Review Tour- Tattered Gloves by JL Berg

My rating is 4 out of 5 stars

J.L. Berg takes you on an emotional journey of strength, perseverance, and courage. You will truly feel for Willow and will watch as she slowly blossoms into the beautiful young lady she was meant to be.

The relationships as he develops may take a while to develop because of the emotional trauma of her past, they do grow tremendously. I loved watching her turn into a beautiful butterfly and spread her wings.

Head down.

Don’t look up.

Never make eye contact.
Those were the words I lived by growing up, the words that protected me in an unsafe home. But words are only letters and eventually even they couldn’t keep his hands off me.

Hoping to leave behind the shattered life of my past, I find myself in a boring, small town, with an aunt I’ve never met and at a school I loathe.

But soon I learn, not everything in this world is as black and white as I’ve determined. Sometimes those we are so quick to judge often need a second, third or even fourth time to make a first impression.

And often, there are friendships and even love waiting just around the corner, if we are brave enough to take the first step.

Am I brave? Or will I hide behind these tattered gloves of mine forever?

Review – How Sweet It Is by Janelle Denison

how-sweet-it-is-cover

review-graphic

Oh what a sweet read this was!

Rebecca Moore had sacrificed so much in her life to see to her sister Celeste’s happiness after the loss of their mother when she was sixteen and Celeste a mire ten years old. She took on the responsbility of mother, care giver, and head of household when their irresponsible father tended to shy away from his duty to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads. Those years shaped and solidified Rebecca’s opinion of what she wanted in life and in a man – stability, strength, steadiness. Spencer Bassett was no where near what she wanted in a man. He played video games for a living, was the carefree playboy and was six years younger than she was. No way could be have him… but boy, did she want him.

Spencer Bassett wasn’t going to give up on what he wanted – and he wanted Rebecca. He has always wanted her. The attraction between them was undeniable. He watched her give everything to her sister and now he wants to give her everything – fun, spontaneity, security. Love. He knows his time to convince Rebecca is short. He only has the weekend of Celeste’s wedding to show her that he’s the one for her.

This was such a fun, flirty but oh so steamy read! Spencer is sexy, funny and just plain yummy. For all that she’s done Rebecca is admirable, feisty and determined. It was so nice to see her just… give in and let go.

Wonderful afternoon read and perfect for Valentine’s Day! Grab this one!

synopsis.jpg

Practical, sensible Rebecca Moore doesn’t do playboys, especially ones like sexy, wealthy Spencer Bassett, even if he makes her want to do very naughty things with him. But when a weekend away at her sister’s wedding puts them in close proximity, Spencer doesn’t hesitate to take advantage of the undeniable attraction between them. Seducing Rebecca is his goal—with hot, steamy kisses, decadent chocolates, and sensual nights in his bed.

Rebecca is certain this is only a weekend fling, but Spencer is determined to win her over for good by showing her just how sweet it is.

Review- The Do-Over by Julie Richman

My rating is 6 out of 5 stars.

What a book. I had been anticipating this book for quite some time and it was pure perfection. Julie will take you on an emot rollercoaster ride of love, loss, and second chances. I would recommend not reading it in public because I did and I looked like a loon. One second I was laughing and then crying feeling like my heart was ripped out. Exceptional job Julie. By the end, my heart was so full and all I could do was smile.

Wes and Tara have an Instant connection but are just at the wrong place in life. After meeting on a cruise and spending an entire night talking, they part without saying goodbye. Over a decade later, they meet again. This time its work related. Tara gets the opportunity for a do over and there is o my one thing standing in her way, a one night affair with none other than Wes’s best friend.

Wes and Tara have so many obstacles to overcome but through it all, they realize that they belong together. Such an amazing and emotional read. Excellent job as always Julie.

The Do-Over, an all-new emotional, second chance STANDALONE romance by Julie A. Richman is now LIVE!!
~ Sometimes, one degree is all that separates you from the one you were meant to be with. ~
Wes Bergman was sex on a stick.
We’d been circling one another our entire lives, mingling at the same clubs… attending the same events…sharing mutual acquaintances…yet we’d never actually met.
Until . . .  we both boarded a Windjammer Cruise in the Caribbean. And it was like meeting my long, lost best friend for the first time. I hadn’t ever connected with a guy that way before.

But Wes had a girlfriend. So, when the week was over, he walked off the ship, unknowingly taking a piece of my heart with him.
Now, over a decade later, newly divorced, I’m the proverbial fish out of water. Dating has totally changed. Apps. Swipe left. Swipe right. Catfishing. Men my age want two things: twenty-five-year-olds—like my ex’s new child bride of a wife—or just a quick hook-up.
After a string of bad dates, I finally did something I never thought I’d do. I had a hot one-night stand with a really handsome guy I met online who didn’t even know my real name.
Turned out Mr. Fling is a big shot for my company’s newest client. And just my

luck, that client’s CEO is none other than . . . Wes Bergman.

Now I’m separated by one degree again from the man who stole my heart.

And Mr. Fling could destroy my chance of what I want most –
A Do-Over with Wes.

Excerpt:
His hand slowly stroking up and down the outside of my thigh is what roused me from my dream state. It was so soft and tender that I was getting more and more turned on with every movement. With my eyes still closed, I enjoyed the sensation.  It wasn’t until his lips started brushing my shoulder, that I was unable to stifle a moan, revealing that I was awake.

“Good morning,” his whisper was hoarse.

“Mmm, good morning.” I stretched my body against his and turned my head to see his face hovering over mine, before our lips met.

“Sleep good?”

“Surprisingly, I did. I was so exhausted. Sorry for passing out on you last night,” I apologized.

“I think we both passed out the moment our heads hit the pillows.” Wes’ hand had migrated from my thigh to my stomach, where he softly drew circles with his fingertips.

Rolling over to face him, I pushed my hair out of the way, silently praying my humidity enhanced curls didn’t make me look like a deranged housewife, scaring the erection right out of the man. Slinging a leg over his thigh, I instantly got my answer. The crazy morning coif was not a cock killer. Thank God!

“You’re a morning person, I see.” Hiding my smile was not a possibility.

“Yeah, I am,” Wes laughed, moving closer to me, his eyes filled with the unmistakable desire to become lovers, something I’d dreamed about on the deck of a windjammer long ago.

“You can wake me up like this anytime.” I needed to let him know it was okay. He’d said he’d take it as slow as I wanted it and what I wanted right now was a slow rhythm of him plowing into me. Hard.

“Are you hard to wake up?” He was pressed up against me.

“I think you’ll figure out the secrets to rousing me.”

“You’ve already figured out the secrets to arousing me.” His voice still had that sexy edge of morning roughness to it, making me want to skip all foreplay and have him inside me.

“I’ll bet you have a few more secrets I can discover,” I said against his lips, as I shifted the leg I had slung over him, pressing my heat and wetness against his already throbbing cock.

Wes groaned and I could feel his smile against my lips. “You know you’re going to make it impossible to make slow, sweet love to you.”

“Good, because I don’t want it slow and sweet.”

Wes flipped me onto my back, “I can easily accommodate your wishes. Are you on anything or do I need to…”

“We’re good,” I assured him.

“Yes, we are.” He kissed my neck, then swiftly pulled my tank top over my head tossing it to the floor. “We’re going to be really good together. Of that, I have no doubt.”

And I knew he was right. Being with this man had been so perfect from the night we met. We meshed with ease and the result was pure joy.

The warmth in his eyes and smile made my breath catch, and in that moment, I was flooded with overwhelming emotion at how much I wanted him. How much I’d always wanted him. It was more than lust, beyond the heat of the moment. Wes Bergman was the man I had always wanted, from the night we met. That was clear to me now.

“I vote we skip the foreplay.” I wriggled out of my underwear.

“You’re on.” His smile told me he was taking on the challenge.

“You’re in,” I gasped, my breath catching in my throat, surprised at the swiftness with which he filled my request.

Review – Before The Lie by KD Robichaux

before-the-lie

review-graphic

I was stunned from the first page. Vi and Corbin had me…. there was no way I couldn’t see this through to the end. I never saw this coming, and I am still so speechless.

This love story… this insta-love between one incredibly alpha Army specialist and one very shy high school senior. This was nothing like I expected. It was so much more. It was true love at first sight that I felt. It was red hot chemistry. The devil and his beautiful angel. Corbin was a young man with a tough past. A trouble maker, a criminal… someone with dark desires. Vi was an innocent girl who only found peace when she was rock climbing. But she never felt anything like the desire she felt the moment she laid eyes on Corbin. He wanted to protect her. Possess her… love her. She wanted to belong to him and only him. To be loved by him and to love only him.

Their relationship grew, strengthened and survived the rigours of deployments. It was everything that they had hoped it would be. Maybe even better. But as the title suggests, things change. The end of BTL is so gut wrenching… and even though I knew it was coming, I wasn’t ready for the punch to my heart the last words of the story gave me.

Steamy, sexy, angsty… moments when I laughed soo hard I cried! Kayla has written a beautiful tale of love and loss, passion and heartbreak. I confess I was captivated by Vi and Corbin. I was consumed by their story, and I freely admit I have begged Kayla to please, please, PLEASE HURRY UP with Truth Revealed. Their story is so far from over.

FANTASTIC, Kayla!

It was love at first sight.

Not just for me, but for Corbin as well.

Our eyes locked across the room, and that was all she wrote.

But we didn’t rush things.

We wanted to do it right.

After all, we would spend the rest of our lives together.

The love of my life.

My soul mate.

He was the intense and fiercely protective soldier,

and I was his doting and faithful lover.

I found my happily ever after.

This was our story…

KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.

Review – Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey

Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey

Have you ever felt those warm, fuzzy bookish feels, the ones that fill you up from the inside out and blast out of you like fireworks, that light up the night sky?

Have you ever felt those ridiculously swoony feelings you get when you read a book that was just AHHH?!

Have you ever fallen so deep into two characters that they just make you FEEL, LAUGH and LOVE everything!!!

If you haven’t, then I urge you to pick up Anything You Can Do by RS Grey.

This fierce, fun, flirty, FLAWLESS novel produced all the feels, consumed every part of me and held me captive, from start to finish. And I know it will to you too.

I feel as though I’m glowing, every part of me just feels alive. I’m soaring, way up high and I don’t want to come down. I swear the words in this book just pushed me up, further and further with every passing chapter. Lucas & Daisy are just PERFECTION.

One thing you cannot deny while reading Anything You Can Do is that there is a hot, passionate, connection that you feel right down to your toes. From the moment this book starts the push and pull is electric. It gives you that edge of seat, bated breath feeling. It’s just soooooooo freaking good.

Daisy is a FANTASTIC heroine. So funny and sassy. Lucas is pure romance heaven. So sexy, so arrogant, so sweet, so moody, so swoony. He’s just all the things. And those little POV switches were GENIUS!! They made this book all the more intense and captivating.

Anything You Can Do is a pure romance readers delight. I need wayyy more than 5 stars! For me, this is RS Greys best book yet!

Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.

It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he.

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

Review – The Bartender by Piper Rayne

The Bartender by Piper Rayne

4.5 heart warming, sexy stars!

Author duos are TAKING OVER and the newest kids on the block Piper Rayne are a match made in bookworm heaven! The Bartender is a bloody brilliant debut novel!

I was so surprised by this book, on the outside, the Bartender looks like a fun, flirty rom com! Which it is. But, it also goes deeper. Cole and Whitney develop a beautiful friendship after Whitney initially dislikes him, their friendship is one that blossoms, filled with lust and heat. Anyone who’s anyone knows I LOVE a good friends to lovers romance, with a bit of added hate in there and this book TICKED ALL MY BOXES.

Cole is fantastic! He’s deep and intense. He’s sexy and sinful. He’s dirty but oh, so delicious. And he drove himself straight into my heart!

Whitney makes up the FAB THREE. My nickname for the secondary characters that are introduced in this book. Despite initially struggling to connect to Whitney, I ended up really liking her in the end. Alongside Whit is, Lennon and Tahlia, they are a sisterhood I’d love to be apart of and I cannot wait for the next books to get their stories too.
The Bartender is a beautiful romance that will make you laugh, swoon, and just feel!

Who knew sleeping with the enemy could be this fun?

Was the one night stand a good idea?

Well, no. Probably not in retrospect.

In my defense I had just moved back into my grandparent’s house, I’d lost my dream job, and a guy on Tinder had stood me up. It was like life had suddenly stamped ‘LOSER’ on my forehead.

So when the guy behind the bar started giving me THE look…you know, the one that promised I’d be screaming his name into the wee hours of the morning? When that guy also has the perfect amount of scruff on his chiseled chin, biceps bulging out of his t-shirt, and a cocky grin you knew he’d earned in the sack…when he gives you that look, you don’t bother to figure out what your six degrees of separation are. You jump on that horse and ride it!

Pun fully and completely intended. And accurate by the way.

I fully admit to feeling sorry for myself and acting impulsively, but by the time I’d figured out WHO the bartender was, I was already falling for him.

Review – Fallen Woman by Stephie Walls

Fallen Woman by Stephie Walls

I went into Fallen Woman with the knowledge from a trusted book friend, saying the book was amazing, and a synopsis. That was it. I had no idea what to expect.

So I started reading, and I soon realised that trusted book friend was right. This book, has literally been my life for a whole day. Fallen Woman infiltrated my heart and soul so deeply, I was consumed by it. From start to finish I lived and breathed these characters. I hurt with them. I cried and smiled with them. Ultimately, I fell in love with them.

Fallen Woman, was not an easy book to read. The writing is utter perfection don’t doubt that. It’s the story line that is hard. This book broke me down, at times it felt like I had taken a punch to the gut and at two points I had to stop and take time to mentally process all that was happening while I cried. All sounds pretty bad when put like that but if that’s what you are thinking, then you couldn’t be more wrong. You’d be so wrong.
This story, while heartbreaking is so, so beautiful. With every low part there are parts that lift you back up and breath life back into those broken pieces. I found myself devastated by some of the things that happen in Fallen Woman. I found myself hurting, literally in pain, for characters, in a book. I can only praise Stephie for the emotion she throws into her words. I also offer her huge praise for how she lifts the books from the lowest lows, literally, to the highs, that were a joy to read.

I cannot fathom how Stephie felt while writing this book. Her lead character Gia, was someone I ADORED. Given the hardest and most disgusting crap ever she remains focused and strong for her babies. She’s one of those characters you can’t help but care for and want to help. I wanted to be her friend. But she didn’t need me, she had Jase!

I actually don’t know where to begin with Jase. Our hero. And by hero I mean, literally a HERO. This man was sheer perfection. Swoon worthy. Fierce. Loyal. And protective. He is everything you’d want and need. His relationship with Gia is intense, passionate and just stunning.

I’ve only read one book by Stephie before and I’m gutted that I’ve only just properly found her. She is now an author, whose books I will read no matter what. Stephie’s love for her characters is evident in her words. Stephie’s writing is captivating and full of feels. I couldn’t ask for any more.
Everything about Fallen Woman was flawless. A fantastically written, emotion filled novel that breaks the heart but then fixes it in the most beautiful way.
