Angelica and Noah!!! Omg. I loved this book so much. I’ve been the biggest stalker of Rebecca Norinne. I’ve read and loved every single book she has written. I am not familiar with the the co-author, Jamaila. I will say that they were a great duet.

This book takes a different feel than Rebecca’s broody rugby players. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot. Noah is just a refreshing change of pace, and I love that they gave love for us girls who aren’t stick figures.

This is a definite refreshing book that you’ll want to kick up your feet and enjoy a glass of wine while reading! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Review – Sinner by Sierra Simone

Sierra Simone has written some absolutely stunning books. Her stories are thought provoking, soul stirring and without fail some of the sexiest reads ever. No one can write a scene quite like Sierra. Sinner is so emotionally riveting, so divine in its approach to God and relationships.

Sierra took on some hefty topics and did them with style, grace and dignity. She shined the light on subjects that so taboo in the African American community – religion, racism, interracial relationships and homosexuality. And while she takes full responsibility for any mistakes that she may have made while writing this book, I have to say this. As an African American woman, this book and everything in it, from Sean’s understanding of satin pillowcases to Zenny’s moment of explaining the realities of being black in today’s society to her love for a man who some may call the enemy, honored me and affirmed that Sierra just plain gets it. She writes this so powerfully that the idea of this taboo interracial affair between a very young and very inexperienced woman who is moments away from becoming a nun and the much older very worldly man who happens to be her brother’s best friend with a mission to corrupt her and make her see that God is a farce ceases to be a black and white issue. It simply becomes a love issue.

Sean Bell is all sex and sinful delights. A millionaire playboy in hand tailored suits. He’s also very complex and very torn in his relationship with God. His tragic past and how the Catholic church played a man in his family’s devastation has remained at a focal point in his life. His devotion to his family and to his work doesn’t leave time for real relationships. He simply doesn’t want to make room for love and then one night changes everything he thought he wanted. The sexy in this book is scorching hot. The chemistry felt so real. These two people took up a place in my heart and my soul that I cannot give back even if I wanted to. Beautifully presented, masterfully written. Authentic and honest… at times brutally so. This was a emotional mix of heaven, hell and all the lusty moments in between. So very well done. This is one not to be missed.

When Sinners Kneel by R Scarlett

First off I want to say that PNR is not my usual reading genre. I tend to stay away from it because it really doesn’t do anything for me. HOWEVER, THIS BOOK! It’s BRILLIANT!

Originally, it was the cover and blurb that drew me into this book. Both were amazingly attractive and suddenly the PNR genre didn’t matter to me. So I picked it up and dived in. I was CAPTIVATED people. CAP-TI-VATED! I don’t read PNR but from now on, if R. Scarlett writes it, I’m going to read it!

R Scarlett has weaved one hell of a stunning read with When Sinners Kneel. It was intense and deep and perfect! From beginning to end Beau had his claws in me and never let go, he was incredibly special.

The way this book is written, the way things develop, is just magical.

It’s this kind of book that makes you so happy that you stepped outside your comfort zone. 5 well deserved stars!

So, I’m gonna start this review being really, really honest. When Jodi Ellen Malpas announced that she was writing another book about Jesse & Ava my first thought was “NO. NOPE. Can’t have it”. I was really, really struggling with the prospect of having another book in the world that would upset the dynamic of such a great loved pair. I mean Jesse & Ava are the Ross & Rachel of the book world. They go together like Bella & Edward, Cinderella & Prince Charming. They JUST FIT. And I did not know how another book could be better, be good… The prospect of another book started to grow on me though and soon for me, no matter what the outcome was going to be, everything got the better of me and I KNEW I simply HAD to read it.

And OH MY GOODNESS!

THANK the LORD himself that I did.

With This Man is MAGNIFICENT. I would like to officially claim that this is Jodi’s best book yet. Very easily her best writing. This book had a flow and an ease that was so comfortable, so relaxing. It was like coming home. All my fears about how this would work were disintegrated by 10%. This book consumed me, like how Jesse consumes Ava. It was everything I could have HOPED for and then some.

I’m not going to go into storyline or anything detailed. What I will say though is Jesse is FIIIIIIIINE! I’d actually say he’s better than ever, hotter than ever, swoonier than ever.

If you know anything about me, you’ll know, I always crave FEELING. Crave EMOTION. This book has both of those in BUCKET LOADS! My heart broke with Jesse’s. My tummy in knots. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to scream and shout and kick off at Jodi for putting them through what she does. My eyes watered heavily. Then I would laugh. I would be struck by de-ja-vu that made me smile then made my heart pang. There was just so much emotion, so much feeling, so much everything that just MADE this book.

I don’t know what is left to say except, THANK YOU Jodi. Thank you for writing this book, thank you for staying true to Jesse & Ava. Thank you for Jesse! Thank you for giving me a top read of 2018.

Rowan and Tessa showed us what love, acceptance and endurance is. In Rowan I saw determination, cunning, and the pure joy of being first a friend and then a father. From Tessa I saw independence, momma bear protectiveness, and vulnerability. It was impossible to not get caught up in these two. They may have spent years a part but their love for each other only grew. Their chemistry only got hotter. The most important thing was that they each took the time to grow into who they were as individuals. They made me ridiculously happy!

This was such a satisfying conclusion! Emotional, twisty, intriguing. The secondary characters made me wish for more, namely Rowans’s brother Sam and Tessa’s brother Freddie. These two have much story to tell. This was an incredible read!

Well done, again, Claire! So well done!

Another top read from Ella Frank. I was completely captivated from the very beginning. This book is steamy, angsty, and mind blowing; everything you expect from Ella.

DRUNK-DIALING IS never a smart move. But drunk-dialing a married man? That is a monumentally stupid move.

That was the thought rolling around Robbie’s muddled brain as he stood with his best friend Elliot at the bar of CRUSH and tossed back his fourth Bitter Bitch. The conversation he was having with himself wasn’t a new one—or a welcome one, he thought as he swayed on his feet and kind of stumbled into the stool beside him. But forgetting his lonely life with alcohol and men who were all wrong for him seemed like an increasingly good way to cope tonight.

The hum and throb of the bass beat was rattling through him, but instead of feeling the pull he usually did to head out to the dance floor and have fun, tonight it seemed to be having the opposite effect. It was making him think really stupid thoughts.

“You’re so wasted, Bianchi,” Elliot said as he grabbed Robbie’s arm and guided him to the barstool. “What’s that? Your third shot? And how many margaritas did you have at dinner?”

Robbie held up two, then three fingers, and shrugged. “Who cares? Everyone had their New Year’s on Sunday. Tonight’s mine, and I want to celebrate.”

“If you celebrate any more, you aren’t gonna remember your first night out of the New Year.”

“Don’t care,” Robbie said, as he waved his hand through the air with flourish and leaned a little too much into the action. Luckily, Elliot was there to prop him up. “I wanna have fun tonight. Do something I shouldn’t.”

Elliot leaned his elbows back on the bar so he was facing the dance floor and said, “Why don’t you get out there and let someone do you instead? You look gorgeous tonight, darling.”

He’s right, I do look cute, Robbie thought.

In his skinny jeans and purple V-neck tee that was practically a second skin, Robbie had gone all out with smoky eyes and a new pink shade of gloss he’d bought a couple of days ago that tasted like—mmm, strawberries. He could totally hit the dance floor, find a willing man, and let him do all kinds of things. But that seemed so boring tonight, so normal, and so not what he wanted.

He wanted wild. He wanted adventure. He wanted danger. And when the two men he knew were both those things entered his mind, Robbie quickly shook his head, trying to shake them free.

Stop thinking about them, he ordered himself, but that was easier said than done. One of them was one of the sexiest men he’d ever seen, and the other the most frustrating—and what was worse was that he couldn’t have either of them even if he wanted to. What was with everyone being fucking married all of a sudden? And to each other?

But oh the dreams he’d been having lately. The three of them, all sweaty and naked; they were enough to make him want to—

No, no, no. That is the worst idea you could have, Robbie told himself. Drunk or sober.

Worst.

Idea.

Ever.

Plus, you don’t even like one of them. So stop obsessing over it.

“Earth to Robbie…” Elliot said, waving a hand, and Robbie shrugged.

“I don’t know. I’m just not in the mood.”

“You’re not in the mood to grind all over a naked man? Okay, where the hell is my best friend and what did you do with him?” Elliot asked as he swept his black bangs out of his eyes.

“I don’t know.” Robbie slumped forward on the bar, dramatic as ever, and looked up at Elliot from under his lashes. “I think I’m in a state of mourning, El, and I don’t know how to get out of it.”

Elliot frowned. “Is this about Logan? I thought you were happy for him and Tate?”

“I am, but— Ugh. They just got engaged, and now all of a sudden, he’s married. Married.”

“I know, babe. But you knew it was coming.”

“Doesn’t make it any easier. Knowing there are two more beautiful men off the market forever due to a ring and a piece of paper is just depressing.”

“Two more men?” Elliot said, regarding him with a suspicious eye. “Who else do you know who’s hitched?”

Julien, Robbie instantly thought, as an image of the famous chef came to mind.

Julien “the Prick” Thornton. And this time, as Julien’s name ran through Robbie’s head, he made a point to roll the Jul over his tongue the way Julien had when he’d introduced himself that night at the bar. That’s right…Julien “I’m gay, gorgeous, and, oh yeah, married to your worst enemy” Thornton. He was hitched.

“No one,” Robbie said, and pouted. Then he swiveled on the stool to look out at the men gyrating all over one another. “You go and play for the both of us. I’m going to sit here and—”

“Ferment?”

“Okay that word is too big for my brain right now,” Robbie said, and winced. “Go and feel up the muscles and men for me. Someone should get some enjoyment out of them.”

Elliot pursed his lips. “I don’t know…”

“I’m just gonna sit here. Not going anywhere,” Robbie promised, crossing a finger over his chest.

“Your heart is on the other side, genius.”

Robbie switched sides and did it again. “I’m just gonna drown my sorrows so my body hurts tomorrow and will take my mind off my broken heart.”

“Aww, cheer up, Buttercup. Your Prince Charming will come to you one day soon.”

“Well, until then”—Robbie gestured for the bartender—“I’m going to drink myself into a deep slumber in the hopes that maybe he’ll come on me, or, you know, at least kiss me back to life.”

Elliot placed a hand on Robbie’s arm. “Do not go anywhere. I’ll be back for you.”

“I can’t feel my legs to move, so… I’ll stay. Like a good little boy.”

“Don’t know how good you are, but…” Elliot chuckled, then before he headed out to the dance floor, said, “Where’s your phone?”

Robbie dug into his pants pocket and pulled it free.

Elliot opened the contacts and scrolled down to his name, and then set it on the bar in front of Robbie. “You need me, call. Do not leave this seat.”

Robbie touched his fingertips to his temple in a sloppy salute and then hiccupped. “Yes, sir.”

“Okay. Be back for you soon.” Elliot then turned to the bartender and said, “No more after this for him.”

When the bartender nodded, Robbie’s mouth fell open. “Hello, you’re not my mother.”

“Lucky for you. She’d be spanking your ass right now, not to mention your sisters, and I’m sure you’d much rather have that done by a man who would then pound it afterward. I’ll be back.”

Robbie dismissed Elliot with a wave of his hand, and then took great interest in scrolling up and down his list of contacts, searching for someone to occupy his time. It wasn’t until he saw Julien’s number that he realized how drunk he was, because that was the only excuse he could think of as to why he hit call.

Well that, and: If there’s a bad decision to make, I will make it.

Review – Craft by Adriana Locke

Mercy, mercy, MERCY! Why didn’t my history teacher in high school look and act like Lance Gibson? I assure you if Mr. Weatherford was anything at all like Lance more of us would have rolled into class at 8 AM in a better frame of mind. Same could be said for study hall. If the librarians looked and baked like Ms. Malarkey, maybe more of my guy friends would have actually picked up a book.

Lance Gibson is sexy, sinful and a braggert. At least with his family, he has plenty of stories of… conquests. Inside, though, Lance is a man with secrets, sadness and regrets. But Lance is also a man with heart who wants what is best for his students. He adores his family, especially his Nana. He’s funny, flirtatious and and has an affinity for… cupcakes with peanut butter icing. Plus if he gets to tease the gorgeous librarian who makes those cupcakes, even better. Mariah Malarkey knows that Lance is a player and only comes to her office during his break to get under her skin. They have done this little push and pull for a while and somehow he’s become the stuff that fantasties are made of.

A chance encounter changes everything for these two. Oh, does it ever!

These two are so much fun together. So much! I laughed with them. I cringed with them at their embarassing moments. They have such beautiful chemistry and steamy sex appeal. At the foundation of their relationship is a refreshing friendship. They simply GET each other. They have secrets and pains from the past that try to color the future. While Lance comes off as a playboy and prankster prince, at his core he’s such an amazingly sweet guy that it’s impossible not to fall for him. Mariah is sassy, stubborn and just plain fantastic! She’s been hurt, by family no less in the worst possible way. I cheered for her with all my heart because I so wanted to see her have the happiness that she so richly deserved.

Craft is swoony, angsty and powerful. Such a fun read! Adriana has written another wonderful family story that pulled me in and would not let go until I read the very last word. It is warm and full of emotion. It has its heartbreaks and tears, too, but when I sat down my kindle, I sighed the happiest of sighs. The Gibson series is small town living, family and love at its absolute best. Something tells me this series is only going to get better with each Gibson’s story that Adriana tells, and I cannot wait.

They’re not quite enemies. Not really friends. More like frustrated balls of sexual tension and neither will give in.

Lance Gibson drives Mariah Malarkey absolutely crazy. He uses her office like a phone booth, takes cupcakes from the corner of her desk like she baked them just for him. She didn’t. Maybe she knew the history teacher happened to love peanut butter icing, but that was purely a coincidence. All sixteen times.

Mariah has a way of getting under Lance’s skin too. She calls him out on his crap, spoils him even if inadvertently, and seeing the librarian in skirts drives him wild. She won’t give in. It’s for the best, really, considering there’s no way he could lie to a woman like that and he’s not about to tell her the truth about himself. Not in a million years.

These two don’t hate each other. They don’t really like each other. But for this to be a friends-to-lovers story, they have to start somewhere, right?

6 stars but worth more!

6 stars but really more like 20. Lauren you a like a magical rainbow unicorn. I become more and more amazed with each release, even though every book you’ve written is absolute perfection! Just FYI, you will need tissues for happy cries and sad cries.

This story resonated so much. I absolutely adore Colby and Lydia. I usually find myself talking about the male main character, but Lydia is one strong bitch and I love her to pieces.

Now on to Colby. That man is the kind of man every girl she wishes she could find. What I absolutely loved with his character was that he was caring, loving, devoted, and protective without be an alpha. I know we all love our alphas, but I absolutely love characters like Colby.

Both Lydia and Colby have a tragic life story, and find each other at the right time, even though tragedy is what brought them together. Watching the love between these 2 makes my heart so happy. Plus, who doesn’t love a man who acceps your children? Can you say *swoon* #OvaryExplosion #LaurenRoweRocks
