The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I just popped my Nora Flite book cherry that was more of an explosion because HOLY ADRENALINE-FILLED ADVENTURE!!! After Our Kiss is HAUNTING and HEART-POUNDING, a hard-fought love story that will render you BREATHLESS!

The After Our Kiss Prologue broke my heart, sending it and me into a black hole in a story that sank into my soul from the start. As a mother, I was petrified. As a reader, I was utterly enthralled. As a romantic, I was hopeful.

This the tale of a man labeled a monster and a kidnapped girl who are thrown together, perhaps by fate, as they battle good and evil while wading through the dark to see the light.

I sensed his self-hatred. I recognized it because I’d worn the same uniform for years.

I broke for both a boy and girl robbed of a childhood….robbed of a family…robbed of innocence.

If I did end up in Hell, at least I’d find him there.

WOW…

Five hours it’s taken me to write this review. Five hours of thoughts, words & emotions that are wildly thrashing around inside me. I always find it a struggle to review the books that knock me off my feet and affect me deeply. Clandestine by Ava Harrison did just that. I was not expecting this book to role the way it did. I was not expecting this book to hit me as deep as it did. I am a whirlwind of EMOTIONS! I’m just OVERWHELMED.

Clandestine is hands down Ava’s best book yet. This is not a happy dancing rom-com and I wasn’t expecting it to be. With Ava you always know you will get your soul smashed and your heart broken, in the best way possible of course, but there was something about Ava’s writing in Clandestine that just draws you in and consumes you. I don’t think I’ve felt so connected to a female character in a long time! And I am SO IN LOVE with this male character that I feel like he’s printed on my marrow.

Olivia made my heart ache. The way Ava wrote her was sublime. Every woman will relate to Olivia in some way. Every woman will understand her, even if it’s just one part of her, she will connect with you somehow. All of her feelings and emotions are REAL. And they hit deep.

Spencer is a beast! He’s raw and powerful, cocky and ambitious, sexy and hella sinful, but he too is broken. Without even realising I fell hard for this hero super quickly. His sinful, swoony ways made it easy and as the book progressed I just couldn’t help myself.

But together they are intense, passionate and HOT. A raging inferno. Ava NAILS their connection from the very first time they meet.

Character aside, Ava delivers a hard hitting, emotional story that written so precisely. Ava handled all the topics this story touches on with dedication and care. The raw, intensity of Ava’s words made this already beautiful novel even more so. Clandestine is forever embedded in my heart.

What words to use to describe Jackson Cade? Bossy, arrogant… a total jerk. Demanding, foul mouthed and brutally honest. I absolutely loved him! With a capital L!

I admired her strength and her ability to stand up for herself and what she wanted. She is such a positive influence on Jackson, slowly changing the hardcore businessman into someone that she not only loves but likes. These two together are sinful, steamy and sultry! Their story made me breathless. More than once I sat back from my kindle and if I smoked, I would have grabbed a lighter and an ashtray.

This was one FANTASTIC debut from Kira Bloom! Auctioned is amazingly written and grabbed me from the beginning. The writing duo have created such great chemistry in this book and strong characters that I wanted to know. When I finished I wanted more from Jackson, Flick and the people around them. I’m excited to see what this duo has next up their sleeve. Wonderful read that I highly recommend!

Hot! This book is a MUST READ!

First the first page to the last sentence, NATE had me by the throat and would not let me go. I turned the pages of this naughty little read until there were no more words. One incredibly alpha mafia boss, the young girl that he saved and the attraction that should be off limits between them. Sounds like a story you’ve read a million times, yes? Don’t judge this man and this story by other cliches. If I had, I would have missed out on one ridiciously incredible read!

Nate Franco is not your regular hero. He’s cold blooded, commanding and at times, just plain scary. He’s loyal to men under his rule. They are his family and the underground syndicate of Philadelphia is his to rule as he sees fit. When he saved a young girl who was almost killed in a hit on her family, he took on another role – protector and hero to Sabrina. She becomes his ward and he does what he must to keep her safe from those who would see her dead. He never planned for Sabrina to go from that scared thirteen year old girl to a beautiful young woman of eighteen with her own plans and ideas of what she wants for her life.

And Sabrina wants Nate.

These two have amazing off the wall chemistry. From the moment he sets eyes on Sabrina, the attraction overwhelms Nate. She’s wise beyond her years. Smart and determined to have everything. It was hard not to admire her and I found myself cheering her on in her quest to get her man. Still Nate’s life is a dark one, filled with underhanded schemes, illegal activities and death. No matter how much he wants Sabrina away from his business, Sabrina has her mind made up. She wants Nate and everything that being his entails.

Oh, this was a wonderful change of pace for me and my first read from Celia. It most definitely will not be my last! The story was flawlessly written, flowed beautifully and kept me happy all the way through. Nate and Sabrina were just amazing together, and after a few chapters it didn’t remotely matter that Sabrina was very much younger than Nate. I very much hope that brothers Peter and David as well as Irish intern Angus get to tell their stories soon! The secondary characters made this book and had me wanting more pages, more history, just more!

Fantastic, Celia! You just got yourself a new fan!

Sometimes you can’t merely read a book; you have to live it. I LIVED THROUGH Rebel by Rebecca Yarros. The last story in the phenomenal Renegades trio, Rebel is a romance you live…breath…feel…experience. Oh did I experience everything! I FELT Rebel race through me…every single word!

Rebel is a HEADY HIGH, one I FELT the moment I began reading. This book made me BREATHLESS!!!There is no other way to read this stirring story except to do a deep dive, so I sank in until I could only feel the words. I plunged ALL THE WAY INTO this thrilling and tender tale, and loved every minute!

I’ve never been a toe-in-the-water kind of girl. I was a dive-headfirst-and-see-what’s-at-the-bottom girl.

I lived and breathed these characters that came to life before my eyes.

Bold, brave, beautiful, and badass to the bone, Penna may be my favorite heroine yet! Rebel is her name and it fits her like a glove! Penna holds her own in extreme sports, rivaling men in sport, smarts, and sass. Rebel has lady balls the size of balloons and I bowed to her! She gives as good as she gets and then some! I ADORED and ADMIRED this heroine so much!

I’ve never given a shit about rules. They called me Rebel for a reason.

I was IN AWE of everything Rebel! She was my idol!

I don’t go soft and doe-eyed for boys because I worked too damn hard to get where I am to be a piece of ass for some guy on the circuit.

Rebel has never had a man catch her eye until she meets gorgeous Cruz in Vegas one night where their attraction was unstoppable. Cruz is a gorgeous alpha and the perfect man fiery enough to capture this rebel gal, Penna. They would be perfect together if they weren’t teacher and student…off limits in every way.

The sexual tension is high. The pull is too palpable, too strong to ignore. I loved this most delicious angst!

If all I got was this one time to kiss him, to feel like he was mine, then I was taking advantage off every second. I kissed him back with everything I had.

That kiss was hot…on fire! It spoke so many words. That kiss was possibly the last. That kiss was EVERYTHING!

She was a magnet and I was a compass, my north facing wherever she moved to.

I MELTED from these oh-so-romantic words. I SWOONED so hard! Sweet and sensual are a lethal combination, one that hit straight to my core.

I thought Pax’s book was IT for me in this series until I met Rebel. Rebel was my KRYPTONITE, my ADRENALINE, my EMOTIONAL EXPLOSION, my EVERYTHING!

Maybe it’s because it was the last book, the last Renegades romance.

Maybe it’s because the Renegades, this family, felt like my family too.

Maybe it’s because of Rebel, truly a badass heroine among the best of the best!

Maybe it’s because the Renegades made me LIVE, leaping off cliffs into the unknown in a story and series that felt like a HUGE HIGH that never left.

Maybe its because that as I lived through this story, I felt so much too.

3 hours 52 minutes. That’s how long it took me to breeze through this book. I could not read fast enough and yet, I’m annoyed I read it so fast!

Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward is incredible. I feel as though every time I review a Penelope Ward book I sit in a state of blissful bookworm heaven and wonder how I’m going to say something I haven’t said before. I’ve been reading Penelope’s books for years now and I’ve literally ran out of good things to say about this woman and her books.

Drunk Dial once again proves that Penelope Ward knows how to write a story. It proves she knows how to captivate a reader and take them away to another world. In all honesty, when I started this book I wasn’t feeling it, something wasn’t connecting correctly but then I hit the 27% mark and I got the well known “Penelope punches” these are those feelings that you feel deep in your core, the feelings that drag you so deep into a story and start the rise of the eagles as they flap like crazy deep in your stomach. I ALWAYS experience these feelings from a book by Penelope, I’ve come to expect them, and I love to feel them and Penelope did not disappoint in delivering these.

Landon & Rana are something so special. They are two heavily broken souls who are so, so perfect for one another. I couldn’t get over their connection to each other and my connection to them. I smiled until my cheeks ached. I laughed so hard. I swooned like a pathetic teenager with an embarrassing crush. I cried at the pain of their pasts. I burnt up, I lusted, I LOVED.

Every second of Drunk Dial is exquisite. Once again Penelope has written a solid romance that is not only addicting and passionate but raw and beautiful. I loved it.

Oh Mercy! I LOVED THIS MAN of many layers but with a heart of gold that penetrated those layers the hardest…penetrating my heart too.

I MELTED, feeling the power and passion as I nearly fell to my knees, these beautiful words wrapping around my heart and squeezing my soul.

If she wanted it, she could have it. My hand. My heart. My life.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Debra Anastasia’s wonderful and wondrous writing, but I was a fool to procrastinate. Debra Anastasia writes from the heart where her heart is poured into beautiful and brilliant words. I felt Debra Anastasia through her words, the salt mixed with pepper. Dark laced with light . I just now need to devour her other masterpieces so I can feel the rest. How could I not feel those too?

Mercy is as heartbreaking as it is beautiful. My heart was bare, as this book bared its beautiful words to me…breaking me…burning me…burying me in a pile of feels. I was wrecked—ruined—as I cried for a broken hero and a family scare for the heroine that hit all too close to home. This SOUL-SHATTERING story struck me hard, this emotional explosion in words where I felt every word…I FELT EVERYTHING!

When you read a story that cuts through you like a knife, gripping you, gutting you, and rendering you raw, bare, and breathless, you can’t help but feel every word as if each were a slice to your heart and a song to your soul. My heart is still split wide open, aching for Mercy, bared to this BOOK THAT BLEW ME AWAY! This roller coaster of a romance is a ride of thrills and feels fused by fate, one where I almost screamed for mercy. I’m not sure how to write this review. Like I’m not sure how to full explain SHIFT to you at all. I have SO MANY good words swimming around in my head that could describe it but I feel that none of them are enough to actually make you understand what SHIFT is.

SHIFT takes us back to the ever magical and mythical world of greek Gods and their wars of love. Now I’m not a reader of the magical, mythical, fantasy type romances they just don’t do it for me. BUT these books do, you see, Staci blends all that magical, mythical stuff with modern, contemporary romance. These gods are soooo cool and up to date. It’s a compelling twist and mix of history, gods and humans, that just WORKS. So, so well. It also helps that these gods & humans are HOT!!!!!

I feel I should also make it clear that I am not a lover of 3rd person stories at all *gasp*. It’s true, I generally try and avoid them. Again they just don’t do it for me, I never fully feel connected to the characters or the story. BUT in SHIFT I honestly couldn’t have been more connected. The whole time I was reading I was so utterly captivated by the characters, invested in the games of love, in awe at the way this story was so passionately written. From beginning to end Staci literally sits you in the damn novel and everything around you disappears bar what is playing out on the pages…

You feel the blood, the sweat, the tears. You feel the heartbreak and pain. You feel the heat and the passion. You feel the love.

NOTHING is left unsaid in this story.

SHIFT is addicting. It’s pure magic delivered in a raw, compelling way. And this proves that every once in awhile you should step outside of your comfort zone and take a chance on something a little different. I have and I don’t regret a single second of it.
