This was just SO GOOD!

When I started reading this amazing series, I was immediately thrown back to Friday nights, bright lights on the field and football being king from August to November. I’m a Southern girl. Football is a religion. Reading this story reminded me of fall, returning to school and coming of age. No feelings are more intense, no time is more magical. M. Never managed to capture those wonderful, horrible times in the form of a cocky country quarterback and a sassy city girl.

Kam Ellis lives and breathes football. He’s the star of the high school football team and has Alabama in his future. He has a reputation as a player. Every girl in school wants him – until one doesn’t. Laney Summers comes roaring into town from NYC, her celebrity chef father and high powered mother having recently divorced. She’s full of sass and vinegar. She knows about Kamdyn Ellis and refuses to fall for his charm and super star athlete status. From the moment he sees Laney in class, he falls and falls hard. But don’t be fooled by the tough exterior…. Laney is just as attracted to Kam. But she’s fighting it. When a tragic accident and injury almost destroy Kam’s future it’s Laney that stands by his side when he needs her the most.

Thus begins first love and first heartbreak. The journey these two take to finding not only true love but career success, self confidence and family is not smooth, but what an awesome read this series was! Kam and Laney are bound to each other no matter how they may fight or stray. There were moments that these two made me so angry. Their story is so full of angst, misunderstandings, steamy chemistry and just the most loving bond imaginable. Ultimately, this is a story of love overcoming the obstacles and pitfalls of youth that parents want so much for their children to avoid. It’s a second chance love story that just so relatable. The secondary cast of characters in this book – namely Kam’s mother and Laney’s parents – are just as important to this love story as Kam and Laney are.

I just LOVED THIS! It shows that M has such a well rounded talent. She can play the dark and embrace the light in her stories and this is proof. Well done, M! Well done!
