to retire without earning the ultimate honor—a championship.

But first, he needs me to clear him to play. As the Ironfield Rivets’ neurologist, I usually treat bad boy quarterbacks and beastly linebackers. I can’t be impartial when my lifelong crush hops onto the exam table. Not only is Jude gorgeous and a gentleman, he’s my brother’s best friend…and the father of my unborn baby.

Or so everyone thinks.

Jude offers to pose as my boyfriend and the baby’s father to save my reputation. In return, he needs my help to stay on the field. The pretend romance keeps me close enough to take care of him, but I can’t protect my heart. Our stolen kisses and nightly indiscretions make this fake relationship feel so very real.

I can’t complicate our arrangement by falling in love, especially as Jude’s obsession with football blinds him to everything but the game. When his symptoms worsen, the only way I can protect him may be to sit him on the sidelines. But ending his career will ruin our Once Upon A Time.

It’s up to me to save my prince charming.
Even if it means I lose my happily-ever-after.
