This story is about me—the coach’s daughter.
When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university’s take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie—living with my father would be temporary, and he’d make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone.
Wrong on both counts.

ASSHOLES ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH.

A bet is placed, and I’m on the table. After one humiliating night and too much alcohol, I find the last nice guy on campus. And when he offers to rent me his spare bedroom, I go all in. It’s time for the nice guy to finish first.

Like a fighter on the mat, I was hit hard. MEMPHIS, this tender and thrilling tale, UNEQUIVOCALLY OWNED ME and was UTTERLY UNPUTDOWNABLE! I was CONSUMED by Memphis from the very first page, as every word made my HEART FLUTTER and my SOUL STIR.

Memphis, the man, oh where do I start?!? This man is gorgeous inside and out. Fire-hot and fearless. Memphis is so sexy … so stunning … so sweet … so WOW!!! I was under his spell. Review – One Too Many by Jade West

I waited so very eagerly for this book to arrive. After Bait, I didn’t think I would ever be ready for another Jade West story. I stalked Jade everyday for updates. The blurb so fascinated me and her naughty teasers kept me on the edge of my seat. Just waiting for this taboo story to arrive. The premise so deliciously wicked – the answer to all your problems comes with an indecent proposal… one night with your beautiful wife. No holds barred but with one condition. You have to watch every single moment.

Jade certainly did not disappoint. Brett, Grace and Thomas’s story is so utterly twisted, so shocking and so fascinating that I was unable to put it down. I didn’t want to step away and miss one single moment with these characters. I expected smutty, sordid and sexy with this story. And yes, with this threesome that’s all there and then some. What took me completely by surprise and had me shaking my head was how complex Thomas Heath was, how solid Brett and Grace Foster were and how one proposition rocked their foundation, and how the past really can mold someone for good or bad.

There are some things that can truly spoil a great marriage. Sex and money… too little of one and not enough of the other most certainly will destroy what was once amazing. That was Brett and Grace. They threw everything they had into a dream and a hotel on the coast. They had big dreams for success and family only to watch as those dreams slowly but surely wash out with the tide. Bills piling up and their relationship strained to its breaking point, everything changes when a stranger checks into their modest little hotel on the coast.

Secret needs are revealed. Secret wants are unveiled. I watched this story develop and bloom with so much intensity and raw brutal honesty. It was breathtaking, exciting and thigh clenching. Hell, it was filthy, foul and eye opening. There is definite sexy attraction with these three. Chemistry and even a sense of camaraderie if it can be believed. Until that is gone and something else seeps in. Then something else happened. This book became a story of deeply held pain, regrets, and a chance at redemption.

Jade once again penned a beautifully written tale. Bold and daring. It left me gutted and sobbing, heated and fanning my face. I turned those pages until there was nothing left but an epilogue that only made me dare to hope for more later. This was amazing and so very well done!

Review – Then There Was You by Claire Contreras

This was stunning. This was Claire Contreras at her FINEST. As much as Rowan said that he did not bleed, my heart bled, broke and sighed for him and for Tessa. The twists and turns in this story had me on the craziest, most intense roller coaster of emotions. From overwhelming love, to white hot anger, to profound sadness… to the unbelievable ending that rocked me right off my feet and left my jaw hanging to the floor.

Rowan was born with his duty hanging over his head. He was raised and well groomed to know his place at the head of the family business, taught to forsake all things that could possibly make him happy… friends, fun, and yes, love. His responsibility to family would take him away from the girl that he couldn’t stop himself from wanting. Tessa knew in her heart that she belonged with Rowan. She wanted him as much he wanted her, but like Rowan she had responsibilities, too. Her dreams would lead her away from home to an Ivy League education but would destroy her own family in the process. Returning home from school with her family in ruins she wants nothing to do with Rowan but can’t seem to stay away from him, even though she hates him almost as much as she loves him. There’s no denying the chemistry between them, no putting off the inevitable reunion even if that reunion ends in heartache.

When his family gives Rowan an ultimatum, he has to decide between duty to his legacy and the love that will change his life. Decisions have consequences and the cliffhanger ending of this book is so ridiculously painful that it took my breath away, broke me and left me a sobbing mess, clamoring for the next book and sending messages to Claire to PLEASE hurry, hurry, hurry!

Then There Was You consumed me, left me in a daze hours after I had finished the last words. The secondary cast in this book are so much a part of the angst driving this story. The family business takes on a life of its own and I found myself resenting it. There were moments when I was so frustrated I was screaming at my kindle and moments when the romance and remembrance of sweet times past left me smiling. This story is brilliant, beautiful, ugly and bitter all at the same time.

And I want more.

Well done, Claire.

Love and the right timing were two things I didn’t believe in.

Love is about walking to the edge of the cliff and taking the leap together.
Timing was never on our side.
My first mistake was hooking up with my best friend.
My second came years later, when we met again, and I fell for her.

“There’s no one at my parent’s house except for me.” He raised an eyebrow. “My brother is moving from his apartment to a bigger house, so he’s been going by there to pick up the last of his things, but that’s about it. I’ve barely seen him.”

I frowned. “So why are you staying there?” And where were his parents living? I didn’t want to ask this, of course, but I was dying to know.

“I’m waiting for construction on my apartment building to be complete. It should be move-in ready by October.”

“Hm.”

All sorts of questions popped into my head, but I pushed them aside. They’d go unasked because I didn’t want to answer any more of his. Thankfully, he clicked for the iron gates that guarded his house to open and drove in, not pushing for an answer. My eyes stayed glued on those gates as we drove past them. They were like something out of a Richie-Rich movie, those gates, black with a gold emblem in the center. I’d seen them countless times, pushed them open in the middle of the night more times than I could count. I tore my eyes away and looked up at the house. I hadn’t expected to feel such gripping emotion over a damn gate, but I guess some things never stop piercing your heart, no matter how much time passed.

“I’ll be right out.”

I nodded once and leaned against the seat before he jogged inside. I closed my eyes, trying to figure out how my trip had gone from closing a chapter in my life to being stuck in the middle of my epilogue. When Grandma Joan called me with a guilt trip, telling me to come spend a couple of weeks with her, I’d taken her up on the offer for two reasons: I was the only one left who hadn’t packed her room and taken the boxes to the storage unit, and I missed her and this place. I missed the days I used to come here and feel like I was home. I missed the slow pace that came with a life here in Ithaca, nestled inside the city, but surrounded by nature and the water.

Thinking about those days also brought memories of Rowan. Kissing Rowan, holding hands with him, laughing with him in our canoes, but with the positive came the negative. He and I were never meant to be more than friends, and even friends was questionable. Friends didn’t lie or omit important things. My eyes popped open when I heard the front door shut. I watched him take the steps two at a time and stride toward me.

He slid into the driver’s seat, dropped one of the two bottles of water he’d been carrying into my lap, and shot me a wink. I scowled, clutching the water and facing forward. Just because I’d taken him up on the ride didn’t mean we were suddenly going to be chums again. Far from it. I wouldn’t fall for those mischievous eyes. I wouldn’t fall for the panty-dropping grin either. I wouldn’t fall. Not again.

Review – Unraveled by KM Neuhold

I was late to the game in discovering this series, but I am catching up. I can’t believe I have been missing out on such a fabulous series all this time. I am reading them all as fast as I can. I can’t seem to get enough. I fell in love immediately with Max and Clay.

Max and Clay have been best friends and roommates for years without realizing they were living with the love of their lives. They were there for each other in every way possible until one day they throw caution to the wind and sparks fly! They discover that what they have is real and true.

When Max finds out that his ex is moving across the country with his daughter, he is heartbroken. The only thing he can do to still see her regularly is uproot his life and move. The problem is Clay is not up for the move. They soon find themselves broken and lost. Can Clay muster up the courage to take a chance on love?? You have to read to find out.

Once again a phenomenal read by KM Neuhold. I can’t wait for more.

Every dish in the kitchen is piled on the table, while I stand on a chair to scrub the insides of the cabinets.

Maybe I can strip and re-stain the wood; that would look nice. Although, I doubt there’s any stripper or stain in the house, so I’d have to go to the hardware store. I glance at the clock on the stove. There probably aren’t any hardware stores open at three in the morning.

Something soft bounces off the back of my head, pulling me from my thoughts. I glance down to see what hit me, and I frown in confusion. I must be more tired than I thought because I can’t for the life of me figure out what a random sock is doing lying at my feet.

“What the hell?” I mutter, trying to suppress a yawn.

“I figured you must be a house elf on crack, so I was trying to set you free.”

I snort a laugh and glance over my shoulder to see Max standing behind me in nothing but a pair of pajama pants. I force myself not to let my gaze linger on his toned chest or his adorable, sleep rumpled hair.

“Very funny.” I roll my eyes and yawn before turning back to continue my task.

Strong hands grasp my waist and, before I know it, I’m being scooped up into Max’s arms and carried to my bedroom. I’m more excited than I have any right to be when Max lowers me onto my bed without so much as jostling me.

“Sleep,” he says with authority. I roll my eyes at him.

“I can’t sleep; that’s why I was cleaning.”

He sighs and looks down at me with a conflicted expression.

“What would help?”

A release— something to calm my mind for a few minutes.

“Nothing you can help me with,” I toss back with agitation. “What if I climb into bed with you—”

“Keep talking,” I encourage with a salacious grin.

“Dirty mind,” Max accuses with a chuckle. “What I was saying was, why don’t I climb into bed, and we can pull up something boring on your laptop. I bet that’ll help you fall asleep.”

He’s not wrong. It’s the only thing that helps some nights. And, truth be told, it’s more about the feeling of Max’s warmth beside me and the steady rhythm of his breath as he sleeps.

“Thank you.”

“Anytime,” Max assures me before grabbing my laptop off my desk and climbing into bed beside me.

Review – Until Harmony by Aurora Rose Reynolds

From the very beginning of this book, I knew that Harlen and Harmony were going to be so very special. I was so not disappointed at all in the love story between Nico’s little girl and the bearded bad ass. I was swept under from the very first page and found myself sighing and stupidly smiling as these turned their relationship from that of very best friends to a love that set the pages on fire.

Harmony is so different from all the previous Mayson girls. She’s a planner, a thinker… she’s practical and thrives best when she’s in control. I admired her strength and determination. We meet her when she has finished nursing school and wants to return home to work and be closer to her parents and family. She had met Harlen previously and was drawn to him. She took care of him and he was just as drawn to her. But he understood something so important – he had to build a solid foundation with Harmony or he would never have a chance to love her the way he wanted to.

The greatest love is most definitely built on the greatest friendship. Harlen is someone that I wanted to be friends with. He’s loyal, protective, so very caring. Quiet and steady in his own way. But alpha – definitely alpha. He fits into the Mayson clan like a hand fitting into a leather glove. Perfectly. When he decided that he wanted Harmony and that he was tired of waiting, Harlen stopped at nothing to make Harmony his. The girl never stood a chance when the BOOM came. It was awesome!

Oh, this book is classic ARR. Sassy, sexy, and sensual. The chemistry that Harlen and Harmony have is just as white hot as their friendship is unbreakable. It’s so heartwarming and so easy. The Mayson’s have such a strong bond. Family is everything to them. It’s so wonderful to feel that bond throughout the series. Each book only solidifies those ties that the Mayson’s have built.

This story was wonderful. Terrific pacing, an amazing love story. Seeing Nico and Sophie is always such a treat – they love their children so very much. Plus there’s that extra little tease at the end. Cobi can’t get here fast enough.

FANTASTIC, Aurora! BOOM!

Review – Paradise Found by Sarah O’Rourke

I loved taking a trip back to Paradise! From the very beginning, I was in love with Ben. He is definitely what I would describe as the perfect man. Second chance romances are my absolute #1 favorite trope ever. Sarah absolutely delivered, proving yet again why I love them so much.

Sami is a top notch model working for Cordova, who Ben doesn’t think is good enough for Sami because of the way they treat her. She absolutely loves her life though. Her and Ben are extremely happy and in love, planning a wedding. The next step is having children. When Sami gets devastating news from her doctor, she knows that she has to let go of Ben. It breaks her heart but she loves Ben so much that she doesn’t want to hold him back from the future he envisions. She also knows that the truth can’t be told because he will give up his dreams for her which she doesn’t want. She believes he deserves complete happiness that she can’t provide.

Ben is completely in love with Sami. She is his world. He would move heaven and earth for her. Do when she comes home one day and breaks their engagement in the meanest way possible, his heart is shredded. I wish I was there to console him because Ben is the most perfect male specimen ever! He doesn’t want to let go without a fight which makes what Sami has to say to him even worse because she knows he would compromise everything to be with her.

A few years later, Sami’s life is falling apart and her best friend is still in Paradise. She and Mannie road trip to Paradise to bring her home. She is in for a huge surprise when she finds that not only is her best friend happy there but Ben is living there as well. She is now in for the ride of her life because Ben is not letting her get away again. Thanks to Viv telling him the real reason Sam left him, Ben is determined to make her his forever.

Even if you haven’t read any of the other Paradise books, you can absolutely read this as a standalone. I do highly recommend you read the others at some point though because they are all 5 star reads. I can’t tell you enough how much I loved this book! ❤❤

Of course, that wasn’t Ben’s fault and being a bitch to him now wouldn’t get her job back. “Thanks,” she muttered, “It’s not quite as perky as it once was, but I try to keep it in shape.

“Trust me, babe, your ass is as gorgeous as it ever was,” Ben assured her with a playful wink.

God, was she imagining things or was he actually flirting with her? Mentally giving herself a sound slap on the back of her head, Sami knew she couldn’t let her thoughts wander in that direction. She needed to cut this painfully familiar banter off now. “That doesn’t answer my other question, Ben . Why are you following me?” she questioned impatiently as she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and turned to face him.

“I’m following you because I think you and I have some things to discuss,” he answered evenly. “In fact, we’re long overdue on having a chat, don’t you? It’s time we hash some things out between us.”

Automatically shaking her head, Sami backed up a step, wholly unprepared to go down that road with Ben. “Uh, I don’t think that’s a good idea, Ben. I think we said everything we had to say to each other three years ago, didn’t we?” she asked before turning and resuming her walk down the street.

Review – Ever After by Riley Hart and Christina Lee

Leave it to Riley Hart and Christina Lee to deliver a fairy tale like no other. This beautifully crafted masterpiece is one that needed to be written. They did an amazing job composing this story and portraying that love is love, no matter who you are. Just because you are royalty doesn’t mean you have to fit society’s view of normal. This was one of those books that puts your mind in the fairytale setting and makes you feel as though you are part of it.

Prince Merrick is being pressured into finding a wife to produce an heir to the throne. Merrick is hiding a huge secret though. He has no interest in finding a woman. His other half would preferably be a man of his dreams. When Cassius is assigned to be his new valet, the sparks fly and the attraction can’t be ignored.

Cassius works for the royal family to provide for his family. Since his father died, he is the breadwinner for his mom and sisters. He can’t do anything to jeopardize that. However he can’t resist the stolen moments between him and the Prince. What they share is undeniable and dangerous. He can’t afford to lose his job if the King and Queen find out what he and the Prince get up to when alone.

When the Queen throws the ball for Merrick to find his wife, everything goes to hell in a hand basket. This spells disaster for Merrick and Cassius. Can they overcome this barrier or are they doomed from the start?

This book is a must read. I read it in one sitting. I was on the edge of my seat hoping against hope that they would get their happy Ever After. Riley and Christina once again blow me away with their beautifully co-written work.

“Now you are all set,” Cassius remarked, slipping the national Evergreen sash over Merrick’s neck and adjusting it over his shoulder.

Merrick was entertaining the Duke of Cairn this morning for brunch. The king would be joining them this afternoon for ice fishing on the property. Apparently, the royal family of Cairn were avid fishermen, and when the king mentioned it a few weeks back on his visit, Merrick’s father told them about Evergreen’s abundance of freshwater trout. Merrick did not exactly enjoy the sport, but Cairn was Evergreen’s closest ally, and it was important to entertain them properly while they discussed pressing matters, including Merrick’s royal visit to their lovely countryside in the coming months.

“At breakfast I overheard the cooks going on about how handsome the duke is,” Cassius mentioned casually as he smoothed down Merrick’s coat and then picked at some lint on the lapel.

The change in topic threw Merrick, and when he did not respond, Cassius glanced up curiously at him. Merrick smirked as he wrapped his hands around Cassius’s waist and pulled him closer. “You are jealous.”

“Of course not!” he declared as his neck turned beet red. “I was only relaying the gossip in the castle.”

“Hmmm, that’s very peculiar since you’ve never seemed to be affected by gossip before,” Merrick remarked, backing him against the wardrobe, the innocent look in Cassius’s eyes completely charming.

“What are you doing?” Cassius asked, his gaze flashing toward the closed chamber door.

“I don’t give a flying fig whether the duke is handsome or not. I have never paid him any mind.” Merrick kissed his cheek. “What I do know is that a stunning man is standing before me, driving me completely mad. And I long to take his prick into my mouth.”

Cassius gasped and swayed toward him. Merrick wondered if Cassius felt just as feverish after spending such a sweet and intense moment in the woods the other day. He only dreamed to know more of him before it was too late.

“It is all I thought about last evening after you left me in the parlor room with the conservation committee,” Merrick added with a groan as he gripped the waistband of Cassius’s trousers. “I want you in my bed every night. In my arms. But I know it is an empty wish.”

“We…shouldn’t,” Cassius replied in a gruff voice even as he sank against Merrick, his prick already hard as the steel jousting stick on display in the Great Hall. “You make it quite difficult to properly concentrate on my duties.”

Merrick drew back immediately, searching Cassius’s eyes. “I am sorry. I do not want you to feel any sort of regret.”

“Never.” Cassius grasped Merrick’s hand and placed it against the bulge beneath his zipper. “But now I shall go around all day with the front of my pants uncomfortably tight while you socialize with the handsome duke.”

Merrick hissed and then promptly dropped to his knees before the valet.

Riley Hart is the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s a hopeless romantic, a lover of sexy stories, passionate men, and writing about all the trouble they can get into together.

She loves reading, flawed characters, and hanging out with her husband and children, who she adores. She and her family live in Southern California, soaking up the sunshine while also missing seasons. Not a day goes by that she isn’t thankful she gets to wake up and do what she loves.

Here I sit after finishing Breathe You by Celeste Grande, my heart still beating to the tune of this BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN BOOK. Breathe You blasted through me like countless cannons catapulting my heart, a heart that pounded out of my chest, where every word pierced me everywhere. Tears were etched in my eyes from the emotions that escaped all over the pages like raindrops. I SHATTERED into pieces!!! This heart-clenching tale crushed me so hard that I found it hard to breathe. Breathe You was my SOUL STORM, my sun that shattered the dark clouds, my heart and soul in words.

My light—gone.

Live.
Me.
I did. That was why I was dying.

Eva is as brave as she is beautiful, and as she goes to battle to bring herself back from the dead, I felt like a friend beside her in her ear of healing. I adored this strong heroine more with every page as she found herself after being so lost.
