Co-dependent and clingy, Emily depends on others too much for her own happiness and it drives me crazy! Emily has faced tragedy after tragedy but is still a survivor, and I have to applaud her for being so strong.

Reeve Sallis is a gorgeous, tall, dark-haired and blue-eyed billionaire. Powerful. Passionate. Penetrating. Possessive. Predator. Reeve is a man of many layers. I love him. I loathe him. Reeve owns Emily. Reeve owns me.

Emily is reeling from Amber’s return. The best friend who was supposed to be dead. The one who is now in the middle of whatever it is that’s forming between Reeve and Emily. Emily is unsure where she stands and unnerved.

“I turned to the man who held her. Who moments ago was my man—now I wasn’t so sure.”

Turmoil thrusts throughout the story like a dragon breathing fire. My heart breaks for Emily whose relationship with Reeve is now compromised and more complicated than ever. Reeve let her get close and now that slow building trust may be for nothing. Emily is bathing in a bath of betrayal as Reeve realizes he was merely a pawn in her act of revenge.

Truths unfold as Emily and Reeve confess, leaving both disappointed. Deceived. Devastated.

Gah! These powerful and poignant words pull at my heartstrings. The feels flow HARD. Reeve is intense and incredible. I LOVE this complex but caring man. I can’t stop swooning. I don’t want to.

The chemistry burns hot like fire. So intense and intoxicating. I’m melting. My body is aflame. Reeve can just take me NOW.

Danger has pushed Reeve’s former and current loves under the same roof. While two is company, three is a crowd. Emily is ready to throw it all away. Concede and let Amber hold the cards….again.

What an incredible triumph Found is!

From the very first lines of the prologue to the heart warming and oh so satisfying ending, Tucker and Charlotte’s story is one of heartbreak, frustration, acceptance and love in its true form. I could not have been happier with this story. What an awesome ending to the Captive Hearts duet. I certainly felt unsure of how Tucker and Char’s story would end. They found love and forgiveness in Lost. But Found began in a way I had hoped would not but knew it had to….

Tucker has gone to prison.

The story begins three years after Tucker has gone to prison for kidnapping and robbery. Their love story has become even more sensationalized because Charlotte chose to marry her kidnapper. Now after three years of weekend visits and no real connection, Tucker and Charlotte must begin yet again to build a relationship. They both have their illusions, doubts, even hopes and dreams now that they can be together. But even the best laid plans have holes along the way.

There’s so much that has changed. There are so many adjustments to make. Life before prison was tough for Tucker. Life in prison was a struggle for survival, with Tucker bottling up all his feelings and never really showing his wife just how lost he was. Life after prison meant facing his failures and trying to find Tucker again, using his voice and being the man that his wife deserves. Charlotte has formed her own world while her husband has been away. She’s found her voice, her passion in her work, new friends that round out her world. Where does Tucker fit in all of that? Can he?

The physical has never been an issue with these two. They are drawn together like bees to honey. The white hot chemistry? Yeah, still there. The book is incredibly sexy but what is so captivating is watching Tucker and Charlotte fighting for what they have always wanted – each other. This is the story of two tortured souls finding strength and faith in themselves first, dealing with the demons that stalked them, stripping away the fantasy and truly coming back better than they dreamt possible. It was a privilege to see that happen. The road back to their HEA was definitely not a smooth, easy ride. But what an awesome HEA it was! I laughed, cheered, cried and swooned so much. What a fantastic ending for a couple that has become one of my favorites!

Well done, Carrie! This duet is your best work yet! Amazing!

Review – Lost by Carrie Aarons

I’m a little at a loss for words. This was definitely a story that made me feel so many things… disappointment, angry, loss. This book is unlike anything that I have read from Carrie or truly any thing that I have read in a long time. To see a character take such a drastic and dramatic turn in his life, from being on top of the world and having everything – to falling so hard and so fast and having nothing. It was stunning, thought provoking and on more than one occassion, Tucker absolutely broke my heart.

From golden boy to simply struggling to survive. And it was a hard thing to watch.

Charlotte has her own issues, her own insecurities. Her own thoughts and wishes kept quiet. Trying to live up to the image her overbearing bitch of a mother has set in place for her since childhood. She and Tucker had been neighbors as children. He never noticed her, but she always sees him. Always wanted him. And then one day, he noticed her. But he never had the guts to acknowledge her. He destroys her. But she can never let him go.

It seemed fate found a way to bring these two back together in a way neither one of them expected, giving them the second chance to heal old hurts, mend broken fences and experience love the way it was meant to be experienced – openly, joyfully and with complete abandon… knowing that reality would soon be at their doorstep. The magic and chemistry between Tucker and Charlotte didn’t dim because they had been apart. If anything time, distance and chaos only made their feelings deeper. Watching them rebuild their unstable relationship, it got very easy to root for them. But reality was ugly.

I’m still stunned at the ending. I’m still reeling from intensity of emotions. I feel like I rode the craziest rollercoaster and I’m still tilting. It was simply one of the most complex, sensual and emotional charged stories from one of the most talented authors that I am fortunate to know. If anything this story from Carrie shows that she is not afraid to go outside of her comfort zones to produce a book that bucks the trends. It’s gritty, honest and it hurts. It’s bold, brash and brave. Great job, Carrie. Truly great job.

I have been a fan of Keri Lake since I read Soul Avenged years and years ago! I love how she can turn dark and gritty into a beautiful, perfect love story. Backfire was no different and I immediately fell in love with the characters, the story, and the setting. Backfire was dark, gritty, romance perfection. Keri Lake weaves a story that is unapologetic with a beautiful darkness that will leave you breathless, on the edge of your seat, and begging for more and more. I. COULD. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN!

“Shit thing about life is, when you throw an immovable object into the path of a bullet, it doesn’t follow any laws or principles. It backfires.”

Lucy is a beautiful, intelligent woman who dropped out of college after her mother’s death. She works for an underground newspaper and has a job at a strip club doing graphics for their advertisement. Doing what she needs to do to get by day by day and pay the bills. Lucy is into thrill seeking photography called urbex. When Lucy is out shooting a desolate, run down, abandoned building she is witness and records a gruesome crime. Little did she know, the thrill seeking had just begun.

“When I was seven, my mother told me that there were devils cloaked as angels, and that I would learn to see beyond their masks. Fifteen years later, though, and I could still be fooled.”

Jase is a panty-dropping, hotter than sin, bad boy. He’s had a rough childhood….a rough life all around. He was to wreak vengeance on those who have wronged him and taken those he loved from him. His first task though? Find the one behind the camera who ratted him out in the first place. While Keri Lake has a natural talent for bringing the dark, and gritty elements to her stories she also has some humor thrown in as well. Things such as…

“damn tit-slinging ninja.”

Had me giggling like a school girl. The dark elements were gritty. The sex was undeniably hot and erotic. The building of the relationship between the hero and the heroine was perfect. The slow gradual build of trust was exactly as is should be. Their was a familiarity between the two characters that neither one could put their finger on. The push and pull between the two of the made me want to yell at them! They both fought their attraction, their connection to each other, until they could fight no more.

“I didn’t want shelter or safety from his storm. I wanted to be swept up and taken away, spiraling out of control with him.”

I have been a Keri Lake fan for a long time and will continue to love and support her phenomenal work! She never disappoints! This book had everything I love and more! The dark, the romance, the sex, the ups and downs and twists and turns that you never see coming! Backfire had me on the edge of my seat, flipping page after page wondering……WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?! This book had me biting my nails with the suspense and anticipation of what was to come. Keri Lake definitely delivered with this phenomenally written, beautifully dark book! I can’t wait for what comes next!!

What a fun read, such a wild ride of twists and turns that I never wanted to end! Michelle outdid herself when she wrote Strange Magic and completely surpassed my expectations with Dream Magic! This story had me turning page after page until I was finished!

Beautiful, Courage, Strength, Love, Loyalty. All words that describe the heroine in Dream Magic. She loves fiercely and would do anything to protect those she loves. Cecelia (CiCi) has been dealt a tough had by fate. She has become the prisoner of a cruel man who forces her to Prophesy, draining her energy from her. She has come to terms with her fate. No one will be able to rescue her. She’ll never be free again. She’ll never find love.

Morpheus, we all know and love, from Strange Magic is our hero in this book. He’s still a sexy as hell Falcon, and the fastest supernatural alive! He sets out on a journey to recover something that was taken. The only way they can find it, is with the Oracle’s help. Morpheus gets the shock of his life when he realizes…..

Michelle Mankin did a phenomenal job with her world building. I was all consumed with this book, the unique story line, and the characters. I fell in love all over again with the previous characters and fell just as hard for the new characters I was introduced to (CiCi, Amelia, Fiori, Stone). Dream Magic had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I had to know what was going to happen next! I didn’t put it down until I was finished! I was left with my mouth hanging open and a wtf expression on my face I’m sure cause……I DID NOT see that coming! I need the next book like, now!

Michelle as a beautiful talent for writing unique stories with romance, and twists and turns that will leave you breathless and begging for more! I can’t wait to see what stories she dreams up next for her readers! I can’t wait!

Romance. Action. Angst. Strange Magic had it all, and more! I loved this book! As soon as I began reading it, I was completely immersed in the story line. Michelle Mankin is phenomenal author. Her words made me feel as if I were there with the characters. It was like I was watching a wonderful movie that I didn’t want to end!

Thyme Bellrose is a beautiful young woman, raised by her grandmother most of her life. She lived a quiet life working in their ice cream shop, helping out neighbors, and dating the love of her life. She was just a normal girl

….or so she thought.

Billy Blade is a sexy famous musician. He lives his days playing music, drowning his sorrows in a bottle of whisky and having random girls warm his bed at night. He has a supernatural gift that scares him and he doesn’t think anyone will believe him.

A fun read! With sweet romance, angst, hot brothers, a feisty southern belle, and two adorable giant dogs! Ahhh I loved this book! What can I say? This is a story of hate turned love! It was wonderful! Probst had me flipping page after page to find out what would happen! I couldn’t put it down! Forget Property Brothers; give me Pierce Brothers!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Where on earth do I start? Just wow. This has to be the hottest book I’ve read all year. The Anatomy of Jane so, so sexy, so sinful, I literally BLUSHED and FANNED myself SO MANY TIMES!

Jane, Max & Wes are a total match made in heaven. A blistering connection JUMPED out of this book and GRABBED me.

From page one Amelia sets a story that lights up every part of the reader. Lit up every part of me. With just enough suspensful back ground action to keep the story flowing, The Anatomy of Jane is addicting.

There is an undeniable push & pull feeling when reading this book. My heart and mind warred with each other over Max and Wes, what would happen, would Jane get one? Which one? I was fully captivated by the relationship and the dynamic between the three of them. My heart also broke a little for each of them and their family battles, social battles and what the future may hold.

The Anatomy of Jane is a thrilling story that accelerates your heart and mind while burning you up before leaving you in a gasping state of shock with one hell of a cliffhanger ending. I’m DESPERATE for book 2!!!

Wednesday is a sweet, smoldering, and spellbinding story of second chance love that hits your heart like a hurricane—hard and unexpected—where you’re flowing in feels. Body blazing. Heart hurting. Soul searing. Your body melts but the heart does too…maybe more. Kendall Ryan has written a story that smells like sex and sin, but its core is so much more. Wednesday is a sweet surprise, one that’s a breathtakingly beautiful story of love against the odds.

When I first saw the scorching cover and read the synopsis for Wednesday, I could not wait to dive into this erotic adventure. So steamy that panties would be tossed immediately because they would not be necessary due to too many changes required.

Then I saw Wednesday’s warning:

“Proceed at your own risk.”

Warnings are automatic must-reads, and I want to read Wednesday ten times more. This warning made me contemplate seeking the hubby for a little read-along, a deliciously dirty date where I may even blush.

Despite the super sexy cover, synopsis, and heated warning, I was WRONG. Off-the-charts incorrect. My romance radar: EPIC FAIL. Wednesday is so utterly unexpected. Oh, and that warning of a risk? It’s not merely a risk about high-octane-super-steamy-sexy sex. The big risk is to your heart, as it will bend and perhaps break.

The pleasantly unpredictable Wednesday tore into me like a Saturday, full of life and love, and I LOVED IT! This story is full of sweetness born from a love so pure and one stemmed from childhood. The kind of special, once-in-a-lifetime love that lasts for an eternity. Wednesday touched me like a sweet and sappy Nicholas Sparks story but with lots of steam.

Chloe and Shaw were childhood best friends and secret crushes who grew apart.

“I taught him to climb trees and catch lizards, and he taught me how to kiss.”

When Shaw loses his wife in a tragedy, he seeks out his best friend to ease the pain. Though instead of wanting her friendship, it’s her body he wants to use as a vessel to forget. Dull the ache. Feel good for a little while.

“Chloe was the golden-haired little girl I’d taught to fish…the first girl I kissed…my best friend since I was a little kid—and now she was my f**k toy.”

Beautiful, blue-eyed and blonde-haired, Chloe, will do anything for her best friend, despite the distance between them for the past few years where they grew apart. Even if the ‘anything’ is giving her body to a man, her best friend, who needs her physically to snuff out his emotional pain.

“I wanted him to heal. I wanted him to be okay. And for those few hours every week, if he could lose himself in me, I was only too happy to oblige.”

For Shaw, those Wednesday sex sessions with Chloe are everything, even if just a temporary fix.

“She was so tempting, so sweet, and [dang] if I could resist her. She quieted the cloudy discontent that swirled in my brain. It wasn’t a question of desire. It was a need.”

For Chloe, these hot Wednesday romps mean someone is showering her with attention for once.

“For those few hours, I mattered to someone.”

Chloe’s best friend and crush wants HER. Needs her. However, like air to breathe, the physical intimacy is vital to her too.

“He was my drug. Bold. Intoxicating. Addictive.”

They are bound to each other by friendship and physical desire that is hovering close to more.

These words…I’m swooning…HARD.

“I need you, Chloe.”

“So have me,” I whispered to him.

The more Chloe gives Shaw her body, the less she feels she is healing him and the more she is losing herself. Hurting both of them. Playing with fire where she is starting to get burned.

“Our flings had crossed into a gray area that where instead of feeling like I was helping him heal, it felt like he was merely using me.”

Shaw thinks he is damaged goods. Only good for the physical connection. Emotionally broken. A bad choice for Chloe who deserves better than the monster he thinks he has become.

“I wondered if she saw me for what I really was—the villain in our twisted story.”

The lines are blurred between protecting the heart versus throwing caution to the wind. The dark past and guilt keep looming like a thunder clouds and tornadoes of torture. Chloe must protect herself from getting hurt as she falls harder for the best friend and lover she will never call hers.

“It wasn’t healthy to get my hopes up about something that could never be. He was my friend. And he was still grieving. And in twenty-plus years of knowing each other, he’d never expressed any romantic feelings for me.”

What a sensational surprise! Wednesday is sweetness and sorrow wrapped in a sexy package tied together with hope. Kendall Ryan’s spur-of-the-moment story may be little in size but is big in emotion. Wednesday is heart, hope, and healing. Wednesday is the life and love of Saturday. Wednesday is what you must meet for it is simply brilliant, beautiful and breathtaking, a story that is not what you expect but so much more. You’ll leave this tale that twists itself around your heart wanting more too.

Hard core fucking.

It’s not what I really want, but it’s all he has to offer. He’s filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me. How much I desire him, how desperate he makes me, how much I’d like things to be different between us. Real.

He used to be my best friend back before he got married. And now? Now, he’s a young widower. It’d be wrong on so many levels to expect something more from him. So I give him what he needs.
