Racer by Katy Evans

My rating: 6 of 5 stars

You’ve got to be closer to the edge than ever to win. That means sometimes you go over the edge, and I don’t mean driving, either.
~Dale Earnhardt

When I turned the last page of Legend, I bawled my eyes out. Tears of sorrow fell for this top 2016 read and the end of the all-time favorite Real series. Then the incredible Katy Evans blessed readers with another book and Racer was born. Oh did Racer stay true to the beloved Real series. I still can’t get over this BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFUL BOOK!!!

Here I sit, days after reading the final story in Katy Evans’ riveting Real series, SO SMITTEN, still flying from the FEEL-GOOD ROMANCE called Racer.  Racer did not even have to hijack my heart; I willingly surrendered it to this SPELLBINDING STORY. This love story lifted me up to Cloud Nine where I floated on air in the best book haze, still SWOONING long after the last page. My heart continues to spin around the track, still stuck in this story that STOLE EVERY PART OF ME. Racer is POTENT PASSION mixed with COMBUSTIBLE CHEMISTRY spiked with ADDICTING ADRENALINE woven with FOREVER LOVE. I didn’t have to read this story to already know that I would love it…love him, Remy’s boy, Racer. I COULDN’T LOVE RACER ENOUGH!!!

From the minute I dove into this book, Racer was my DRUG and I couldn’t get enough of this FIX. This is a tale that twists around you where you’re fully immersed and HIGHLY INTOXICATED. This romance is a HOT, HEADY, and HEARTFELT HIT STRAIGHT TO THE CORE. I DEVOURED this tale like a hungry lioness, eating every page alive. Every page of Racer made me FEEL ALIVE. Every page buzzes with energy. Every page burns with smoldering heat. Every page combusts with chemistry. Every page is everything. Racer is EVERYTHING!!!

The moment I got that pedal, I’m alive … drunk with it.

Katy Evans paints a vivid picture of Racer, transporting the reader to the Formula One track, where the heart will race, feeling right along with these characters who are family. This romance is so RAW that Racer felt REAL. I lived and breathed these characters that came to life before my eyes.

Racer, oh Racer, where do I start?!? This racing god is fire-hot and fearless. Racer is so sexy … so stunning … so alpha … so male … so WOW!!! The gorgeous son of Remy with dark hair and sea-blue eyes channels his father but Racer shines bright in his own spotlight. I was helpless to his spell. It was INSTANT LOVE! Racer had my heart from the start. Racer owned every ounce of me. This man is PURE PERFECTION!

A beautiful gal crashes into Racer’s life, an addiction he never saw coming.

I’m Racer Tate and this girl is mine.

I could not get enough of this delicious man!!! Racer exudes sex and smolder but sweetness too. I MELTED at his touch through his dominant words.

Lana, the honey-blonde beauty, oh how I ADORED HER. She grew up around men and is as bold and brilliantly as she is beautiful. I admired this heroine’s drive, determination, and devotion to her family. Lana is powerless to stop the force named Racer.

“Do you do that on purpose?”

“What?”

“Stare at my like that.”

He stares at me like a predator—quiet. Waiting.

Racer is the predator and Lana’s the prey. GAH. I the prey too.

I’m trapped—helplessly and totally—in Racer Tate’s irresistible fire.

Racer and Lana are the perfect match! Their chemistry is ELECTRIC, a strong force felt through the pages.

“I want to lick you up head to toe until I’ve tasted every inch of you, and then I want to do it again.”

Oh. My. HOT!!! Racer’s hot mouth heated me, blazing me where my body was on fire. My thighs could not help but clench. Racer’s sinfully sexy spell bound me to him where I was helpless to let go. I couldn’t SOAK IN THESE SEDUCTIVE WORDS enough.

Racer and Lana are MAGICAL together, and I was mesmerized by this magnetic couple. Their relationship is full of fire fueled by love. I LOVED them both so much!

Can you love someone so hard that every part of you feels it?

I FELT these words clutch me … caress me … captivate me … CONSUME me! I felt this story course through me. I felt the tears as the story struck my soul. I felt heartbreak. I felt hope. I felt happiness. I FELT ALL THE FEELS. I WAS FLOATING IN FEELS THE WHOLE STORY!!!

“You’re so screwed,” I rasp in her ear. I’m going to ruin you for everyone else your whole life.”

“I’m counting on it,” she breathes.

Oh SWEET SIGH. Racer has RUINED me in the best way as this romance OWNS ME!!! Racer has this UNPARALLELED INTENSITY that made me inhale every word as if it were my last breath. This book BUZZES with enticing energy where I was rendered BREATHLESS. Racer is as sweet and swoony as it is hot and heartfelt. I never thought I’d love Racer like Remy, but I loved him even more—a lethal mix of tough and tender for one incredible alpha! I LOVED IT ALL!!! Racer is HOT, HEADY, and so full of HEART that I MELTED while reading. I was a GONER!!!

GAH!!! What did you do to me, Katy Evans?!? I’m still trying to come off the HIGH I chased and raced called Racer! The perfect complement and conclusion to the Real series, Racer is a story that STAYS FOREVER!!! I still FEEL this thrilling and tender tale coursing through me. Passionate … potent … powerful … Racer is HEART-POUNDING PERFECTION, the perfect end to the Real series! Racer is a ROMANTIC RUSH I want to feel forever.

“Tell me you want me, all of me.”

There aren’t enough stars for this story and series…a new TOP 2017 READ!!!! RACER is simply IRRESISTIBLE!!!

Racer, an all-new standalone in the Real Series from New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans is LIVE!!!

A bad boy with something to prove.

A woman with a mission.

The race of their lives.

The love of a lifetime.

I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep…

but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss….

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation…or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.

I’m still reeling. While people approach him, he cuts a path straight to me, his gaze penetrating and target-like; making me want to bolt.

His lips do that little upward tilt they do that seems so sexy, and for a second, I feel like I’m lightheaded.

I gulp, and then feel mad at myself for acting like some idiot as fucking devil-Racer Tate reaches me, throws himself into a seat next to me, and turns to look at me expectantly with the most gorgeous grin on his face.

I don’t know what to say.

This guy has left me sort of speechless.

“So … ” I say, staring in the distance at his beat-up mustang, then at him.

“So … ” he says too, in his deep voice, his smile a little more wicked than it was two seconds ago. He glances at my mouth.

Oh god.

Why am I licking my lips?

It only made his eyes narrow and darken.

I open my mouth to speak, failing to find words. He smells like sweat and soap and shampoo, and I feel my traitorous nipples push up to my top again. Why do they do that when he’s around?

“This is illegal,” I state.

His voice is husky from exertion, and his eyes glint with laughter. “That’s why it’s fun.”

I look away from his eyes, trying to focus and clear my head. He leans over and peers into my face, his face shadowed by the moonlight and his jaw now carrying a little scruff. “Are we in agreement?” he presses.

“No.” I glare and shake my head, meeting his cocky gaze. “You’re reckless, Racer.”

“So are you, Alana.”

“It’s just … Lana.”

His brows fly up in surprise. “And a bit of a liar too.”

I purse my lips, still glaring as my gaze goes back to his car. Girls are rubbing against it as if it were him, and I find it disgusting. Why are women always acting so slutty around race car drivers and bad boys?

“You crashed your car,” I say flippantly.

“You crashed my car,” he contradicts, amused.

I laugh, then scowl in his direction. “You crashed it more. I can’t believe you were making such a fuss about me crashing into you when it was just a little kiss—”

He leans in to peck my lips—fast but firmly. “That’s a kiss.”

I lose my breath.

My eyes wide.

He eases back, lips smiling as he comes to his feet and stretches his hand out to take me by the elbow and help me to my feet.

“Let’s get out of here.” He starts walking, leading the way.

“And go where?”

“Anywhere I can get my hands on you.”
