Oh, Adriana Locke has done it again! How she makes us fall head over boots for these incredible families the world may never know. If Crank and Walker Gibson are any indication The Gibson Boys are very seriously going to give that family from Savannah — I think they are the Landrys? — a run for their money as a fan favorite. So so sorry Lincoln. Nah, not sorry at all!
Walker is a hard working blue collar guy. He’s a mechanic, a man of his word. He loves his family and takes pride in his business. Still Walker is a broken man doing his best to hide his hurt, anger and pain behind a stoic attitude and a shuttered soul. All that changes when a girl from Savannah decides to use his truck for batting practice. His life will never be the same after Sienna Landry enters the doors of his auto shop, Crank.
Sienna Landry is considered Savannah royalty coming from a politically powerful family. Still she never felt that she fit in with the high achieving Landry clan. A talented designer and risk taker, Sienna packs her bags and heads to Illinois to take a chance on a dream and move out from the shadow of her overprotective family. Never would she have expected that trying to fix a mistake would lead her on the road to a soul deep love, heartbreak, a healthy dose of angst and another amazing family that she could call her own.
Walker and Sienna are poplar opposites. She’s Manolo’s and he’s Timberland’s. She’s five star meals and he’s burgers and beer. She’s spend now and he’s frugal because he has to be. They are perfect for each other. Still their love and relationship is not without struggles, doubts and insecurities. The past was never far behind and it had the potential to destroy something that could be everything. But these two have a chemistry that burned from their first meeting and only got hotter as their story developed. I couldn’t help but to fall in love with the sexy mechanic and his brooding soulful self. Sienna reminded me that just because the girl came from royalty didn’t mean she had to wear the crown. Being a commoner isn’t so bad when the prize is Walker Gibson.
This story had me from the very beginning in much the same way that Written In The Scars did. The Walkers are the real people. They are the family in your own neighborhood. Hard workers. God, family and Sunday dinners at Grandmother’s house. They share their hurts and worries and cheer on the high school football team at state championships. I felt this story in my heart and it reminded me that I am that small town girl trying hard to make the community proud. Crank is a wonderful beginning to another series that I’m going to love and devour from Adriana. This is family with all its beauty and frailties, amazing best friends, and a Nana that makes the best comfort food ever.
Fantastic, Addy!
This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of.
As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.
The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.
He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?
The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.
Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys.

“Have you forgotten already?” he whispers.
“Forgotten what?”
“That I’ve been inside you.”
I grip the wooden rung screwed into the tree as if I’m ready to climb. It’s really so I don’t sag against him. His words fire through my veins and singe my vessels, landing in one contorted mass at the apex of my thighs.
“And we saw what happened after that,” I volley back.
He bristles beside me. Clean, un-Walker-filled air swallows my personal space and I instantly hate it. My body begs to fall back towards him, to feel the energy that buzzes between us when he’s near, but I don’t dare.
Instead, I put one foot on the bottom rung and look at him over my shoulder. He’s watching me with intense, broody eyes, his bottom lip pinched between his teeth.
“Close your eyes, Gibson. I’d hate for you to see what you’ve been missing.”
With a light head and clattering heart, I work my way up the pseudo-ladder. I don’t look down. I show no fear. And even more importantly, I show no weakness.
