AHHHHH! I’ve just completed Wounded by Abby Brooks. I’m a little lost for words actually. I’ve only met a few of Abby’s books but this one BLEW ME AWAY! My heart and soul are Wounded in the best possible way. I was not expecting to feel the amount of emotions I did.

From the initial hate/enemy feel to the inevitable falling in love I was RIGHT THERE! Abby’s words infiltrated me and pulled me right in so I was experiencing every single thing that the characters were. My heart cracked and then broke during devastating scenes that were written with such intensity.

My heart was rebuilt through beautiful, passionate scenes that also made my tummy flip and flop.

Liam and Bailey were so well written. As total opposites these two should not have worked but Abby managed to pull them together and she did it spectacularly. Both characters were so flawed, yet so beautiful, each fighting personal demons and trying to handle each others. Even when everything implodes and things are pulled to within the thinnest degree their love is UNDENIABLE. It burrows deep into your skin and flares hope and happiness that is then delivered just brilliantly.

Wounded, from start to finish is a breathtaking read that worms it’s way into your heart, grips tight and does not let go! 5 STUNNING stars!

I have never known a couple like these two. Their love story is so real. This isn’t just a story… could be me or you. So many touching moments, still so many belly laughs. And holy smokes! Corbin is the master of his sexual prowess. That hasn’t changed in ten years. If anything it’s even hotter! Even sexier. This man sent chills up my spine and had me running for a fan! He is sex walking. Then there’s Vi. So strong, so resilient. She’s a survivor and managed to take her horrible ordeal and turn it into something that empowered her. Damn if she didn’t make me cheer out loud for her throughout this entire story. She is Belle, Wonder Woman and Lois Lane all rolled into one!

I cannot begin to tell Kayla how much this book – in fact, this duet – meant to me. It is beautifully written, lovingly researched. It shows in every word that I read. It shows in how Vi and Corbin are still with me and how I still message Kayla to tell her how much I miss them. This is one duet you cannot miss. It is a must read! Thank you, Kayla, for letting me be a part of Vi and Corbin’s story.

Everyone that is a fan of the WILD Boys has been anxiously awaiting this book. The ultimate leader and best man in the group. John Franzen has been at the side of his men through everything. Review – Extra Credit by Poppy Dunne

I swear I have never laughed as much while reading a love story! This was so refreshingly honest and soooo funny. Swoony and sexy? Yes! I mean, it’s Will Munroe and he’s tall, dark and sex on two deliciously muscled legs. But the wonderful banter and ridiculous humor of Chelle Richardson make this one enjoyable read.

One crazy run in with the stuck up rich dude with a brute of a dog during her morning walk with her tiny dog Archie leads Chelle to a parent teacher meeting with tall dark and delicious at the school where she is a new substitute teacher. Amelia is the adorable child of the man with a nasty attitude but with the looks that kill. The attraction between the two is undeniable and red hot. But a relationship is absolutely forbidden for the substitute teacher looking for a permanent job and Amelia’s newly single dad. Throw in a very eccentric ex wife, clown parents, and well… pie… and this is one rom-com that made this reader very happy!

The sexy between Chelle and Will is toe curling. Just tingly! Will is quite the alpha but he’s met his match in Chelle. She gives as good as she gets and she turns Will on ear on more times than not. Nothing is more heart warming and more wonderful than a single father so absolutely dedicated to his child and Will certainly adores and dotes on his daughter. It only made me love Will more. The story is paced fanastically and again is so full of belly busting laugh out louf moments that I didn’t want the story to end.

This read was so much fun and just the recharge that I needed. I so enjoyed my time with Will, Chelle and Amelia. Two hits in Room Service and Extra Credit! Soon Poppy Dunne is going to become the Queen of Rom Com!

5 Laugh out loud and sexy single dad stars!

The first time I saw Will Munroe I had him pegged as a typical LA douchebag—a little too handsome, a little too rich, a little too into his probiotic kale smoothies. What do ice cream and Sadie Montgomery have in common? They’re both ice cold, but one taste is never enough.

I wanted to be friends — I would have even settled for her seeing me as anything but a nerd — but there was no getting through. So just like any hard-headed, red-blooded man out there, I made up my mind.

I’d make my coworker fall for me.

I’d like to say it was simple, but like every other epic love story, all it took was one drunken night and a lot of naked courage to get the girl. For a moment, at least.

Love with a coworker is never simple, especially since Sadie’s trying to keep us on the low. Not to mention her persistent ex-boyfriend who won’t leave her alone. But I’ve never been good at giving up, and I don’t plan to start now.

The whole thing is a recipe for a rocky road, but I plan to eat the whole gallon, no matter how bad the brain freeze.

Knowing I will probably regret this, I lift from the freezer, ice cream scraper in hand, and jerk toward Sadie just in time to slip on some melted ice on the floor shooting me across the fountain and straight into Sadie.

But not just Sadie; straight into her chest—her billowing, womanly chest. It’s a satisfyingly soft cushion for my head but from her instant outrage, I’m going to guess she’s not keen on me using her breasts as a pillow.

“What the hell are you doing?” she asks, trying to back away, difficult when I’ve got her pinned against the counter.

Fumbling to get some kind of grasp on my falling body, scraper still in hand, I give her a bit of motor boat—not on purpose—and muffle in her breasts, “I’m sowwy.”

“Get off me.”

“I’m twying,” I say, finally getting a grip on the counter behind her and standing tall. Glasses askew, hat on the floor, and a smothered feeling on my face, I straighten my apron and clear my throat. “My apologies.” Her friend is laughing, hand on her stomach, as I push my glasses back on my nose. “Although, I’m grateful for your sturdy bosom for catching my fall. It might have been a twisty straw to the eye, and I’m not sure my glasses would have held up on such an impact.”

Sturdy bosom? Shit, Andrew, don’t fucking say words like bosom. And for the love of God, don’t say a woman has a STURDY bosom. Say words like tits. Tits are more manly.

“Tits,” I mutter.

“Excuse me?” Sadie has the look of horror on her face.

Fuck, did I say that out loud?

“I think he said tits, Sadie,” her friend cuts in, thumbing through the straw holder. Yup, I said tits out loud.

“I heard him, Smills,” Sadie mutters under her breath.

Glaring at me, looking for an answer, I shrug my shoulders, because I have nothing. No way of digging myself out of this one. Funny how your brain can literally stop working the minute you need it the most. Come on, old fella, kick it into high gear. Come up with something witty, something snarky, something that will put a Band-Aid over this rather raw and embarrassing incident.

But, good fuck. I just had my face in her chest. What man could come back quickly from that?

“Well . . .” Sadie has her arms crossed over her bosom, waiting for an answer. No. Her arms are crossed over her breasts. Shit. Shit.

Nerves crawl up the back of my neck, igniting my ears into lava levels of heat. Crap. Just say anything.

Clearing my throat, I pat her shoulder and say, “Sturdy tits.”

And here I thought it couldn’t get any worse, at least my hand didn’t pat down her breast to see if her nipples were made of steel, or to see if her areolas consist of chain-link mesh. You have to look at the positive.

I love books bathed in darkness with a sliver of light, as they dig deeply into the depths of hell but somehow find a bit of heaven. Jay Crownover is a mix master of black, shadowy stories that still shine like gold, such as her latest romance, Avenged. Avenged is the perfect fusion of light and dark, heaven and hell, and sin and salvation. Scorching and spine-tingling, Avenged is the newest Jay Crownover sensation that is full of soul and steam!

This story struck me hard like lighting immediately, feels threatening to flood like a dam ready to break. I was CAPTIVATED from the first page, as Avenged UTTERLY CONSUMED ME, eclipsing me like the sun and the moon as this book covered me with darkness and light. I FELL HARD for Avenged a story that shook my soul with a force I did not see coming, but one that engulfed every emotion like a raging inferno. I LOVED every pulse-pounding minute! The mash-up of characters from several series was fresh and fun, making this story unique, but then again, Jay Crownover’s books are always one-of-a kind…just like her.

A master painter of stories of dark bled with light, I love Jay Crownover’s tales that are tarnished but so perfectly imperfect. Jay Crownover is one of those wondrous writers of brilliant books that break you, bind you, and brandish themselves to you forever. It’s that ‘Crownover Crack’ that hits me hard each time, where I’m rendered with the worst—yet best—emotional hangovers. I was the old me until I looked in the mirror after my shower and finally took the time to examine the still-healing slice across my throat. In a rare moment of clarity, I realized how close I had come to meeting my maker. The wound had been there, healing for months, but today was the day I really saw it and realized I no longer wanted to be the kind of man that deserved to have his throat slit open every time he was distracted and not on the defense. There was no way I would have a halo waiting for me on the other side; I had known that for a long time. It was always bound to be horns and a tail for me because I’d been actively courting my own corner in hell for as long as I could remember. I was the guy that had waterfront property on the lake of fire but I no longer wanted to watch the world burn. Those flames got too close and they were leaving scars on more places than my neck.

I wasn’t a guy that deserved a second chance.

I wasn’t a guy that deserved redemption.

I wasn’t a guy that deserved forgiveness.

I wasn’t a guy that deserved compassion or pity.

I wasn’t a guy that should have been rewarded with a shot to redo and retry everything I had done wrong…but I was a guy that was given that shot. And for whatever reason this morning, while I was looking in the mirror, I told myself it was time to stop squandering it.

I could be the guy that deserved forgiveness. I just had to work at it…harder than anyone else ever had.
