All moments matter. We just rarely know how important they are until the chance to act on them has already passed.

It won’t take you long to learn that every word that A.L. Jackson pens to life is MEANINGFUL; every word MATTERS. Every word that this author writes is FULL OF FEELS. Every word BLEEDS BEAUTY. Every word is mesmerizing and meaningful. Every word means everything. Every word is EVERYTHING!!!

When I read A.L. Jackson’s last book in my beloved Bleeding Stars series this past Summer, I didn’t think this wonderful writer would heal that hangover so quickly. I didn’t think I could sink myself into another story of this author’s when another series of hers still held my heart in its hands. I didn’t think I could love another series or story of A.L. Jackson’s so much. Show Me the Way this single dad romance, burrowed its way into my heart from the very start and never let go. I COULDN’T LET GO of this heart-hitting love story, especially when the heart hit the hardest was mine.

Two broken souls, one chasing light while one relishes the darkness, collide. This collision of past with present, dark with light, and a whole lot of fate was INEVITABLE.

A guy like that had heartache written all over him. And I’d had enough of that to last me a lifetime.

Oh Rex!!! Hard and soft. Dark and light. This sage-eyed single dad with the body of perfection and the damaged soul was a man I wanted to save. A man who has paid what he believes to be his penance for too long. A man who has never wanted to take a chance on love again…until her.

Review – Strip Me Bare by M. Never

When I think that I have gotten a handle on M. Never’s ridiculously incredible talent, she always manages to throw me for a loop. She’s written about the dark dirty that men do and women who are some of the strongest I have ever read. Still I didn’t expect this. Strip Me Bare is something so heartfelt yet complex and absolutely spellbinding.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that there’s a hot stripper with moves that rival Magic Mike.

Alana Remington is a good girl from old money. She’s been given every opportunity but is missing the one thing that she has always longed for – the unconditional love of her father. Since losing her mother, he has been all that she had but he has kept her arm’s length. Unlike her uncle and cousin who have done everything they can to show her the true meaning of family, Judge Remington feels that he must shield himself from emotions and has endeavored to make sure that Alana is steeled and prepared for the future. This was a fantastic second chance romance! The romance of it sizzled. The swoony alpha hero and his strong sensational leading lady branded my heart. Even filled with a lifetime of hurt, Alana is amazing. This is the tremendous story of a young man determined to have true love and redemption despite the circumstances of his past and the consequences of the chaos. I turned the pages praying and hoping for his happiness, still knowing trouble wanted to infringe on his second chance. I didn’t want this one to end even as I turned the pages as fast I could to get more of this delicious romance! I was hungover and disoriented for days after finishing this book. It’s just that good.

Review – Running Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Running Into Love was such a sweet and funny read! Aurora shows all her incredible talent in this first book of the Fluke My Life series. A wonderful strong leading lady and an off the charts sexy leading man headline this fantastic story!

I smiled and laughed and sighed from beginning to end. How could you not absolutely adore the totally accident prone Fawn Reed? From running with her eyes closed and knocking over an incredibly hot NYPD homicide detective that she feels an instant connection to only to find out that hottie is none other than her next door neighbor, Fawn’s life becomes a series of events that kept me turning the pages until I had completely devoured this story!

Levi Fremont may come off as the tough guy cop but he certainly has a soft spot for the little teacher next door with the totally stubborn dog. He has a crazy ex and an even crazier family that wants nothing more than to see him happy. Fawn certainly changes everything about his life – for the better. And don’t tell Aurora, but I think Levi is definitely a Mayson in disguise… or at least a distant cousin. This yummy dominant of a man has the Boom written all over him – NYC style!

Running Into Love is so full of feel great moments, gut busting clumsy laughs, and steamy chemistry between two total opposites who manage to find everything they need in each other. Fawn and Levi’s families and friends make this story such a wonderful distraction. Have no doubt Fawn’s family is just as crazy as Levi’s and they stole this book!

This is a wonderfully written story, such a happy swoony story! More please! Fantastic, ARR!

Review – One Call Away by Emily Goodwin

I started and ended this book the same way…. in the ugliest of tears and sobbing. The first time in agony from pain and unthinkable loss. A life full of amazing potential taken way too soon. The last in elation from seeing a leading lady embrace her life and love so fully, so completely that it made my heart shutter in my chest. This story was worth the couple of nights of missed sleep, running down my phone to read those last few paragraphs. Sierra and Chase were simply stunning from beginning to end.

Sierra is not like the rest of her family. The rich farm Belmont family of the small town of Summer Hill in Mississippi. She knows that she cannot be a farmer’s wife but was prepared to be a doctor’s wife. She loved Jake. He was her world, until he is taken away. Lost in grief for a year and a half, Sierra is barely surviving. Her job at the local bookstore is her haven, a place where she can get lost. But no matter what, she can’t feel.

Chase Henson has always been looking for a place to belong, a place to call his own. His return to Mississippi is welcomed by his brother but looked upon with suspicion by the rest of the town’s people and bitter anger by his stepmother. After burying their father, Chase decides to stay and give his brother a hand at his bar. It was supposed to be temporary but then he sees Sierra Belmont and everything changes. For the first time he sees someone like him – unsettled, lost, and hurting. Someone looking for home.

Their journey towards a happy life together is far from easy. There is unbearable grief, secrets from the past, and small town gossip. Interfering relatives and well meaning friends. On the flip side of that coin, there’s a white hot chemistry that cannot be denied, a friendship built on the love of books and a second chance to live and love – not just simply survive. Yes, to feel again. It was impossible not to get swept up into these two. They began with such an uncertainty and moved on to something so unique. Chase is fierce and determined to see Sierra happy. Sierra knows that her happiness is finally within reach thanks to Chase.

This book was raw, pure emotion. It was angst and hearbreak, healing and resilience. I was left stunned and overjoyed. The story is so engaging and thought provoking that it was hard to step away once I started. I wanted to see how Chase would break through Sierra’s insecurities and wondered how his mysterious past would affect his future. I rooted for Sierra as she began to put her grief aside and embrace all that love had to offer. I laughed with them. I cried with them. I celebrated right along with them. This was just wonderful!

One Call Away is one of the best reads this year! Emily has written such a beautiful, thoughtful second chance romance. I already miss Summer Hill, and I certainly hope that she plans more stories from small town Mississippi. Wonderful job, Emily. All the stars and then some!

When I turned the last page of Legend, I bawled my eyes out. Tears of sorrow fell for this top 2016 read and the end of the all-time favorite Real series. He’s not a douchebag; but that doesn’t stop his friends from turning him into one.

MY FRIENDS WANT ME TO GET LAID.

So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus, in bold printed letters:

Are you the lucky lady who’s going to break our roommate’s cherry?
Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have a pulse. He will reciprakate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551

The morons can’t even spell. And the texts I’ve been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I’m not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.

THIS ISN’T THE KIND OF ATTENTION I WANT.

One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can’t bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.

However, after seeing her in person, I know she’s not the girl for me. But my friends won’t let up–they just don’t get it. Douchebags or not, there’s one thing they’ll never understand: GIRLS DON’T WANT ME.

“Just go over there,” I whisper to myself, blowing out a puff of pent-up air.

I put one foot in front of the other and begin toward him, spine ramrod straight, steeling myself, prepared for another argument.

Twenty feet.

Fifteen.

Eight.

Two.

“Hi.”

No reply.

“Do you mind if I sit here?” I lay my hand on the back of the wooden chair across from him, intending to pull it out.
