There is a certain excitement that comes with the unknown…the unexpected. Trying something new is a risk but reward, a challenge and adventure. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I met my first book by Emily Snow after being a Snow stalker for a while, and it was incredible indeed! Friction is a heart-stopping sexy friends-to-boss-to lovers romance that bleeds angst and amusement, leaving you melting for more!

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Friction that gripped me hard, holding me in its clutches, holding me captive, holding me…OWNING ME. The witty and wondrous writing—full of delicious inner thoughts, playful banter, and heat that burned up this book—was pure intoxication. I could not put this fierce and flaming tale down. Alluring. Amusing. All-consuming. I WAS ALL IN!

Beautiful dark-haired and hazel-eyed Lucy Williams has had a storm of bad luck, a cheating husband and then failed marriage, job losses, and the return to living with her mother. Her personal life is heading towards cat lady central. Lucy needs a good dose of lady luck.

I first fell in love three years ago with the seductive, steamy, sweet, and suspenseful Stark trilogy by J. Kenner that started with Release Me and has spun into a series of stories that own me. Damien and Nikki held onto my heart then and never stopped mesmerizing and melting me. I’ll never get enough of these characters and series that have become me. Achingly addictive, sinfully sexy, and blissfully beautiful, Entice Me kisses all of your senses and leaves you panting for more.

Enthralled to be reunited with my favorite J. Kenner couple and series, I sunk myself into Entice Me and never surfaced for air until the end. I was quickly captivated and claimed as I clamored for more. Entice Me was sprinkled the sweetest touches of deja vous that was UTTERLY DREAMY. INSANELY SATISFYING. The Starks stamped themselves all over me, imprinting me with their modern day Cinderella tale of a love story, imprinting me to every emotion, imprinting me everywhere. I WAS ALL IN.

It didn’t take long before my body was on fire and my emotions were fine-tuned with everything Nikki and Damien. Sinfully sexy Damien treats Nikki like a goddess, worshiping her inside and out. She is his princess and he is her prince who continues to rescue her—the light to her dark—and give her the world. Their chemistry is magnetic as their bodies are attuned to each other so closely that they are one. One heartbeat for long-lasting love. One team. One forever.

I melted as these beautiful words show just how powerful Nikki and Damien’s bond is, a forever love.

Review – Southern Desire by Kaylee Ryan

4.5 heart warming, beautiful stars!

Southern Desire is the PERFECT name for this book because through it all Kaylee burns her readers with tension, desire, heat, passion and love. This beautiful story of pain and heartache and finding “the one” warmed my heart and soul thoroughly.

From the prologue alone Kaylee had me in tears. Kaylee has an ability to fully capture her readers and deliver everything with clarity. The pain and hurt of the scene is evident from the words used. What Kaylee is oh, so, good at it, is taking that pain and using it to produce the most beautiful kinda love.

As always, Kaylee’s hero was so damn perfect. I mean, HOLY HOT. His dirty mouth, mixed with his sinful, swoony, goodness just left me feeling like a pile of goo. And let’s just say, I see why Whitney is his ‘one’.

This whole beautiful, blissful package that is Southern Desire, was a joy to read!

After experiencing heartache and loss, Whitney decides it’s time to move on and leave the past behind, while keeping the pain with her. This scintillating and spellbinding story pounced on me, holding me in its clutches, where I could do nothing but submit to this UTTER BOOK BLISS that was Ruthless. Ruthless is a scintillating and scorching romance that burns the body and seduces the soul.

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Ruthless, an achingly addictive love story that held me hard…captivating me…consuming me…claiming me. Ruthless quickly staked its claim; this story unequivocally OWNED ME. I bled in angst. I burned in need. I was engulfed in flames, a fire that sparked into a full inferno. I could not put this fierce and flaming tale down. Alluring. Amusing. Angst-ridden. I knew I would love the blonde, blue-eyed, and long-legged Addison ‘Addie’ Paige when I met her in the previous book, Shameless. Addie is one of my favorite heroines ever!!! Beautiful, brainy, and badass, Addie is a hero with whom I identified immediately. She throws down sass like a fighter in the ring, and oh was she hilarious! My inner honey badger definitely approved!

“I’m like a f**king honey badger. Everyone knows honey badgers don’t give a s**t, and neither do I. Because if you tell me I can’t have something I want, I’ll only fight that much harder to get it.”

Addie has big lady balls and she knows how to use them! She knows what she wants and goes after it…or him. The he in the oh-so-hot equation is the cobra she wants to lure, Roman ‘Ruthless’ Reeves the best friend of her best friend’s boyfriend. Roman looks like a Roman god with his tall and chiseled body made of pure muscle, pierced in the right places, and sky blue eyes with black, and bed-head hair. A laced up law firm owner by day, Roman, and hot, pierced, bad boy at night, Ruthless. This beast doesn’t stand a chance against the ball crusher, honey badger, Addie…or does he?!?

“You’re manipulation game is strong. I’m impressed.”

Roman fires off shots but Addie fires back in blazing banter. Their banter sizzled off the pages, and oh was it a HIGH! A blurred line lingers between predator and prey. The mix of sass and smolder was pure intoxication.

“This woman is driving me insane. The wildcat actually taunted me then strutted away like there’d be no repercussions. My instinct is to give chase, to dominate my prey until it submits beneath me, is overwhelming. And Addison is about to learn what happens when you rouse the sleeping beast.”

The more the honey badger taunts the lion, the more he wants to play. This honey badger may have finally met her match, a lion who seizes the control she usually carries. It’s too bad that Roman is Addie’s boss and she’s the forbidden fruit he wants to taste.

Review – Love In Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

Alessandra Torre I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how FUCKING AMAZING Love In Lingerie is. I mean I’ll try but hot damn, NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, I say will do this book justice.

I’m that lost for words, I don’t know what to discuss first. I sit here now, my heart in my throat, my blood pumping insanely hard with massive stars in my eyes. Alessandra Torre took me to a DIFFERENT WORLD with this book. I never imagined that Love In Lingerie would be THIS. I mean don’t get me wrong I expected heat, rawness and intensity but what I didn’t expect was the EPIC FEELS that just surged out of me while reading, burnt through me while reading, tugged at the DEPTHS OF MY SOUL while reading.

EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING was right. So utterly perfect. So CONSUMING.

Love in Lingerie is fire and ice, a deep, delectable push and pull through give and take, lust and love, dominance and submission, and not even in the way you’d think.

Alessandra’s portrayal of ‘him’ and ‘her’ was written so fluidly, so flawlessly, so exciting. As individuals they were classy, captivating characters that you cannot help but fall for, from her strong, sexy persona to his deliciously, dirty, masculine rawness, I fell hard and fast.

Though together, together was when the magic happened. Together they oozed connection, one that you felt deep in your bones. Together they had a chemistry so fierce. Together they crackled like a burning flame, so hot and so bright. Together they BLEW ME AWAY.

As a lover of the ‘friends to lovers’ trope, Love In Lingerie was like a drug. An inescapable high that I wanted, needed, craved and drowned in. There are NO WORDS to fully describe how perfectly this trope was done. Alessandra NAILED it. I felt it, I lived it, I LOVED IT! The relationship, the dynamic, the intensity, the worry, the heartbreak, the good, the bad and the ugly, all done to perfection.
I honestly think I could sit here all day and tell you how utterly amazing Love In Lingerie was, IS. But I also urge you to dive into this book, putting everything else aside and just going along for the ride. Because you WILL lose yourself, you WILL fall in love, you will NEVER want it to end, you WILL want to devour it and go slow all at the same time. But most of all, past everything else you WILL feel nothing but PURE BOOKWORM BLISS when you have finished.

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.
The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Review – Worth The Wait by Claudia Connor

I have told Claudia many, many times that finding her TOTALLY by accident and buying Worth The Fall on a whim was the one of the best impulse buys I have ever done. I have been blown away by her talent and by far, she is one of the classiest authors I have had the honor to know and support. The McKinney Brothers are so incredibly swoonworthy. Honorable, hard working guys… the series without fail is one of my all time favorites. Now, she’s given us Nick Walker and wow. Just plain wow!

We met Nick Walker in Stephen’s book, Worth The Risk. The tough as nails older brother of Hannah Walker. He was fiercely protective of his baby sister having given up much of his life to raise her after the tragic death of their parents. But Nick was more than brother – he was father, provider and best friend. He wasn’t always hard hearted. An even more horrible event happens under his watch to his beloved sister. It changes the course of his life in so many ways, the biggest being the loss of his true love… the girl he simply couldn’t let go. His Mia.

This story was told in the most amazing flashbooks. We see the beginning of their relationship – the young hot love between the 19 year old Nick and the 17 year old Mia. We see their love blossom, grow and expand over 24 years. The good times, the great times… the tragic events and the heartbreaking loss of a special bond between two incredible people… a bond that survived college, medical school, the FBI academy – even time and distance – severed by guilt, pain and fear.

The emotions in this amazing story! I laughed, cried… absolutely SOBBED. The revelations of 24 years. The heartbreak that took on a life of its own when Nick couldn’t seem to reach Mia through his own pain. The losses and unbelievable hurts that Mia had to face alone. The crazy family dynamics. This was one twisty, topsy turvy absolutely wonderful roller coaster ride from the first page to the very last word. Nick made me swoon and clutch at my heart with his beautiful words, his protective nature, and his undeniable sexy ways. Mia is so strong, so beautiful… the perfect compliment to this man. Determined and independent but a nuturing soul who gave the Walkers peace in the storm of grief. She is by far one of my favorite heroines of all time.

This was just the most moving second chance romance I have read in quite some time. It was stunning and so satisfying. I closed my kindle cheering for Nick and Mia! Cheering and wiping my face! Watching them find not only their love again but coming to terms with all the pains of the past and time lost was soul warming. Claudia gave us a story that is engaging, delightful and thought provoking. So well worth the sleepy eyes and several cups of coffee that I had the morning after I finished. An absolute MUST READ for any McKinney Brothers fan!

Nick pressed two fingers into the sleep deprived headache pounding in his temple and tried to concentrate on professor Jenkins’s explanation of ideal gas law. He circled a line of notes, ignored the knock on the auditorium door until he heard the familiar cry. Hannah, who he’d left in the university daycare two hours ago.

The high pitched wail wasn’t his two year old sister’s hurt cry. It was her scared cry with a touch of pissed off. In the six months since their parents’ death, he’d learned to tell the difference. Oh did I FEEL THAT RUSH!

Oh. My. SWOON. The sweetness oozed off the pages straight to my heart.

This story, Safe Bet, imprinted itself all over me…stamping itself into my soul and hurling itself into my heart.

I’ve been told I have quite a gift.

Hey, I don’t just mean in my pants. I’ve got a big brain too, and a huge heart of gold. And I like to use all my gifts to the fullest, the package included. Life is smooth sailing….

Until I find myself stuck between a rock and a sexy roommate, which makes for one very hard…place.

Because scoring an apartment in this city is harder than finding true love. So even if I have to shack up with my buddy’s smoking hot and incredibly amazing little sister, a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.

I can resist Josie. I’m disciplined, I’m focused, and I keep my hands to myself, even in the mere five-hundred square feet we share. Until the one night she insists on sliding under the covers with me. It’ll help her sleep after what happened that day, she says.

Spoiler—neither one of us sleeps.

Did I mention she’s also one of my best friends? That she’s brilliant, beautiful and a total firecracker? Guess that makes her the full package too.

What’s a man stuck in a hard place to do?

I point to the curved wooden stand with a hook at the top. “This. Explain this.”

Josie sets her hands on her hips. “It’s a banana holder.”

I give her a stern look. “I can read. I don’t need to know what. I need to know why.” I poke the object on the shelf at Bed Bath & Beyond, otherwise known as the Nexus of Unnecessary Things. Pretty sure there’s some kind of vortex or force field right smack dab in the middle of this store attracting all the weird, bizarre, and odd home goods. “Why can’t they sit on the kitchen counter? Or, how about in a bowl?”

“Maybe the bananas just like to dangle?” she suggests. “Hang free and all?”

Smacking my forehead, I go along with it. “Aha. That makes perfect sense.”

“I’m here to help.” She tugs on my shirtsleeve. “But can we please get to the sheet aisle? You can’t sleep on a naked mattress.”

“That may be true, but I could definitely sleep naked on a mattress,” I offer, and she laughs as we navigate through another sardine-packed aisle in the mammoth store.

It’s one in the afternoon, and I just moved in this morning. That took all of two hours. Spending my twenties in med school and as a resident gave me very little time for the acquisition of things, so most of my possessions fit in a duffel bag. I have very little. Not even sheets for a queen-size bed. Ergo, I’m spending Saturday at Bed Bath & Beyond, which is a bit like wandering through a Buzzfeed post titled “Ten Things I’ll Never Use.”

More like five hundred. Wait. Make that five hundred and one, because I just spotted the new number one item on the list.

“That,” I say as I make a beeline for a shelf of crème brûlée torches. Grabbing a silvery one, I hold it up. “Please say we can have a housewarming party, and you’ll make crème brûlée, and I can stride all proud and awesome into the kitchen,” I say, puffing out my chest and deepening my voice. “And I can light it with a torch, and we’ll all ooh and ahh at the manly fire I made when I lit up a dessert.”

She arches an eyebrow. “A manly fire?”

I nod vigorously. “And then you’ll let the guests take turns punching me in the face for being a total douche for owning a crème brûlée torch.”

She narrows her eyes. “You actually want people to punch you?”

I’m deadly serious as I answer her. “If I ever own a crème brûlée torch, you have carte blanche to punch me, Josie. You really should.” I drop the torch on the shelf and take her hand, clasping it tightly in mine. “Promise me. From this day forward. Promise you’ll punch me if I ever own a crème brûlée torch, a rotating tie rack, or more than one kind of cheese grater. This is part of our roommate pact.”

She grips my hand tighter, her green eyes glowing with stark seriousness. “I solemnly swear to pummel you under all the aforementioned circumstances. As proof of our friendship and roommate solidarity.”

“You’re a saint,” I say, then wrap a hand around her head and tug her close for a quick kiss on her forehead.

And hello, sweet, sexy scent of Josie. What is this delicious smell? Is it . . . oh fuck me.Cherries. My God, she smells like cherries. Like the perfect summer fruit. Like the naughtiest fruit. And I’ve got to wonder if that cherry scent is her face lotion, her shampoo, or her body wash?

Body wash.

My mind is adrift, and the word association begins. Because what goes with body wash but nudity?

Naked woman in the shower. Washing. Lathering. Soaping.

Review – Ego Maniac by Vi Keeland

You know what’s amazing? In the alphabet there are 26 letters. Those 26 letters get mashed about or organised, which ever way you look at it and form words. Words then form sentences. They form paragraphs. They form stories. In fact they form everything. Think about it, there is always a word for whatever you’re feeling, experiencing, seeing. Whether you can think of that word straight away or you have to sit with your feelings there is always a word. Formed simply, from those 26 letters. I’ve sat a while and tried to think of the best word, the one word that will capture everything I want to say. I’ve tried mashing and organising those 26 letters into something, anything. And the only thing I can come up with is PHENOMENAL.

My skin, my blood, my heart and soul are ALIVE. From around 19% when the tingles started to now, while I sit here with tears streaming down my face, I feel ALIVE. Ego Maniac was perfectly poignant, breathtakingly beautiful and sinfully sexy.

Just before hitting the halfway mark I realised that this book was my new Vi Keeland favourite. Every time I read a new Vi book I sit and say “Oh this is my favourite Vi Keeland book yet”, but the thing is Vi’s books get better and better each and every time, how can it not become my favourite?

CONSUMED. With love. That’s what I am. CAPTIVATED by a stunning, raw, powerful read. BUZZING from head to toe, NEEDY, from some of the most SPECTACULAR feels, probably ever. I have fallen HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE with Drew Jagger. The six foot two and a half, two hundred and five pounds ego Maniac pushed all my buttons, stole my breath and overtook all my senses. The cocky, arrogance oozed from Drew and I inhaled every last drop of it.

Drew Jagger can literally show me his moves ANY DAY of the week. He can also sweet talk me any which way. I’m pretty sure my knees went weak as often as Emerie’s.

Speaking of Emerie, the sexy, sassy redhead is now my favourite Vi Keeland heroine. She made me laugh, she made me feel. I believed every single ounce of her charm and connection to Drew. And my gosh, that connection. HOT, RAW, PASSIONATE. I felt every sizzle, every spark, every intense pull.

It took me 5 hours to devour Ego Maniac, and if you ask me that was way too short. I hit the end way too soon, I could easily stay in the world of Drew and Emerie forever. Review – Hollywood Prince by Kim Karr

Hollywood Prince by Kim Karr is a total royal treat. One I was fully engrossed in and one I ended up falling head over heels in love with.

This ‘series’ of standalone books are my favourites of Kim’s. I feel so connected to the characters and I am in awe at Kim’s writing, which just goes from strength to strength. Each book, while featuring new characters, holds so many similar aspects to the others that just pushes my love up higher and higher.

As always Kim’s story telling was flawless. For me, it’s hard not to fall in love with Kim’s books, they captivate me, they give me everything I look for in a book. And she writes some of the most swoony, delicious hero’s I’ve met! After meeting Cam & Keen, I was incredibly excited to meet Brooklyn. Luckily for me Kim did not disappoint. If anything she gave me SO MUCH MORE than I was expecting.

I absolutely ADORED the friends to lovers aspect of this book, the tension between Brooklyn and Amelia was to die for. Everything about them sizzled and popped and just excited me. From their obvious connection to the flirty banter to the dirty talk, everything was OH SO RIGHT!
I keep saying it, but now, I think this is my favourite Kim Karr book, from the cover, (OMG THE COVER THOUGH!) to the story, to the characters #Brookmelia, to the very last page, Hollywood Prince was the ultimate star of the show!
