Just Like That by Nicola Rendell

*praise hands* ← totally the position I’m in. Because after finishing Just Like That, bar getting down on my knees in front of Nicola and thanking her for writing this book, which can’t happen since we have an ocean separating us, the praise hands will have to do. I’m IN AWE guys. Just Like That is Nicola’s best book to date. Her best writing. Her best story. Her best characters. Everything. THE BEST. I just. GAH! This book is raw, captivating, utterly addictive and just full of feels and swoon.

A signature sign, I’ve come to realise, when reading Nicola’s work, is how funny she is. That easy, laid back kinda funny. That funny, that’s relatable and sincere. That funny that leaves you breathless because a one liner hits at the most PERFECT time. Or that crazy situation the characters find themselves in, is so true to life it makes you howl. Literally, SO many times in this book I laughed out loud or lost it with uncontrollable giggles. Everything was just so infectious, a book that can make you smile as big as I did while reading is a total winner!!!

The real winners of this book though have to be Russ and Penny. First off. HOLY HOT DAMN. Nicola writes her scenes so, SO, well. With just the perfect amount of heat and passion, the connection between Russ and Penny was other worldly.

Secondly, Penny! Omg, what a darling. LITERALLY. She was so cute, sassy, adorable and hilarious!

Thirdly, last but not least, RUSS MACKLIN. OH MY GOSH! This man. Where can I find one. Honestly? Because he was freaking PER-FECT. I just, don’t have the right words to describe him. I mean, he’s really spectacular. An Intense, hot, dirty ALPHA. But also a gentlemen. And SWOON should be his middle name because it’s all I did over him. I just couldn’t get enough.
I actually never wanted this book to end. Ever. This is romantic comedy at its finest people. Littered with just the right amount of emotion to add that extra little spark to the characters and the depth to the story. I’m amazed at how Nicola’s writing just goes from strength to strength. Amazed at it all.

“I still don’t understand why you have those vulgar cocktail names.”
I raised my eyebrow. I knew her bar was called Dirty, but I thought that was just because she could make a mean martini.

“You have a cocktail called The Slutwhisperer?” I asked her, hiding my smile behind my glass of water. “Where did you come up with that?”

She tapped her finger against her temple and reached for her own water. “That’s probably one of the best names. Although, some of the others are pretty epic.”

“Now, I feel the need to come and find them out.”

“Imagine my bar is a church and you’re a demon,” she said. “I’ll be holding the matches.”

“She isn’t kidding,” Ryan muttered.

“Do you still do that screwdriver twist one?” Their grandpa asked.

“Reg,” Alexandra groaned.

“You know the one,” he continued, oblivious to her discomfort. “With the orange juice.”

Raven cleared her throat and looked down at the table. “You mean the Dirty Screw, Grandpa.”

“Yes!” He thumped the table with his fist. “I’m coming for breakfast. I need a Dirty Screw.”

When you begin a Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland collaboration you should totally ensure that you have NOTHING to do. Nothing to disturb you. Because these two have an uncanny way of dragging readers SO, SO deep into a story and NEVER LETTING GO.

Since the very first collaboration “Cocky Bastard” I have loved Penelope and Vi working together. Each and every book they release always lands itself as a top favourite of mine. I get swept away, literally transported to another world. A world where I can just laugh out loud, swoon, feel and love.

With Mister Moneybags I pretty much fell in love by 10%. I mean you can forget butterflies. I had bald eagles take flight in my tummy!! I’m talking BAT SHIT CRAZY bald eagles. The kind that cause the BEST tummy fizzles and flips. I was easily captivated, my heart pounded and my skin tingled. Everything in me lit up and I knew I was reading a WINNER.

Oh, this series just gets better with each book! Who would have thought that the men of the Canadian government could be this breathtaking?

From the moment we met Lachlan in Prime Minister, he was a mystery. It was obvious that he had demons that he was fighting and those demons were holding him back from the one person that he desperately wanted – Beth. Still, he was the protector and keeper of secrets, including the kinky ones. Beth sees it, too, and she wants him just as much. There’s nothing like being sent to the friend zone over and over even when the eyes and body of the man she wants tell a different story.

But in walks the game changer and his name is Hugh. Fucking Hugh. He and Lachlan have a history, a connection that they both regret was severed. The steam in this relationship could power a city block and almost burned a hole through my kindle. Mercy!

Ainsley and Sadie, you ladies are one talented duo! Sexy and so steamy, yet truly romantic. I so enjoyed this trip to Canada. All the feels and all the tingles, too! FANTASTIC!

I stand there and take it. My hands hang loose at my sides.

When Lachlan’s fingers brush mine, his right hand reaching back and finding me blindly, I’m not sure it’s deliberate at first. He still has his gaze locked on Beth, but with his second touch, he hooks my hand and tugs me around his body. As I move, not giving him an inch of space, he squeezes my hand, his knuckles rubbing against my erection. And when I get to Beth, he switches hands and pulls me right against her back.

Holy hell!!! I said I was desperate to read Lennon’s book after meeting her in The Bartender & The Boxer but NEVER did I expect what I actually got.

Lennon is incredible. Her story is INCREDIBLE! I loved every single second!

Lennon became my favourite back in The Bartender. Her sass and way of life, so free, was refreshing. She’s hilarious, wicked and witty. And she’s hot, oozing confidence. I’m not afraid to say I crushed on Lennon. LOL. Loved her. What was so fun and interesting to see was how Lennon met her one. Piper Rayne wrote this so, so well. Making it fun, sexy and totally believable. And who is the fine man who sweeps our Lennon off her feet?

Ladies! His name is Jasper and he’s AMAZING! From the off, the minute Jasper set his eyes on Lennon. I felt it. These two are sparks and light and intense heat. They are raw, intense, passionate and it oozes from the pages. Jasper is a world of his own people. It was always going to take something special for Lennon to fall but with Jasper, personally I think Piper Rayne nailed it.
Like Lennon and Jasper, I was swept of my feet. Held thoroughly captivated by words that made one hell of a story!

The Banker is my FAVE of this series of standalones! A total winner in my bookish eyes. 5 EPICALLY AWESOME STARS.

Using my stealthy P.I. moves, I narrowed my search to a time and place where I knew I could find him. It was completely innocent. A chance meeting that would give me the opportunity to pitch my business.

It wasn’t until I sat down across from the gorgeous panty soaking man in front of me, that I realized I wanted so much more than just his money. I could very well want his heart if I wasn’t careful.

Apparently my P.I. skills aren’t as stellar as I thought because Jasper had his own secret—and it changed EVERYTHING.

Review – If You Fight by K. M. Scott

If You Fight by K. M. Scott

If You Fight continues Ryder and Serena’s intense, suspenseful, roller coaster relationship.

It’s hard to review this book because it’s the second instalment and it answers questions from book 1 as well as setting up book 3. So I won’t discuss the book in too much detail.

What I will say is that KM kept up the addictive nature that sparked and held my interest from book one. She maintained the breathtaking heat and love between Ryder and Serena and made me even more attached to them. My heart broke for them and healed and broke all over again.

KM well and truly holds all my attention and emotions in the palm of her hand and I cannot wait to see how it all ends in book three!!

OH MY HEART! My happy, singing heart, so full of FEELINGS and all the bookish things we dream of. DAMN YOU M for OWNING ME with Own It. I’m ruined. Completely ruined over your BEST BOOK YET! My new M Dauphin FAVE!!!

Own It was a quick read. Easily devoured in 3 hours.. I was ADDICTED. HIGH off magical words and epic emotions and everything in between. M has TOTALLY nailed everything in this book. From the first chapter that smacks you in the feels and grips on SO, SO TIGHT. To the simmering, intense connection between the lead characters that just steals your heart and soul. To the secondary characters that add into the story and aid the flow. To a story line that wasn’t littered with unnecessary drama, but focused on two people, both different, both suffering, both searching. All of it, totally perfect. Just breathtaking. Jett & Lo have ALL OF ME.

Jett Voss. My current obsession. LORD THIS MAN. I want one. Like now! I don’t know how M writes men the way she does but they work themselves straight into your heart and just wreck you. In the BEST POSSIBLE WAY. I’m just. GAH! *floats from the swoon*

His and Lo’s relationship was written flawlessly. They were just right. You know? Like I could just feel it and I just knew the relationship was going to give me those epic tummy flutters and it did. Multiple times. And by golly THEY ARE HOT. BURNING HOT! Just EVERYTHING.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Own It, owns me. It’s M’s best book yet and my ultimate fave of hers!!

You know what sucks? Cancer. Cancer sucks.

Especially when it takes a young life. Like the life of my five year old son. You want to know what I have to say about that? Nothing. Absolutely nothing because I don’t have the drive anymore. There’s nothing left in me except emptiness. That much is obvious. I’ve lost my car, my career, and my apartment. At least I have my brother. Actually, I just have a place to stay because of my rich, single brother.

I’m struggling to find purpose again. After what life’s shown me it can do to a person, I really don’t care if I’m breathing anymore.

I am, but barely.

Then Jett Voss showed up and it’s like he’s an oxygen mask I don’t need or want.

She’s got no cares left in the world and I’m determined to resuscitate her heart.

It was a one-night stand that connected us. She only had one want that night, and I took care of it. I’m not stopping there though. I may have not known her before her heartbreak, but I know there’s life inside of her still.

I will find it.

That means I need to stick around town for a while. I guess I don’t have many other options. I’ve just been forced to run a company I never wanted and I’m a little bitter about it. The circumstances of why this fell into my lap makes it the hardest. Death is a cruel reality. My bike shop, occasionally the open road, not answering to anyone… this is the life I was living and wanted.

Breaking Gravity by Autumn Grey

EMOTIONALLY ENTHRALLING.

Two words to describe the experience I’ve had while reading Breaking Gravity by Autumn Grey. This book, took my breath away, took my heart captive and stole a part of my soul without even trying. All of it, from beginning to end was just FLAWLESS.

This student/teacher romance was EVERYTHING it needed to be and yet so much more.. Breaking Gravity started off slow, building intensity with passion fuelled dislike and two broken, battered souls. Gradually as things became more between our two beautifully broken characters so did the power and rawness in words that captivated and consumed. Conquering my whole being.

I was hypnotized. Completely and utterly addicted to the way Autumn made me feel. I LOST MY MIND over the way everything came together. The butterflies in my stomach couldn’t control their wings and my heart wouldn’t slow down. Everything drew me in, everything worked. The mesh of emotions that plagued me while reading we’re so freaking intense. I felt the scorching heat and love between our characters, I felt the guilt and damaged parts of them, I felt their happiness and sadness, their joy and pain. I felt it ALL. Autumn Grey has penned an absolute masterpiece with Breaking Gravity.

Breaking Gravity left me spellbound. Lost in a sea of breathtaking feels. This epic journey of two lost, broken souls finding love, closure and happiness has stolen a part of me that I’ll happily never give back!

I’ve always followed my dreams with ruthless determination.

My life was going well. Success was at my fingertips.

Until it wasn’t.

Review – I Just Want You by Kaylee Ryan

I Just Want You by Kaylee Ryan

I’m going to start this review by saying I devoured I Just Want You in half a day.

I’m also going to say, I think this is Kaylee’s best book yet!

I also must say that I absolutely LOVED IT.

I Just Want You is a sexy, steamy romance full of sweetness and swoon.

One thing Kaylee nails in all of her books are her hero’s. Kaylee writes ALPHA so, so well. Alphas that know what they want, go after it and don’t care who knows. Alphas that make their claim from the start and see it through. Alphas that are POSSESSIVE, PROTECTIVE and OBSESSIVE yet RESPECTFUL and LOVING. Kaylee nails all that and more. In I Just Want You, Kaylee’s hero Crew was sheer perfection.

Crew’s relationship with Berklee was written brilliantly. I felt all of their simmering tension, heart pounding lust and then their intense, passionate love.

I love that this whole book wasn’t littered with unnecessary drama and mainly focused on the relationship between Crew and Berklee. Even the latter part of the book and the issues the couple face, fit really well and were written in a great way that allowed the story to maintain its flow and beauty.

I Just Want You is CRAZY HOT. Utterly addictive, sweet and sexy! A MUST READ!
