Review-Tru Flame by Edie Danford

My rating is 5 out of 5 stars

This book knocked me on my as* from the start. I was in no way expecting what hit as soon as the book started. Tru and Jones had their fair share of struggles in this book and my heart broke for them, but watching them slowly break down the barriers to happiness made my heart so full.

So, the book starts off with Sandra disappearing and then calling and letting the guys know that she is leaving and the baby now belongs to them. Imagine the stunned shock that shook Tru and Jones to the core. Jones was more on board and determined to make the most of it, while Tru struggled.
Tru never wanted  children since his experience with parents were less than stellar. It caused a lot of contention between Jones and Tru. I was truly concerned for where their relationship was headed with how Tru was handling things.

In the end, everything is perfect and just the way it was meant to be. A happy ending for all. I absolutely loved going on this journey with Tru and Jones. I will definitely miss them.

In the final chapter of the Ember Peak series, Tru and Jones face an unexpected challenge on their road to happy ever after.

Tru and Jones never expected riding off into the sunset to be easy. Their relationship’s script has never been silver-screen smooth or shiny. But dealing with life’s boulders, washouts, and irksome little details is no problem now…because they’re facing each bump in the road together.

But when Tru’s sister announces she wants—and desperately needs—him and Jones to adopt her baby, the new couple’s notions of family, home, their upcoming marriage, and even living at Ember Peak are flung into chaos.

They’ve defined themselves as lovers, partners, and future husbands—but are they ready, and do they even want to be, fathers? If they are to form a forever family, Tru and Jones will have to help each other navigate a new path they never expected to travel.

Review-The Way To His Heart by Felice Stevens

My rating is 5 out of 5 stars

This was short but sweet. I fell in love with Gideon and Jonah. Gideon has so many demons that he is doubting himself and everything in his life.
After hearing that his dyslexia is probably not going to improve much more than it currently is. He feels worthless and it broke my heart. He also has to face the father who was never a real father to him. To forgive or not forgive? That is the question!

The love between these 2 reached out to my heart. I can always count on Felice to give me all the feels.

Love is going pretty well for Gideon Marks. He’s living with his boyfriend, Jonah, and his business is thriving beyond his wildest dreams. So why is he still worried he’s not enough, and all he holds dear will slip through his fingers?
Jonah Fine has everything he wants; he’s head over heels in love with Gideon and has finally stepped out from under the shadow of his father. Aware of Gideon’s continuing struggle with dyslexia, Jonah tries to reassure him that they are equal partners in their relationship by making their first Valentine’s Day one to remember.
Ghosts from the past reappear, sending Gideon into a tailspin. He must make the decision to either hold on to the anger he grew up with or forgive the pain he’s carried with him all his life. It will take all of Gideon’s courage, Jonah’s love, and a special surprise for Gideon to finally realize the one person he must learn to love is himself

EXCERPT

“Do you think I do that? Live with regrets until they’ve made me afraid to accept happiness and accept you loving me?”

I knew to choose my words carefully. “I think you’ve been alone so long it’s colored your outlook on life. And considering you’re one of the most fearless men I’ve ever met, I think it’s made you afraid to move forward. Your mother’s death and your father’s treatment of you left emotional scars. You have a hard time letting people in to help you.”

Gideon stood up, and I missed him immediately; I sat up and watched him pace the floor, holding his wine as he formulated his thoughts. My heart broke for him as I watched his inner turmoil break him down until he collapsed in the chair opposite me.

“I love you, Jonah. Thinking about being without you scares the shit out of me. I don’t want to be alone; I can’t anymore. But it’s not the being alone part that scares me. I’ve been alone all my life. It’s the being without you. I don’t want to lose you. Today made me realize how I could easily hurt you and push you away.” He gulped his wine then wiped his mouth on his sleeve and shuddered.

“It won’t happen.” I swung my legs off the sofa to go sit on the coffee table and face him. “I won’t let it.”

“I’m telling you. I’m perfect at ruining a good thing.”

“I’m not a good thing. I’m the best damn thing to ever happen to you.”

“I know that. But I don’t ever want you feeling like you have to stay with me because you feel sorry for me.”

I plucked the glass out of his hand and placed it on the table then stood and pulled him into my arms. “I feel many, many things for you—desire, absolute lust, but most of all, love. I’m with you because I love you, Gideon, and that’s never going to change.”

The pain in his eyes slayed me. When would he realize he deserved to be loved?

A slight smile curved Gideon’s lips. “Absolute lust huh? I think I like the sound of that.”

Review – Casanova by Emma Hart

Casanova by Emma Hart

EMMA HART.

See that name. Memorise it. Read her books. Learn her words. LOVE her words. Because I guarantee that you will, LOVE EVERYTHING about this woman and her books.

I started Casanova with one thing in mind. DON’T FALL FOR THE ASSHOLE. I’m typically this person in real life so I thought okay, be strong. Try and reject a Hart Hero. (Trust me that ain’t no easy feat).

Let me tell you I got to 15% and I knew I was slipping.

By 24% I was almost there.

By 52% I had FAILED and LOVED this guy immensely.

The way Emma writes her Hero’s is with carnal, raw, perfection. Honestly, I cannot find a negative thing to say about him. His cocky, dirty, sinful, arrogance gave me tingles. His swoony, delicious goodness gave me butterflies. He ultimately became my FAVOURITE HART HERO. I COULD NOT get enough.

As always, Emma wrote one amazing heroine. Without a doubt, there is no one better than Emma Hart, that writes a female character so strongly. All of Emma’s heroines are sexy, sassy, classy and know how to bring men to their knees. Lani has now become my favourite Hart heroine. She was so much fun. I loved her.

What you get with Casanova though is so much more. Emma has seriously nailed the best friends to enemies to lovers trope with this one. She’s meshed love and hate together so fluidly that you cannot help but FEEL as the power of the words flows through your whole body.
Strip back the ridiculously HOT cover, strip back the asshole, strip back the sassy brunette and what you get is a freaking amazing love story. Lani and Brett alone MAKE this book. Everything else, the secondary characters, which were fantastic, the crazy relatives, that were hilarious, are all just a big bonus.

What I didn’t expect was to be so utterly consumed by everything Lani and Brett. They made me so emotional, that beautiful, breathtaking, angsty kind of emotional though. They made me HOT, like fan me down right now kinda hot. They made me laugh out loud. They pissed me off. And cry, dude, I cried. This book has it all, I kid you not, it HAS IT ALL.

Casanova captivates, it consumes, it catapults itself into the heart, mind, body and soul and cements itself there.
It’s my favourite Hart book to date. No amount of stars will ever cover this. EVER.

Once upon a time, I loved him.

He broke me and he didn’t even know it.

I ran from him.

He didn’t chase me.

He never needed to, because he knew I’d come back.

He was right.

Death brought me home to him.

Brett Walker.

Drop dead gorgeous and filthy-mouthed with a smile that turns saints to sinners.

A casanova to his core.

My ex-best friend.

And the bad boy whose reputation precedes him—the same reputation I’m tasked with turning to gold… Or so they think.

Revenge is a dish best served cold, after all…

Review – Friction by Emily Snow

Friction by Emily Snow

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is a certain excitement that comes with the unknown…the unexpected. Trying something new is a risk but reward, a challenge and adventure. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I met my first book by Emily Snow after being a Snow stalker for a while, and it was incredible indeed! Friction is a heart-stopping sexy friends-to-boss-to lovers romance that bleeds angst and amusement, leaving you melting for more!

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Friction that gripped me hard, holding me in its clutches, holding me captive, holding me…OWNING ME. The witty and wondrous writing—full of delicious inner thoughts, playful banter, and heat that burned up this book—was pure intoxication. I could not put this fierce and flaming tale down. Alluring. Amusing. All-consuming. I WAS ALL IN!

Beautiful dark-haired and hazel-eyed Lucy Williams has had a storm of bad luck, a cheating husband and then failed marriage, job losses, and the return to living with her mother. Her personal life is heading towards cat lady central. Lucy needs a good dose of lady luck.

Luck finally lands in the smart and sassy Lucy’s lap when she lands a new job at a company selling unique products. The owner and her boss happens to be her high school fantasy, Jace Exley. Sex-on-a-stick Jace is dark-haired, blue-eyed, inked, and muscular…an Adonis.

“As of a few minutes ago, Jace Exley – former underachiever and object of my school girl fantasies – is my boss. And boss-related filthiness is at the top rung of unprofessionalism.”

One look from Jace is an instant thigh clencher. One touch is both heaven and hell.

“It’s not fair that the slightest touch from this man has the power to electrify my heart and body and mind.”

Lucy doesn’t want to crush on her hot boss and former school crush but she can’t fight that fire-hot attraction that surrounds them like an aura. Little does Lucy know that her boss has a heavy dose of Lucy lust. When boss and worker with off-the-charts chemistry collide or more like combust, it’s a frenzy of forbidden fireworks.

“The kiss catches me off guard. It’s bruising, almost punishing, as he spreads my lips apart with his tongue…He tastes as good as he smells, and I find myself unable to quit him or this.”

That kiss is molten lava, which melted me from head to toe. Jace’s dirty and delicious mouth melted me even more. Jace loves to get a rise out of the more conservative, cool, and collected Lucy, and oh is it HOT!

“Lucy, seeing your lips wrap around the word f**k makes me want to put my c**k in every hole in your body.”

Holy mother of molten heat! The heat, oh did it soar off the pages right to my body, sending it to such a scorching level that I contemplated a cold shower break.

“You can’t have me or don’t want to?”

Lines are blurred as the employee and friends-only relationships get rocky with this electricity too strong to fight. Friction is fierce and the forbidden is one titanic temptation. Will the former high school crushes forgo the employee-boss relationship and finally make a love connection?

Friction has THE CLICK—that connection to the characters and everything about the story from inside out—where I could not help but fall fast and furiously IN LOVE with the captivating characters, the combustible chemistry, the amusing and burning banter, the angst, the flawless writing, and more…JUST EVERYTHING! This story is sheer brilliance from beginning to end. New-to-me author, Emily Snow, delivered big time and completely WOWED ME. I’m forever team Snow all the way!

A fire-hot, funny, and forbidden romance, Friction is PURE INTOXICATION. Body blazing. Thighs trembling. Soul swooning. I could not get enough this fiery and fierce Friction that burned every part of me. I LOVED this raw, romantic, and refreshingly real read! Friction was unputdownable! I can still feel this fabulous Friction thrashing through me.

Former overachiever Lucy WillIams sucks at adulting.

Recent divorce, check.

Pending lawsuit, check.

A move back to Boston to live with her mother, triple check.

It can’t get much worse, right?

When she starts her new marketing job at EXtreme Effects, she’s positive shit’s stopped hitting the fan. Sure, what she’s advertising is a little … unorthodox, but it pays the bills. And since she’s seconds away from becoming Lucy Williams: Wednesday Night Bingo Enthusiast, she needs money to get the hell out of her mother’s house.

The only problem is her boss, Mr. Extreme himself: Jace Exley. He’s everything any sane woman dreams of—alpha, successful, ridiculously gorgeous. He’s also Lucy’s worst nightmare. Because like every overachiever, she has that underachiever she brushed off. The slacker who, once upon a time ago, was the object of her dirtiest schoolgirl fantasies.

Jace Exley—with his sarcastic smirk and delicious accent—just happens to be that guy.

And the friction between them?

Well, that’s the only adulting Lucy seems to be winning at…

Review – Being Brooke by Emma Hart

I can’t breathe. I’m really struggling to take in a breath, because I’m smiling so damn big right now that it’s actually hurting my face. In fact if I’m honest I never stopped smiling through this book, from the first page to the very last Being Brooke has made me laugh, swoon, feel and love.

There was something incredibly refreshing about this book. It wasn’t all brooding asshole alpha and hot sex but dya know what, it didn’t need it. The whole story is captivating. It’s one of those books that just implants itself in your heart and refuses to let go. It was funny and filled with laugh out loud humour and sarcasm. Everything about this book screams rom com, done so perfectly, it’s one of my faves of the whole year.

Brooke aka the Hot Mess was an outstanding character. I loooooved her so freaking much. She is one of the realist characters I have ever read, her personality was infectious. I want to be friends with this woman, she’s one of those characters that you just connect with. And Emma, as usual wrote her superbly, not that I ever doubted her, Emma writes the best heroines!

And Cain, OMG Cain! Why, how, does Emma manage to write men that just RUIN every part of you? Because he will, every single damn part…RUINED. IN THE BEST WAY! There has not been one single Hart hero that I haven’t fallen head over heels with. And Cain! Cain! I actually have no words guys. Just YES! GAH! And ALL THE THINGS! Because he is, all the things!

He is the best friend, the guy you have loved forever, the guy that you can’t ever let know how you truly feel. Yup. I’ve been there, done that, and so FELT EVERY DAMN WORD OF THIS BOOK! And that is what makes this book so damn special, because it’s TOO FREAKING REAL and you can connect to it all. Feel it all, bask in all its otherworldly goodness.
I adore Emma, her books are addictive, her writing is flawless, everything about Emma’s writing is just perfection. Without a doubt she is one of my ultimate favourite authors. When her stories are THIS GOOD and just keep getting better how can she not be a?

Being Brooke was an hilarious, refreshing read that stole my heart and exploded with real, breathtaking beauty.

From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes a brand new standalone novel. BEING BROOKE is a laugh-out-loud, witty, sexy, and sometimes highly inappropriate romantic comedy about being in love with your best friend. And how much that freaking sucks.

My name is Brooke Barker…

And I’m a freaking disaster.

No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.

Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.

The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.

The second problem? He’s my best friend.

My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.

And that’s all he can be, right?

Right.

Review – Twined Bond by Emma Hart

You know? I’ve followed this series from the very beginning, I’ve eagerly anticipated each and every instalment and I’ve enjoyed every trip to Holly Woods that I’ve been on.

Now after reading Twined Bond, the very last one, I’m feeling kinda lost. This whole journey has been bittersweet. I have so many moments from this series that will stick with me, but I honestly can’t believe it’s over.

Twined Bond was, without a doubt, the best one of the whole series. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Emma not only did justice to her characters but she did justice to us the reader too. It’s clear to see that Emma has wrote a book that she herself would be happy to read, everything was covered, I have no criticism at all. It was all so perfect.

Twined Bond, I feel, was the most hard hitting too. Emma basically ripped all my emotions out of me, smashed them into a bag, gave them a HUGE shake and then stuck them back in me. I was all over the place. Emphasised by the fact that I actually never wanted the book to end.

I’m not going to say anymore. I can’t without risking spoiling it for someone. What I will say though is that, if you haven’t read this series, if you haven’t become acquainted with Noelle and her crazy, hysterical family, Drake, her alpha protector, and the mystery and suspense that floods the series then you are missing out. This series is fantastic. Each and every book will keep you guessing, each and every book will make you fall a little further in love with Drake and Noelle and each and every book will become a favourite. Twined Bond was the perfect way to end!

Now excuse me while I go sit in a corner and mourn all the greatness that is Holly Woods!

All is well in Holly Woods.

My best friend’s love triangle is now a happy little circle. My sister-in-law just gave birth to my gorgeous new niece who is the world’s best cuddler, and Nonna’s not on my back every ten minutes about the fact we’re getting married in one month.

Supposedly.

Until the mayor’s niece—our baker for the wedding—commits suicide. At least, that’s what the note says. My gut says we’re talking a different kind of ‘cide.’ My gut also says I should stay well away, and in the interest of Drake’s sanity, I plan to.

But when life throws you an unexpected curveball… Sometimes the best laid plans need tearing up.

Even if you don’t mean to do it.

Happily ever after…

If Holly Woods survives this.

Review – Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

Karen's Review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Let me share this whole new world with you.” ~Aladdin

Our lives may not always be fairy tales, but we can experience them in books every day. We can feel the fantasy; we can live the dream. Who doesn’t want to be a princess? Emma Chase whisks you into a better-than-Cinderella fairy tale in Royally Screwed where you feel that fantasy as you dive into one delicious dream. Alluring and all-consuming, Royally Screwed is a modern day rags-to-riches romance with a sexy Prince and the perfect blend of heat, humor, and heart.

Feeling like a Disney Princess, I dove into the delicious Royally Screwed where I wanted to take my time, sprinkling myself into this dream like fairy dust, where I could bask in the glow of wonder. Now for the reality: I devoured Royally Screwed with a deep hunger like an addict, ignoring everything and everyone, not wanting to surface for air. I could not sink fast enough into this story that quickly became my crack, captivating and claiming all of me. Royally Screwed instantly thrust me into a royal kingdom with one panty-melting and passionate Prince where I wanted to be his Cinderella.

Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco is tall, blue-eyed, dark-haired, and handsome with a delicious body and dirty-talking mouth.

“What do you like to do in your spare time?”

“I enjoy rock climbing, driving as fast as I can without crashing, flying, good scotch, B-movies, and a scathingly passive-aggressive verbal exchange with the Queen…and I like to f**k. Which is probably the answer my fans would rather hear. The Palace, however, would lose their ever-loving minds if I had said that.”

RS Teaser 6.png

His Royal Hotness indeed. The Prince’s inner thoughts were icing on the cake.

While Nicholas enjoys the royal perks, he is not a fan of his princely duties and wants to live as a real guy for once. According to the Queen, this hot and hilarious Prince doesn’t take those duties seriously. To save the kingdom from further embarrassment and worldwide mockery, the Queen decided that the Prince must find his Princess from a list of suitable royalty of course.

“The Queen has me by the balls—and I’m going to have to bleach my brain for even completing that thought—but besides that, I still have time.”

With only six months to find a bride, the Prince does what only a royally hot alpha who hates his royally ridiculous responsibilities can do: Run off to New York City to embark on one last adventure, far away from his princely duties, before he is forced into a wedding he doesn’t want. Little does Nicholas count on was his adventure being one where a beautiful waitress hurls a pie at his face after an offer he thought she wouldn’t refuse, and it’s a fixation at first sight.

“I’ve been told my cock is a gift from God. You should test that opinion tonight. You know…for religion.”

HOLY. HOT. That line may be cheesy but it fans the flame, heating me into molten lava.

Beautiful Olivia Hammond is struggling financially to help keep her family afloat in a bakery serving her famous pies. One Prince wants to devour her like pie and Olivia doesn’t have time for a distraction, no matter how tempting he is or how scrumptious he looks.

“I feel like a James Bond martini—shaken—but also stirred.”

The Prince is a determined man who has always taken what he wants. What or who he wants is Olivia, the gal with the sassy mouth and lush lips that he wants to taste. His raunchy and racy humor along with his charm is slowly seducing Olivia.

“Possessively. Boldly. Like he owns me. And in this moment he does. Holy f**k. Does he know how to kiss. I think I have an orgasm of the mouth. A mouth-gasm. And it’s amazing.”

RS Teaser 5.png

Combine the seductive charm and heated humor with one passionate and soul-shattering kiss and Olivia falls into the rabbit hole, completely smitten by the oh-so-persuasive Prince.

Somehow, perhaps halfway through Royally Screwed, my laughing and lusting was overcome by swooning as this story penetrated my heart, piercing it like Cupid’s arrow. Hook. Line. Sinker. I was royally smitten and my heart was royally sunk.

“I smile—and I know it’s radiant. Because that’s how I feel. Right now—in his arms. Lit from the inside, like a luminous shooting start that won’t ever dim.”

RS Teaser 3.png

The Prince moves from seducer to seduced as Olivia’s power over him is like that of no other woman. She is the first to see the man behind the mirror…the real Nicholas.

“She looks into my eyes and I’m lost. Wrecked. Owned.”

Olivia has the Prince under her spell, and he wants to remain spellbound. Olivia doesn’t want to end the best thing that’s ever happened to her, the man who is more than just a Prince. The man who is sweet, sexy, funny, and amazing who has stolen her heart.

“…I see him clearly. It’s the face of a fallen angel. A fallen angel with secrets in his eyes.”

Prince Nicholas’ duty is to marry a noble bride, not a commoner. If only the law allowed him to marry Olivia, the woman who has quickly captured his heart but one who must be a temporary fix because duty calls.

“I should’ve left her alone. I should’ve walked away the moment I started to feel…everything. I had no business trying to keep her. It will forever be the cruelest thing I’ve ever done.”

RS Teaser.png

Secrets, lies, and an unyielding Queen equate to one royal mess. Nicholas is royally screwed.

“We can’t change who we are—not a queen, a prince, or a girl from New York. Like he told me once…royalty is forever.”

RS Teaser 2.png

Royally Screwed is royally incredible, one unputdownable and unforgettable tale! I fell fast and hard for Prince Nicholas, one of my new best book boyfriends and amazing alphas. I fell fast and hard for the secondary characters, Prince Henry the little brother, and Franny, Olivia’s new royal friend whose lady balls were sky high. I fell fast and hard for Royally Screwed, an immensely intoxicating and incredible modern day Cinderella story. I FELL FAST AND HARD FOR IT ALL!.

This book is bloody brilliant! Royally Screwed blew me away as one of best books I’ve read this year and ever! I did not expect this story to twist and turn itself around me where I FELT ALL THE FEELS. I laughed and lusted, and then cried happy and sad tears. Royally Screwed brought the heat and humor, but also a heap of heart coupled with courage and hope where I could not help but FALL IN UTTER LOVE with this rom-com that is SO MUCH MORE.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Emma Chase’s masterpieces, but I was a fool to procrastinate. This author is one of my new favorites: those who BRING IT ALL to their work, where their imaginations, humor, and hearts are poured into every beautiful and brilliant word. These go-to authors write books that aren’t simply stories but escapes from reality, adventures where you free-fall so hard that you don’t to surface for air.

Emma Chase sprinkled fairy dust on the pages of Royally Screwed, an enchanting and entertaining story of epic love, a gem so beautiful and bright. Royally Screwed is pure magic, penned and painted to perfection, a movie playing while reading. I had laughs in my gut, love in my heart and stars in my eyes. The story that’s an ace in a sea of cards, I can’t wait to get Royally Screwed again as my fairy tale was over too soon.

★★★★★ 5 royally good stars

SYNOPSIS

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

EXCERPT

“I have a plan.”

We’re in the library of the suite. Nicholas is behind the desk, his hair falling still damp over his forehead from a recent shower, while James and Tommy stand near the windows.

“Take off your clothes,” I say, dropping a stuffed backpack at my feet.

He stands, giving me a curious, dimple-flashing smile that makes my stomach tingle.

“I like this plan.”

He pulls his shirt over his head—and at the sight of that gorgeous chest and ripped abs, I have to close my mouth to stop the flow of drool.

“Should I send the lads to their room?” he asks.

I toss him a Beastie Boys T-shirt and ripped jeans from the backpack. “They can stay—I’ll get to them in a second.”

Nicholas puts on the outfit, his disguise for the day. I hold up a thick gold chain with a dangling cross, and he dips his head so I can loop it over his neck. Then I squirt gel into my hand and reach up on tiptoes to rub it through his hair—mussing it at the top and slicking the sides.

Perfect.

“Do you know how to drive a motorcycle?”

“Yes.”

“Excellent.” I pull a helmet with a full, tinted face shield out of the backpack and hold it up. “Marty’s bike is downstairs. He said to tell you: break it, you bought…a Ducati.”

Logan steps into the room from where he was stationed just outside the door, lifting his hand, like a traffic cop. “Hold on, now—”

Nicholas takes the helmet. “It’ll be fine, Logan.”

“And,” I say cautiously, turning to the three big, strong, probably-have-a-license-to-kill boys. “I want Nicholas and me to go on this outing alone. You guys stay here.”

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph.” Tommy says.

James makes the sign of the cross.

Logan takes another route. “No fuckin’ way. Not possible.”

But the look on Nicholas’s face says it’s definitely possible.

“No,” Logan insists again, his voice straining with a faint hint of desperation.

“I have an itinerary.” I take the sealed envelope out of the backpack and hand it to Logan. “I wrote everything down for you, just in case—exactly where we’ll be, every minute.” When he starts to tear it open I put my hand on his. “You can’t open it until after we’re gone—it’ll ruin the surprise. But I promise it will be all right. I swear on my life.”

My eyes drift from Logan to Nicholas. “Trust me.”

And I want him to—so much. I want to do this for him, give him something he hasn’t had. Something he’ll remember always: freedom.

Nicholas looks at the helmet, then at Logan. “What’s the worst that could happen?”

“Ah…you could get assassinated and the three of us will hang for treason.”

“Don’t be silly,” Nicholas scoffs. “We haven’t hung anyone in years.” He smacks Logan’s back. “It’d be the firing squad.”

Review – Stripped Down by Emma Hart

Welp. I don’t know where to start. I’ve read some amazing books this year, some books worth more than the 5 stars we’re allowed to give. Some that will be in my top reads of 2016, and THIS, Stripped Down is one of them!

Stripped Down has EVERYTHING! From laugh out loud comedy, to a delicious, dirty talking alpha, to swoony romance, to soul searing, heart breaking beauty. I kid you not, this book is a feels roller coaster. It’s just EVERYTHING!

But let’s start with that delicious, dirty talking alpha shall we? Everybody welcome Beckett Cruz, stealer of hearts and panties. I ask you now to think of EVERY WORD you can, that would describe the BEST delicious, dirty, swoony, protective, romantic alpha male for you. Have you done it? Well, Becks is ALL OF THEM and MORE! I promise you!! If you read Emma’s books you’ll know that her men are utter sin, carnage to the heart, you may as well forgo the panties and bathe in the ridiculous swoony river they leave behind. But Beckett, damn BECKETT! He’s just raw, intense, SEX. Everything about him oozes satisfaction. I just LOVED him! I’d say he’s Emma best hero yet and I love me some Burke goodness. But DAMN! BECKETT CRUZ!!

And Cassie, well she’s delightful. So strong and sassy. I just adored her. Her walls are built high and for a seriously good reason, one that as a single parent I understood and connected with so much!
When reading Stripped Down you’ll find that is has the usual Emma Hart goodness that she sprinkles on all her books, but you’ll find that it’s also a lot more than that. It’s deeper and more personal. From the dedication at the front, as the reader you soon realise what you’re reading is important not just to us as readers, or her characters but to Emma as well. There were times I felt so happy while reading this, that my smile was hurting my face. There were also times reading this that I felt every crack of Cassie’s heart when she was overcome with the worry of her future and daughter and that cracked my heart too, because those worries are SO REAL. Emma wrote them to  PERFECTION!

Personally I’d say Stripped Down is Emma’s best book yet, forgo the cover and the insanely hot model on it, forgo the comedy and the hot sexy scenes, forgo the delicious hero and sassy heroine and look deeper. Because what you’ll find is a strong, relatable story of hurt, fear, beauty and love. You’ll find a story woven from experience and knowledge. You’ll find the PERFECT story!

5+ sensational stripped down stars!

What do you get when you mix a bottle of tequila, a single mom moonlighting as a stripper, and her sinfully sexy boss with an impulsive side?

Married. You get married.

Rich. Demanding. Hot. Crazy.

That was Beckett Cruz in a nutshell.

Not to mention wild, determined, dangerous, and forbidden.

He was my boss—and, after a drunken moment of insanity, my new husband.

An annulment was impossible… so was keeping him.

I was taking my daughter and leaving, determined to give her a quieter life.

But Beckett Cruz had never taken no for an answer.

And he wasn’t about to take mine.

What happens in Vegas… might just keep you there.

Excerpt –

Beck?” I managed to get his name out just before he opened the front door.

“Yeah?” He spun back to face me, his dark eyes unreadable.

I turned my face to the side so I could see him fully. “You don’t have to go,” I said softly. “You can stay. Only if you want to though.”

He rubbed his hand down his face, his eyes never leaving mine, then walked back into the kitchen toward me. I stood up away from the fridge as he stopped right next to me.

Slowly, he touched his hand to my face, his fingertips teasing my hairline. His dark gaze searched mine, and my heart jumped into my throat as the usual tingles his touch sparked danced down my neck. Then, he slid his hand into my hair, allowing the blonde strands to fall away from his fingertips.

“Do I want to go home to my big-ass house with its cold emptiness?” he asked in a low voice. “Or go to the club where half the girls there still see me as a mountain to be conquered? Not particularly, Blondie. I’d rather stay here. Even if there will be a demand for movies and water and foot rubs from a tiny, sick person.”

“You can.” My voice was quiet, like his. Even if my internal screams from self-preservation and vulnerability were deafeningly loud as they told me I was a fool, that he had to go, that this would never be enough for him.

“Do you want me to?” His question was… honest.

Raw.

Hesitant.

Like he didn’t want me to answer.

“Do I want you to stay here in my tiny house so my daughter can fall more in love with you than she already is? Not really. But…” Don’t be a fool, Cassie. Don’t admit you want him to stay. He’s just going to hurt you. “I don’t exactly want you to go either.”

“For her, or for you?”

“I don’t want to answer that question.”

“If I kissed you right now, would you ram your knee into my cock?”

“I’d briefly consider it, but I probably wouldn’t do it.”

His lips twitched to the side. “You just answered the question.”

Then, of course, he cupped the back of my head, and he kissed me. It was slow, sweet, gentle. And I didn’t consider kneeing him in the balls for a single second.

Beck pulled back and trailed his hand down my arm before he finally let me go. “I’m going home to get changed and then come back. Do you need anything while I’m gone? For CiCi? You?”

“I don’t…” I sighed and chewed back my pride. “I meant to go to the store today after work to get some stuff like bread, milk… important stuff. But now I can’t.”

“I can get it. Just tell me what you need.”

I bit the inside of my lip, then nodded. “Okay. Let me write it down.” I walked through into the front room with him hot on my heels and grabbed the notebook and pen from under the coffee table. A few things were already scrawled down, so I added a couple more things, including more medicine. I tore the sheet off the notebook, stood, then gave it to Beck. “Let me get my wallet.”

He grabbed my wrist, stopping me. “I’m not taking your money.”

I lifted my gaze to his. “You can’t pay for my groceries.”

“I can and I will.”

“You can’t and you won’t.”

“I can and I will.”

“You can’t and you won’t.”

“I can do this all day, baby. I’m stubborn as fuck.” His eyes told me he wasn’t lying. “And we all know I’m a brat about the word no. So, I can, I will, and I’m going to. If I can’t help you by buying a measly eight items, I’m an asshole who shouldn’t be allowed around other people.”

“You can’t buy my groceries,” I repeated. It was a lame argument. I was going to lose, but I’d fight until I went down.

Beck’s eyes twinkled as he leaned in. “Don’t worry. If you really want to pay me back, I’ll take a blow job. I imagine your lips around my cock will be a pretty good thank you.”

My jaw dropped as he backed off with a wink.

“Mouth open already, Cassie? Enthusiasm. I like that.”

I snapped my jaw shut and glared at him. “You’re a dirty pig.”

“I know. But I’ve got fifty bucks that says you’ll be sucking my dick by bedtime. If you don’t agree…” He shrugged one shoulder, his lips curved in that dangerous smirk.

“If you’re lucky, I’ll bite it.”

“I’ll take that as I’m in for a good time.”

One more wink, complete with expanding grin, and he was gone.

Motherfucking asshole.

Review – Twirled Bond by Emma Hart

Murder, mystery, intrigue, suspense, love, sex, sass and SO MUCH MORE makes up Twirled Bond, the 5th installment of the Holly Woods series.

Filled with the humour and hotness that we’ve previously come to expect with the Holly Woods series, Emma once again takes Drake & Noelle on a new thrill ride that fully captivated my attention, made me laugh and ultimately stole my heart.

Each book in the Holly Woods series, is fresh but continues perfectly from the one before! If you enjoy a suspense filled, romantic comedy, with intrigue and intensity then this book, this whole series is for you!

4.5 magical mystery stars!

If I thought Holly Woods was crazy before, I was wrong.

Devin is finally married. Nonna’s on the wedding warpath. Drake might be getting ideas. His mom just dropped a bombshell, and Bek is caught between a hot as hell FBI agent and my super-sweet little brother.

And I still don’t have the shoe closet Drake promised me when he moved in six months ago.

At least there’s one positive: the old, abandoned Holly Woods Theater is about to reopen, and there’s nothing like a theater opening to bring people together… And make crazy grandmothers forget proposal agendas.

Until that theater comes with a dead body. A very, very, very dead body.

Chaos is coming to town.

Everything I’ve ever known about Holly Woods might just be about to change.

Review – Everything by Erin Noelle

Follow the second star to the right and keep flying and you will be transported to a place of pure magic. Pure magic written brilliantly by Erin Noelle.

Everything is a rock star romance with a forbidden twist. It’s filled with seductive, deep, intense angst, sexy scenes of love, lust and romance that just sizzles and pops from the pages..

Everett and Belle are a match made in heaven. From their initial meet they are explosive.. Everett is so sexy, so swoony, a sinful alpha and just WOW!!

I love rockstar romances. I love forbidden romances. Mix these two together and I’m a super happy bunny! I love Erin and all her books and this one is no different!

4.5 seriously sexy, better than good stars.

Music was was part of my DNA, pumping hard through my veins, resonating deep within my bones. Not surprising, considering my dad was a global rock star and my mom had the voice of a fallen angel.

With my twin sister by my side in our indie-rock duo, Singed Wings, we were ready to finally see our name in lights when we opened for the hottest act to sell out stadiums – Jobu’s Rum Summer Reunion Tour.

The life I’d always wanted was finally within my reach. All I had left to do was finish out my last semester of high school.

But there was one problem: Ms. Sloan, the new art history teacher.

The same Ms. Sloan I’d met as Belle, the sexy little pixie who’d captivated me at a New Year’s Eve concert last year.

The same Ms. Sloan who’d owned nearly every one of my thoughts since that night.

The same Ms. Sloan whose class I was in danger of failing.

With my dream gig dangling just on the other side of that cap and gown, all of my focus should’ve been on my school work and improving my music as I prepared for my big shot to rock the world…

But I never expected her to rock mine first… and to change everything.

Everything is a standalone novel. It is a spin-off from the Book Boyfriend Series.
