This has been an absolutely incredible roller coaster of a read! It is mostly certainly unlike any romance novel that I have read recently. BT weaved a story that felt so right at home for me. It felt small town with big city problems. It felt cozy, full of secrets, with unforeseen troubles ahead. And while yes, Into The Nothing is a romance between Xander and Paige, I never felt that the romance was the focal point of this book. It was Xander’s journey through his past, its pains and losses, that made this book such a fantastic story.

Xander Evans is a wanderer. From Florida, to Georgia and now Missouri. A run in with the locals at a dive bar leads to a job with the small town’s winery and begins a tempestuous relationship with a beautiful girl named Paige. They have a similar background – his contained a childhood of drugs, abuse, violence and murder. Hers had the memories of an abusive boyfriend who still couldn’t seem to just let go. Xander finds something in Paige he never thought he would find. He finds love. And with Paige’s mother and father he also finds family. A family and a love he is more than willing to fight for.

But trouble is never far. Xander makes enemies. Xander has fights. Xander is a drunk. Xander has secrets that he has to face. Paige wants to be closer. She wants his secrets. She wants to help. But he knows she’ll only end up hurt. Still he wants her. He wants to share his life with her. She is the one.

One night will change their futures forever. One night will break a budding romance. One night will destroy a family. And that’s where this story truly becomes one that cannot be missed. The twists and turns. The agony and heartbreak. This is definitely not your run of the mill romance. The last twenty percent of the book left me stuttering, sad and just stunned.

BT shows in this story that his talent is not just in his model poses. This story shows his versatility, creativity and uncanny ability to transport his readers to Truman Valley with its small town ways, Main Street mentality and close knit families. But he also managed to make the reader feel its dirty under belly, violent ugliness and touch of crazy. Xander and Paige are indeed a modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Beautifully written… Probably one of the best I have read this year.

FANTASTIC, Taylor!

Xander Evans has been on the road for many years. Never settling. Always moving from one place to another, unable to let go of his past. He lived a tragic childhood, spending most of those years in foster care. He’s never felt like he’s had a home. That is until he stops in the small town of Truman Valley, Missouri, where he meets a woman who will change everything he’s ever known.

Paige Watson has it all. A loving family, beautiful home, and a great career. The only thing she’s missing….is love. After escaping an abusive relationship, she opens her heart up to a stranger. He is unlike any man she’s ever met. He came into her life and turned it completely upside down. Everything is perfect. That is, until one fateful night.

A night that would tear the Watson family apart, never to be put back together again.

A night that would send Xander away to prison for life.
