This incredible story is one that shook me. It is a story about regret, loss and a grief that encompasses every aspect of life and steals its joy. This is a story of a man who many of thought is a total jerk, a lost cause. Some have even called him a cheater. Reading Logan’s story and then re-reading in parts, I see Logan as a man who is deeply devastated, riddled with guilt and trying everything he can to cope. Even if that means he beds and leaves, drinks to dangerous levels, treats everyone around him with contempt and keeps people at a safe distance.

Grief has no rhyme or reason. It has no timetable. There’s no manual to follow to ease the unbearable sadness. This story is Logan’s way to speak his pain. His way is destructive, cruel to those who care for him. Shannon was the love of his life and their parting was not pleasant. Meeting Hannah finally is a step toward healing his heart and mending his soul. After two years, he finally feels something and in Hannah, he finds a kindred spirit because she has been grieving, too.

S gave readers so much in this story, from soaring highs to heartbreaking lows. I saw Logan’s triumphs as well as his setbacks. I felt Hannah’s confusion and her love for this tremendously wonderful but complicated man.
