My rating is 5 out of 5 stars

This book was absolutely fantastic. I love all of Jacob’s books, but I think this one jumped into the number one slot for me. It was so much more than I expected from a sports romance, though I shouldn’t be surprised because Jacob has wowed me from his very first book.

We definitely get the hot, cocky, man whore who meets his match in a petite sweetheart. The sparks flew immediately and I absolutely loved the progression of their relationship. Seeing the alpha get tamed unexpectedly warmed my heart.

Dont get me wrong, this book packed a twist I never saw coming. My jaw dropped to the floor, and the events that followed truly shaped the path for the rest of the book perfectly.

This is a definite must read. I picked it up and didn’t put it down until.I finished. I was hooked.

Review-Cask Strength by Kayla Reyne

I thought Layla hit it out of the park with Single Malt, but she kicked it up about 10 notches with Cask Strength. I absolutely loved every part of this book, and I was so extremely excited when I saw book 2. Now I don’t know how I’m gonna be able to wait for book 3.

This book was completely action packed while emotionally charged. Continuing the journey with Aidan and Jamie, through ups and downs, highs and lows, was just what the doctor ordered.

Layla immediately went to my must read list with book 1, but she just cemented that decision even more with book 2. After book 3, I may just be stalking her extra hard. Time to go cool off. I have no idea how I’m going to fall asleep now after this action packed greatness.

“I know our schedule’s fucked, but that face of yours is awfully grim.”

Startling at the full-blast Irish accent, Jamie’s head shot up and the phone slipped from his fingers, clattering to the ground. Pick it up, some instinct ordered, but he was too busy losing the rest of his fucking mind. The veneer of calm shattered and any hope of patience took a flying leap out the window.

Because standing in front of him was his stylishly dressed partner, a messenger bag over one shoulder, a coat tossed over the other, and silver-rimmed aviators nestled in waves of auburn hair. “Mr. Walker, then,” he said with a smirk.

Jamie propped his elbows on this knees and covered his face with his hands. “God no,” he groaned. “Not that either.”

Aidan laughed as the buzzer went off on the conveyor behind them.

Leather smacked the backs of Jamie’s hands, and he snagged Aidan’s coat before it hit the ground.

Leather?

“Cover that up,” Aidan said, eyeing his crotch. “And get yourself together. Debrief in the car.” Turning, he headed for the spinning luggage carousel, giving Jamie a prime view of his sinfully fitted jeans.

Okay first off, I LOVE Leslie McAdam. Her books are sensual and sexy and downright perfect.

Secondly, I’m a FOOL. A big, bad bookworm fool. Why? Because I’ve never actually read a book by Lex Martin, despite having some on my kindle. *hides* I’m severely disappointed in myself.

Thirdly, Leslie McAdam and Lex Martin are PHENOMENAL together. Holy Maceroni did this book flow? From start to finish it just grew from strength to strength. It was chock full of emotion, humour and heat. Everything was executed with precision and perfection. I’m in awe!

All About The D was a surprise for sure. I mean I knew I’d like it, that was a given, but I didn’t expect it to own me like it did. Josh and Evie were a match made in heaven! And their story was just stunning. I devoured this story whole.

Leslie & Lex ensured that this story was fun. It’s a fairly light read that’s sexy and downright swoony yet it has those moments that really pull on the emotions and hijack the heart. Checkmate: This is Effortless was indeed just effortless. Kennedy Fox finished Drew & Courtney’s duet better than I could have ever expected and hoped for.

Everything in this second part was delivered with precision and ease. The flow and pace of the story was just perfect, it was fast enough to hook my attention. Slow enough to add mystery and suspense. Kennedy Fox left nothing uncovered, all my questions were answered and the best happy ending delivered.

This is Effortless messed with all my emotions. I’m pretty sure I experience every single emotion possible. I got tummy sloshes, an elevated heart rate AND skin tingles. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is HEAVEN! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I finished Revelry and then sat for an hour. ONE WHOLE HOUR deciding how I would sum up the reading experience. Asking myself how to fully encapsulate everything that is Revelry. So, after taking inspiration from the book, I opened Google and looked for good description words. Through my search I came across:

Awe-inspiring;

“arousing awe through being impressive or formidable.”

This lead me to look at impressive and formidable…

Impressive;

“evoking admiration through size, quality, or skill; grand, imposing, or awesome.”

Formidable;

“inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable.”

To me, Revelry, IS awe-inspiring, impressive and formidable.

I am in awe at Kandi and her story telling. I admire her honesty, her truth and the way she weaved heartbreak and sadness into something so beautiful and passionate. I respect every word, every sentence, every brutal truth, every damning insecurity, every personal flaw. All of it.

Revelry wasn’t a quick read for me. Sometimes the truths were a little too honest. Sometimes the heartache was too painful. Oftentimes I found myself stopping to process just how heavily the book impacted me, personally.

But Revelry was also stunning. The passion and emotion so, so strong. I found myself smiling, swooning, loving. Just FEELING. EVERYTHING. I even fell in love with a damn cat!!

Anderson & Wren are intense, so beautiful, so broken, so raw and so, so passionate.

They tattooed themselves on my heart and embedded themselves under my skin. They stole my heart, my mind, my soul and every single breath I breathed while reading. And my gosh! THEY ARE HOT! They are that sizzling, consuming kinda hot. Their intimacy was hotter than a burning flame, their connection brighter than a firework.

Revelry infected me like no other ever has. I saw parts of myself, parts I know I have to work on. But Kandi gave me hope, fed me strength, through her story and her characters she made me believe again. And I thank her immensely for that.

I have a HUGE GRIN on my face because I went on one hella good Joy Ride: fast, fierce, and flowing with feels!!! There is nothing that gets my motor running like a feisty frenemies-to-lovers tale. Alluring and adrenaline-charged, Joy Ride is DESIRE ON FIRE!

This heart-racing ride marked me from page one…my sweet ADDICTION! Joy Ride gripped me hard, holding me in its clutches. The playful banter that blazed and burned between the hero and heroine was energizing and enticing…PURE JOY to read!!! This story was the match and I was the flame. Joy Ride lit a fire under me where I felt pumped with energy…ALIVE!

She’s far too dangerous, even though a part of me likes playing with fire.

Max and Henley are SMOKIN’ together!!! The banter blazes with heat and a bit of hate that fuels their pent-up passion.

The delicious push and pull of these combustible characters was my furious FIX!!!

Max and Henley’s connection and chemistry are COMBUSTIBLE!!!

I kiss her as if I’ve suffered without kissing her. She kisses me back the same way. We aren’t gentle. We aren’t slow. We touch with fire and anger.

JC Valentine has been cranking out these books that are between novel and novella. It’s the best of both worlds because you get the whole story without all the extra fluff.

I felt so bad for Elise that being kidnapped was the most exciting moment of her lonely life. She has no friends or family. She is all alone. When she gets taken she is scared at first. Then she decides what does she have to lose? I think she was a strong heroine which I absolutely loved.

If there were anything I could say I want more of is an epilogue of the future. Dont get me wrong. you know their will be a HEA eventually. It just takes a wild ride to get there.

“You’re not that trigger happy,” Driver said confidently.

Elise heard the distinct metallic click of what she assumed to be the hammer being reset—on a gun!—beside her ear.

“You’re damn lucky for that,” Manhandler snarled. “You dumb fuck.”

“Got your heart pumping. You’ve been needing to get more cardio in anyway. Get rid of those love handles.”

Manhandler growled his irritation. “Get out before I put a bullet in your ass.”

“Need a few minutes alone with the missus?”

It was then Elise became highly aware of exactly where Manhandler was positioned. Or more specifically, how. And judging by how Manhandler stiffened, his whole body going rock steady, she knew he’d realized it too.

“It’s not what it looks like.”

“Hey, I’m not saying anything. You wanna shit where you eat? Fine by me. Just don’t let it go to your head. Well, the one that counts anyway. We might have to shoot her later.” With that little gem of advice, Driver closed the door, whistling a cheery little tune as he went.

Elise, though highly disturbed, was also keenly aware of the man on top of her. His body was everywhere, so much wider and heavier than her own…and it felt amazing. Even more amazing was the hard ridge of his cock pressed right up tight against her cleft, which wouldn’t have been an issue at all had she not inadvertently opened her legs when he’d rolled on top of her, creating the perfect cradle for his hips to rest in.

And without her sight, all she could do was lie there and focus on what was going on below the waist.

“Well, this is an interesting turn of events,” Manhandler said with a casual flair that Elise found admirable, considering she was beginning to experience heart palpitations.

“Why are you on top of me?” she demanded to know, her tone fraught with irritation.

“Don’t get so defensive, buttercup. I’m not the one who spread his legs like butter.”

She gasped, affronted. “You’re the one who climbed on top of me!”

“To protect you!”

“From your egotistical asshat friend!”

“I was half asleep. I didn’t know who the hell it was,” he hissed back. Then, with a grunt, he shoved away from her. The bedsprings squawked loudly as he sprang to his feet. “You act as if I stripped you down to your panties and tried to get inside you.”

God, just those words were enough to make Elise shiver. And not in a bad way. Not at all.

Apparently, her silence was enough to give him pause. “Wait…is that what you’re pissed about?”

“What?” she asked through clenched teeth. She already knew where this was going, because she was thinking it too.

“That’s it, isn’t it?” There was a smugness to his tone that she didn’t appreciate one bit. He came closer again, and she could feel him looming over her. “You liked me on top of you.”

“No, I didn’t.” Rolling away from the sound of his voice, Elise’s feet found the floor and she popped up, wanting desperately to run away but not knowing where to go without removing the blindfold, which could very well be a death sentence.

Manhandler came up behind her, his smug attitude full-watt. “Yeah, you did. You wanted the D. Just admit it.” She felt his heat a second before she felt his lips beside her ear. In a low, gruff voice laced with desire, he said, “If you wanted it, all you had to do was ask, buttercup.”

Review – The Bohemian and the Businessman by Katy Regnery

It’s time to return to one of my favorite places in Bookland – Blueberry Lane! It’s time to meet the rest of the Story Sisters beginning with Priscilla. From the very first pages, I knew that the flight of fancy wild child known as Priscilla Story would be a favorite of mine. With her dirty French and artsy ways, Priscilla made this story fun!

When Priscilla left home for France, she never thought that she would return in disgrace. Now, she has to face reality. She’s pregnant, almost broke and needs a husband. Now. She’s already considered the black sheep of the family. Her father has more than made it clear that he wants nothing to do with the wild one of the family. In truth, the man is a sexist pig with no redeeming qualities at all. Still Priscilla knows what she must do, and the perfect opportunity presents itself in the form of Shane Olson.

Shane has always wanted more. He wants more than the farm life he escaped. He wants a lasting career and place at the head of Story Imports. He thought dating and eventually marrying Margaret was his ticket into the business. Clearly, he was wrong. Still he won’t give up. When Priscilla makes her proposition of a marriage of convenience, Shane feels he has another chance. What he didn’t plan on was falling so hard for her that his life would never be the same.

Oh, Katy certainly knew waht she as doing when she put these two together! They are so truly opposite but really the same. Their love story is a slow burn. They were so much fun, have so much chemistry and just took my breath away. Priscilla is sex walking and while her life may be in shambles in some areas, her confidence draws Shane – a rather inexperienced man – to her like a moth to the flame. And these two just burn, burn, burn! Delightful!

Another wonderful trip to Blueberry Lane! This book was a joy to read. Katy has written a beautiful beginning to the Story Sisters addition to the Blueberry Lane series. A sweet romance with steamy naughty moments. P and Shane were a couple that I so wanted to see together, and well, it certainly didn’t hurt that Daddy Story got his, too. Great job, Katy!
