Captivating … chaotic … dark … dangerous … and devastatingly beautiful, Nightshade is the PERFECT STORM … MY perfect storm.

I love each of Lauren Blakely and Lili Valentes’ hot, humorous, and heartfelt stories but when paired together, this Double L DYNAMIC DUO is UNSTOPPABLE!!! Seriously!!!! Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente are a ROM-COM DREAM TEAM! Their words are just so ENTICING. This author duo’s writing fused together is FLAWLESS in their co-authored hit, The V Card.The V Card is a FUN, FIRE-HOT, and HEART-FLUTTERING ADDICTION!!!

Let’s start with the HOT and BIG-HEARTED HERO, Graham. A company owner by day and city playboy by night, Graham is not a one flavor type of guy. MR. MAN CANDY samples the goods. However, Graham is a GIVER. This hero is the type of man who OWNS A WOMAN’S PLEASURE and oh did he own mine. This man made me MELT all over, and I pledged my love to Graham way back on page one!

Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart is easily in my TOP 3 fave books Emma has ever written! I absolutely LOVED IT! Dex has my heart right now! He was pure male perfection! Gah!

Emma writes the best rom-coms. And just lately she’s included the gender-flip that is just sheer brilliance. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve come to love this trope and Emma nails it every time. Miss Mechanic was so funny, so sassy and so sexy. I’m 100% addicted to it and now experiencing the BIGGEST rush!

Dex and Jamie are EXPLOSIVE. A raging inferno of tension and fire and insane connection. From the start these two burn hotter than a burning flame and it only increases as the book goes on. I got major tingles and butterflies from some of their encounters! I just loved them so much.

Dex is an a**hole but he’s a totally loveable a**hole. He’s filthy and sexy. You can’t help but fall for him just as much as you want to slap him. As always Emma’s heroine, Jamie, is incredible. She’s one of my fave heroines Emma has written!

Everything about Miss Mechanic worked so well. The trope, the gender flip, the intensity and heat and the humour all complimented each other and equalled one hell of a story!

Two mechanics. One rivalry.

If I tell you right up front, right in the beginning that I lost him, it will be easier for you to bear. You will know it’s coming, and it will hurt. But you’ll be able to prepare.

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him Baby Moses when they shared his story on the ten o’clock news – the little baby left in a basket at a dingy Laundromat, born to a crack addict and expected to have all sorts of problems. I imagined the crack baby, Moses, having a giant crack that ran down his body, like he’d been broken at birth. I knew that wasn’t what the term meant, but the image stuck in my mind. Maybe the fact that he was broken drew me to him from the start.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news and nobody wanted anything to do with him. With each release, Angel Payne stretches her talents just a little bit further and never fails to deliver heart stopping, swoony reads. Misadventures with a Super Hero is no exception – but it is. This story is so outside the norm of what we would expect from Angel. She stepped outside of her comfort zone and embraced something so different. That’s why it’s such an AMAZING read!

There are some seriously bad people after Reece. He’s such a unique leading man. He’s funny, jaded, beautiful and special. He’s has such a romantic heart and his love for Emma is breathtaking and instant. Emma is intriguing, just as passionate for Reece as she is for Bolt and spunky. Man, she is a spitfire in a pair of heels! I loved her!

I didn’t go into this read expecting to find Thor or Iron Man or Captain America. I wasn’t planning to read a rehash of Superman or Batman, either. What I did get was a book that is so amazing and very different from the other books in the Misadventures series. It’s so crafty and appealed to the comic geek that I am! This story has an irresistible hero and feisty leading lady with a love story that dragged me under from the first page. I was mad when there was no other pages to turn to but thrilled to learn that Emma and Reece will be back! That ending alone is a reason to beg for more from these two. Emma and Reece are perfection! GO TEAM BOLT!

The family dynamic is endearing, so tender and touching that I could not help but feel like a part of this close-nit collection of characters too. Calvin is as sweet as he is sexy. Calvin’s friendly and flirty demeanor along with piercing green eyes and ruggedly handsome looks were mesmerizing. I fell head-over-heels in love with this MELT-WORTHY HERO. These characters felt genuine…so REFRESHINGLY REAL.

ROOMIES is FRIENDSHIP ON FIRE!!! Holland and Calvins’ attraction is fused with angst, an adrenaline rush that made me feel ALIVE. This hero and heroines’ chemistry is UNDENIABLE. Their relationship is so sweet, so smoldering, so passionate, so perfect.

Review – As Long As You Hate Me by Carrie Aarons

With every single release, Carrie Aarons grows in her talent. As Long As You Hate Me shows just how far she has come in her time as an indie author. This story of a bad boy rocker trying so hard to get back the girl that he lost but never really let go captured my heart from the very beginning. Kara and Dean have a true love story that is filled with good memories, bad decisions and a heartfelt need that has never been truly satisfied.

Many things have changed in seven years. Dean Jacobs left his abusive home and his girl behind after he finished high school to pursue his dreams as a musician. Since he couldn’t have her he poured all his love for Kara into his music and she became the inspiration for every word, every chorus that he sang. She made him famous and very rich. He thought that he was protecting her from his rock star madness by leaving her behind. But he couldn’t really leave her behind when he sang to her every night. Kara has gone on with her life and pursued her own career path. She’s happy and settled… maybe not as happy as she could be. One thing for sure is that she never wanted to see Dean Jacobs again. Neither of them have a choice when Dean’s bad boy present collides head on with his best forgotten past. Dean needs Kara and is willing to make a deal in order to get out of trouble and save his career. But leave it to Kara… she’s not going to make things easy for him. At all.

The course of true love never ever runs smooth, especially when the public, paparazzi and the painful past try to run that love off the road.

This book reminded so much of my seventeen year old self. At that age, you fall in love so deeply and it is an all encompassing, all consuming endeavor. It is rare to meet your forever at that age. It is more likely to meet your right at that moment and enjoy the moment for all that it’s worth. Still, there are those lucky ones that meet their forever in the confusing teen years and manage to navigate the crazy twenties with that love intact. Dean so loved Kara, even at a tender age and no matter what it would cost him, he wanted that love back. He wanted the songs to be for real. Try as hard as she could, there was no denying for Kara that Dean’s place in her heart would never be filled by career or anything else but him.

I loved this story! Oh, there were moments that I wanted to throttle them both. Their fighting and snide remarks made me want to scream! All credit certainly goes to Carrie for creating a story that pulls on the reader’s heart and soul. It’s hard not to fall for the bad boy who pours everything he feels for the girl of his dreams into his music and then shares it with the rest of the world. Dean may be flawed but he is perfect. Kara may be stubborn but she’s also very wise. The heart can be fooled and she chose to be mindful of that. I had to admire her strength and her belief in Dean.

This was just GOOD reading! I miss Dean and Kara and their second chance to get love right. Fantastic storytelling, Carrie!

Review – The Plan by Ella James

Ella James has once again stepped up to the plate and given us a truly amazing book in The Plan. I loved everything about this Southern second chance love story. Marley and Gabe’s second chance was much more than I expected. This story was more than two angry exes that find themselves having to share a home when they didn’t expect to. This story is about two people who were hurt by not only their shared past and a young disastrous marriage but by the pain of similar losses and the feeling of not knowing how to move forward. Time and distance can either help or hurt and in the instance of Marley and Gabe, time and distance only seemed to leave behind pain, misunderstandings and unanswered questions.

That doesn’t remotely touch what has happened since the two have divorced. They each have successful careers but are failures at love and long term relationships. There has been a heartbreaking loss for Marley and a shocking discovery for Gabriel that shakes the very foundation of his life. Each make their way home to Fate, Alabama, as a last resort. One comes to hide, the other to rebuild. It couldn’t be more fitting that fate leads these two back to their humble beginnings. Whether they are ready or not, they will have to face their fears, combat their anger and finally find a way to forgive each other.

This story is full of heartbreaking angst, moments that are so funny and so truly Southern that I laughed so hard my stomach hurt and an attraction that is still razor sharp in spite of a divorce and years of leading separate lives. Gabe is gruff and determined to keep Marley at arm’s length. He has many demons to face and a public that is clamoring to have his sordid story as a means to keep his wounds fresh and his heart bleeding. Now that he has returned to Fate he has to contend with small town speculation and over eager neighbors. Marley has her own insecurities that twine around her untouchable mother and a biological clock that just won’t stop ticking. But if her plan works, she’ll have everything that she has ever wanted and maybe, just maybe, her ex husband too.

Ella’s words always make me feel like I am sitting right with her characters. Her words evoke so many emotions. I ran the gamut getting to know Gabe and Marley, their wants and wishes, the ugly hurts that cannot be avoided. The entire Off-Limits series has stories and characters so layered, complex and absolutely endearing. The Plan is no exception. I fell for and felt for these two. Second chances are hard to come by and when Fate steps in, we sometimes have to step back and let love take its course. Rocky, tedious and thrilling though it may be. It helps, too, to have some great pie and pork chops for good eats on the journey.

This was amazing! It was worth the wait, the delays and the angst that the awesome author experienced during the writing of Gabe and Marley’s love story. Great job, Ella. Truly fantastic!
