Review – Monday by EL Todd

An all-consuming, angst-ridden, and awe-inspiring friends-to-lovers romance, Monday grabs you fiercely and never lets go. Engaging. Emotional. Evocative. Monday brings enough feels to last until Sunday and more.

I decided to read Monday, my first story by EL Todd, blindly—something I’ve never done before. No synopsis. No clue about the story except for the hot guy and pretty gal on the cover. A few pages in and I was captivated, caught in the raw and riveting writing of this author that was quickly casting a spell on me. Hook. Line. Sinker.

Beautiful, smart, and sassy Francesca with her dark hair and sea green eyes meets a gorgeous and intense man in a bakery one day where she works that changes her life.

Hawke. Dark hair. Blue eyes. Tall. Muscular. Inked. Player galore. And oh so a predator. I want to be his prey.

It’s an insta-attraction. A magnetism that pulls with a force like a hurricane. On their first date, their kiss ignites fireworks and was the best either of them had.

“We were two poles carrying the same wire. Electricity ran between us, and once the touch was severed, so was the energy.”

That powerful kiss left them both panting and wanting more. Though Hawke becomes scared of what it could lead too, and plays the dreaded friend card.

“I really like you but I’m not the man you want…the kind that isn’t good enough for you.”

Ouch. That burns. My heart starts to crack for Hawke’s low self-worth. Once Hawke discovers Francesca is his best friend’s little sister, friends it is. Francesca is off limits. Forbidden. Despite both of them wanting…needing more. Despite destiny that brought them together.

“I know it sounds crazy but…I feel like our paths were meant to cross.”

So these friends morph into soul mates in every way…sans sex. Hawke and Francesca’s friends-only status is tested when Francesca has to stay with Hawke for a week due to apartment maintenance. The flirting is fierce. Oh is Hawke a delicious and devilish dirty talker.

“You packed lots of panties, right? Because I want to see them on that beautiful ass of yours.“

Friends…yeah, right.

“Come on, take a peek. He’s excited to see you.”

Smile. Scorch. Repeat.

This is a couple who needs to realize they are destined to be together. You can’t fight fate as fate always wins.

“I wanted him, but in a way I couldn’t explain. I detected pain emanating from every part of his body. It was like a high-pitched song only I could hear.”

These beautiful words shot arrows straight to my heart. Francesca is the light to Hawke’s dark. The high to his lows. The angel to his devil.

“You have the most beautiful soul.”

“No. That’s your soul you’re seeing—inside of me.”

You go through life looking for a soul mate. Your friend. Your lover. Your more. Francesca and Hawke are each other’s other half. Two halves joined as a whole who are meant to be joined forever.

“We were molding into a single person, one entity.”

Francesca beams light into Hawke’s dark life. However, a dark childhood filled with abuse has made Hawke mark himself a monster when Francesca only sees a loving man. He is torn, and so lost that he may never be found. Those demons that he tries to keep buried swim up to the surface, whirling around like a hurricane, threaten to destroy everything.

“Like a ghost, he vanished from my life.”

Gah! This cliffhanger left me gasping for air. Monday is heartfelt and hypnotizing where I was glued to the pages. Every. Step. Of. The. Way. Pure beauty in words. I want more. Need more. Tuesday needs to happen soon to erase this Monday hangover.

Review – Stout by Georgia Cates

Stout, is the sensational second instalment of the Lovibond Series from Georgia Cates.
Stout aka Oliver Thorne originally popped up in Tap and I kind of did a little jump and squeal when Stout landed on my kindle. I honestly couldn’t wait to dive into him.
Oliver Thorne is a super sexy, oh so hot, beautifully broken male that stole my heart. His relationship with Adelyn was unique. I really enjoyed how Georgia wrote these two and how their pasts influenced their futures, and their love for each other.
I loved how Oliver, obviously quite the alpha was turned into an even bigger alpha through the duration of the book, his underlying issues over dominance soon faded the deeper he falls with Adelyn. And holy moly does he make one hell of a BBF. I found myself fanning myself regularly. The thick sexual tension and intense flirtation between Oliver and Adelyn was hotter than a house on fire.
Have to say, I loved reading Adelyn too. She was so fierce. So strong. Despite her past. I connected to her 100%.

Once again Georgia plays all her cards and tells one hell of a story. Consuming me from start to finish. I’m super excited to read Porter’s story next.

Review – The Ending I Want by Samantha Towle

Once again Samantha Towle has delivered a knock out read that left my heart a humming vessel, my lungs a little breathless and my soul soaring.

The Ending I Want is stunning, a beautiful story of love, loss, pain, sadness and happiness all rolled into a beautifully crafted package.

As soon as I started The Ending I want, I knew that I was about to read another great book. All of Samantha’s books have been world class for me. And this one was no different. From the start we are swept away on a electrifying adventure of raw lust and oh so hot sex!
Liam Hunter is a walking, talking orgasm, waiting to happen. Hot, loaded and BRITISH! His swoony, dirty talking self swept me off my feet, melting my heart and knickers from the moment he started the list!
The sizzling chemistry between Liam and Taylor is brighter than the biggest firework. Reading them made me tingle from head to toe, feeling a little giddy about where there story would take me.

Of course, the underlying health issue Taylor has, is always there and threatens everything, but what I loved was how Samantha wrote the book, touching on so many good points between Taylor and Liam, that when it did blow up, it was like a sucker punch to the gut. Devastating. I wanted to cry and scream at them, for them, with them. The feels I got were explosive.

Whenever I pick up a Samantha Towle book I know I’m going to read something I’ll love. I’m yet to find a Towle book that doesn’t fit with me and that I don’t enjoy. I especially loved how Samantha featured previous heroes from her other books, I think I got as giddy as Taylor did!

Review – Dirty Little Rendezvous by Emma Hart

Bloody Brilliant!

Dirty Little Rendezvous is an utterly delicious, seductively sweet and oh so hot read. Once I lost myself in the world of Burke and Masters, I was in HEAVEN. This whole book is bloody sensational.

So not only do we get ALL of the Burke brothers in Leila’s story (BONUS), we also get a SUPER HOT, BRITISH SINGER, with TATTOOS, who’s BRITISH and has MUSCLES. He’s FUNNY, he’s FRESH, he has MUSCLES, wait did I say that already? Lord, I praise all things Jase Masters!! He’s ran away with everything he could possibly own in me!! And I don’t want it back!!

As a Brit myself, Emma setting this book in Paris & London and having places I could relate too, was a winner before I even started. My connection to this story was THROUGH THE ROOF. I literally inhaled every word and freaking LOVED every second of it. I was not only consumed, devoured, by the sexiness and the humour Emma pours into her words but also the solid beauty and oh so swoony parts that fill this story making it so electric, I felt like I had fire running through my body all the way through.

I’m so glad that Emma gave Leila a book. The spunky, sassy sister of the Burke brothers became a part of me when I read the previous stories. She was everything you wanted in a secondary character. Intriguing. Funny. Loveable. And her own story DOES NOT disappoint, in fact it’s BETTER than I could have ever imagined. Leila Burke is a top heroine of mine. She’s EVERYTHING I want to read in a female character. She makes me want to be her. Her reaction to British words was priceless and written brilliantly. The whole thing was utter beautiful perfection.

Overall, I think I’ve read Emma’s best book yet, and her other books are chuffing OUTSTANDING!! So you know, this kind of pushes an already high bar even higher. Still, the morning after I’m drowning in a sea of emotional, swoony feels. I don’t want to pick up another book, I don’t want to lose the happiness these two embedded in me.
I’m sad it’s all over, I cried at the epilogue, literally. The little twist Emma adds in was like the icing on the cake.
I hate rating this book 5 stars as it’s worth so much more.
I will forever love the HOT, TATTED, MUSCLED singers and their FRESH , SASSY and STRONG leading ladies that make up the Burke’s and the Master’s.

And if that’s not enough. We get LOTS more Mila!!!!

Dual Review – You Don’t Own Me 1 & 2 by Georgia le Carre

Wow! What a powerfully intoxicating, grip your heart, sexy read! This is the second and final installment to The Russian Dom series by Georgia le Carre and she did not disappoint! She blew me away with this conclusion of Zane and Dahlia’s story.

This story continues right where it left off. Dahlia has just found out some unsettling news about Zane, but after talking it out with Olga, she calms down a bit. She starts to see his side of things….where he was coming from.

In this story you get to see these characters relationship bloom and grow into something strong and beautiful.

You get to look in to Zane’s past. See what it was like, where he came from, and why he is the way he is today. His story is utterly heartbreaking and had me a snotty mess.

Dahlia stands by Zane and tries to show him that she loves him and she’ll be there for him. He begins slowly opening up more and more to Dahlia….but not much. He begins showing her he cares about her through his actions and little things he says.

“Do you know when your lips touch mine you make me feel like I am flying?”
His lips touch min. “Then, fly Dahlia. Fly as high as you can.”

She tries to show him that he can be more. Leave the mob world behind and do something greater. That he’s better than he believes he is. She’s a sneaky little bugger too, I’ll give her that! Ha!

Throughout this story you get to see a whole other side of Zane that we didn’t get to see in the first book. I didn’t think I could, but I did…..I fell more in love with Aleksandar Malenkov! *SWOONS* This.….this was absolutely the perfect conclusion to Zane and Dahlia’s story. I’m sad that it’s over. Le Carre took me on an emotional rollercoaster….my endorphins were out of whack! All over the place! …..and I won’t soon forget my Zane and Dahlia. I can’t wait for more from this author!

Georgia le Carre delivers a non-stop sizzling companionship between the sweet, loving Dahlia Fury and the cold, dominant Aleksander Malenkov (aka Zane). The length of this book isn’t very long, but man does it pack a punch! I.WAS.IN.IT. I couldn’t put it down!.

Dahila is a beautiful and smart girl living away from home in the UK. She lives with her best friend, Stella and works at a literary agency, reading through author submissions. She cares about her family and her friends. She’d do anything for them.

Zane is a ruthless, cold, brutal but sexy as hell mob boss. He doesn’t do relationships because he doesn’t want any weakness that can be exploited in his line of work. He beds women until he tires of them and then finds a new play thing.

Zane and Dahlia first meet when Stella has a double booking for a masseuse appointment. Stella begs her to go in her place to see Zane so she doesn’t lose his business. Dahlia reluctantly agrees. Zane knows right off that she’s not a masseuse and assumes (because she’s wearing Stella’s uniform and it’s tight and revealing) that she’s a prostitute. Things get hot and steamy quick!

…..but Dahlia doesn’t want him. She wants to stay as far away from him from now on. Sure he’s hotter than hades, but…….Stella also has a crush on him and she’s her best friend.

Zane wants her. He’ll do anything for her.

When Dahlia gets a phone call from her panicked mother about her sister possibly being missing, it sends her into a flurry of emotions. When she turns up empty handed, with no closer to finding out what’s going on, she turns to the one man she never thought she’d ask for help.

Zane.

Stella pushes her to go to Zane. Knowing he’s a mob boss and has more connections that the police. He will be able to get Dahlia answers faster…..breaking rules if he has to.

Zane agrees to help her, but nothing in this life comes free.

“I will help, but nothing is for free, rybka. If I give you something you want, then you must give me something I want.”
“What do you want from me?” I ask, my voice a whisper.
“You.”

This is where the story gets me fanning myself! Dahlia agrees to basically be his sexual submissive if he finds her sister. Which, he does, cause there would be a hot and steamy story otherwise!

While the sex in You Don’t Own me is without a doubt, insanely panty-dropping hot, I enjoyed these characters together immensely. I enjoyed watching sweet Dahlia chip away at the cold and calculating Zane’s rough exterior. You could see him falling for her throughout the story. You could see it in the way he wanted to protect her, even if it was from himself. He would say hurtful things to try to keep her at arms length. There is something holding him back and I can’t wait to find out what it is!

“I saw something in his eyes once. Just once, but it was enough for me to know ghosts blew through the deserted corridors of his soul like gusts of cold wind.”

This was my first read by Georgia le Carre and I was not disappointed! This book is a nail biting, edge of your seat experience. The cliffhanger left me breathless with all sorts of questions! I can’t wait for book two so I can see what le Carre has in store for these two!

Dahlia

I knew I should have listened to my inner voice. I should never have said yes to helping out my friend, but I did, and the Russian with the dangerous eyes shocked me by how easily he stirred outrageous desires in my body and made me lose complete control. I did the only thing I could. I walked (all right, I ran) away to the sound of his cheap parting shot, ‘you’ll be back when you need my help.’

But I haven’t been able to run away from him in my dreams. God knows I’ve tried. Then something unthinkable happens. My sister goes missing while on a backpacking trip, and the ruthless predator is the only one who can help.

Review – Assured by Kaylee Ryan

Holy Moly, this book is sensational!

Assured is the astounding next book in the Soul Serenade Series featuring the super swoony, oh so freaking hot Cole Hampton… I never thought I’d say this but he’s wayyy better than Kacen!

I have no idea where to start my review for Assured. From the first page I was in total bookworm bliss, knowing I was going to fall in love with another Kaylee creation. Each and every time Kaylee releases a new book, her writing gets stronger, her story lines get more addicting, her characters get more captivating. And Assured has all that and more. I have literally devoured this book and all that is Cole.

It has taken just under 3 hours for me to inhale every single word, every single spark of tension and every single tingle from an undeniably strong connection, between me and the characters and the characters themselves.

Assured, sizzles and pops, all the way though. While reading I got butterflies, that got bigger and bigger the further in I got. Cole & Stacy are perfect! So hot, so sweet, so EVERYTHING.

From the initial push and pull of searing hot tension to the swoony, blissful, heartwarming love that develops, this book takes you on the ride of your life. Add in the other Soul Serenade band members and a creepy bad guy and Assured will have you glued to the edge of your seat!

I am 100% in love with this book, in love with Cole. He’s topped my Kaylee Ryan creation list! This story has captivated me and totally blown me away. And it will you too.

Review: Karma by Nadine Nightingale

What a FUN read! I was so excited to read Karma because it’s PNR….which is my favorite genre! I haven’t gotten to read any in a while! Karma, is the first book in the Drag Me to Hell series and I can honestly say, I cannot wait for the next book! I enjoyed every second of this book!

Amanda Bishop is a snarky, hot, blonde, bombshell of a witch. With a snarky attitude and sense of humor, I couldn’t get enough of her! She lives life on the edge, never backing down….looking danger straight in the face and never backing down. She hides behind the façade, that she cares only for herself…..that she’s selfish. In truth, she doesn’t like to be viewed as weak or caring–especially by Alex. Amanda has the special gift of being able to read aura’s and the unique gift of visions. She makes a quick buck doing readings. Some people want the truth, others just want to be blissfully unaware and lied to.

“I might tell lies for a living, but I tend o see the truth when no one else does.”

Alex is a unbelievably, hot….I swear he’s a God…..hunter. He works for the FBI’s paranormal. He’s also Amanda’s ex-boyfriend. When circumstances that occur cause him to go looking for Amanda in hopes of her helping him, it’s not the most pleasant meeting.

“Take off the bitchy armor and the cocky attitude, and tell me what’s left, Manda?”
I trace his jaw with my index finger. “Firm boobs, nice ass, and an IQ higher than your Mustang’s mileage.”

They both claim to hate each other. It’s obvious that neither does….that they actually still care for one another. It’s in the little things they do in the midst of their constant teasing and arguing.

“No way. You won’t run again.”
“Again?” I snap. “When did I ever run from you, Alex?”
He pushes his fingers through my belt loop and pulls me closer. “You were running the second I laid eyes on you.”

“For a guy who claims he can shoot me in an instant, he wears a pretty depressing gray aura at the prospect of my final exit.”

It’s a constant back and forth between Alex and Manda. There’s so much sexual tension built up between them it feels like they’re going to explode! When they finally seem to be getting somewhere, even if it’s closure, something……ALWAYS…..happens to stop it. No doubt making them both even further sexually frustrated! Ha! I wanted to yell at the book and curse the “Karma” of those two!

Karma was unlike any other PNR book I have read before. It is part of a series, but it doesn’t leave you in a WTF cliffhanger, which I love! This book is unique in it’s own right. Nightingale did a fabulous job of delivering a well written, and well thought out story! I immensely enjoyed diving in to Amanda and Alex’s story……I didn’t want it to end. Karma is a fun, exciting, and phenomenal story that I can’t get enough of! I definitely can’t wait until the next installment.

Dual Review: Redesigning Fate & Resurrecting Her by AM Wilson

Love. Angst. Suspense. Resurrecting Her had it all and more! Whoa! What a phenomenal, mind blowing conclusion to Marlena and Elias story! Wilson outdid herself with this one! The torture that Marlee endured. The turmoil that Elias went through. It was all heartbreakingly and beautifully written.

This story picks up where Redesigning Fate left off. It begins with Marlee reading a passage from Travis’ journal and reminiscing about Travis, the man she once loved. About how he isn’t the man she thought he was…..and the type of man he’s turned in to.

“He wasn’t even remotely the man I knew. His past was a chaos of secrets and overgrown lies that years of perfecting deception had groomed. He was an illusion. And I had fallen for it since the first act.”

Marlee and Elias seem to finally be happy. After enduring so much in their short relationship already, they deserved it. There were times when Marlee tried to pull away from Elias, out of fear of rejection mostly. Elias stood steadfast and strong, unbreakable in his love for her. He wouldn’t give up without a fight.

“I’m not letting you go. You hear me? You can’t make me let go. Five minutes ago I got the best glimpse of my Marlee that I’ve had in a month. She’s in there, fighting. Don’t think I’ll ever give up on trying to resurrect you from the hell he left you in. You’re mine and until I’m no longer breathing, that’s not going to change.”

….SWOON! That, is one of my favorite lines in the whole book! I love Elias and his bad boy, dominate alpha male, but I adore the sweet, sensual, caring, protective side that Marlee brings out in him

…..but it’s always calm before the storm. And boy does the storm come blowing through like a hurricane in this book!

There are so many twists and turns! Threats were everywhere! They were on constant high alert. On the lookout for “G’s” mean and Travis. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, turning page after page! I.COULDN’T.PUT.IT.DOWN!

We get a glimpse in to the tragic life of Travis as a little boy. We come to understand why he is the way he is and why he does some of the things he does. His childhood is truly heartbreaking. I don’t feel for him as an adult. I feel for that little boy. The little boy who had to endure the pain of losing his mother so young. The pain of a little boy who was abused for being a kid. Pain for the man the monsters of his childhood turned him into.

Resurrecting Her was utterly phenomenal! Wilson took me on a emotional, suspense filled ride that I would be happy to jump on again! You don’t want to miss this EPIC conclusion to Marlee and Elia’s story! I can’t wait for Sin and Shel’s story, Unleashing Sin! It’s bound to be as magnificent as the rest!

Redesigning Fate was a phenomenal beginning to a series I’ve already fallen in love with! This book captured my attention from page one…..Wilson had me hook, line, and sinker. I couldn’t put it down!

This book kicks off with a bang, introducing us to Marlena and Travis. They’ve been in a 3 year relationship that is full of love in the beginning, but turns into an physicaly and emotionaly abusive one. Marlena has lived with so much heartbreak, people who “love” her walking away. All she wanted was someone to be there and not walk out on her…..and she found that in Travis.

The Heart by Kate Stewart is the sensationally stunning, sweet and oh so sexy new release in the Reluctant Romantics series.

I’ve very quickly fallen in love with Kate and her books. Kate’s stories evoke so much emotion. Each and every word is filled with tender love and passion that is wholly addicting. And once again Kate has produced a story that grabbed me by the heart and soul and has well and truly knocked me off my feet.
Rose, the hopeless romantic with the broken heart was first introduced to us in The Fall. She intrigued me, and after reading The Mind I loved her. Her heartache became my heartache, and I longed for her to find the romantic person she once was. If you’ve read The Mind, I’m sure you too have been left with a shattered heart, desperately seeking a happy ending. So imagine my joy when The Heart landed on my kindle. Knowing I was about to dive into one hell of an emotional roller coaster I got myself comfy and began.

From the start I was enchanted. Words played out before my eyes dancing a beautiful rhythm of sweet, slow burning angst. Feelings took hold of me and threatened to never let go. And I didn’t want them to. I lost myself in Rose and Jack.
From their first meeting sparks of electricity buzzed through me. My heart kickstarted and slowly but surely began to pull itself back together. I lived these characters. I breathed with them, for them – felt every pull, every spark, every heated, raw moment.

“You make it hard to breathe, Rose Whittaker.”

No, Jack Sawyer, YOU make it hard to breathe. This delicious, dirty yet sweet, sexy man literally ran away with my heart. From the get go, not only did he fix Rose. He fixed ME. I adored Grant. He was perfection, and I’ll admit I worried I’d find it hard to move on. But woah, baby! One look into Jack Sawyer, and I was gone. Literally DONE FOR. He was EVERYTHING and MORE. He has the words, the looks, the deliciously sinful moves. EVERYTHING.
The chemistry written between Jack and Rose is electric. It lit up every single part of me, pickling my skin, igniting my senses and leaving me in a burning ball of feels.

The Heart has emotionally strung me out. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. I’ve swooned so hard. I’ve burnt up hotter than a kettle. I’ve been fixed, broken then blissfully fixed again. I’ve loved. Unconditionally. Jack and Rose are IT for me. There were no clichés. Their story is as real and as raw as it gets. Kate exceeded all expectations, literally blowing them out the water producing something so stunningly epic, I now sit here drowning in complete blissful happiness.
