Todd Wallace has been called many things….

This has been long in the making and it didn’t disappoint at all. I’ve wanted very much not to like Todd. He was brash and aggressive. He didn’t know his limits and he blurred the boundaries with Brie. But as more of his life can to the surface, as more of his struggles and hardships began to be known, i grew fond of him. An accident changed his life and clearly not for the better. Todd finds himself lost and directionless. The Center and the Doms change him and give him purpose. But it’s Brie that truly is his guiding force, until one day Brie chooses another to be her Master. Todd must find purpose again but finds sickness instead. But in his sickness he finds friendship with Tono and love – with Mary. But mary has her own demons and those demons destroy what she and Faelan have. So once again Todd finds himself alone. But not as lost. Thanks to Rytsar, Faelan has a purpose. Brie is in danger and he must protect her at all costs.

As I read Faelan’s story, I was amazed at his transformation. His strength and courage. He went from the stalker that I hated to the Dom that I respected. His care for Brie in a time when she needed him as a protector warmed me. He embraced his responsibility with humility, stubborness and determination. Todd is so multi-layered, complex and compelling. On the one hand, he is in total command when he dominates. He has a presence that cannot be denied. He certainly had me squirming in my seat! Still, on the other hand he’s still the teenage boy that can’t move past the accident that took the life of another boy who never had a chance to live to his full potential. It’s a mistake that he simply cannot move from.

Todd has his own potential and his own life to live fully with love, friendships and family. He shows all of that here. Clearly his story is just beginning. There is so much more to come from this amazing man.

Amazing story! It simply stunned me. Seeing the family bond between the members of The Submissive Center was heartwarming and thrilling. These doms are faithful and true to their own. The ending blew me away and now? Now we wait. The best is coming. Fantastic!

Review – Fractured Love by Ella James

I finished Landon and Evie’s story today and simply sat back, sighed and let this phenomenal second chance love story sink into my heart and my soul. The Off Limits series is such an incredible look at love, loss, and triumph. With each book, Ella solidifies her lock on my love for her words and her ability to leave me breathless, stunned, gutted and so very joyful.

Landon Jones has had his fair share of hard breaks. Abandoned as a child and bounced from foster family to foster family, Landon has never found the place where he fits in. Though he is exceptionally brilliant and on the surface is an ideal child, he feels lost. Until Evie Rutherford enters his life. The Rutherfords change his life and Evie slowly feels the holes in his soul. Evie is drawn to Landon so forcefully, so powerfully. Even at seventeen, what grows between Evie and Landon is earth shattering. As addicted as they were to each other, I found myself so addicted to them I couldn’t move from my seat. I had to know more, see more, feel more from these two young lovers. The pain of watching these two come together and then be torn apart was so deep. Once again, Landon finds himself alone and abandoned and Evie must find a way to survive without the one person she knows holds the key to her everything.

The second half of the book sees these two back together. Older, maybe a bit wiser. Both are doctors – surgeons in the same cohort of residency. Regardless of the years and heartbreak… regardless of the missed opportunities and miscommunications, this is a love story that has to be seen through to its end. And it left me in awe, in tears, and amazed. The chemistry between these two still as strong as it ever was but these two fractured people have demons that they must face, questions that must be answered. But one thing for these two hasn’t changed. They love each other so desperately that nothing could keep them apart.

There were moments in this book where I found myself laughing. Other times I read with my heart in my throat. I left Landon and Evie with a smile on my face and a greater appreciation for love that blossoms even in the midst of horrible obstacles. Fractured Love moved me, made me reflect on my own impossible love story and the fight to grab that happy ending no matter the pain that may come along with it. Ella shows off her uncanny ability to draw a reader into her world and make the reader feel so a part of the story. The secondary characters are so vital to this story. Landon was very real to me – his pain, his unanswered questions, his needs. Evie was just as powerful and just as connected. Her pain, her struggle to face the past, her needs. All so very real. Amazing.

A beautifully written story, Ella James. I cannot applaud you loud enough. Fantastic!

Six Amazing Stars!

I was sixteen when he came to our house. Landon Jones, a boy with nothing, from nowhere. He had cinnamon hair and blue eyes—light blue, just like mine. When we went out as a family with my foster brother, people asked if Landon was my twin. He wasn’t. That year, we found out how much he wasn’t. When my parents caught us, they threw Landon out like trash.

Now I’m twenty-nine, a soon-to-be surgeon, like my mom and dad. I know residency is going to kick my ass, but I had no idea that it would rip my heart out, too. Not until I see him—Dr. Jones.

He steeples his fingers, looking over them at me like an old-school psychoanalyst.

“Why is that?”

My heart beats wildly. I whisper, “Because I want to see you.”

I can see my words hit his face. He looks surprised—and happy—and then, right thereafter, grave. “You can’t want that,” he says softly.

I’m surprised to find that I feel angry. “Why not? You do.”

“Yes, and I’m discreet, Evie. No one knows how much I need you. That I can’t sleep unless I sit here with you first. That I need the ride to school and home with you. I need to be near you. No one knows that. No one will ever find out.”

I reach for him, and Landon stares down at my hand before he takes it, cradling it in both of his.

“I know,” I whisper, looking into his gray eyes.

“I know you know. Because you know me.”

He leans down then, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me slightly up against his chest. He doesn’t kiss me, doesn’t even move, he just holds me up against him. I can feel his heart beat through the fabric of his T-shirt.

“Evie… Please,” he murmurs into my hair. “We have to be so smart about this.” His arms hold me tighter, even as he says, “There shouldn’t be a ‘this.’”

At the back of The Edge of Us, Veronica leaves a note to her reader. A note that includes the following…

“This is my fifth full-length romance novel, but a part of me feels as though it’s the one I’ve been meaning to write from the very beginning. It’s as if all my other stories were leading me to this one as I settled into my style and prose.”

No words have ever been more true. THIS is where Veronica Larsen has brought herself, The Edge of Us is what Veronica Larsen has worked towards and despite the fact her previous books have all been fantastic, she should never look back. The Edge of Us is THE BOOK. That book that truly brings a writer’s career to a point where they know where they are, they believe it and we as the reader believe it. This is Veronica’s best book to date, the best book of her life, and honestly I don’t think she’ll ever top it. The truth is, she shouldn’t want to. The Edge of Us, is deep, intricate, so damn raw, it’s vivid, visual and mesmerising and it stands alone, unreachable, and that’s okay. When people read it, they’ll realise. It doesn’t matter if this book can be topped what matters is the feeling it elicits in the reader. It doesn’t mean that her next book won’t be as good, I’m sure it will. But I believe deep down it won’t be THIS. What does matter though is that’s it’s one of the most outstanding reads EVER and my top read of the year.

There isn’t actually much I can say about the story, because it’s layered, it’s complicated, brutal, heartbreaking, breathtaking, beautiful and then some. Every page plays with your emotions and pulls at the deepest parts of you. At times words are like a strong, purposeful punch to the gut, other times, words are like a balm to the soul as they breath hope and life and fix all the broken pieces. A delectable push and pull is present from the very first page and it never wanes, if anything it grows stronger and more prolific, until it explodes and rules your head, heart and soul.

There are times I’m sure readers will hope for something that doesn’t happen, wish that something went a different way, I know I did, but Veronica weaves this story into you and, like I said, pulls every emotion out of you. She makes everything so real, you picture every burst of colour and every deep tangling web. You feel the pain and hurt, the lies and deceit, the love and devotion. Everything attacks all at once but it’s blissful and addicting. Like the strongest drug pulling you in deeper and deeper until there is only these words, only these characters, only this book.

The Edge of Us took me to my edge, it pushed my limits, broke and healed my heart. I couldn’t read fast enough and yet I never wanted it to end. I urge you to read this book, I urge you to go in blind, or as blind as you can, I urge you to trust Veronica, trust the words, I urge you to feel and experience. Because once you hit the end, it’s the best DAMN feeling ever.

There is nothing I love more than a second-chance love story!!! This is a special kind of love, one lost but never forgotten. This touching and turbulent tale was my KRYPTONITE.

I DEVOURED The Wright Mistake, downing it like a smooth shot of fine whiskey, and it devoured me. Its MAGNETIC PULL held me captive while its BUZZ MADE ME FEEL ALIVE. I felt this SPARK of a story streaming through me. Nothing else mattered. When you begin a book rolling in laughter, then alternate between snort-laughing and shedding tears in between, and finally end with a huge grin, you know that story is A KEEPER, one that wowed you! Oh did Twisted Twosome by Meghan Quinn Author WOW ME!!! This enemies-to-lovers tale is the best FUSION of FIRE and ICE!!!

Racer McCay is hot and humorous, a lethal combination. I admired this blunt, barrel-full-of-belly-laughs-inducing guy, who perseveres despite a rough life. Racer is a riot and I was DEAD…just DEAD from the outrageously entertaining moments. He is the ultimate PRINCE CHARM-YOUR-PANTIES OFF!!! I LOVED him so hard!!!

Racer. How can that name make every vein in my body tingle?

Georgina is sassy and smart, not the stereotypical rich girl. She is so much more!! She is fierce and independent, a woman who wants to go after her dreams on her own. This princess is both beauty and brains. I LOVED this warrior woman!!! Georgina gives as good as she gets.

The banter is hot and heated between these two fire-crackers of opponents, and I ACHED for MORE!!!

The INSTA-CHEMISTRY between Racer and Georgina is combustible as their combative dialogue is masked with desire. I could FEEL the hero and heroines' burn through banter blaze through me. HOT. HUMOROUS. HEADY. HEARTFELT.

"Tomorrow we can go back to bickering, but tonight, please help me see happiness, help me know what it's like to be free."

Racer and Georgina pulled me into their wave of passion where I felt it too. Twisted Twosome, this heart-stopping hurricane, hit my heart with a force I never saw coming, a force I was desperate to feel.

Did she feel it too? Did she feel the connection?

Oh did I FEEL!!! I felt this connection too. I connected so closely with these characters that their turmoil and triumphs felt like mine.

I FELL SO HARD for this romance, Twisted Twosome, a tale that twisted itself around my heart and never let go. This love story pulled on my heart…hitting it…hurting it…healing it. My soul soared, struck hard by this tender twister of a tale that thrust itself at me, emotions exploding everywhere.

Meghan Quinn flawlessly infuses humor and heart into her romances. The humor is perfectly timed to come in and hug the heart that's on the verge of breaking. I NEEDED those spells of snort-laughter in Twisted Twosome to dry the tears from the heart-wielding words that made me crumble. Oh did I SHATTER but oh did I SWOON and SOAR with pride too when these characters finally found their wings to fly.

Like a fine wine, Meghan Quinn's writing becomes even better with age. I can't decide if Twisted Twosome is my new favorite rom-com or if it's tied for first place with My Best Friend's Ex by Meghan Quinn as both SIX-STAR STORIES WERE EVERYTHING! How can Twisted Twosome not be a top read when Meghan brings the readers straight into the story?!? These characters pause from their interaction and switch to speak directly to the reader, which is highly engaging and personable, drawing the reader deeper into the story. I was IN DEEP…hook…line…sinker.

Twisted Twosome is a SLOW BURN of smolder, sweetness, sass, and strength. This love story is ENTICING and EXPLOSIVELY ENTERTAINING, one that will burst through you like sunlight: intense, hot and heavenly! Racer McKay is a broody bastard.

From the moment I met him, he’s been rude, irritable, and unbearable.

A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.

Racer McKay is also infuriatingly . . . sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time.

We try to stay out of each other’s way . . . that is until I have no other option but to ask for his help.

But what I don’t realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he’s desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

“Thanks for lunch, I haven’t had a fine peanut butter and jelly sandwich in quite some time.” Racer takes a giant bite from one of three sandwiches I made him. The man can eat; I just want to know where he puts it all. “What is this, crunchy peanut butter?” He looks over the sandwich, studying it intently.

“Yes, it’s crunchy with mixed berry jam.”

He nods and takes another bite. He talks with his mouth full, which for some weird reason makes him oddly adorable. “Nice touch, George. The peanuts add a nice texture.”

“Are you going all food critic on my PB and J skills right now?”

Lifting his shirt, he dabs away some of the sweat that’s collecting on his forehead, beneath his backward hat. His abs flex with the movement, drawing my attention. Each divot calling out to me to touch, to examine . . . to lick.

“I think every human should be judged on their PB and J skills.”

I pull my eyes away from his stomach just in time not to get caught staring. “Why do you think that?”

“Because,” he takes another bite, “I think building a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is in everyone’s repertoire, but only the truly skilled know how to make a proper one. And I want to be friends with the truly skilled.”

“Is that so?” I take a drink of my green tea and study him for a second, watching the way the muscles in his jaw move with each bite and swallow. It’s sexy.

His neck is sexy? Is that possible?

“So where do I land on your scale of sandwich artists?”

He smiles from my term, and I realize how much I adore his boyish charm. Pulling his eyes away from me, he examines one of the sandwiches I made him and starts assessing it. “Good ratio of peanut butter to jelly. Nice choice in bread. The crunch you added has been a pleasant surprise, and the mixed berry jam is fucking delightful.” I giggle from his girly term. “But . . .”

I perk up; there’s a but? “But what?”

He quirks his mouth to the side, almost to say, “Sorry, but you’re not quite perfect.” “The bread, it should have been toasted. Toasting it would have taken you to boss level when it comes to the PB and J.”

“Toasting it?”

He nods and takes another bite. “When you don’t toast a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the peanut butter and bread form a paste on the roof of your mouth. Even though it tastes good, it can get quite irritating.”

“But I didn’t have a toaster.”

“Rookie mistake.”

“Well, If I knew I was going to be critiqued, I would have sprung for bacon.”

He pauses mid bite and stares at me over his sandwich. “You’re a beast for bringing up the option.”

I polish off the rest of my sandwich and wipe my fingers. “Well, maybe next time you’ll communicate expectations better. I’m not a mind reader, Racer. Frankly, the fact I didn’t make boss level is on you, not me.”

I stand and gather my trash as he stares me down. “Don’t you turn this on me. You didn’t have a toaster. The toaster is what’s key. This is on you, Georgie. This is on you!” he calls out as I make my way to the back, laughing to myself the entire time.

Since I gravitate towards the first-person point-of-view (POV) format, it takes much more for the third-person POV format to get inside my head…to wow me. The detail must paint such a vivid picture and dialogue must be so abundant to where I'm so lost in the storyline that I forget what voice the story is told in and just become one with the words. Laurelin Paige wrote such a COMPELLING and COMBUSTIBLE story that I was lost in her words, embedded so deeply in Star Struck that I didn't want to let go.

Readers first met the heroine, Heather Wainright, in Take Two, the novel in the series that precedes this story. Heather was painted as a pampered princess, a demanding diva, and a self-centered snob. This Hollywood princess is beauty with brains, and much more than what she's been made to be. I loved watching this heroine morph from jilted caterpillar to formidable butterfly wearing new wings of compassion.

The hero, Seth Rafferty, is ALL ALPHA!!! He is so dominant and delicious!!! Mr. thigh-clenching-causing carpenter was my addiction!!! Seth is hot and humble, a lethal combination.

The banter between the hero and heroine is the best mix of SASS and STEAM!!!

"If you needed a drill, princess, all you had to do was ask."

"Don't call me that."

"Do you need a screw as well?"

Seth paired with Hollywood princess, Heather, makes for an arousing and rousing RUSH!!! This couple has chemistry in spades!!!

"It's because you act like a princess that I think you need to be a little bit manhandled."

The tension rolls off the pages, as the push and pull between the hero and heroine was a HEEDY and HEART-STOPPING SENSATION!!!

"I don't know what you want."

"Isn't it too bad you won't let yourself find out?"

The angst…the banter…the burn…I FELT IT ALL. PURE NEED…so INTENSE and INTOXICATING!!! Star Struck is smoldering hot with a huge amount of heart. I just didn't expect this story with sass and smolder to be so much more. The MORE being a message with both power and passion: RISE ABOVE. So simple but so soulful.

"What was that?"

"Loved."

I LOVED this Hollywood glam meets carpenter gruff romance! With its off-the-charts character development and combative chemistry, this love story is Emmy-worthy. I was UTTERLY SPELLBOUND with Laurelin Paige's words again!!! Star Struck struck my soul, sending it soaring! I was rendered STAR STRUCK!!! ❤️

BT Urruela was an infantryman in the US Army from August 2004 until February 2011. At the end of a year long tour to Baghdad, Iraq, his vehicle was hit by two roadside bombs, which took his right leg below the knee and the life of his commander. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his wounds, an Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Every single page of this book seduces the reader, seduced me, to a place filled with intensity and passion. Lust BURNS through this book so hot. Sin is raw and sexy and I powered through this book, highly addicted to the words laid out so visibly, so perfectly.

Emma is a master at writing formidable alpha males. But she’s also a master at writing formidable alpha FEMALES! All of Emma’s heroines are always strong, sassy, independent women who can hold their own over a dominating, powerful man, and Dahlia was no different! I loved her sass and her spark, I loved her honesty and her wit. She rocked this book and rocked Damien’s world!

Damien of course was just PERFECTION. A total a-hole but a loveable, cocky, sexy one. He made my heart go pitter patter and made my stomach feel like it was a club dancefloor. While I needed a trip to the Arctic to cool down from his dirty, DIRTY month. *sighs* He was perfect!!!!

Damien & Dahlia together are FIYAH. I cannot even begin to describe just how HOT these two are. Imagine a HUGE bonfire. Now add loads of fuel until it pops, bangs, grows and then explodes and THAT will only be half of it. It’s not even just the sex that’s hot in this book. it’s the rip-roaring connection the characters have that ramped this read. It was the INCREDIBLE, banter that made me sweat and swoon and that stoked my fire hotter. It was EVERYTHING!

There is nothing more exciting as meeting a new or new-to-me author’s words for the first time. It’s a HUGE HIGH like no other! Lorelei James’ writing is a fierce fusion of sugar and spice. CAPTIVATING and CHARMING, When I Need You hits the heart and blazes the body where you can’t help but MELT.

Jensen is PERFECTION!!! He is one HOT Swede who I pictured as Thor!!! His delicious dirty mouth is HEAVENLY!!!

This football star is an all alpha with a huge heart. You can’t help but FALL HARD for Jensen!
