Review – Ego Maniac by Vi Keeland

You know what’s amazing? In the alphabet there are 26 letters. Those 26 letters get mashed about or organised, which ever way you look at it and form words. Words then form sentences. They form paragraphs. They form stories. In fact they form everything. Think about it, there is always a word for whatever you’re feeling, experiencing, seeing. Whether you can think of that word straight away or you have to sit with your feelings there is always a word. Formed simply, from those 26 letters. I’ve sat a while and tried to think of the best word, the one word that will capture everything I want to say. I’ve tried mashing and organising those 26 letters into something, anything. And the only thing I can come up with is PHENOMENAL.

My skin, my blood, my heart and soul are ALIVE. From around 19% when the tingles started to now, while I sit here with tears streaming down my face, I feel ALIVE. Ego Maniac was perfectly poignant, breathtakingly beautiful and sinfully sexy.

Just before hitting the halfway mark I realised that this book was my new Vi Keeland favourite. Every time I read a new Vi book I sit and say “Oh this is my favourite Vi Keeland book yet”, but the thing is Vi’s books get better and better each and every time, how can it not become my favourite?

CONSUMED. With love. That’s what I am. CAPTIVATED by a stunning, raw, powerful read. BUZZING from head to toe, NEEDY, from some of the most SPECTACULAR feels, probably ever. I have fallen HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE with Drew Jagger. The six foot two and a half, two hundred and five pounds ego Maniac pushed all my buttons, stole my breath and overtook all my senses. The cocky, arrogance oozed from Drew and I inhaled every last drop of it.

Drew Jagger can literally show me his moves ANY DAY of the week. He can also sweet talk me any which way. I’m pretty sure my knees went weak as often as Emerie’s.

Speaking of Emerie, the sexy, sassy redhead is now my favourite Vi Keeland heroine. She made me laugh, she made me feel. I believed every single ounce of her charm and connection to Drew. And my gosh, that connection. HOT, RAW, PASSIONATE. I felt every sizzle, every spark, every intense pull.

It took me 5 hours to devour Ego Maniac, and if you ask me that was way too short. I hit the end way too soon, I could easily stay in the world of Drew and Emerie forever. Because somewhere between the fighting and the clothes-ripping angry sex, I have fallen madly in love with an Ego Maniac and his fiery, Oklahoma girl. And it turned out to be exactly what I needed.

Fantastic and FLAWLESS. Ego Maniac brings all the feels and more. No amount of stars will EVER correctly rate this novel.

Review- Maddox by Alta Hensley and Maggie Ryan

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I am so excited for the rest of this series after reading this. I fell in love with Maddox and Adira. They are both extremely strong characters and Maddox is alpha as can be. I absolutely loved every bit of his dominant side. It was sinfully delicious.

Maddox Steele is from a family that includes 2 brothers and their father. They are essentially a lethal team that you don’t want to get on the bad side of. They are the good guys though. They have a safe house on their ranch that they bring people to keep them safe. They are on a mission that others believe is to buy stallions from a prominent family in Dubai. The real mission is to get Adira out and keep her safe. Maddox has no idea that he is a goner as soon as he lays his eyes on Adira.
Adira has no idea that she is in danger. When her world gets flipped upside down, she has no choice but to obey when Maddox gives her orders. The rest is history.
This was a great collaboration between two extremely talented authors. I will be counting down the days for book 2.

Review – Hollywood Prince by Kim Karr

Hollywood Prince by Kim Karr is a total royal treat. One I was fully engrossed in and one I ended up falling head over heels in love with.

This ‘series’ of standalone books are my favourites of Kim’s. I feel so connected to the characters and I am in awe at Kim’s writing, which just goes from strength to strength. Each book, while featuring new characters, holds so many similar aspects to the others that just pushes my love up higher and higher.

As always Kim’s story telling was flawless. For me, it’s hard not to fall in love with Kim’s books, they captivate me, they give me everything I look for in a book. And she writes some of the most swoony, delicious hero’s I’ve met! After meeting Cam & Keen, I was incredibly excited to meet Brooklyn. Luckily for me Kim did not disappoint. If anything she gave me SO MUCH MORE than I was expecting.

I absolutely ADORED the friends to lovers aspect of this book, the tension between Brooklyn and Amelia was to die for. Everything about them sizzled and popped and just excited me. From their obvious connection to the flirty banter to the dirty talk, everything was OH SO RIGHT!
I keep saying it, but now, I think this is my favourite Kim Karr book, from the cover, (OMG THE COVER THOUGH!) to the story, to the characters #Brookmelia, to the very last page, Hollywood Prince was the ultimate star of the show!

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved a good fairytale where I could pretend to be a princess and marvel in magic. Today, my favorite fairytales are romance books, love stories with a hard-fought happily ever after where the prince and princess may not be perfect but are perfect for each other. I live and feel fantasies through love stories like Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley. Spellbinding, sexy, and sweet, Rock Chick Reawakening is a fiery fairytale of strength that sweeps up your heart in one magical and moving love story.

From the start, I was swept up in this romance like Cinderella getting ready for the ball. I WAS ALL IN THIS FAIRY TALE…hook…line…sinker. The synthesis of sweetness, sorrow, and strength that streamed from the pages both mesmerized and moved me.

It didn’t take me long to realize a few things: First, I was a fool for waiting so long to meet a Kristen Ashley book. Second, this story only scratched at the surface as I’m still aching for more. Third and finally, I need to go meet the rest of this amazing author’s brilliant books since Kristen Ashley definitely lives up to and exceeds the hype.

One of the strongest heroines I’ve ever met is Daisy, and oh did I love her so! With the looks of Marilyn Monroe meets Dolly Parton, this blonde, blue-eyed, and busty beauty has sass and strength in SPADES! Daisy is a stripper, yes, but also a Southern lady with a huge heart.

“I’ve been knocked down. Again and again. I just kept getting up. And I was still standing, in platforms, with great hair.”

Daisy has had a life of hell and battled back like a warrior woman. Tragedy after tragedy has only made Daisy stronger. Her most recent tragedy has a dark hero, Marcus Sloan, surfacing to protect her and her fragile heart.

“In terms I hope you understand, darling, in fairytales, the prince vanquishes the wicked queen. The evil stepmother. The malicious goblin. In real life, Daisy, to avenge wrong done to his princess, if the need arises, the prince puts a bullet in somebody’s brain.”

Dark hair, blue eyes, tall, handsome, a bit dangerous, intense, commanding, and caring, the story’s hero, Marcus, and his many layers were PURE PERFECTION. This hardened man had a soft heart, which made my heart go pitter patter a lot.

“I’ve been waiting thirty-five years for you to come into my life, Daisy.”

It was love at first sight, for the romantic Marcos. THIS MAN…JUST SWOON!!! I soared to the clouds every time this man uttered a word to Daisy. SIGH!!!

“He kissed me. It was soft and it was sweet. But it was more.”

Marcus has to convince Daisy to be his princess. More importantly, he has to convince her that he she is as beautiful inside as out.

“You’re the woman for me, which means, darling, I’m the man for you.”

I could not stop swooning at this amazing man’s sweet yet sincere words to Daisy. Marcus sees Daisy as so much more than a stripper. Daisy is sass, strength, and sparkle.

“Nothing a little sparkle won’t fix.”

Daisy is heart and her own hero. This super woman didn’t need a superman to rescue her; she needed a hero who understood and loved all the parts of Daisy. Oh was Marcus that hero! I LOVED my dark prince, Marcus, from the very start. Like Daisy, Marcus is a man of many layers and roles: strip club silent partner and one of Daisy’s bosses, multi-business owner, modern day vigilante, and protector of his princess, Daisy.

“Marcus Sloan wasn’t like a dream. He was just a dream.”

Rock Chick Reawakening was a dream…MY DREAM. This story is the best potion of SWOON, SEXYINESS, SWEETNESS, AND STRENGTH IN SPADES. Rock Chick Reawakening is Cinderella but better. This book is PURE BLISS. Kristen Ashley transported me to a feel-worthy fantasy world and I loved getting lost in her wondrous words.

I felt my Southern roots from head to toe, I felt that badass sass, I felt butterflies fluttering in my tummy from the swoon and sweetness that oozed off the pages, and I felt strength from these characters of steel. This story is a fairytale of feels, and oh did I feel everything! I FELT ALL THE FEELS. I FELT ALL THE LOVE. Rock Chick Reawakening ROCKED MY WORLD! Kristen Ashley is a rock star writer and new favorite author of mine; I’m her new biggest fan.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Chills ran through me. My breaths were bated. My pulse raced. My heart quickly broke as tragedy struck…again and again. Tears streamed down my face as waves of despair crashed through Lily, crashing through me.

I was rendered powerless to this story’s power, its force, which awakened everything inside of me: body…mind…heart…soul.

NAKED TRUTH: I regret sitting on Colleen Hoover’s books and hoarding them for so long…I’m embarrassed that I did not jump on all this CoHo book bliss sooner.

I finally met a Colleen Hoover book and oh what a roller coaster of a romance it was! My soul was slayed and my heart was hit hard…one hurricane of feels and a soul storm that won’t leave me! I FELL FAST. I FELL HARD. I FELL IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING IN IT ENDS WITH US.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Colleen Hoover’s wonderful writing, but I was a fool to procrastinate. This author is one of my new favorites: those who write from the heart where their hearts are poured into those beautiful and brilliant words. You live and breathe these authors’ stories where you can feel their hearts imprinted all over their wondrous words.

Review – Drunk on Love by S.L. Scott

Drunk on Love by S.L. Scott

I feel as though I’m glowing. Maybe it’s because I’m drunk on Drunk on Love. Maybe because this new release from SL Scott was so light, fresh and fun. Not to mention really sexy and oh so hot!

Hardy & Virginia are just so likeable. So easy to connect with. From the first meet they have a very strong, very intense, passionate connection that just SIZZLES and BURNS!

I ADORED that this book was written from Hardy’s POV, the all male outlook was so refreshing and powerful. He dragged me so deep into his story, into his heart and now he’s fully in mine. SL writes such good male characters that you can’t help but fall for, although this has a bigger comedic feel from her other books, the standard of the male character is still just as strong. Just as loveable and oh so adorable.
Drunk on Love is so uplifting, the storyline so different from many others. SL writes the whole thing so fluidly, so flawlessly, so beautifully. Everything about it, from beginning to end made me smile and it gave me all those warm, fuzzy feels.

Drunk on Love is an outstanding read that is worth so many more than the 5 stars I can give!

There are only two rules:

1. Don’t get too close.

2. Don’t fall in love.

Correction: Don’t ever fall in love. I don’t need the baggage of relationships. Life should be simple, easy, uncomplicated.

The problem I’m faced with is, if I really believe life should be that easy, that uncomplicated, and that simple, then why am I still thinking about a woman I met on a random Tuesday at the bar? A girl who was never a Gimlet, and always a Paloma. Yep, I called it all wrong last night and I’m starting to wonder if my heart will pay the price.

I might have broken rule number one, but rule number two remains firmly intact. For now. Sort of. Okay, maybe rule two hasn’t been broken, but it’s definitely been bent.

The Landry brothers are slowly but surely becoming some of my favorites! Swoony, sexy… so so sexy. So much swagger and determination to have the women they crave. Lincoln – Mr. Baseball himself – is absolutely no exception.

Lincoln is a talented athlete with so much heart. His love for his family is only rivaled by his love of baseball. After living in the shadow of a high powered politico, a financial wizard and a decorated solider, baseball is the one thing that Lincoln feels he is good at… the only way to stand out, and now that’s in jeopardy because of a terrible shoulder injury. But then he meets Danielle and she changes everything in Lincoln’s world.

Danielle spends her days caring for sick children. She never expected the delightfully delicious Lincoln Landry to show up on her ward and tilt her world on its axis. She has her own reasons for staying away from baseball players – especially players like Lincoln. She doesn’t plan on giving Linc a chance to change her mind about seeing him. She fights the temptation…. and fights some more. But Lincoln Landry is no quitter – on or off the field.

These two are so sexy and sensual together but also so side splitting funny as well! Lincoln and Huxley together are absolutey HILARIOUS! How could Dani resist those two? Lincoln is relentless with his dirty mouth, delicious body and over the top boyish charm. Danielle is just one of Adriana’s best leading ladies because she’s real, determined and so compassionate. The chemistry between these two is so right from the very beginning. They balance each other and Dani fits so very well into the Landry family. They simply opened their arms and welcomed her in. How could you not love them?

I finished this Landry book feeling just glorious! Lincoln and Dani were so refreshing and so much fun to read! Even when they faced some obstacles to being together, they still had my heart fluttering and my soul just plain happy! Now, let’s see what Graham Landry in store for us…

The King has returned! Someone please hold me, fan me and feed me all kinds of sweet stuff. Travis King has my heart pounding, pulse soaring and my stomach fluttering. This man, got even cockier, even hotter and even more desirable than the first time I met him. How you ask?! I know….Hard to believe right? How can he possibly be better than book one? Welp, take my word for it because he was! Way better. Kennedy Fox wrote him SUPERBLY!

Speaking of Kennedy Fox, can I just say I have no idea who these authors are separately but my gosh…. Together they are ASTOUNDING. Reading their words is like taking a breath of fresh air. Simple, uplifting and satisfying. Everything about this novel was FLAWLESS. From the continued growth of the characters to the blistering connection to the beautiful love story that resulted. FLAW-LESS!

THREE…

Travis & Viola aka team Traviola which I’m on, TOTALLY. Are a match made in enemy heaven. This book brought us a huge development in their relationship but still, they had that SPARK. That FIRE. That downright intense, passionate, hate filled LUST that we first saw in book 1. Only this time, all of it was balanced perfectly with the breathtaking LOVE that develops.

I guess you’re all wanting to know if book two also packs the same scorching heat as book one? Well I can happily tell you that it does. And it’s MAGNIFIED. Gaming never looked or sounded SO FREAKING HOT before. *reaches for a fan* SO yeah… BOILING HOT. LITERALLY MELTING!

FOUR…

I was ALL IN with this story, this couple. Everything. From beginning to end they had me. Devoted. Obsessed. Consumed.

I found myself in such a hurry to reach the end but I also never wanted it to stop. Books that evoke so much passion and emotion are THE BEST. Undoubtedly. And this, is one of the BEST!
